Getting caught up on my storyboard posting, this time for Star-Robics! Written by Ben Kurzrock, Charlie Jackson and Stephen Herczeg and supervised by Tim Prendergast! I never thought that one day I'd get to draw conceringly jacked sea stars, Actual Dinosaurs, or do an incredibly fun 1930s inspired montage with outdated and likely dangerous exercise equipment for television... much less all in the same episode! The '30s montage was especially fun and indulgent to do, and getting to do all these fun perspective shots with the dinosaur and big, muscly Patrick was a great way to get out of my comfort zone.

Finally got around to watching the “Goodbye Internet” video from Matpat…

I’ve watched him for as long as I can remember. He was right next to Markiplier and Jacksepticeye. Knowing that he’s leaving soon hurts so fucking much.

Yes, it’s nice to see him go live his life. Yes, it’s nice that Tom is taking over (I expected either him or Ash) Game Theory. Yes, I know he’ll be there in the background and on special occasions.

It hurts, though. It’s bittersweet.

I know he won’t read this, but

Thank you Matpat. Thank you for everything you’ve done for your community and me. You have pulled me out of so many bad times and you’ve given me so many laughs. Yea you’ve had some moments with theories that made me cheer from a distance instead of right there with you, but I never gave up hope and love. Thank you for being there.

Yknow, I think that at its core, YouTube has always been intertwined with its golden era, always connected to the voices of the past that linger on. As much as I’m distraught that MatPat is retiring, I know why. He’s joining the ranks of our favorite people who are just getting older, those are DanTDM, Stampycat, Jacksepticye (i cant ever spell his name right lol), Markiplier, and now MatPat of the Game Theorists.

i don't think that anyone manning the Theorist Channels will ever have the same gut impact that MatPat did. I think that at its core, youtube has fundamentally changed, wether that be for the better or worse. I think that while even after MatPats final theory releases, even after becoming GrandPat, I think that the new people manning the channels just can’t get the same huge impact that MatPat did

Part of MatPat’s impact was growing up with the channel, growing up alongside a channel finding its footing, finding its style if you will.

Know what? MatPat, Go and whip and nae-nae into the sunset, join the ranks of the voices of our past that have either been taken from us, simply hasn't had the energy to go on, and the voices that have gotten older, and grown up with their audience.

MatPat, thank you, thank you for creating childhoods since April 8th, 2011 <3

okay. i've calmed down, here's my thoughts on matpat leaving

it fucking sucks. like, it blows that we won't get much of him this year, and i absolutely need him the most since i fucking graduate this year and i'm just not ready for it. the game theorists were my sense of escapism and comfort. i never watched the fnaf theories (i'm not that much of a masochist) but i did watch his other theories and i thought some were fine. i liked to watch gt live for the analog horror reactions so i could watch it with him (i'm kind of a wuss when it comes to horror -w-") it sucks that he has to go but in all honesty......

i'm still happy for him. i never saw him as dadpat or grandpat (although that part did make me cry), i always saw him as that type of hyperactive friend that just shares everything they're interested in. does it get annoying? yeah, sometimes. but it was always something he was passionate about. and now he's moving on and passing the torch onto other folk. and i'm glad for it

it doesn't matter if he may have gotten the fnaf lore wrong or said some out of pocket things in the past. i literally could care less and if you come here to comment just that, i don't fucking care. this man has helped me go through some tough times and i don't know how i can ever thank him enough for it
