Image description: a five page comic with messy writing and messy line drawings coloured with gouache. Each page has four panels and each panel has a caption and an image. Page one Caption: Mouse and Ruth go for drives a lot. Image: a red car drives down a country road. Caption: to stores and beaches and the dump where you can find cool things. Image: a white mouse looks up at a wall with doll’s heads nailed to it, labeled “wall of dolls”. Caption: I almost never join. Ruth asks, “isn’t My going stir crazy?” Image: a deer is driving a car, and the mouse sits on a pile of pillows on the passenger’s seat. Caption: but I’m so used to this I forget there’s anything to go crazy about Image: an orange cat lies in bed.
Tumblr media
Page two Caption: When we lived in Malmö there were weeks I didn’t leave the apartment Image: the cat peeks out a window, looking at a pigeon that’s pooping on the window ledge. Caption: months I didn’t see anyone besides Mouse. I just couldn’t manage the stairs Image: the cat looks down an exaggerated, maze-like staircase. Caption: Mouse wasn’t much better off. I took up indoor “gardening” so we wouldn’t miss nature too much. Of course I often couldn’t water the plants. It felt bitter and symbolic when they died Image: the cat is in a different bed, looking at a house plant on a side table that’s beginning to wilt. Caption: here there’s no stairs and I have plants and bees right outside my window Image: the cat is in the first bed, drawing a comic. There’s a flower, a butterfly and a bee outside the window behind it.
Tumblr media
Page three Caption: people tend to get frustrated with my acceptance Image: the cat takes down a half finished painting from an easel. Caption: even after we’ve talked a lot about my illness, they think I should plan ahead as if a cure is right around the corner Image: a rabbit is standing beside a table covered in unfinished canvases, looking at  one of them. The cat stands behind them, looking nervous. Caption: often it’s the same people who respond to tragedies you CAN fix by saying “life’s not fair” Image: the cat is rescuing bugs from drowning in a water barrel and the rabbit looks over its shoulder, looking annoyed. Caption: but when I let go of what I can’t have, they see it as defeat. Image: the cat is curled up and hiding in bed while the rabbit stands over them, frowning, holding the unfinished painting and waving two paintbrushes.
Tumblr media
Page four Caption: I understand the impulse to say “maybe some day”. When it’s kindly meant, I value the intention. Image: The rabbit has its arm around the cat’s shoulder and waves towards a thought bubble. In the thought bubble the cat is floating and happy at the end of a rainbow with pink clouds, flowers and a smiling sky in the background. Caption: but few things are more dangerous to my soul than “maybe some day” Image: the cat huddles on the ground and hides its face. Right above the cat, as if pushing down, is a bigger thought bubble with images of the cat looking happy - dancing, being held, proudly painting, holding a baby. Caption: There is no greater wisdom in life than: fix what you can and accept what you can’t. Image: the thought bubble is breaking up and shrinking. The cat is sitting up, smiling at a dandelion beside it. Caption: some times, giving up isn’t just the only way to survive but to thrive, and leave room for joy. Image: The half finished canvases are burning on the ground and the cat walks away without looking back.
Tumblr media
Page five Caption: today I’m sad because I’m in pain and I miss moving and doing Image: the cat is crying in bed. Caption: but when I thank God for giving me this life filled with blessings, it’s from the heart. Image: the cat wipes away some tears and looks a little happier. Caption: I am happy more often than not. I mostly cry from gratitude. There is no contradiction Image: the cat closes its eyes and is surrounded by a pink glow and red cartoon hearts. Caption: life will ask me to let go of much bigger things and maybe I can come with to the dump next time Image: the cat looks at the wall of dolls and says: “cool!” End ID. Here's some disability thoughts I had during my latest flare (hence the wobblier-than-usual lines and messy writing). I hope it makes sense even if I was pretty confused when I made it! I have POTS and ME/CFS, as well as ADHD and being autistic. Accepting the reality of being bed/housebound and hard-of-thinking often is going to be a life long effort but I'm getting there. Happy disability pride month!!! Reblogs are much appreciated! (if you wanna help me live and stuff and make more art and comics I have a Patreon. I post comic pages there on average once a day for the 3€ tier as well as other fun things! Link in my pinned post)

Mammals of Maglor’s Gap and Lothlann
Now that I’ve finished world building posts on birds for each Fëanorian realm pre Amon Ereb, I’m going through mammals next! Mammals of the March of Maedhros can be found here and my environmental world building Masterlist is here!
