I’ve completed the Starr boxes. Wood burned the Starr name on the bottom. After that I painted the letters with purple texture paste; then added a green highlight color (Prima Sparks). To protect the bottoms, I used Mod Podge for Hard Coats. The boxes will go to Melinda and Gayle. Mike’s Sister & Mom. After this, I will start on a box that I knew I’d eventually be making. This one will go to the love of Mike’s life, Miranda. I already had everything ready to go. Box has been painted. • • Today, I’ll be making the candles for the annual gathering at the Seattle Center International Fountain. I’m extremely excited to share more of the donations that have been received. • The top two 11x14” images are from the Layne with Mad Season era donated by the iconic Seattle photographer Lance Mercer. Lance has signed both and even wrote the year & location the images were taken. • The bottom two 11x14” images are by Michigan Music Photographer Paul Jendrasiak. This is the 2nd year Paul has graciously donated. The images are from 1991, of Layne & Mike. Paul has also signed both images and added the year and venue. Paul also included a separate note to the auction winners. I recently found out that Paul used to interview his subjects. Wonder if he ever interviewed AiC - I know we’d love to read it🤘🏻🤘🏼 • Thank you both for your generous donations. More to come. The tribute candles are completed. When I first started making these years ago, I really didn’t put a lot of thought into them. As I worked on them, I was thinking about how little time I spent on them back in the early years. However, the part 5 or so years I try and spend more time on them. A bottle of this very rare wine sits on my Alice designated bookshelves. Only 1028 cases were produced. Demri’s mom Kathleen purchased at least 2 cases. I remember when we all gathered at the Intl’ fountain in 2015. Not only did I see my Italian Brothers, but further up the walkway, I saw Kathleen - and she was carrying 2 gift bags. 1 for Nancy & 1 for me. Little did I know what was to be discovered inside. After all my years of following AiC, I stumble upon a readers letter that I’m positive I missed the first 10+ times thumbing through the issue. And as I’ve stated a millions times, the fans are who’s opinions matter, never the critic.
