I gotta say, as a fandom, us green day fans are pretty lucky. The band has sworn on their lives practically that they’ll never break up, they each have instagrams, their wives/girlfriends are cool, they made a MUSICAL for Christ’s sake and Billie was in it, they gave us 3 albums consecutively, they tour like motherfuckers, they bring tons of people on stage at shows, they time and time again prove how much that they love their fans, and there’s about a billion other things but yeah, we’re really lucky that a band with such great music also has great people in it

WOW! What an incredible month this has been celebrating the 30th anniversary of Dirt! • I hope I’ve relayed how much this album means to me, the relevancy of those lyrics and dark, brooding, gut-punching music still exists today. To me, this album was probably the most important release of the 1990’s. And as much as I love each AiC album, it’s Dirt that made the most impact on me. At times, I felt the album explained my life. • It should be noted that the Dirt demos were actually recorded at @londonbridgestudio - with the late Rick Parashar and Alice producing and @davehillismusic as engineer. The demos are my favorite. • On August 5, 2022, Dirt was certified 5X Platinum by the RIAA. • In a retrospective review, Steve Huey of AllMusic said "Dirt is Alice in Chains' major artistic statement and the closest they ever came to recording a flat-out masterpiece. It's a primal, sickening howl from the depths of Layne Staley's heroin addiction, and one of the most harrowing concept albums ever recorded. • Michael Christopher of PopMatters praised the album saying "the record wasn't celebratory by any means – but you'll be hard pressed to find a more brutally truthful work laid down – and that's why it will always be one of the greatest records ever made. • I think the Dirt album has continued to reach people on an emotional level. In the beginning, I don’t think it was necessarily their intention to do so, but it’s still the bands most popular album. It disturbingly relates to all of us on some level.