Maglor’s Gap was the widest break in the mountains and cliffs dividing Beleriand and the lands to the north. It lay between the blue mountains to the east and the March of Maedhros to the west. Lothlann was a wide expanse of plains to the north of the Gap. The rivers greater and little Gelion ran around the western and eastern borders.
Forest steppes: wild goat, wood bison, southern white breasted hedgehog, gray marmot, ground squirrel, dormouse, woolly hares, long eared hedgehog, gray shrews, northern hog badger, sable (rare), steppe mouse, lesser noctule (bat), wildcat, red fox, red deer
Bordering mountain fences: Caucasian Tur, mouflon, chamois, alpine pika, pond bat, marbled polecat, saiga antelope, steppe polecat, mountain weasel, ibex (rare), argali
Plains: goitered gazelle, steppe wolf, wild horse, northern water vole (by the rivers), snow vole, grey dwarf hamster, common hare, common rabbit, striped field mouse, ural field mouse, harvest mouse, mountain hare, field vole (also primarily by rivers), wild horse
World building notes:
The horse based cavalry of Maglor is one of the few details we have about this region. I headcanon that the horses in question are a mixture of the descendants of the Valinor born horses brought by the Fëanorian host as well as wild horses from Estolad, Himlad, Lothlann and the other plains regions of Eastern Beleriand.
Sheep and goats provide the majority of milk and cheese products in the Gap. Some of these species are imported from other regions like sheep from Thargelion.
Domesticated bovine are rare in Eastern Beleriand outside Thargelion and parts of Estolad. There are however wild and semi domesticated bison such as the wood bison, especially on the borders of forested and forest steppe regions. Fur, skin and bones from bison are used by both Noldorin and Avarin elves for clothing and other materials.
Wild hamsters, rabbits, hares and voles were used by a select few of Maglor’s cavalry as companions and even spies.
A regiment of foot based scouts had the sigil of a hare in the form of a light silhouette upon a black background.

Summer, 1984
“The purpose in a man's heart is like deep water, but one who has insight draws them out.”
Were the first words the town’s loonie spoke to you. Ralph was his name.
You never understood why exactly he resented you, babbling about a death curse as he eluded your presence, time and time again.
Sometimes you wondered if you bestowed this curse, but as far as you’re concerned, you can bleed and meet a terrible demise just like any other of your fleshy brethren.
Just like wicked men, crazy men were unpredictable, yearning for your trust to lure you into a greater evil, fueled by their passion of ulterior motives and deceivement.
You figured such a concept applied to Ralph, so naturally, approaching him was never an idea.
But with that massacre that happened at the reopening of Crystal Lake Camp? Maybe the old coot was the only sane one here.
Yet his words persisted to dwell in your mind, maybe they tormented you so because you gave them power, or there was some sort of sick truth to the doomsayer’s claims.
Your refound peace at Crystal Lake would cleanse you of your racing thoughts, just temporarily.
Visiting the lush forest was probably not your best idea, especially after what happened. But the stillness of the water, along with the alleged suspect being in custody brought comfort.
Everything has been tense recently, locals clamored about Camp Blood, and gossip spread from home to home. Like Ralph, some talked about a curse, and others claimed it was just unlucky.
While luck was an ideology you never subscribed to, the lake revolved around superstition, turning both it and who occupied the lands into an embodiment.
The camp counsellors would flip their lucky pennies, the results determining who could fuck off, and who would be on shift, as if their duty of care was a treacherous burden cast upon them.
A bad omen.
A simple flip of a coin sealed Jason’s destiny, from the day he was pushed into the lake, to now; a deranged and bloodlusted killer, distributing the very same bad luck and terror on new pupils.
ki ki ki ma ma ma
An inner monologue of hate versus desire. Not one could hear, nor feel it coming. The steady steps crunching on foliage is jarring, and without much of a warning, the life would leave his victims eyes.
