This is a sad day.

Last night at Athens, a 29 year old was stabbed to death during a football match by neo-nazi hoolingans. 8 people are hospitalized and 96 people were arrested that night, and the arrests are still continuing today. This is the third death in three years due to football rivalry. Living here over time I've realized how huge the problem really is. People still haven't learned after the death of Alkis how fanatics are no people to mess with. It is absolutely devastating how people go as far as to KILL just because someone doesn't support the same team as them. At the same time, I can't help but feel angry. A young person was killed over FOOTBALL. It's gone to the point you can't go to a match without things getting violent. Over the years, PSAs have been released to warn people about those things. This shouldn't fucking have to happen. People shouldn't be scared to go a football match because of scumbag thugs beating and killing people.

My heart goes out to the victim's families and everyone injured due to the incident. Rest in Peace.

as the entire world knows by now, last night the entire country (and the squad) was made aware that one of our players passed away tragically. today his teammates are forced to play this game in a very fragile psychological state as we can all imagine, all because uefa sucks. so please be mindful of any comments you make towards our boys tonight and spare a thought for our smiley George whom we lost way too soon 💙
