Prompt 16 - Never Forgotten
@jegulus-microfic October 16, Word count 209
James was relaxing with his friends in the Gryffindor Common Room by the fire. They’d had a manic day in Hogsmeade, his pockets were bulging with the latest Zonko products, and he was currently putting the finishing touches on a prank to change all the stone floors throughout the castle to the Gryffindor colours of red and gold when he heard his name being said.
“Yeah, our Jaime has the worst memory,” Sirius was telling Lily.
“Hey,” James grumbled, offended. “I have never forgotten a thing in my life,” Sirius arched a brow at him.
“Regulus,” He said simply.
“Shit!!!” James leapt to his feet and ran out of the Common Room and down the marble staircases. He was kicking himself internally. How could he have forgotten about his date with Regulus?!
He hurtled down the last set of stairs and into the entrance hall, skidding across the floor and straight into a fed-up-looking Regulus. “Sorry, love,” He apologised and led Reg out of the castle and towards the greenhouses where he’d set up a picnic in the tropical house for them. Hopefully, it would be enough for Regulus to forgive him. He made a mental note to purchase a remembrall the next time there was a Hogsmeade weekend.

Meet-Cute
Days that pass like sand,  blowing idly by  in the summer wind
he dreams of snakes,  long-fanged, like vexed bees, stinging at his scalp “Purify yourself,”  but he has not sinned
…he does not protest
The river is green-blue. Alive. He feels its heart beating beneath the slick rock of its banks.  Old river. Gorgeous thing. Bent into the shape of a shepherd’s crook, flowing but tame A nursery for fresh-born nymphs too young to stand the ocean’s tide-pulls  or maybe a reprieve from rough Summer’s overbearing heat
He slips his robe from his shoulders. Unbinds the curls of his hair.  There is almost regret in his heart. Almost tragedy. Almost pain.  Each ritual bath is a spectre of the first, blood sinking deep into his flesh,  poison that will never stop burning. He empties his lungs of air and steps
Light-footed, like air down the forest path she goes a-walking
she’s dreamt of violets since summer’s first dawn a maiden possess’d
“Purify yourself,” that’s what father said
...This is how they meet
(Gold  like sun slicing through the clouds  like full-grown barley begging to be picked  She’s gold and slim and gorgeous  bathing in the river
The nymph is new  like speckled flowers blooming on a rose bush  she calls to be admired  and Evadne cannot resist her allure)

we are in full-tilt poinsettia selling season and since I am the only person who can figure out my system for pulling wholesale orders together it has largely been me pulling every order once again this year.... I like doing it tbh it's like a weird logic puzzle.
like "OK this order is for 12/22 which means it has to sit here a while which means we have to keep it somewhere decent and accessible for care and shouldn't have poinsettias too far in bloom so i have to put them in this house and also they ordered whites in different sizes so I have to match the level of white and if they got a shorter color I will pull shorter reds to match better and--"

Farm Lexa has this hand bound book she made back when she was around sixteen. She made it to keep her pressed flowers. The very first page has pressed daisies and a date below them followed by a happy scribble, "Clarke asked me on a date."
The dandelion Clarke put in her hair after their first kiss. A black eyed susan they picked after their first time as they walked around the run down farm.
The petals of the deep red roses Clarke gifted Lexa the day they decided to get engaged.
One of each of the flowers Lexa walked down the aisle with. One of each of the flowers from Clarke's bouquet.
The english primrose that popped up in Lexa's garden not long after little Madi laughed for the first time.
The Lilly of the Valley a baby Saige found fascinating because fairies lived in them.
The poppies the twins ended up ripping from her garden because it matched their hair.
The small piece of baby's breath that showed up around the tree where they buried their baby soon after Lexa stepped out of her grief.
The sunflower petals that remind her of Clarke and their little sunshine boy Aden.
Every wild flower the kids offered her. At least one petal from the bouquets Clarke got her. Her favorite flowers from her garden. The ones she found on walks. All dated, all with a note on why they made her smile.

Do you ever just try to read something, and even though it’s a fun premise, the style of it manages to hit a ton of your writing pet peeves and you just can’t do it?
That was my experience tonight with “A Witch’s Guide to Fake Dating a Demon” by Sarah Hawley.

-->And then – farm chores time, as always! For everyone except Marm, who flew up to Smiler’s room to use their computer to “troll teh forums,” then went limp to download enhancement data – a process that takes a LOT LONGER than I thought it would. They were out for most of the damn morning! *shakehead* Servos, man…
Anyway – Victor of course went to the greenhouse to help Elmer and Bugs with their efforts (the over-sized crops needed lots of weeding, watering, and bug-spraying), while Smiler sprinkled feed for the chickens, chatted with them, and got the eggs (six normal eggs and one hatchable this time) and Alice cleaned off poor dirty Moory. And then attempted to appease the specter bobbing around the cow paddock with her basic silver bracelet – only for the specter to go “what, no crystal?” and get all snippy. *shakehead* Damn picky specters… As Alice was hungry anyway, I had her flee the area in favor of going to the kitchen, where she set the table (I keep meaning to use that future more, so it seemed a perfect opportunity), cleaned all the spoiled stuff out of the fridge, then chowed down on most of a plate of spinach frittata for lunch. Smiler, meanwhile, made an eco-upgrade part, then fixed a busted water collector before going upstairs to have a nice bath in their newly-upgraded tub. Because no point in doing the upgrades if Sims can’t enjoy them! Once I was sure they were good, I had Alice head back over to Moory’s shed to refill her feed, then try to bond with the cow – unfortunately, the conversation went poorly. “Okay,” I thought, “let’s have her give the cow some prairie grass hay instead for a snack” –
And then watched as Moory VANISHED and Alice did the glitch thing of putting her hands behind her to “feed” the invisible cow. O.o I checked both her personal inventory and the household one, but didn’t see the cow. Fortunately she reappeared a little bit later, but that was WEIRD. Game – game, can you not.
-->Anyway – with that kind of sorted, I had Alice go do some more recycling, clearing out the bin and a bunch of rotten stuff in everyone’s inventories (including some of the massive amount of Granite-Falls-specific fruit and mushrooms in the household inventory – I’m not doing anything with it!). Once she was done with that, I checked the cow paddock anxiously – and upon seeing Moory was back to normal (whew), I thus sent her to give Moory a PROPER treat (Animal Party, to improve her social need) and milk her, getting the normal six bottles of milk. *nods* Good. Now let’s hope the cow doesn’t glitch out again!
While that was happening, I woke Marm from his “enhancement downloading” trance and had him chat with Smiler for a bit (gotta get him to bond with the other members of the household, after all), then had Smiler head down to see if they could help Victor in the greenhouse while Marm went to play with the cowplant again (I guess Toothy is now officially “his” pet). By the time they got down there, though, pretty much all the tending had been taken care of, so I instead had them initiate the great super-sell while Victor got the beeswax and honey from his bee box, and then collected a swarm to pollinate the trees at the back of the greenhouse. Victor then went in to use the bathroom while Smiler deactivated Bugs and Elmer (though they left them in the greenhouse, since they still have decent battery). Once that was done, I took a moment to make sure everyone was in a good spot and all the milk and eggs and such were in the fridge –