Receiving no answers, just closure.
Like a lamb awaiting their turn to the slaughter, your impending fate was approaching soundlessly. You were indirectly guilty, just for being.
Yet the hair on the nape of your neck stood, and for a quick moment, the mourning doves stopped their cooes.
The lake fell eerily silent, the sound of your breath becoming the main occupant.
Terrible deities haunted you in your dreams, often possessing humanoid characteristics, not resembling the mortal world at all.
The only escape was in your waking hours, where evil blended into the masses, going unnoticed by most, preying on the weak and hunting the powerless.
Like a wolf in sheep’s clothing he wore shiny black boots, overalls, and a tattered plaid shirt. If it wasn’t for the burlap sack— he could have fooled anyone.
An evocative eye peeked at you from under the fabric, dark and cunning while they preached sin.
You were that to a deer in headlights, your legs refused to move as you stared death in the eye.
Instead of a car shooting towards you at the speed of light, providing the luxury of a swift death upon impact. It was a six-foot-something monster with a pickaxe, stalking towards you like a lion.
You entertained no game of cat and mouse— maybe he liked it that way.
Cornered against the old oak, and nearly automated, the beast raised the weapon he yielded, preparing to strike.
Yet he froze—
Was he waiting for you to run?
His eye was barren, and offered nothing as his gaze slunk down— either to your chest or necklaces, you couldn’t tell.
As a shriek escaped, you regained the consciousness desperately needed to flee,
and for once, evil didn’t follow.

haircut!anon back to yap! (not directly abt haircuts this time but i like the pseudonym.) topic on the board today is-- animal symbolism! reading the most recent snippet my eyes caught on the visual of charles crawling like a dog, which is really in sharp contrast to his typical fanon personification through dominantly herbivores/prey animals (mouse and deer/stag come to mind). (i feel kind of insane typing this out.) feel free to take this idea anywhere you please but like - herbivore-carnivore transition, or was he blood hungry from the start? do you have other strong animal-relational symbolism u associate with girlestappen? is this just a weird fucking question? lol
in reference to this snippet
eee! haircut!anon, i think you may actually live in my brain.
this is all delicious and i have lots to say about it, so bear with me!
i am not immune to the typical charles characterization of prey animal (see: the very elaborate web weave i made about him and deer theory...) but i think that when it's contrasted against his hunger, it really gets interesting.
(section a: CL field-notes)
the biggest thing with charles and what makes his character so compelling is the juxtaposition. he's passionate (and borderline obsessive) about his own performance, and also someone who is quite reserved and considerate of himself and others.
to contextualize this through racing: there is a clear distinguishment between charles on-track and charles off-track—a morbid desire to succeed that is housed within someone who is incredibly caring and attentive, especially towards those he cares about. the fact that charles has kept pretty much all of his friends from childhood (many of whom he karted with, or competed against) speaks volumes to this.
one of my absolute favorite charles characterization/personality quotes comes from his former Team Principal at Prema:
"The first thing that comes to mind when we talk about him is once again his determination, and his almost sickly desire to improve. Whether it was after the first test with us or after the end of the season, he always asked us where he could improve and how he had to do it. It is at the extreme of perfection." — René Rosin (Prema Racing, 2017) via 'Charles as seen by his former team managers' (Charles Leclerc Fans)
i think that above all else, charles' determination is funneled through the consideration of how he can push himself to be perfect. and ultimately, that is the driving force behind his pursuit of desire.
charles is self-described as being non-sentimental, and not particularly religious either. i think a large part of that comes down to how he never falls back on the idea of 'divine fate' or things being out of his hands. yes, there are little rituals he keeps up through racing... memories of his childhood, family, etc. that he carries, but none of them are ever pinned as a reason for either success or failure. ultimately, what happens on track and in competition are direct results of charles, his decisions, and efforts.
the best way i crystalize this for the sake of the narrative is that, to be very one-dimensional about it, charles views his car as a sort of 'phantom limb.' while it is this greater object that is separate from Charles the Person, any mishaps or incidents can ultimately be tied directly back to his direction and control.
charles has this morbid need to reach the pinnacle of what he believes himself to be capable of, and anything that falls short of that is viewed (by him) as a failure. this is primarily evident to me through how, even in the anger of moments where he's crashed or DNF'd, the blame is always directed inwards. he curses himself out, blames his own lack of performance, and even in media interviews afterwards tends to only reference the things that he should have done differently to gauge better results.
to tie this back to ideas of him being ruthless vs. meek, it's not necessarily that charles becomes a different person when he races, but instead that his hunger for perfection comes to the forefront, eclipsing everything else.
