Can't help but imagine Arthur and Merlin playing matchmaker for their children the way Violet Bridgerton does hers. Arthur introducing them to people he thinks they'll take an interest in. Merlin subtly pushing them to the right action when courting drama pops up. Both of them ensuring that, while there are some matches that are more beneficial for the kingdom, their children know that their parents will not force them into a marriage they are not happy with and it's okay to choose a love match over an alliance with a neighboring kingdom
Will: Papa you're not mad about me choosing Bonnie over Princess Lola are you? Arthur: Son I changed several laws so that I could marry my manservant, I have no room to judge. At least Bonnie's the daughter of 2 knights, the council will have much less to complain about compared to my choice of spouse. My only issue is did she have to be Gwaine's daughter?
Merlin: Tell me, is there a reason you tend to throw Sir Moris around on the training grounds so much? Morgan: If this is your way of asking if I fancy Sir Moris and I'm pulling his pigtails instead of dealing with it properly then I'm sorry to tell you but you're off the mark on this one mama. I have more maturity than my lizard-brain little brothers. Merlin: Then why do you always push yourself so much harder when he's at training? The only other difference is that when he's not there his sister's not...oh Morgan are you trying to show off to Elise by beating up her brother when she watches training? Morgan: ...Maybe. Merlin: Alright, let me give you some advice on how to charm her without sending her family members to see Gaius.
Random Lord: My son has quite the talent for forging and metalwork. He's been asking to become an apprentice for my local smith. Arthur: Really? My second son Tristan is a talented bladesmith, he makes all his weapons himself. We should introduce them to each other.
Merlin: You certainly don't look ready for tonight's feast Freya: I'm not going down I'm...feeling sick Merlin: Ah, I'm quite familiar with this sickness. However you're not going to find the cure by moping in your bed all night. Freya: But going into the banquet hall will only make it worse. How can I face Lady Roslin after today? She hates me. Merlin: Did she say that? Freya: ... Merlin: Well her family leaves tomorrow, tonight might be your last chance to find out for sure

Throughout this whole sequence the angels can't come into the bookshop until Aziraphale specifically invites them.
"Shall we discuss it inside?"
"By all means."
They still stand outside.
"Would you like to come in?"
They go inside.
The bookshop was already shared between Aziraphale and Crowley by then. It's theirs. The abode of an angel and a demon.

Diplomacy: a Net of Embellished Lies
Fandom(s): Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Heroes of Olympus
Rating: G
Summary: Five times Nico lied to the people around him, and one time he told the truth.
Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3 - Chapter 4 - Chapter 5
AO3 link
Chapter 6: The Truth
I may have used you, but Nico used you and lied about it.
That’s what Gaea had said. But Gaea would have said anything back in that suffocating mud in Alaska for Hazel to let go.
You’re wondering if we can trust the guy. So am I.
Jason’s words had cut deeper than Hazel was willing to admit out loud.
The few months she’d known Jason before his disappearance the year before, he’d always seemed like an agreeable boy. Perhaps a bit reluctant as a leader, Hazel had always found his jolly disposition faked to a certain degree, it made her think he wasn’t all too sure about what he was doing, but he’d always been honest and hardworking. And above all, he’d been understanding.
That empathy had clearly dissipated like hot steam when you opened the window after a shower.
Hazel sat on a comfortable armchair in her cabin, next to the sleeping form of her brother.
After the absolutely ghastly day they’d had, she thought he deserved to sleep properly. And that he wouldn’t do if he was alone after the whole ordeal he’d been through. Much less on a ship with hostile allies.
She wasn’t sure how long he’d actually rest, he’d refused to go to bed for a long while, offering to take up the first few watches above deck, but eventually Hazel had coerced him into at least trying to get some shuteye.
He looked small, exhausted, too thin and gaunt. And yet, there was such an angelic definition to his sleeping face that Hazel had no doubt the prophecy’s line, ‘twins snuff out the angel’s breath’, wasn’t only referring to his surname.
Angels, however, weren’t supposed to lie.
