Oh geeze I’m bad at answering these because headcanons is so broad I don’t know where to start.

I mean, I guess the contrasting ones are I kept the OG story (I hate the rehash bc it makes him way too similar to Jake Park in backstory but also bc the OG of ‘his rich ass parents are like ‘Ok 😊 have fun living in squalor and working shit jobs bc you feel like it’s your truth love you!’ Totally sincerely is funny af.

My David is a bisexual. I heard they made him gay or bi canon finally which is great! (Can’t can’t remember which bc it was after I quit playing but either way, good to hear! And I feel seen by that.) He’s usually got a preference for men, which makes Laurie being his final crush kind of unusual for him but I mean, it’s Laurie, haha, although I don’t go into that much in ILM. He definitely had interest in Quentin, Adam, Laurie, and Kate and Jeff (more briefly) at times during ILM. 

David likes rollercoasters a lot. It’s weird bc he’s not the kind of person who’d suggest a theme park for an outing, like ever, but if he went he would be hitting the nastiest scariest fastest coaster 24/7 and everyone else without that stamina cries. Weird kind of thrill junky where he doesn’t actively seek out all the thrills he’d love but if he sees them he’s like ‘Oh fr👀?’

His teeth are not great. He’s missing at least a few, though he gets replacements. But they’re also just. Not pretty. Not in great condition evenness and stained.

Almost superstitious about crossing bridges. Well, he’d say that if asked why he looked antsy. Only Rowan ever caught me as far as I know, but I don’t write his dialect as an English accent. I gave him a Scottish vernacular instead. He deserved it. He’s friend shaped, and that was the appropriate accent. Besides, no full voice lines means no one could prove he did not grow up best friends with Scottish kids and pick up their accent. I think your looking at call me by your name from your persepctive rather than seeing it from elio's persepctive ( timothee chalamet) which is what luca was trying to convey. There is no doubt the armies character is a predator, grooming and exploiting elio. However Elio is unaware of that, what he sees is a man he is in love with, a man he admires and wants to be with. He views love with innocence thinking that this is two people who love each other and reciprocate that love. However in the end with the phone call his perception of his coupling with armie is instantly shattered b/c armie doesnt see elio the same way that elio sees armie. Armie treats elio as a fling but it also shows that he uses desire as a means to exploit elio.

call me by your name is looking at love through the lens of someone expereincing it for the first time, looking at how it can be all consuming and illogical and even dangerous.

I mean the films has its flaws but it also attempts to shift persepctives, rather than centering on armies character , it centers elio. Its the anti-lolita. Again I think execution could have been better for sure.

No I totally got ALL of that! I just couldn't get past the grooming aspect of the film. I mean, his character was not even a legal age of 18 years old (wasn't he like 17??), and for this grown man in his 30s, who's a friend and business partner to Elio's father (at that!) to be preying on a TEENAGER is just 🤮 to me.

Not only that, but the very blasè way in which his parents even handled the situation was kinda weird to me too! Maybe the mother didn't know, but the father for SURE knew! 🥴

Idk, I was just turned off by the end of the movie 😩 The movie was actually kiiiiindof boring to me.... Elio also seemed like he was going through a few things and puberty hormones raging or smthg, cuz of the stuff he was doing was 👀 lol 😂

But anyway, I felt for Elio in the end, and I thought Timmy did a very decent job in the film, but when the movie ended (abruptly mind you), I was sitting there thinking: "This was what people were raving about??" 🥴

I didn't like Armie's character AT ALL. Maybe he just viewed Elio as a fling, or maybe he really did love him back but just couldn't live as an outed gay man (I get it...especially during that time), but I still gave him the MAJOR side eye!! 😤

I just couldn't see why everyone saw it as this great love story. But maybe I need to re-watch it again and see if I get a different perspective on it. Maybe my expectations were way too high lol 😆

DNP were both back in London for the New Year (1, 2) and then had a relaxing early January (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), as usual. They also went to a VR bar with Martyn and Cornelia (1, 2, 3, 4). When Phil filmed and posted this video, he was home by himself. This is when Dan was in LA for mysterious meeting reasons (1, 2). They did talk a bit in one of the stereo shows that it was for potential joint projects.

Oh man, there’s a lot that deserve biopics, or new, better ones, or even mini-series.