(section b: translation to girl!charles)
for girl!charles, i took this greater concept of having hunger eclipse nerves and reservations, and stuffed it into a little guilt-shaped pouch. in order to initially cope with killing and eating people, charles separates her person from her desire, or more-so allows it to be swallowed when necessary.
it is a very transformative thing, being around max. without giving away the entire plot, charles does devolve a bit, or more so gives into her hunger and desire instead of restricting herself. it's mentioned briefly in the snippet i posted, but charles' arc of being a cannibal follows in succession to max's—essentially, max was one first, and charles becomes more ruthless and willing to devour as their relationship progresses.
as killing and eating, especially with max, draw closer and closer to becoming a sacred act, she starts to chase this image of perfection within her own craft. it's something that she wants to be good at, and to do so, she sensationalizes some aspects of it (or maybe romanticizes is a better descriptor... i'm not sure)
the comparison in the drabble was mostly to allude to the animalistic nature of what they're doing, and how charles still makes efforts to try and separate herself from her actions when she eats. Charles the Cannibal and Charles the Girl are two different identities that she carries with her. over time, she starts to realize that the degrees of separation between the two were not as great as she thought, and thus begins her divulsion.
(section c: hunger as an animal)
i'm pretty sure that anything/everything i write will always include animal symbolism, so yes, there's definitely some present within girlestappen. their loyalty and devotion to one another is incredibly dog-like, and evident within the greater narrative of cannibalism and the act of devouring together. lesbians go crazy when a gentle creature bites to protect them.
aside from that, there's also allusions within the individual kills to animals/ideas of predator-and-prey that i haven't yet posted about, and likely won't until i finish the whole fic and publish it (we're 17k in... making moves...)
the one that i will point out now is charles likening the wire that max holds in this snippet to a snake. at this point, charles is still grappling with her attraction to max, and the comparison is intended to a) act as foreshadowing for how the guy she's with is about to die, and b) how his death, and max's actions, are ultimately going to push her to act on that temptation (think serpent in the Garden of Eden)
also... on the herbivore-carnivore topic... i've actually written charles as a vegetarian early on in the story (a decision she initially makes as a means to curb her desire and hunger)... so you nailed it.
this may be incoherent but tldr; charles contains multitudes.

All animal species (and a couple algae) that have kept the same scientific name since Linnaeus
The first work of taxonomy that is considered as having any scientific authority for animal species was the 10th edition of Linnaeus' Systema Naturae, published in 1758. (Also a book on spiders called Aranei Suecici, published one year before.) That's the foundational text of the binominal system of nomenclature of species still in use today. Since then most of Linnaeus' original species (4379 species, of which 185 mammals, 554 birds, 217 "amphibians" (including reptiles and cartilaginous fish), 379 fishes, 2104 "insects" (including various arthropods, of which 664 are beetles and 543 are moths & butterflies crammed into only 3 genera), and 940 "worms" (including basically all other invertebrates, and even some protists and algae)) have been dismembered, renamed, or at least moved to different genera (e.g. the house sparrow went from Fringilla domestica to Passer domesticus).

Fans flutter, jewels sparkle as they catch the light, and the air buzzes with students’ conversation, nervous and hopeful all at once. The Ethereal Ball has at last come to... not the monastery this year, that’s for sure. Garreg Mach’s guests from Morfis, welcome or not, have cast an ever greater spell over the area and now your friends in the Golden Deer house aren’t the only ones mouse-sized. You, too, are suddenly no taller than a thumb, but that horror is supplanted with a greater one when you’re swept up by the elements and dropped into a dazzling ballroom unlike any you have ever seen before, the ceiling open to the stars above and the vague faces of the five Morfisians who peer down at you. They intend to watch you for entertainment.
