Grain & Grit Beer Co. is a brewery in Hamilton that is co-owned by Lindsay Mrav and her husband. Known to love sour beers, this one is a special treat brewed with locally sourced honey, lavendar-infused hops and chamomile. This positive message is going to be backed up by a reminder of what is happening across Instagram in Craft Beer right now. There has been a great out pouring of stories of sexual harassment from countless women in craft beer (in case you live under a rock, go and check out @ratmagnet highlighted stories. There are pages) and it makes me dream of a better day. The message I am seeing is that there is still a lot of work that needs to be done. Be Kind. A few weeks back I took a beer centric road trip to Hamilton. The last time I made this kind of journey was to visit the newly opened taproom of @collectivearts. This should provide enough of a timeline on just how often I stop by Hamilton. The inspiration for this trip was sparked by the slew of hot new breweries that have been making headlines in the city. I added the hottest new breweries to my itinerary and went for a meet and greet with the good people of @fairweatherbeer, @grainandgritbeer and @MERITBrewing. I must say, good ol' HamOnt has really grown a top notch Craft Beer scene that rivals any large city. The quality of beer being produced at these three breweries is undoubtedly world class. I am genuinely jealous of the people that live in Hamilton that get to call these breweries their locals. Pictured above, a pair of excellent sours.
