how does this keep happening. I open a purposfully comedic and silly series and then find a reason to be emotionally devastated

grebthar deserved sooo much better he was literally just some guy from earth and he was forced into an centuries long war with a dark god to the point his mind broke and he is now physically unable to escape the god