The “gift” they have given you is beautiful though: a massive room draped in garlands of white and pastel pink flowers that never wilt, the scent of perfume heavy in the air, with a polished floor sparkling as if made of starlight itself. Were it not for the mice with which you now stand eye-to-eye, it might have been easy to forget your new curse. The mice, you realize, have been blessed (or perhaps cursed as well) with human consciousness, and they scurry about with serving trays and towels.
While your clothes have shrunk with you, there is a little boutique a short way down one of the halls that branch off from the ballroom. For a kernel of corn, a pair of sparrows will grant you gowns and robes of ethereal silk, shimmering silver, flowers, and fairy dust. You may never have this experience again, so why not live it up and make this a night to remember? The Morfisian elementals want you to entertain them, after all.
You’ve been formally invited to the Ethereal Ball?
A once in a lifetime experience for students of the Officers Academy, this time an even more magical night full of excellent food and drink, endless dancing, and the highlight of the year for would-be couples and longtime lovers alike.
You might be tiny, but your hosts have spared nothing to treat you to a ball that would empty the coffers of even the wealthiest nobles in Fódlan.
What’s on My Hand?
Each attendee of the ball finds themselves with two things:
A long chain of vines that seems to contain some magical power, worn around the neck
A strange mark on the palm of the right hand, in one of 5 shapes. See this list to find which one your muse has. Note: all muses in TOA have been assigned a mark for ease of randomizing them, but this does not obligate a muse to participate. BOLD your muse’s name on the list if they are participating.
The five elementals - Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Lightning - have claimed each of you for themselves and imbued you each with some of their power. When power is traded between two characters via a handshake or some other action that puts their marks in contact, a flower corresponding to the element will bloom on each character’s vine necklace.
How to Play
The goal is to gather one flower per each of the 5 elements represented at the ball, presumably after you’ve had a favorable conversation with the attendee and earned their approval and / or friendship (note: IC interactions do not actually have to be favorable to count toward the goal).
YES: A approaches B with the express intention of making a good impression and trading power with a handshake
NO: A and B decide to ditch the party and make out in the surrounding forest
YES: A and B decide to ditch the party and make out in a beautiful clearing in the woods, and decide they might as well hold hands to share their respective patron’s power while they’re at it
YES: A asks B for a handshake, but B hates A and a fight ensues.
NO: B starts a fight with A for the hell of it, and neither of them mention the marks or the flowers.

A Note on Interactions
This year, do not reblog any of the inbox memes or prompts.
Bold your muse’s name on the elemental designations list to signal to the rest of the group that they are open to ball-related interactions.
A bolded name means that you are welcome to send any of the memes or prompts without asking beforehand.
You may unbold your muse’s name at any time. This will not affect whether or not they can claim their prizes at the end.
Schedule
WEEK 1 : Getting acquainted (12th - 19th) 12th - New prompts 13th - Matchmaking signups 16th - Matched pairs will be announced
WEEK 2 : Preparing for the (new) White Heron Cup (19th - 26th) 19th - New prompts & White Heron cup signups
WEEK 3 : White Heron Cup & Event Wrap-up (26th - 31st) 26th - New prompts 26-29th - White Heron Cup competition 30th - White Heron Cup winners announced June 1st - Event epilogue
Prizes
Once your garland has bloomed with all 5 colors, you will be eligible to pick one prize from the Spring tab of our prize list!
You will also be eligible for exclusive access to the Dancer class! It will be treated as a Unique class with its own mastery ability. Mastering the class will also grant the character Refresh.
All characters who reach the required colored flowers will receive the prizes.
Prizes can only be claimed after the event’s conclusion.
Please track your flowers somewhere, with the name of the other character and a link to the interaction. Whether you do it on your blog or somewhere private is up to you, but you will be submitting this to claim the prize at the conclusion of the event
And that’s it! If you have any questions or concerns, please let the mods know!
