Originally, I wanted to project the video of dancing light into the wonder box. Therefore I crafted a smartphone projector, but it didn't work at all, the video was not to be seen in the box. Instead I layered a photo of the wonder box with the video to make it appear like the video was projected inside.

“As If Snowing”, City Contemporary Dance Company, Shouson Theatre, Hong Kong Arts Centre

Straight-down-the-line contemporary dance. No great surprises in its 65 minutes, but still a satisfying, sturdy piece of work. Mature performances from its three dancers, Qiao Yang, Kelvin Mok and Luo Fan – they knew what they were doing. Choreography by Sang Jijia that probed but never quite broke new ground. OK music. Some AI-warped video.

Sometimes one would like a bit more. But sometimes, also, just getting something good is good enough. This show fell into the latter category.
