We have the most beautiful October weather, but it is for sure getting colder. Which means that one by one I get all my lovely sweaters out of their summer hibernation. 🙌 This week I mainly wore my Meander Sweater. #meanderSweater. It was the very first sweater pattern that I released and as all my garment patterns is went through tech editing and test knitting before the release. 🧶 I am still very much in love with this design - especially with the colorwork on the body. Adding these gradients to my shop this morning! Update available at noon! . Berry Wine is a colourway I have carried before in many iterations. Classic and on my DK base 955 yds . Whoomp, there it is! is a sock gradient 7x30g/750 yds made with a number of the colours from my 90s collection....will draw some attention 😃 . Amanda was a colourway created based on my hair colour at the time 🙃 This one is 7x30g/750 yds and is on my super cushy 2-ply fine merino 😍 . Lastly, an Orbs set on DK. I sold all my Orbs at the market except this little rebel set. It's softer and more subtle that my typical orbs. More grey without the white skein at the end that usually pops with neon specks. When lovely Isabel of @breibellie shared that she started making her beautiful Elation Shawl exactly one year ago, I knew mine had to be my favorite finished object of this week. #favoriteFoFriday It is one of the easiest shawls you can make and a great stash buster for leftover mohair. I made my sample from the yarn I had left after making my Oneiro Cardigan. 🧶 For me it has the perfect crescent shape and I am still so much in love with the ruffle at the end. 💕 If you are a beginner knitter or need a side project with lots of mindless garter then you really need to give it a try! Slowly I begin to anticipate the end of summer - or at least of the very hot and very humid weather that we have for quite some time now. Don't get we wrong, in general I am a big fan of summer. I love to wear summer dresses without needing tights, I love that we have so much daylight, I love swimming in a nearby lake and late summer evenings spend outside. Be recently it is just too hot for me 🥵 and I hope there will be some change to that. Meanwhile I wish I was at the Baltic Sea again where the picture above was taken a few week ago. Yay! Almost done! 🙌 The yarn is super fine and this is not a quick project but I loooove the resulting fabric! Textured, soft and luxurious! Merino and silk is just a combo to die for! 🥰 I am planning to write a pattern for this tee, but I am wondering if you are still interested in summer knits at this time in the year. I won't have the pattern ready before the middle of August. So, shall I call for testers as soon as the pattern is ready? Or would you prefer the test to be postponed to next years summer season? Throwback to last summer when I knit this - still unnamed - tee with the bright gradient yoke. 🌞 The tee is now long finished and I even got to wear it a few times before the summer ended. I still need to take pictures of the finished garment though. 🧶 Why am I showing it to you again?! Well, because recently I could motivate myself to continue working on the pattern. 🙌 I started with the pattern shortly after I finished the tee last summer, graded the whole thing and even wrote the instructions up to the point when you separate body and sleeves... Only afterwards I noticed that I forgot to incorporate the color change. 🤦‍♀️ And that meant rewriting most of the yoke instructions. To be honest, after putting in all the hard work I was devastated and needed to step back from the project for a little while. But now I rewrote the yoke instructions and hope to finish the rest of the pattern with the next couple of weeks. If I make no more mistakes and the tech editing goes well, the pattern might be ready to be test knit around the end of April or the start of May. 🤞 Do you have a name suggestion for this tee? I would appreciate it if you could share your ideas in the comments. 📣 (I think the gradient kind of looks like a red beach viewed from a plane.) Finally I have a new project to show you for #wearurwipwednesday by the beautiful Lucy @spoonfuloftalent 🙌🧶 This is going to be a super light summer top made from merino and silk.