The Ethereal Ball? will run until May 31st at 11:59PM EST! And in addition to the interactions and the White Heron Cup, we will be staggering three different lists of prompts designed specifically for this setting throughout the event. We hope you have fun, and that your characters make a lot of new friends!

A brief realization of the self.
So, I got plenty of friends, mutuals, and folks I follow who are Plurals, Systems, whatever term best fits them in particular, seems to vary on who you talk to about it. Their experiences are not mine, and mine are not theirs, and I don't feel like my own situation qualifies quite the same, but I have come to realize that my "Aspects" might be akin to fledgling personalities in their own right, and that would explain a good deal about how they seem to fully take the spotlight whenever I base a TTRPG character off one of them, or one of them claims one of said characters...
So, I feel like sharing, for posterity's sake and to just have it out there, who I am, and the parts that make up whole.
Elazul/Janus/Blue: The core, idealized-self me, that is all of me at once. The me I see myself as when thinking of myself as a whole, and who I would like to be. Also my usual default personality when trying out a new setting. Feels most at self as a catwolf. Not really an Aspect, as (almost) everyone else here branched from him. It's just me, but fat and furry (and magic, hehe).
Russel: The part of me that loves to build, that desires to protect, that wishes I had the strength to step in when others do not. According to an incident during on of the aforementioned TTRPGs, he might be carrying some of my past trauma for me. For some reason, favored animal is a Deer Mouse. So far my most directly expressed Aspect, having actually been used in a complete campaign. Character came before the Aspect formed around it.
Nicholas/Nick/NOX: The part of me that loves music, both playing and listening to, that is fascinated by sound and its effects on objects and the mind, that wants little more than to be happy and share his favorite sounds and songs with people he cares about. Favored animal is pretty much any bat, has not picked a specific one yet. Second most-expressed aspect so far. Same deal as Russel with regards to which formed first.
Zeke/Ezekiel: One I don't really talk about much because he's not as prominent as the others. The part of me that loves to cook, loves food, and loves to share. Also probably the part of me that has the most trouble accepting gifts, despite how much he likes giving them. Has not developed enough to have a favored animal yet, and has only been directly expressed once. Was an active Aspect before I came up with the character he uses.
Ryan: The only voice in my head that doesn't feel like it's an intrinsic part of myself. Kinda just showed up one day, and seems to pick one of the other parts of myself to imitate, making their voice have a greater impact on my choices whenever this happens. Really likes masks for some reason. Favored animal is apparently octopi and cuttlefish. Has yet to be directly expressed, but already has made an impact on my local friend-group somehow. Might be an Aspect that represents my tendency to mimic others when I encounter things about them I like? There is no "Who came first?" with this one, Aspect and character are one in the same.
-------------
These are the voices that help me work things out in my head while I do my day-to-day stuff, they seem to have actually unique perspectives on things, different ways to go about finding solutions, but they're never really "at the wheel" so to speak. They do, however, take up a co-pilot like position from time to time, and do ease the mental burdens I'm dealing with at the time when they do...
I dunno, I just... Really had to get this thought out there for some reason, don't mind me if none of this makes sense to you.

@girlfox  asked  🍒:  fruity  headcanon  prompts.
Tumblr media
how  much  does  my  muse  value  companionship?     do  they  constantly  keep  people  around  them,   or  do  they  prefer  to  be  alone  often?     do  they  have  or  desire  to  have  many  friends?     do  they  see  every  meeting  as  an  opportunity  to  make  a  new  friend?
i’d  liken  his  definition  of   ‘   companion   ’   to  a  word  like  a  cast  member.     people  are  an  avenue  to  a   ‘   greater   ’   sense  of  entertainment,   like  an  unforeseen  sub-plot  in  his  show’s  script.     his  world  is  a  stage,   and  everyone  must  play  their  part.     he  flattens  people  into  their  archetypes:   moulds  them  into   ‘   scenes   ’   that  complement  the  parts  they  must  play.     he  would  want  their  dialogue  to  be  entertaining  to  watch.     thus  leading  him  to  see  people  as  projects.     not  necessarily  to  improve  or  dis-improve  them,   but  to  test  their  limits.     like  any  apostate,   he  thrives  on  his  ability  to  draw  the  eye.
