on a completely separate note; shizun luo binghe with a disciple shen yuan who fell into the abyss??? *thinks about LBH canonically stealing SQQ's corpse for 5 years* he'd hallucinate i think. like, like visual and audial hallucinations.
Keeps thinking he's seeing SQQ in the corner of his eyes, or wandering between the trees, amongst a group of disciples. Thinks he hears him calling for him, but its just the wind or another disciple.
Gets Xiu Ya reforged but patently fucking refuses to make a sword mound. Because his disciple Is Not Dead :))) There was No Body. He's Not Dead. And If You keep Insisting That He Is, He's Gonna Skewer You :). He's holding onto Xiu Ya so he can return his most favored disciple's sword when he returns. It's on his hip right next to Zheng Yang where it's supposed to be.
Also this motherfucker?? does not sleep btw. He has the image of SQQ, wide eyed and hysterical and standing at the mouth of the abyss burned into his fucking eyelids. Can't use the dreamscape to escape it either because he keeps trying to save him and either he does and it's an incredibly cruel trick to wake up to, or he doesn't and he gets his heart broken in several different pieces again.
There is no convincing this man that Shen Qingqiu is dead. Absolutely nothing at all. He is buried so deep in denial that moles would be jealous of how deep he is. He keeps making tea for two in the bamboo house only to remember that it's just him. SQQ's fans are hiding everywhere, little reminders of his presence. He goes to wake up SQQ on the mornings he sleeps in-- only to find the room empty.

IF THIS HAD BEEN WHERE SQQ WAS THE HALF-HEAVENLY DEMON INSTEAD IT WOULD'VE BEEN SO GREAT.#and by great i mean horribly angsty bc SQQ is NOT doing too hot and has. in very SY-like fashion. convinced himself that LBH will kill him#when he finds out he's a demon. so when it comes out i have this mental image of him lunging at LBH and LBH flinches back. but SQQ wraps hi#hands around the blade of Zheng Yang and yanks it up so the tip of the blade is digging into his chest where is heart is. LBH can't yank th#sword away without risking slicing into SQQ's hands. SQQ's hair has fallen out of its tail/bun and is now messily spilling down his#back and its NO helping the kinda deranged look he has going on. he's visibly shaking and his eyes keep flittering away and back at LBH's#face. SQQ is looking at the messages from the system warning him that he has to go into the abyss or punishment will occur. he's like.#rambling though. talking about how shizun doesn't *like* unclean things and there is nothing more unclean than a demon. like he is#INSISTING. LBH can't?? get a fucking word in. actually. SY isn't listening that much either anyways. too overwhelmed with the system and#the amount of stress he's under and his crumbling mental state and the innate and primal desire to live even when he's standing in front of#his own executioner. it all ends with him sitting on the ground at the lip of the abyss with his hair falling in his face. he looks so#unkempt and fallen apart and so distinctly *non-Shen Qingqiu* that LBH feels physically ill over it. tears are streaming down SQQ's face#and despite everything he is smiling. its not a nice smile. its a very frayed falling apart at the seams about to crack smile.#he tells shizun not to worry about staining his blade with this disciple's filthy blood because this disciple will take care of it himself.#and then he falls into the abyss before luo binghe can so much as grab him. the only reason LBh doesn't literally jump in after him is bc#he was numb with shock and the abyss was already closed before he could feel his legs again :]

extremely funny to me seeing people say that Bertie has a heart of gold when his immediate solution to getting Freddie back together with his fiancée was to kidnap a child
#red randomness#jeeves and wooster#bertie wooster#100 and up neat#don’t get me wrong I love him dearly#but I think he like Watson and Bunny suffer from ‘he isn’t actually as nice as people think he is’ syndrome#because Bertie can be a judgy bitch! he’s resentful of several children! he makes unflattering judgments about appearances!#he told Sippy to steal a cop’s hat! he ripped a tag off his uncle’s gift and claimed it was his!#he told Jeeves to send Bingo a telegram telling him to KILL HIMSELF-#like#he is very dedicated to his insane friends even when they aren’t great to him#and he will go to great lengths for the people he cares about#and he will talk about how great Jeeves is to everyone who will listen and is better to him certainly than previous employers#and he’s a generally cheerful and amiable and friendly person#but heart of gold?? Perhaps Not#very few people in these stories are objectively entirely good and a lot of the humor and characterization comes from that#because you like Bertie despite it all. you love him and want him to be happy

I love that ppl think Puppy is from my childhood. I actually only met him about two years ago. I had a particularly tough therapy session and went to the toy store next door and met him there. But tbh it wasn't until like the last 6 months that he became like a really important guy to me

