Idk how many people noticed this but while rewatching gravity falls, in “Carpet Diem” when they find the secret room the first thing Stan notices and grabs are a pair of Fords glasses. Later in the episode we see him cleaning them on the couch.

While I would love to see next summer, I know we’re not going to get it. So here’s some other ideas:

Bills childhood and/or Bill in the theraprism

What Ford was doing in the other dimensions all those years

Ducktective /hj

Stan’o’War adventures

Book of Bill made into a show would be a cool premise tbh

I can’t think of anymore right now, but you get the point. We can have more Gravity Falls, without a season 3 about next summer.

Alright yall here’s my take on a gf season 3

(note: I firmly believe there probably won’t be a season 3 and I myself don’t necessarily want one. The story is over and the show is already peak, I’m good fr)

…….HOWEVER

My hypothetical season 3 would go back to FULL season 1 energy. No overarching plot, no crazy demon battles. Just episodic and character driven fun.

It’s a couple years later and the twins are maybe 15 or 16. They haven’t made it back to Gravity Falls til now (with their parents divorced, there were a couple moves, etc) but with the Grunkles back in town, they just had to make it back up there for the summer.

And from there, we’re right back into the interpersonal coming of age stories we’re used to with lots and lots of family bonding. There are episodes like:

Dipper and Mabel babysit Soos’ toddler

Pacifica working at the diner

Mabel and Ford bonding time where Mabel can show off her smarts and maturity when not looking after Dipper. Ford gets to relax and be creative for the first time in I think his life

Wendy freaking out about going into senior year and/or college. Deciding whether or not college is the thing for her or what she wants for her future.

Rich Fiddleford shenangins

Dipper and Stan bonding time with a lot of deconstructing the toxic masculinity that Stan grew up with and echoed back on to Dipper. Dipper getting to choose what kind of person he wants to become.

The gang helping Gideon as he goes around town desperately trying to find a new hobby

Dipper has a noir detective episode for some reason

Grunkle Ford ace reveal please please please please please please please please

Mabel and the girls get really into a trashy ya series and get to be delightfully cringe about it. They accidentally find Stan on a fan forum and they immediately drop it

Blubs and Dubs gay wedding

I could go on literally forever but I will not.

And don’t get me wrong, there still will be a strong element of the urban fantasy and cryptids we’re used to. We see the gnomes and the manotaurs and maybe Mermando again idk. Maybe we get to see actual vampires this time (could tie into the ya series episode) or see an alien or they get stuck in a time loop. Anything goes! As long as it’s self contained.

And will there be any Bill content? I honestly don’t know. My instinct is to say no (or at the very least keep it to the finale again). But whatever it is, it should NOT have redemption for Bill- only closure for everyone involved. And maybe the Pines family can hit him like a piñata again…this is 100% included in family bonding time category.

I don’t want a season 3 of Gravity Falls. If anything, I’d want a Gravity Falls equivalent to Adventure Time Distant Lands. 45-ish minute specials to tell stories that maybe they could fit into the original series or take place before/after the initial series. Kinda like Lost Legends. I think that’s what would be best for the series

may i ask for your opinion on the incoming season 3 of gravity falls?

I assumed it wasn’t happening. I think if it does happen it should be a spin off instead of a continuation of the show. Just because I think it ended perfectly and I would want to know more about Stan and Ford’s past. Or even exploring what they did on the Stan o’ war.

I also would love if we got to know more about what happened in the portal with Ford. I think if I’m remembering correctly Alex said he would make a season 3 but Disney owns the show not him?

I also really like the au people have been drawing about Bill’s redemption arc, I think it’s called handyman au? I definitely love this creator’s idea of human Bill. spoonyspine on TikTok

Dipper in High School Gravity Falls

Dipper pov ~

I walk through the halls, trying to find my geometry class. Gravity Falls High is similar to California’s local one in a way, but it does have a different feel to it that I can’t quite place my finger on. I’m glad I dont have as much of a sweating problem as I did when I was twelve, or there would’ve been a lot more than just my nerves showing through.

I end up in an empty hallway with no one around. “Okayyyy, great, where was I going again? Room 208 A,... in the math hallway? There are different hallways for different subjects? And what hallway am I in? The english hallway- What a load of- "" Hay?” Before I could curse, a peppy, girly voice pops up behind me.

I turn to see a smiley redheaded girl standing behind me. Her hair was long and wavy, and she was wearing a band shirt with a long sleeve plaid shirt over it. “Are you new? You’re looking kind of lost there buddy.”

I feel my face flush slightly. “O-oh, ummm, yeha I was looking for my geometry class and I got kind of lost.” She smiled and came closer to me “Yea, I remember my first day here. For a small town, we have a pretty big school. They always focus on giving us these GIANT school renovations insead of making cool landmarks out of the town."

" My gruncle stan actually runs,- well, used to run the Mystery Shack in the forest!" The girl looked at me excited. "Holy crap, dude, i use to love going there! The stuff in that place is way cooler than the stuff they teach in school." She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and i notice the freckes scattered across her skin like stars. I get a flutter in my stomach, reminding me again of when I was twelve and had a crush on Wendy Corduroy, the old cashier who used to work at the Mystery shack.

"Hey, if you ever want to come over and see a tour of the shack behind the scenes after school, I don't think Soos would mind!". She looked at me, and I might be thinking too far ahead, but i swear her cheeks went a little pinker. "That sounds fun! Id love to come over." The bell rings, signaling that the classes have already started.

" Okayyy, im gonna take you to your class now, my class is just over here, so im just gonna run and let my teacher know." I feel myself go a little red from embarrasement. "Oh, no you dont need to do that-" "Hey i insist! Besides, i kinda wanna hear more about this tour you're gonna give me."

She runs into the class down the hall, and i see a glimpse of the band on her shirt. BABBA. I smile to myself, and i realize we dont have each others names yet. She comes back out, and we start to walk. "Hey, mystery boy, can i have your name? Im Piper." I smile "My names Mason, but you can just call me Dipper." "Nice to meet you, mystery boy."