Hazel’s idea of an angel was heavily influenced by the nuns in her childhood school. Sammy had once commented that biblical angels weren’t the cute cherubs they painted in churches, but in spite of all the reasoning he’d given, Hazel had still imagined a young-looking, humanlike creature dressed in a white tunic, and who did acts of good in the name of an all-forgiving God.
Hazel couldn’t quite believe in God after everything that had happened both to her and to the people she loved, but in her mind, Nico di Angelo was nothing short of a guardian angel.
He’d rescued her from death itself, guided her in a world that had changed almost entirely, led her to a safe space where she could try to belong. He was a shoulder to cry on, and a source of knowledge of all things mythical. Every time Hazel had felt everything was overwhelming, or whenever her blackout memories were happening too frequently, Nico had been there to offer his support. All of that in exchange for nothing.
Had it been in exchange for nothing?
Hazel’s brain was battling itself.
One side was falling prey to Gaea’s, Octavian’s, Jason’, even Leo’s mistrust. Nico had lied. He’d hidden important information from her, he’d lied openly to Percy, he’d betrayed Camp Jupiter’s hospitality by refusing to acknowledge the existence of another section of demigods.
The opposing side called all of that bullshit. Nico was her brother, the only family she had in this century. None of his lies had been personal, nor had he kept information for nefarious purposes.
“You look troubled.”
Nico’s sluggish voice startled her.
He’d woken up and was looking at her with concern.
“It’s nothing,” Hazel said, trying to clear her expression.
Nico raised an eyebrow. His manner reminded Hazel of their father.
He stretched like a cat, crossed his legs, and leaned with his back to the wall and her comforter around him like a cocoon, despite the Mediterranean summer’s heat.
“You are a terrible liar,” he said.
Unlike you. But Hazel couldn’t tell him that, could she?
Hell, of course she could. But whatever anger or mild betrayal she felt wasn’t strong enough to want to hurt him.
“I hope you’re feeling better,” she said instead.
Nico shrugged. “Physically, yeah, I guess.”
“Is your Catholic guilt acting up again?” She asked.
Nico snorted. He seemed to be on the brink of despair. “It was my fault. I should have been quicker.”
“I could have been quicker too,” she told him. “And the rest. But even demigods have limitations.”
Nico wasn’t looking at her.
“If they didn’t have to rescue me,” he muttered. “Percy could have gone to Annabeth sooner.”
“Even Percy has limitations, Nico,” she argued. “They would have fallen earlier, perhaps. What if they fell and we didn’t even know what had happened to them?”
He didn’t look much relieved.
“We will find them,” Hazel promised.
Finally, Nico looked her in the eye.
“Yes,” he agreed. “We will. I owe them that and more.”
“Why?” She asked.
“Why what?”
“Why do you ‘owe them’ so much?” She wondered.
“This and that,” he said, waving his hand dismissively.
“No.”
The firmness in her own voice surprised her. And her brother too, his eyes snapped up to meet hers again.
“It’s always the same with you,” she told him. “You hide your past and expect the rest of us to ask no questions because ‘Pluto sent you’ and nobody dares challenge that. But it wasn’t Pluto who sent you, was it?” Hazel breathed in to give herself some courage. “It was Hades. You’ve been lying to us —to me— since last year!”
Nico had the decency to look ashamed. His cheeks were flushed and his eyes were fixed on the sky outside her window.
“He told me not to—,” Nico started. “Father, I mean. He told me to pretend to be one of you guys. He said it would be easier if I made myself pass for a Roman demigod. Children of Pluto may be considered bad auguries but they’re better than a Greek demigod —you’ve seen how Octavian’s like—.”
“How did you find out about Camp Jupiter?” She inquired.
“Father told me,” he answered. “I saw Jason and Reyna last year in Mount Tam. They were scouting the enemy lines, and so was I. I was curious because, well… because I’d never seen them before, and demigods that age weren’t likely to be alive without some training.”
“Did father tell you then?”
Nico huffed. “As if. He told me they weren’t enemies, that was all I needed to know, and that I stayed well away from them.”
“Which of course you ignored,” Hazel guessed.
Nico made a more-or-less gesture with his hand. “Father knew I wouldn’t leave it fully alone. But the war had begun, and I had to spend most of my time convincing him to be part of the battle.”
