Last week I casted on a new project. For some time I was not quite sure, if my idea would work. But now that I made a little progress, I am confident enough to share the first picture with you. 😊 It is going to be a circular yoke summer top that is knit with a rather fine single ply silk and merino yarn called ggh Lacy. I decided to work linen stitch with 5mm needles - a needle size that would be way too big for this yarn, if I was knitting Stockinette. 🧶 The resulting fabric has a super fun texture, does not roll up at the edge and is very light and airy. I can imagine this top to be a dream to wear. Slowly I begin to anticipate the end of summer - or at least of the very hot and very humid weather that we have for quite some time now. Don't get we wrong, in general I am a big fan of summer. I love to wear summer dresses without needing tights, I love that we have so much daylight, I love swimming in a nearby lake and late summer evenings spend outside. Be recently it is just too hot for me 🥵 and I hope there will be some change to that. Meanwhile I wish I was at the Baltic Sea again where the picture above was taken a few week ago. I recently spent a day in Lübeck which is located in northern Germany near the Baltic Sea. Happy Friday everyone! 😊 I have great news! The tech editing process of this tee is as good as done! 🙌 That means I will open a new call for testers very, very soon. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that it finally has a name! Meet the SUNKISSED SEA TEE! 🥳 #sunkissedSeaTee The pattern will come with 10 sizes from a 76cm / 30" bust to a 148cm / 58.25" bust. I will need at least three testers per size. It is usually very hard to find testers for the larger sizes, so I would really appreciate it if you could forward this post to any knitter who might be interested in knitting a larger size. The yarn I used is a lovely wool and silk blend from @gghwolle called 'Lacy' (25g, 150m / 164yds, 80% wool, 20% silk) #gghlacy Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions about this test. Finally I have a new project to show you for #wearurwipwednesday by the beautiful Lucy @spoonfuloftalent 🙌🧶 This is going to be a super light summer top made from merino and silk. I honestly cannot wait to get it ready for me to wear. 🙃🥰 I love the fabric that linen stitch creates, so I am very happy with my choice to use it for this design. Yay! Almost done! 🙌 The yarn is super fine and this is not a quick project but I loooove the resulting fabric! Textured, soft and luxurious! Merino and silk is just a combo to die for! 🥰 I am planning to write a pattern for this tee, but I am wondering if you are still interested in summer knits at this time in the year. I won't have the pattern ready before the middle of August. So, shall I call for testers as soon as the pattern is ready? Or would you prefer the test to be postponed to next years summer season? The last couple of weeks of the Sunkissed Sea Tee test have begun. #sunkissedSeaTee My lovely group of testers has been more than helpful and it is such a joy to see their tees grow. 😍 I finished my own Sunkissed Sea Tee in July of last summer. Throwback to last summer when I knit this - still unnamed - tee with the bright gradient yoke. 🌞 The tee is now long finished and I even got to wear it a few times before the summer ended. I still need to take pictures of the finished garment though. 🧶 Why am I showing it to you again?! Well, because recently I could motivate myself to continue working on the pattern. 🙌 I started with the pattern shortly after I finished the tee last summer, graded the whole thing and even wrote the instructions up to the point when you separate body and sleeves... Only afterwards I noticed that I forgot to incorporate the color change. 🤦‍♀️ And that meant rewriting most of the yoke instructions. To be honest, after putting in all the hard work I was devastated and needed to step back from the project for a little while. But now I rewrote the yoke instructions and hope to finish the rest of the pattern with the next couple of weeks. If I make no more mistakes and the tech editing goes well, the pattern might be ready to be test knit around the end of April or the start of May. 🤞 Do you have a name suggestion for this tee?
