LET ME TELL YOU About... Oriental Dance! A truly ancient dance tradition, a regional dance style that has evolved and transcend time. Oriental Dance can vary in representation, rhythm, costumes, etc, depending on what country we focus on. Oriental Dance / Raks Sharqi is actually Arabic Dance, yes! as in the Middle East, but since it includes other countries like Turkey, or Iran (different language), oriental dance is a more appropriate regional description. Point being is that regardless of specifics, this beautiful dance style comes from ancient times and from far away small villages, or urban homes in cities like Jerusalem, Cairo or Beirut. Oriental Dance radiates history, empowerment, celebration, community and connection. The term ‘belly dancing’ has become popular, but, is not an accurate nor a gentle name.