Hazel swallowed down the envy she felt at Nico so casually being invited to converse with their father. Pluto had ignored her for her whole life with the exception of two minimal conversations, yet Hades had allowed his 12-year-old son to convince him to take part in a battle.
Still, it wasn’t Nico’s fault.
“And then I saw you,” Nico continued. “I knew you were one of them, whatever it was they were, not a Greek demigod. But you were also my sister, I couldn’t leave you down in the Underworld if you could have another chance!”
“How did he react to that?” Hazel had never asked that before. Maybe she’d been afraid the answer would be awful.
Nico shrugged. “He wasn’t exactly happy I was messing around with life and death. But he was glad, I think. Your death was an unfair thing, he’d been upset about that.”
Hazel doubted Hades, or Pluto, or whatever he wanted to be called, had been upset necessarily, but it was kind of Nico to suggest it.
“Anyway,” her brother said. “He had to explain then, I couldn’t just take you to Camp Half-Blood. Chiron realised Jason didn’t belong immediately. He’d have known about you too, and he doesn’t like me at all, he wouldn’t have let you stay.”
“What about the ambassador thing?” She wondered. “Was that real or was it just an excuse to give you some leverage?”
“He told me to use that name,” Nico said, giving her a funny look. “I would never have come up with that alone, I don’t think I fit very well in the diplomatic category.”
“You know how to bend the truth to your convenience,” she argued. “A pity you hate people, you could have gotten far in life with that.”
Nico gave her a wry smile. “My grandfather was a diplomat, did you know?”
Of course she didn’t. She didn’t even know his mother’s name.
“I see you got the unsociable genes from the other side of the family,” she commented.
“Or from his wife,” Nico offered. “My nonna hated people too, but she was cleverer than I, because she knew through gossip you could blackmail others so she endured social events all the same.”
“Sounds charming,” Hazel deadpanned.
“Hard times, I suppose,” he said.
“Because of the war?”
Nico shook his head. “Because she was a woman born in the nineteenth century, more like.”
There was a moment of silence. Not too charged, Hazel thought. She’d learned more about Nico in a quarter of an hour than she had in almost a year.
Nico leaned forward and took her hand.
“I’m sorry,” he said. Hazel knew he meant it. “I should have told you sooner. I…” He sighed. “At first I didn’t know if I could trust you. Don’t take it personally! I— I hate being disappointed by people, it’s easier to keep everyone at arm’s length. And then, as the time passed I thought —perhaps I hoped— that I could ditch the Greek side. In Camp Jupiter people may be wary of me, mistrustful now, but they’re not scared. I liked being there as if I belonged.”
Hazel squeezed his hand. She wasn’t sure why Nico owed so much to Percy Jackson if he wanted to leave that part of his life behind so badly, but she thought Nico had told her enough, it could wait for another day.
“You’ll always have a place in Camp Jupiter,” she promised him. “When we get back—” Not if, when. “Well, either we’ll be killing each other or we’ll leave all this resentment and hate behind. Let’s hope for the second one.”
“Mild difference, those two outcomes,” he stated.
Hazel rolled her eyes. “Let me put it in other words: either we’ll both be dead, or you’ll have a place in the Twelfth Legion if that’s what you want.”
Nico snorted a laugh. “Sums it up nicely.”
“Now let’s go eat something,” she pulled from his hand and got him up, comforter poncho included. “I’m starving, and I want you to eat something too.”
“I—”
“At least a couple of grapes, as an apology to me,” Hazel insisted. “And to whoever else you’ve been dishonest to in the past year.”
Her brother didn’t look amused.
“Fine.”

Grancelor thoughts...