Off the top of my head, Mediterranean/MENA people I think would make great subjects:

1. Hannibal Barca - Carthagian-Phoenician (Tunisian-Lebanese) general, probably the most formidable enemy Rome had. I also need a scene of Romans scrambling when they realize he’s coming after them. Or just the reaction to him bringing elephants into Europe! HANNIBAL’S AT THE GATES!

2. Ibn Battouta - Moroccan scholar & traveler whose adventures went farther than Marco Polo did. Would make a fantastic mini-series, each episode in a place.

3. El Cid - Castilian (Spanish) knight who was such a great battle strategist that the Moors dubbed him ‘the master’. There are entire sections of his life that blended into legend folklore.

4. Shajaret ad-Durr - Uncertain origins. Rose from harem/slave girl to Sultana/Queen of Egypt and after her husband died she became the last ruler of the Ayoubid dynasty and helped end the Seventh Crusade. Lots of court intrigue, including her struggle against her stepson Turan Shah. Her name means Pearl Tree.

5. Dante - Italian poet who wrote The Divine Comedy. It’d be pretty cool if it was stylized or allegorical, that we see his life’s events in context of his journey through Hell, Purgatory and Heaven.

6. Alexander the Great - that would need to be a mini-series or just focus on the last few years of his life if it’s a film because Oliver Stone’s movie was a mess.

7. Abu Nuwas - iconic Persian-Arab poet, would be a ground-breaking adaptation if they don’t censor the fact that he was gay.

8. ‘Antara bin Shaddad. Ethiopian/Arab (Saudi?) warrior-poet/knight who started out enslaved then became a legendary hero + forbidden romance - complete with battles and Abla’s father giving him crazy tasks to be worthy of her - that may have had a happy ending?

9. Michelangelo - Renaissance artists said to be divinely-inspired, they nicknamed him Il Divino. I just want to know what went on in that man’s head, how did he make such life-like art? How did he butt heads with Leonardo and Raphael? The drama between him and Pope Julius! Also, make fun of him for not knowing what women’s bodies look like.

10. Haroun al-Rashid. A lot went on during his life/time period. Maybe something semi-fictionalized about all the stories in One Thousand and One Nights that took place during his time/in his court/included him. He and Charlemagne were contemporaries, a lot could be done with that.

11. Saladin. Kurdish founder of the Ayoubid dynasty in Egypt. If not just about him, then a film about his experience dealing with Richard the Lionheart during the Crusades would be very engaging. There was an old movie about this called Saladin the Victorious but it’d be cool to see a modern, high-budget take.

12. Cyrus the Great - first Persian emperor, supposedly wrote the oldest-known declaration of human rights and treated the people he conquered with respect and gave them freedoms and protections.

Alternate #12. Sargon of Akkad: Sumerian (Iraqi) king who started out as a cup-bearer for the Assyrian king and rose to conquer Mesopotamia, the Levant and I think parts of Turkey.

13. Om Kalthoum - Egyptian singer with legendary stage presence and a rags-to-riches story, she was so popular and respected that even the West recognized what a big deal she was. (Also my mother says there’s a conspiracy that she arranged her rival Asmahan’s death 👀)

14. Agnodice - (legendary? semi-legendary??) Greek midwife who went to Egypt to get her education because Athens was crazy misogynistic. Returned and cross-dressed as a man to practice until men accused her of having affairs with their wives. She revealed herself to be a woman, they were going to execute her but all the women came to her defense and got the ban on female physicians lifted! I need this film now!

15. Cleopatra - not about her over-dramatized romance with Marcus Antonius or Caesar like the Elizabeth Taylor film. But about HER from start to finish, the Ptolemaic dynasty, what was that like? Did she off the brother she was married to as a child? What was it like becoming a female ruler? Just how calculated were her relationships with these Roman men? She was also the first of the Macedonians to depict herself in traditional Egyptian aesthetics, was highly intelligent, spoke several languages and very politically savvy, I want to see some insight into her choices and thoughts. No talk about her being pretty, but being brilliant please.

I heard something about a list of all the movies where Ewan appears naked and that there is some serious stuff over his stuff and I am ashamed but also intrigued to ask what 👀

Sksksksksk you came to the right person. I’ve made a list before of Ewan McGregor’s naked filmography. But aside from the basic list,if you want my personal opinion the best of those films are Trainspotting 1 & 2,Velvet Goldmine,The Pillow Book, Young Adam,and Perfect Sense.