I do recommend it. all first 3 games (I haven't had the time to play the rest so I can't say anything about them)#but ace attorney is a visual novel game. technically 'only dialogue' and that isn't everyones cup of tea#it's very funny tho. and the characters are very likable. the plot is nice (although some parts can get a bit repetitive)#but yes. do give it a try. it's more about the plot than the gameplay if that makes sense#one of my favorite games of all time honestly. give ghost trick a try too if you want. it's very good as well#I guess you should try to go in the games 'blind'. no spoilers. but whatever you want#ace attorney#not art#if you do end up playing it (or watching the gameplay on YouTube idk) feel free to tell me if you liked it :)#I feel like I'm the least qualified person to ask for any kind of recommendation but then I remembered what some of my friends recommend me#to watch/play and I feel better about my taste in media#even if you don't like the game I really recommend you listen the the soundtrack of the great ace attorney

so i finally listened to AJR and especially this album and as i feared, it is the most relatable album i've ever heard. loved it.
#ajr#i already knew some older singles and i knew inertia (WHICH KICKS MY ENTIRE ASS)#but i forgot to listen to the album and today i remembered and OH MY GOD. A non-comprehensive list of Duke Thomas stories! :) These are not in any order, feel free to start with what sounds most interesting<3
Batman: Endgame--okay, mostly not in order. This story has admittedly very little Duke Thomas in it, but serves both as his reintroduction and as setup for his coming appearances(it is astoundingly easy to follow what comes next without this story, however, I skipped it when first reading WAR) if you are looking to read it, it's contained in issues #35-40 of Batman vol 2 if I recall correctly
We Are Robin--here we start in on the good stuff! This story is dark. It's bleak. Duke is dark, and bleak, and cynical. He's also quippy. And the entire series is about hope. Batman is gone. The heroes in general are gone. This is the aftermath of Joker wreaking havoc on everything and everyone, and it feels like no one's doing a damn thing. No except the mysterious Nest, and the Robins he's recruited. Truly one of my favorite comic series. Ever.
Batman and the Signal--if you can find the collected edition at the library or the secondhand shop, you should not skip it. Truly, a fun read. Duke tells Batman he "is the shit" and immediately regrets it. Daytime shift. The Hatch. Izzy and Riko. Jay. Just so much. Great times, what's not to love?
All-Star Batman--this has some overlap with the collected edition of BATS. You could totally just read the three issues of BATS and then All-Star Batman separately. The choice is yours. However, the meat of this series that is truly worth highlighting--bat and signal fucked up road trip! Compellingly complex and such a nuisance Harvey Dent! Duke plays flight tunes! Wonderful!
Batman and the Outsiders--another fun series! Bumblebee Bats(Cass and Duke bonding!) Evolution of Duke's powers! Probably one of the weaker series overall on this list but still very fun and worth reading!
Batman Secret Files: The Signal--this one comes with a warning: if you read this you will be Very Upset. Just as the rest of us are. Because it sets up a storyline that is Not expanded upon. That they completely dropped. This issue came out and there was no follow up. Is it good?... mileage varies? Personally, there was some good ideas set up, and some frustrating ones, but truly the biggest problem is that none of the ideas set up matter, because there was no follow up.
Once again, these are all just stories with Duke that I know of off the top of my head! He's had quite the short history, made shorter by DCs chronic inability to decide what the hell to do with him, but there's plenty to be found if you're looking! Please feel free to add your favorites to the list as well<3

the little girl at the bus stop just had the most enthusiastic, info-dump-y of rambles about how the bus that's coming is "literally the best bus" bc it's apparently bigger than the others which you "can see from its shape" and how great this bus ride is going to be
#so precious I stg#I adore this child that I don't know so much#and the lil boy listening to her giving her all attention was also very precious#then again I'm in a good mood anyway since I get to leave at 2 pm instead of 3 since I started work at 6 am#which was mostly to let the electrician into the rooms he still needs to check and test#and my boss was very kind and nice in his response to my long message about all the bs at work with my colleague#so I have the go-ahead to refuse to join the meeting on Friday which is great bc that was the biggest worry#colleague lady was still in a shit mood all day and fairly rude when I asked her a question ABOUT THE TASK SHE WAS MEANT TO DO#BUT WASN'T DOING bc she was “busy” as always and being short-tempered with everyone#but oh well. not gonna ask her abt anything anymore unless it can't be avoided. may she stew in her own frustrations#I bought cookies yesterday on my long walk home past the lovely paeonias at the park#so I'm gonna do my best to have good days anyway#the other colleague I had a tiny bit of beef with bc he kept closing tickets prematurely and I had a nice chat#and have come to an agreement on how to avoid this issue from now on bc apparently he's also doing five jobs at once#so fingers crossed that works for us but either way no hard feelings which is nice