I don't care what the game says. I'm going to make it canon that he redeems her without the romance and dips into witch with her as his patron. 😏
I was planning on using the Call of the Wild mod to get the witch class and even though this isn't a choice of archetype (it's even a 3rd party one), this is what I'm shooting for story-wise:

On pen shows and being happy with what I have
Over the weekend of July 12-13 was the NW Pen Show here in Portland. (The Well Appointed Desk has a good writeup here.) As someone who considers themselves a fountain pen enthusiast, I had been looking forward to attending for some time. And since it was happening a few days after my return from the UK, I knew I’d be around. But when the weekend approached, my enthusiasm dwindled, and I didn’t…

I've been thinking about my version of the Merlin characters next generation (Merthur's 4 kids, Gwencelot's kids, Leowaine's daughter from one of Gwaine's old one-night stands) and I've started pairing them off a bit. Primarily I've gotten attached to the idea of Merthur's eldest son William falling for Leowaine's daughter Bonnie. A good bit of it is their personalities and them having a childhood-friends-to-lover dynamic but I also just like the idea of Arthur being happy for his son until he realizes that this will make him and Gwaine in-laws
Arthur: Bonnie is an excellent young woman and will make a fine queen one day when Will takes the throne. They have my blessing. Gwaine: Well then, I look forward to you joining the family princess. Or maybe I should start calling you princess-in-law Arthur: ...is it too late to take back my blessing? Merlin: Yes it is Leon: Gwaine stop antagonizing our future king-in-law Gwaine: *snorts* Arthur: Gwaine's influence has annoyingly rubbed off on you over the years Leon

SM Boycott/Protest Check-In Tarot Reading
Covering the company reactions/feelings abt the protest as well as relevant developments.
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: I am not God.
Deck used: Book of Shadows Vol 2.
How is SM feeling about the physical protests?
Tumblr media
6 of Swords
King of Pentacles
Okay so generally I do believe the protests were successful in that after a dark time seeing such a solemn sight (the death wreaths) they are witnessing how much love and support Seunghan actually has around the world. So in general they see this effort to protect someone in the protest, they see it as a valid reason to be protesting, and they respect it to an extent now.
How is SM feeling about the boycotts?
5 of Wands
2 of Swords
They feel quite different about this. It's very conflicting. They see the actual srriousness with this one. Even if they think it will lead to some further conflict - and I do think they don't necessarily see it as a long term threat- but it is messing with their engagement. They are thinking about this logically and how it will progress if nothing is done. They're also making moves to counter this.
That being said, it's not a worry, it's an annoyance and they are just not 100% it will stick and are weighing out if they even want to find out. That is how they feel about the international stores not stocking stuff and lack of engagement/follower loss. They wonder if it's necessary to go so far. They are also wondering if this will carry over into other SM artists' merch, engagement and content over time. For now, they are just observing and taking countermeasures.
How are they feeling overall about the public outcry for Seunghan's return?
Tumblr media
9 of Pentacles
Ace of Chalices
They are lowkey pleased? Or proud? I think a lot is coming through regarding the fact that Seunghan was wrongfully pressured to be kicked out and bullied very harshly by being sent those wreaths. They are in a position where they understand the public sentiment and why they are on his side. There is more empathy here and they see that if he did come back plenty of people WOULD spend money to see it (the employees who said intl fans don't spend money on blind basically eating their words like idiots). Their perception of the situation has shifted positively and in favor.
How does SM feel about the potential return of Seunghan?
Tumblr media
Knight of Pentacles
I believe they support it. They think it would be a better long term investment than relying on keeping fans who always cause trouble happy. They think they can build something good if they take their time to access things instead of being so quick to fall back on important decisions due to blatant bullying the way theybdid in the first place.
Now I'm going to do a detour bc I was asked if Lee Sangmin has a roll in this/him being sussy on his sns.
How does Director Lee Sangmin feel about the potential return of Seunghan?
Tumblr media
6 of Pentacles
Death
He does not like it. Really nasty vibes here. He feels as though Seunghan has been given enough grance despite his "crimes". Also, some of yall asked me about his post- something along the lines of someone needing to be a sacrifice for the rest to survive. The Death card is a confirmation that this is what he thinks about Seunghan and his situation. Just very like...old morals/beliefs about the situation, and I think it's because SM's solution has always been to kick people out. It's just very not good overall.
So this is an indicator that yes he likely had everything to do with convincing Seunghan things would get better for the others if he just left. Ew.
Do the other "playmakers" agree with him?
