Neo is trying to run from Judau and GM Cannon II, both of who are attempting to restrain him.

"Let...go of me!! It's my fault!! It's my fault Dabat is destroyed..."

"Your fault?"

"So are you connected to that thing?"

"...I don't know. I don't remember anything. But, I get a feeling of familiarity..."

"Neo, are you an enemy?!"

Neo breaks free and goes to take a machine soldier to protect Dabat despite not knowing if he is their ally or enemy.

GP01 continues to fight Atomic Gundam, taking more and more damage. Then another machine soldier shows up.

It's Neo Gundam using a mass-produced machine soldier. He fights Atomic Gundam, and, to GP01's surprise, is WINNING.

However, this stops when his concentration is broken upon Atomic Gundam mentioning that this is expected of one of the pilots of the Armor Gods, allowing the giant to attack and capture Neo.

"Retreat! We have no need to remain in Dabat!!"

"What are...the Armor Gods? I don't remember..."

"Don't worry, you will when we return!!"

"Let him go!!"

GP01 uses Granrex's Ace in the Hole, the Electric Needle, to predictable results.

"GP01 is... an ally.."

"El...El...El...ga...ia... "

"ELGAIYA-!!!"

"What?!"

"Who's name is that....it just appeared in my head..."

A light appears from the sky and destroys most of the Delaz machine soldiers and cuts off Atomic Gundam's arm. Following that, it grabs Neo Gundam and puts him in the cockpit. This is Elgaia, the crimson machine soldier.

Elgaia destroys the machine soldiers and damages Atomic Gundam enough to force him to retreat with the rest of the army.

After the sky castle vanishes, Neo reappears, explaining he doesn't know the meaning behind Elgaia, except one thing: he saw six lights in his mind while piloting it. He assumes that this is the "six" he needs to gather, calling back to his first words to Knight GP01.

This leaves the group with their next order of business: find the "six" before Delaz becomes unstoppable.

SD Gundam Gaiden Knight Gundam Kikoushin Densetsu: Chapter 1

The new tankobon releases come with this character guide.

This takes place 3 years after the events of Seikihei Monogatari, which ends in Superior Dragon and Gunrex vanishing, leaving behind GP01 to protect the world.

Only a few pages in and we're already starting with a Machine Soldier fight.

*note: Machine Soldiers are the general name of the mecha in the Gaiden universe.

This turns out to be a test battle for Granrex, a new machine soldier built by Seabook and his father based on Gunrex so GP01 could do his duty of protecting the world better.

Nearby kingdoms are being attacked by flames falling from the sky. Summoner Roux reveals that the next targets are Brox Forest and Dabat, as it creates a wyvern formation.

GP01, Judau, and GM Cannon II go to investigate, and end up seeing it firsthand. They turn out to be air ships launching machine soldiers.

"A human's coming out of the forest...no, they're MS clan!!"

"We've found Neo Gundam!"

"Capture him!"

GP01 saves Neo from an attack and he says something cryptic:

"Six...gather the six..."

This unsurprisingly confuses everyone.

GP01 and co are rescued from the machine soldiers by their ally, Windy Zeta, whose mech can fly. Turns out Dabat is under attack now and GP01 needs to sortie to counter it.

End of chapter 1. I hope the format isn't too confusing.