Velvet Goldmine(1998) is about the 1970s British glam rock scene and follows the career of a fixtionalized David Bowie (played by Jonathan Myers) and his musical partner and eventual lover,a fictionalized Iggy Pop (played by Ewan McGregor). The movie itself is great just for the soundtrack and exposure of the 70s-90s British underground music scenes. The film changed queer representation in film and is one of the best in lgbtq film history. And this is my favorite role Jonathan Myers has ever played,but we’re here for McGregor. His character is just joyfully filthy and raunchy and he’s this drugged out American rockstar who literally could not give one iota of a single shit. In a scene where Ewan’s character is singing a live rock performance (and it is Ewan singing) he strips down completely naked,dances and generally goes insane,and we see him full frontal nude through the scene. There’s also a couple gay sex scenes and he literally rails Christian Bail on a rooftop 10/10 film all around.

Trainspotting 1 & 2 (1996 & 2017) Okay I’ll be completely honest here. Trainspotting is on my top 5 favorite films of all time list and I think it has the best movie soundtrack ever made. For those of you who’ve never seen it it’s based off Irvine Welsh’s book and highlights the heroin crisis and general drug crisis in Glasgow during the 1990s. Glasgow was the heroine capital of the world at the time and this movie,just as a note,changed film history in many ways,and changed how the public perceived drug addiction at the time of its release. Ewan plays the protagonist who is trying to get clean but all of his insane friends keep dragging him back into their shenanigans. But you guys don’t want my filmography essay,we’re here for Ewan’s dick and boy is it there! Ewan may be buzz headed and heroine skinny and pale as death but I would still absolutely get it. Trainspotting made history for Ewan’s nude scene,and while it’s brief,the whole movie is totally worth it. Its sequel which came out in ‘17 is genuinely so fucking good and is one of the few sequels I’ve watched that I’m deeply glad got made. It wouldn’t be Trainspotting without a naked Ewan McGregor and in the sequel he’s 20 years older with hair and I’d call him daddy, so double win. 10/10

The Pillow Book(1994) I won’t lie,it’s a Godamn weird and absolute bonkers of a movie. It’s a foreign film about a Japanese woman who has the kink of writing calligraphy on people’s skin and having it done to her. It is a fascinating and very blunt examination of women’s sexuality,especially in such a restricted culture for the subject as Japan in the early 90s. Ewan plays a British translater who falls in love with her. So half this movie is him buck ass naked with Japanese letters just painted all over him. He also is getting railed by his male publisher and there’s a very interesting scene where he’s just like,proffered to the man naked and covered in writing? It’s wild and the movie ends horribly but Ewan is also gorgeous and young in it and naked or fucking in almost every scene he’s in. I don’t know how to rate this one because anything where you can watch Ewan’s dick hanging around for like 30 minutes is great,but also the rest of the movie is like having a really weird dream when you’re crossfaded.

Young Adam (2003) This film is NC17 and is basically Ewan’s character trying to fuck every woman he’s ever met. He plays an English barge worker who is involved with the death of a woman who floats to shore where he works. So the film revolves around this woman’s death while he’s also fucking his boss’s wife (Tilda Swinton). The full frontal nude scene is brief but when he’s not naked he’s fucking in clothes and Ewan’s chemistry with Swinton is just *chef’s kiss* I also love how this film is shot and beyond hearing Ewan McGregor moan I actually wanted to know how this movie ended. 8/10

Perfect Sense (2012) God I love this movie,God I love this movie. Okay this one is mostly on the list because of how beautiful Ewan is in it and how much I just love the whole film. He is full frontal in it very briefly and there are some truly fantastic sex scenes,but Jesus this movie just makes me cry. Ewan plays a chef in Glasgow who takes smoke breaks under (Eva Green’s) window. She can’t stand him at first but it’s chef Ewan McGregor and no one can resist that. But the main part of the film is actually the end of the world and it hits way too close to home right now with Covid because it’s a disease that slowly start knocking people’s senses out one by one. The film is just so gorgeous and a truly moving examination of love and what it means to be human,and how that definition can change for us. But seriously,this is one of my favorite roles for Ewan,and he’s so astoundingly gorgeous in this movie and you can see his actual real tattoo the whole time so 10/10

These are just my favorites from his (full frontal)naked filmography. If anyone is a McGregor fan in general my other absolute favorites of his are Big Fish,Moulin Rouge and Zoe. (And Star Wars but also duh)