in  cultivating  these  relationships,   he  learns  to  want  things  from  other  people.     he  learns  to   want   other  people.     that  they  are  more  than  a  dried  leaf  on  the  forest  floor.     hands  made  raw,   unweaving  themselves  from  mud.     this  is  how  a  hunter  learns  to  love  a  fawn.     how  a  deer  is  caught,   awed,   by  a  flash  of  lightning.     every  meeting  is  an  opportunity  to  explore  a  new  storyline.     he  remembers  this  when,   under  the  unblinking,   starless  sky,   he  waits  at  the  rim  of  sight.     lazing  around  a  fire  escape   /   edging  along  the  curve  of  a  tree  trunk.     he  is  a  human  in  ghost  clothing.     sin  must  be  heavenly.     for  how  could  a  god’s  creation  crave  sin,   without  first  learning  from  its  master?
HE  SAYS  TO  GOD:  ONLY  ANGELS  FALL.  DOWN  ON  EARTH,  YOU  WATCH  THE  ROT  BLEED  LIKE  A  CAT  PAWS  AWAY  THE  AIR  FROM  A  MOUSE’S  LUNGS.
and  when,   god  forbid,   one  evokes  his  gaze  beyond  a  passive,   needless  sub-plot   ( … )   his  gaze  functions  more  like  a  lens.     blood-lacquered  sight,   like  watching  through  a  sniper  scope.     an  old  dog  from  the  beginning:   he  knew  hate  before  he  knew  love.     by  this  token,   he  prefers  to  feel  held  like  a  knife  in  hand   –   or  in  a  spleen,   hehe   –   rather  than  held  like  a  baby  rabbit  in  a  child’s  collected  palms.     the  hunter’s  son  would  say,   what  is  pain  if  not  a  held  hand?
no  preference,   really,   between  being  surrounded  or  being  alone.     he  is  watching  and  watched.     this  is  a  foreboding  sense  that  has  followed  him  since  he  knelt  upon  the  pews  of  a  milked,   nevadan  church.     hearing  his  own  echoed  prayers.     his  own  devastating  god.

Helloooooo! May I ask if you have any fun headcanons about the LU boys?
-🦋🤠
Hello again Butterfly Rancher Anon! (Can I call you that? Is there another name you'd like to be called?) Thanks for the ask! (I was so excited to get this! No one has ever asked me for headcanons before!)
Here’s my Twili form headcanons for the gang! Let's start off with the easy ones.
Twilight – We already know he’s a wolf.
Legend – Same with Legend, he has been shown to be a bright pink bunny.
Time – Wolf – This is inspired by Linked Maze Time’s wolf form. I love the idea of having Twilight and Time being wolf buddies.
Wild – I like the idea of him being a fox. I think it fits very well with his extreme gremlin-ness and his capacity for stealth.
Warriors – I think Warriors would be a bear because of how mighty of a warrior he is and how protective he is of his troops, civilians, and those he’s sworn to protect.
Sky – Sky would be a remlit, which a domestic animal native to his home in Skyloft. A remlit is a creature that’s halfway between a cat and a lemur. Normally they are sleepy and fluffy and loveable but when they’re angry, they are fierce attackers with sharp teeth and claws – an accurate reflection of Sky’s personality if I may be so bold.
Wind – Sea otter! Sea otters are known for being silly and playful, loving and affectionate, but they are also known for being violent toward other species of animal, and not just the ones they eat. (Pirate behavior anyone?) (But Wind is nowhere near as bad as sea otters can be.)
Four – I think Four would most likely become a mouse because of is association with the Minish, which are mice-like creatures. But I could also see him being a beaver because beavers are industrious builders, similar to how Four is a blacksmith.
Hyrule – I really am undecided on this one. Personality-wise, I could see him being either a housecat or a fox like Wild (can you imagine the chaos of them both being foxes?). But he could also be a deer. (Also if he were a deer, it would provide greater variety in animal types amongst the Chain.)
Someday I want to write a "the whole Chain turns to animals" fic because that would be fun.