Tumblr media
The Emperor
3 of Pentacles
"Playmaker" includes any employee at SM who has a significant** say in whether Seunghan can return- more so than the company's collective. So there is an overbearing energy here. I will preface this by stating i did have to restart this entire reading at some point due to issues- and when i first pulled for this question the exact same vibe was present so I am being very fr here.
Basically, with the Emperor and 3 of Pents here, do they "agree"? Yes? It's more like they agree as a collective because of the overbearingly dominant opinion of Lee as a leader/dictator type role. So, do they as a collective agree? Yes. But it's not really collaborative the way the 3 of Pents usually is. It's overseen by the Emperor, who demands his opinion be favored.
Would they agree if not for Lee's influence?
The Hanged Man Reversed
So yeah, no. Collectively, they would flip the dial on it's head if they did not have to cater to this person's opinion. They would vehemently resist being swayed otherwise. It seems the other people involved prioritize the members at the end of the day but Sangmin is obsessed with cutting his losses. They would like to resist if they could do so but they also may not be aware that they very well can.
Detour is now rerouting back---
What effect will Riize's return have on the "playmakers" and the fact that they are swayed by Lee?
Tumblr media
The Devil
8 of Swords
10 of Swords
This is very much akin to being slapped awake. Even though Lee Sangmin has a lot of influence, the issue is that the company still runs on logical arguments. The employees are much more worried about getting fired or targeted than Riize, and Riize are much more likely to open their mouths against something.
So essentially I can see the other playmakers kind of retracting on their stance after hearing what Riize has to say, i think they will really have no arguments because they will be so thorough. I mentioned in the members readings that Sungchan and Eunseok in particular are better with their words for this- I think this will be very significant and what they have to say will be very very significant. Sungchan in particular is coming with every argument prepared. Eunseok is more so in charge of relaying how everyone feels in a mature and logical way. With this in mind, it's very likely the playmakers will open their eyes and shed their handcuffs here.
Will Lee Sangmin change his stance on Seunghan?
Tumblr media
10 of Wands
He will have no choice to unless he wants to look old and senile. I think the fact that he has such old ideals and outlooks on idol drama is coming into play here. He is holding onto what he thinks is appropriate while everyone else watches and shakes their head. He is scrambling to uphold these principles, but everyone else is already out the door, leaving him behind. He will hold on, but for how long and at what cost? He will be the last one trying to uphold his opinion alone, and it will be burdensome.
Most likely outcome overall?
Tumblr media
Strength
Knave of Swords
Idk if yall remember- but this is literally the pull I had regarding the feelings Riize has for OT7 Briize....coincidence? I think not...
Lets trust them. I'm going to leave it at that for this pull.
Final notes:
Let's be patient and wait. Let's not speculate tiny hints anymore that stress us out. If i do not reply tobyour ask regarding hints or confirming them anymore- its not bc i disagree- but because i want to limit talking about them now even if i do agree so that the people who are anxious and visiting my page do not fall into that hopelessness. Because some people do not know how to accept only positive information and absorb everything positive or negative to their own detriment.
Anyways, i think we just need to have faith, continue supporting the boycott and Seunghan, and wait.
Please eat well and take breaks from updates, guys. No Twitter doomscroll. I'm so serious. Go watch Corpse Bride or Nightmare before Christmas. Just chillax.
Stay healthy and happy babies 👶

Hey guys! Thank you so much for all the love you've given to my Sims versions of Merlin and the knights!
Since there's interest in my Merlin save I will be sharing some stories about what's been happening in that world. However, before I do I feel I need to explain the way I play this save since it's not your standard Sims 3 fashion. I typically play rotationally, spending a week with each family before moving on and using nraas story progression mod to keep everyone from aging while I'm not there. My nraas setup also keeps sims from changing their relationship status or progressing in their careers when I'm not playing them but they can meet new sims, make friends, declare enemies, and start up a bit of a flirtation on their own. I like coming back to a household and seeing what dynamics have formed when I leave them to their own devices, though I get the final say on what romantic interests they end up pursuing.
