🍑 ⠀ PEACHES AND CREAM⠀ By @tinyrebelbrewco ⠀ —————⠀ Creamy Peach IPA⠀ 5.5% abv⠀ —————⠀ Have you ever wanted to drink a hopped up and melted orange creamsicle? Well you’re in luck because @tinyrebelbrewco has you covered. As one of the “hottest” beers of the moment during my last trip to Scotland, I had numerous people -both on and offline- telling me to give it a try. Here is my shocking review.⠀ -⠀ Peaches and Cream is a lactose laden juicy IPA. If you’re a lactose lover, this beer is a small slice of heaven for you. Pouring a lively hazy orange, Peaches and Cream IPA is topped off with a foamy froth. On first inspection, I smell a super artificial orange popsicle. Every had one of those orange creamsicle bars? Pretty much that. Wait, it’s actually EXACTLY that. If I close my eyes I seriously couldn’t tell the difference. Moving on....⠀ -⠀ On the flavour side of things, this beer presents a front end orange sherbet with back end citrus bitterness. It’s not really bitter as it is a pleasant hop character that lets you know it’s got hops in it. Beyond this, Peaches and Cream is sugary sweet. The lactose in this beer has an icing sugar-like character that really takes over every mouthful of this beer. It’s a little too sweet for my taste personally but it’s also extremely palatable at the same time. ⠀ -⠀ Body is silky smooth and there is a great creamy quality to the mouthfeel. This beer is pretty refreshing too. As it warms up I start getting light grassy notes and peach notes that taste like minor hop characters or maybe yeast based. ⠀ -⠀ If you like your juicy IPA’s laden with lactose and fruit, than this beer is right up your alley. I honestly don’t tend to like these types of beers but I must admit that this one is pretty freaking good. #4922 Brasserie du Bas-Canada Los Tabarnacos (Mangue, Mandarine & Vanille) (Canada) It’s not often I get my hands on BBC drops in Montreal but the Lactose Gods were looking favourably upon me this week. I got hold of the latest #TeamLactose Milkshake IPA from the fellas up in Gatineau and mate, she’s a beaut. At 6.5%, it pours hazy with mango on the nose, the body is creamy, the vanilla and mandarin are both understated but provide some subtle backbone while the mango shines, it’s silky without being overly sweet, all ending in a slightly dry, smooth finish. #4904 Lagabière Balade En Radeau - Juin (Canada) The June edition of Lagabière’s monthly releases is right up my alley. She’s a 7% IPA with lactose and it rocks the experimental hop HBC520. It pours bright yellow and hazy with a creamy, tropical nose, the body is silky with icing sugar vibes, the hop brings some earthy, grassy tones, tangy, fruity, some light citrus, it’s bright and chalky with a dusty, smooth finish.
