I was really excited about the armourer subclass but other than being able to disregard strength requirements for heavy armour it just seems really boring compared to the other artificer subclasses. However, I used to think that the alchemist was similarly dull until last week when I put together a yuan-ti alchemist for a one shot and realised that a level 5 alchemist paired with the elemental adept feat (I chose acid) can make your spells really powerful. Also, for a one shot being able to max out on tool proficiencies was amazing. If you combine artificer tool proficiencies with those you get from certain backgrounds you can be like a walking Swiss Army knife.
So I think the thing with all the artificer subclasses is that they’re all going to be heavily reliant on attuned items and infusions, such that all the subclasses really do seem a little weak until you remember that they have can take a shitty starting sword or crossbow and have a +1 magic weapons at level 2 as a base class ability. It’s sort of like how a lot of the wizard subclass features seem kind of meh because the real wizard feature is “I have all the spells”. Armorer isn’t totally my thing, but it does grant some good stuff. I think I unsurprisingly prefer the artificer subclasses that seem more focused on support, so alchemist and battle smith (and especially battle smith, which seems to really strike the balance)
With that said, alchemical savant + elemental adept for acid + just casting melf’s acid arrow all the time does sound pretty great.

Made a doll sized poncho by accident while trying to make a tiny blanket for a rat, credit to @gqsnail for teaching me to finger knit. Stuck it on Clawdeen here because I thought it'd suit her best out of the few second hand dolls I own.

@gqsnail I mean that's true, but I literally cannot imagine knowing someone for only a few months and then deciding I was ready to spend the rest of my life with them. Especially as young as like, 19 (age of another girl I went to high school with, and her husband is like 25 so that just seems kinda weird to me, as a 19 y/o).
#gqsnail#replies#im sure there are some people who just. Know. but it's still strange to me#that you could be so certain

I’m so glad you got Eberron! It’s the first sourcebook I got and I love the range of genre styles it gives you. I’ve run a Murder in the Orient Express Type thing, a cyberpunk type thing, a standard sword and sandals, a noir detective type thing, a western type thing, an Indiana Jones Styles thing, a pirate adventure, all in the same setting. I’m currently running a game for my children (aged 5, 7, and 10) and they’ve turned it into a post apocalyptic thing with my son’s war forged artificer searching the wastelands for a creation forge to give his son (steel defender) a soul.
It definitely seems to be really good for that! I’m actually kind of not interested in the dragonmarks even though I suspect that’s kind a big deal in Eberron because whereas the guilds were the defining feature of Ravnica, this feels like such a minor add-on to a much larger world and like, why would I get caught up in house politics when I could have a locked-train-car mystery or explore the cursed mist?

@gqsnail I'm so incredibly proud of you for officially becoming an ordained priest of the church of England. Hearing about this inspired me to draw this Holy Ghost for you. I gave them butterfly wings because of the lovely butterflies on the scarf (stole?) you're wearing in the picture attached to your announcement post, and they are holding a small snail because of your user name. I hope you like them 😇

hello! i love your blog and was wondering if you could recommend some Christian blogs that dont post homo/bi/transphobic content, anti-refugee content, anti-abortion content, pro-trump content etc. I follow a few who do and it really upsets me to see it but im short on Christian blogs to follow so would appreciate some recommendations if its not too much trouble!! xxx
Hey there! I just reblogged a post with some LGBT friendly Christian blogs, and I’m pretty sure none of them post any of the content you want to avoid, so check that out!
Others that I know for sure are LGBT-friendly and that I’m pretty sure don’t post any of the other content you mention:
@rockofaces; @dfabjesus (edit: now @biblicalle); @sapphicchristain; @sapphic-christian; @dominusdeus; @boykeats; @gqsnail; @gaychristian; @revkryssie; @wehavefound; @honeyandwormwood; @simeonlikethebible; @come-to-the-well; @millennialgospel; @hellchaplain; @nonbinarychristians; @achristianqueer; @godoftheoppressed
Does anyone know of others?
Update: some others!
@blacksheepministries, @christiankitsch