What’s up tumblr hope you had a super fun leap day. sparkle on. big news my first seed start sprouted while I was at work ✨
#might have to change the url bc I’m in my collard era lol#my day was alright#I ate some shrimp curry that I’d accidentally left out all night and was fine bc I’m a scavenger of a person#then bc I started to feel PMDD fatigue I laid in bed with great elan til my shift started#then I spilled coffee all over my work clothes bc I stuck it in a very sketchy travel mug someone left in our house at the last party#and I listened to Screamin Jay Hawkins on the ride to work which was fun#work was a bit chaotic but uneventful and got to spend a huge chunk of it outside#it seems I have way better ball control than I did when I was a kid. whyyy now. i was such a loser I could have used some athleticism#but I’m so glad it’s the weekend so I can go palliative care mode which is what I call my lizard brumation pmdd phase#and stopped by a friend’s house after work which was nice#really rejuvenating#then made a sort of weird frittata w/ beets peppers and potatoes bc I was too tired to actually cook#watched sense and sensibility 1995 and really liked it although I found myself wishing for a bit more anguish. sorry#and I think I might set out one of the frozen almond croissants to proof overnight so I can bake it for bfast tomorrow#will go for a very short swim but probably only about 30 min bc of aforementioned fatigue. then pick up yogurt and a silly little treat#and will have ****** and **** for dinner either tomorrow or Saturday which will be nice#but really hoping Saturday because **** **** ** **** lol#and then Sunday I’m trepidatious about because **** was like what are you doing Sunday and I’m like well I guess having a fraught and#difficult conversation about our dynamic! lol#I’m very lucky to have proactive friends who are good communicators. truly I do not deserve his kindness. but like. god. let me retreat and#lick my wounds!#i shan’t get into it. but just know I know how S&G felt#and then another work week but I’m starting to really get a feel for the routine and what works and what doesn’t#and I’m excited for my next few meal preps we got millet and kale gratin#and a Lebanese chickpea dish the name of which unfortunately escapes me atm#but my mouth is watering thinking about it. saw a vid and was instantly influenced and went to the pantry to see if I had the stuff and I#dooooooooooo#and I do feel like I’m beginning to get past the worst of [event] and its sadness

9. Best childhood moment?
No single memory, but all my collective memories of going to visit my aunt and uncle at their lake-house are some of my favorites. I loved being on a boat and swimming is really the only way to get me physically active even now. But yeah, visiting there was always a blast and my favorite part of summer break as a kid.
14. What's something upcoming that you’re excited for?
Ngl, everyone in my fam has decided they're going to plan ALL they're events in fuckin October for some reason and I've just been trying to take it day by day recently. Honestly, my first thought was "for the holidays to be over" lol, because this shit is just getting started. 20. Tell us about a memory you hold close to your heart
Sneaking out to go star gazing on the roof with my best friend/partner ❤. I was still living with my folks at the time and they were still V E R Y helicopter-y even as I was going to college. I was finally getting fed up enough to start rebelling and around that time there was a small meteor shower going on that my partner's whole fam was planning to stay up for until like 3 A.M. He invited me and that might actually be the first time I've ever snuck out in the middle of the night. His fam turned in a bit earlier than they were intending, but myself and my partner stayed up until 4 just chatting and watching the shooting stars
26. If you could live anywhere with anyone you want, where would it be and who would you bring?
Nearby a lake ❤ with my partner. Ideally forestry in the front yard, and a big ass lake in the back. Really, I just love being near the water. Beaches are nice too, but I would much prefer to live by a lake. I live in a desert and summers. suc. It climbs up to 115F in summer and stepping outside immediately puts me in a bad mood and I hate it 💀.
#listen#deserts are very beautiful- under-rated- and important ecologic systems#that said-the only thing i hold against them is that i live in one#there are really only 3 things I like about living here#1. #i didn't get to do the sidequest i almost got though 😔#i exited my apartment. theres a guy outside and i greet him bc i assumed he was a neighbour#and he greets me back and then hes like im sorry i hopped over the fence as a shortcut idk if that's fine#nd then continued and said he'll check if he dropped something#and i'm like yea ok sure!#bc i was going to lidl and i wanted to get going but i did just stand there for a bit in case the guy needed help or something#then he emerged from the fence area and he was like ''if you find something in there can you pick it up akd put out a note'' and i was like#yea ofc! i'll do that if i see anything#and then he was like this is a very nice area so i trust people will let me know if i did drop something#and i was like for sure#im not great at smalltalk but he was very polite so i tried my best#also he seemed like he wasnt having the best time#he might have been on something bc he was slurring his speech and drooling a lot and there was a certain look in his eyes but honestly that#none of my business#we said bye and i sat in my car and then he was like ''hey actually i live like a minute away super close but my bag is super heavy#can i get a ride there it's super close next to [redacted]''#and i moved my bag from the front seat and was like ''yea sure''#and then he stared at me for a bit and was like ''actually i dont want to bother you have a nice day bye'' and left with a wave#i was like you too and waved back#he didnt look like he had any trouble walking so i came to the conclusion that he's fine and then went to lidl#but honestly i am a bit disappointed he didnt want me to give him a ride after all bc he seemed like he would have interesting things to sa#he was super polite and talked a lot and despite me being a finn i dont always mind strangers talking to me#bc if i have nothing important to do it's like. might as well!#another chat outside my apartment ive had was this old lady and she knew a lot about the history of the area we live in#and it was very interesting and also like i said if im in no hurry to go anywhere i love listening to ppl yap about whatever#i hope both the fence hopping guy and the old lady are doing good#leevi talks