Now that's just my standard setup for most of my games. For my Merlin save I decided to add some interest by using Merlin characters for my own version of The Medieval Charter Challenge! For those unfamiliar The Medieval Charter Challenge is basically a sims 2 build-a-kingdom challenge where you start with a small settlement and slowly build your world up until you have a medieval city. There are a lot of rules including a tax system and class structures that I'm not going to go over but if you're interested you can check out the original rules here For those of you who are familiar with the challenge just know that I've tweaked some of the rules to fit better with the sims 3 and I don't always follow them strictly. I treat them more like guidelines than actual rules, especially since I'm using pre-established characters, some of which have magic which opens up excuses for all sorts of shenanigans. So if you see me doing something that doesn't follow the rules don't worry about it.
Mainly what you need to know is that I started with an empty world, 3 households who are not part of my rotation but are there to help populate the town (druid camp, knights barracks, and the Ladies' manor), 5 peasant families (du Lac, Smith, Hopper, Emrys, and Ealdor), 2 Yeomen families (Macken and De Grance), and the royal Pendragon family. As my save is currently I have 9 community lots, 3 peasant families (Hopper, Ealdor, Oliver), 1 yeoman family (Emrys), 1 Merchant family (du Lac), 1 Gentry family (Macken), 1 Noble family (De Grance), and the royal Pendragon family that have all dramatically changed as they intermarried, had kids, built up their businesses, and rose in the ranks.
My plan is to make a post on each of these families explaining their story. This will take time though as I plan to give you guys family portraits, before and after tours of their homes, any screenshots I happened to have taken while playing, as well as writing out the twists and turns of their tales. So please bear with me while I sort that out.
In the meantime here's some screenshots of some shippy poses I did with my sims that aren't part of the save

ŬIt@ Tips n Info !
I worked at ŬIt@ for about a year, so I'll try to give as much advice as possible! It's been half a year since I quit, so things may have changed, and things may be different at different stores.
When learning about shr!nk/l0ss pr3v3ntion, the first thing we were taught was to never confront someone you think is ste@ling. You'll never be asked to put something back by a regular associ@te, only a m@nager who's usually pretty easy to identify. Instead, if you're being consistently approached by the same associ@te, asking if you want a basket and being pushy, there's a chance theyre onto you, so just take what you have alrdy and dip. They're not allowed to chase or touch you at all.
Cam3ras are usually on a monitor by the register, and on a monitor in the back! Take advantage of busy days, if the store is crowded and there isnt a lot of stàff, there's a good chance everyone is too busy to keep an eye on the c@meras and floor. (but still avoid them, obviously)
Most of the time, stâff is looking for th3ft in the fragr@nce or h@ir tech section. At my store we often had people come in and fill bags with it, so avoid that area like the plague when conc3aling! Even just walking into that space can put eyes on you.
Always be friendly to the stáff! This is an obvious one, but at ÙIt@ we were really pushed to walk the floor and ask people if they wanted help, even multiple times. Just a simple "no thanks!" and a smile will help you sm.
Obviously it varies by st0re, but at each one I've been to, I've had the most success c0nc3aling by crouching at shelvès by walls! Especially the wall that holds pr0ducts for ÙIt@'s brand. But make sure to scope out your own st0re, the c@meras have wide range.
Dress casually and try to seem put together, and be careful what bag you bring! Since fr@grance nd hair tends to get taken the most, workèrs keep an eye on people with big bags.
Never ever ever leave an empty b0x. If an empIoy33 finds an empty b0x, chances are they'll give it to a m@nager who checks c@meras at where the b0x was found to see who left it.
I don't recommend l!fting from a location that will recognize you, especially if you have a r3wards acc with ÙIt@. The account has your name, number, address, etc. If you're buying something at the same time youre l!fting and you think they might be susp!cious, don't give them your nùmber.
Be careful for hidden rf!d t@gs! Some are more hidden than others, for example, some k!ss nails have rf!ds inside the box.
Of course, again all st0res are different so take everything with a grain of salt. And some man@gers are so far up c0rporates ass that theyll ignore the LP rules just to keep lnventory so always be careful and watch your back! Quick trips to st0res youve never been to before are always best.
Thats all the important ones I can think of at the moment, but I'll reblog with more if I remember anything else!
