“My heart races whenever I see you.”

They had slipped away into one of the private rooms at their gambling halls. It’s been a while since they had managed to have a moment alone, since they were able to talk.He wasn’t sure if Jihoon meant that in a good way or a bad way- it wouldn’t be surprising if he meant it negatively, after everything that’s happened. But for Minseok, his heart raced in the good way- even if it shouldn’t be. Sometimes he caught himself watching Jihoon. This was unusual for him, as he usually preferred to be the one being watched- having the attention. But he liked watching Jihoon have conversations with their members- because in the beginning it didn’t seem like he talked much at all. It felt like Minseok was looking at something special. But then he’d see Jihoon talking with Chanmi, and that familiar feeling of dread filled him again and he had to tear his eyes away. It wasn’t like Minseok was trying to tear them apart. He just didn’t know what to do. 

“Mine too,” he muttered, his eyes searching Jihoon’s. In the comfort of a quiet room that seemed like it’d hold his secrets, Minseok leaned in and pressed his lips against Jihoon’s, a soft peck more than anything else. It was selfish of him, but they hadn’t kissed before- and he wanted to sate his curiosity before he gave Jihoon up for good. He wondered if Jihoon understood the meaning behind it. It felt bittersweet. “I don’t want to ruin our friendship. Or your relationship,” he says, glancing down at his shoes. “So we should end this. Whatever this is,” he gestured with his hands, a frown on his face. He had to snuff out this flame before it grew too big, he had to let this be the end of it. It was an accident, he told himself- that’s all this was. All it could be.

hansung grins as he makes his way around headquarters in search for jihoon, wanting to see if there’s anything he can do for the leader and to just spend some time around him. he really likes the older male, probably more than he should. he can’t really explain it, jihoon just has this aura that draws hansung in. turning a corner, he stutter steps at the sight of the leader’s backside before smiling happily and hurriedly throwing himself at the older male, arms looping around his torso and cheek nuzzling into his back.

“jihoon hyung! i’ve been looking everywhere for you! can we do something, please? i miss my favorite hyung.”

it’s a waiting game as she sits in the chair behind the desk, feet up on said desk, crossed and stretched out from her laid back position. soonhee had gotten there an hour or so ago, giving enough time for the female to snoop around the space (though she had to admit that she’d done that already during the raids), and she had to say, he’d cleaned up well. either way, soonhee had gotten herself well acquainted with the room already, and as she waited for the door to open, her fingers twisted and twirled a far too pretty dagger. more for decoration purposes than practical. but as the click of the door sounded the awaited arrival of the gang leader, the snake looked up a little from beneath her white cap that still covered her eyes enough. and she waited until the door opened before a sickly sweet smile turned up onto her lips. “did you miss me, oppa?” @gpjihoon

   Her nose was nuzzled into her scarf, already running from the cold air. She’d been standing outside of his apartment door for too long, debating whether or not this was even a good idea. They hadn’t ended their last conversation on the best of terms, but she was incredibly worried about where that left her, and her job, and especially her debt. With a heavy sigh, she gave a light knock on the door, almost hoping he wouldn’t answer. There were so many directions this could go, a lot of which weren’t positive. Atop of it all, she was still left with questions that had been racing through her mind for a while now.

    He’d been a mess, messier than she, and she’d been wasted. There were compliments that came from him that she’d never expected to hear, and when met with criticism, he’d only gotten angry. That was what caused this after all. He seemed to be stuck in his feelings about something, and she couldn’t help but feel like it was her.

While Minseok initially had his misgivings about Jihoon, when he saw the dimples and dopey way he looked when he smiled, Minseok knew he wouldn’t stay indifferent to Jihoon for long.

He initially used polite speech and referred to Jihoon respectfully as more of a formality than anything- and because he didn’t want to accidentally disrespect him and end up with a bullet in his foot or something as a warning. He thought Jihoon’s quietness was scary because he had an intimidating presence, and simply because of the fact that he’d killed their previous leader but whenever they had gotten into a life threatening situation and Jihoon seemed genuinely concerned for Minseok’s well-being, he realized he had the wrong idea about him all along. Ever since he had that revelation, he’d been working hard to get Jihoon to warm up to him. 

Minseok usually didn’t finish work until late, and whenever he got back to the factory to the report what he’d sold and for how much, Jihoon was usually still there. If he wasn’t Minseok would go straight home, but if Jihoon was there he’d find himself sticking around, having late night talks with him while they ate takeout. Jihoon began to see him as a confidant, and eventually Minseok became less polite and reserved when speaking to him. He went from calling him ‘sajangnim’ to ‘Jihoon’ to finally, ‘Jihoonie.’

Soonhee: Shhh! Do you hear that?

Jihoon:

Soonhee: That’s the sound of forgiveness.

Jihoon: That’s the sound of people drowning, Soonhee.

Soonhee: That is what forgiveness sounds like. Screaming and then silence.

“I feel protective over you.”

Minseok laughed quietly, a sheepish smile on his lips. He could see why Jihoon would feel that way- the wound on his cheek probably didn’t look too good. Minseok finds himself asking the same question he always asks whenever he was hit- ‘Did I deserve this?’ But again, he thinks he did in fact, deserve this. “I should be saying that to you. You seem to get stabbed on a regular basis,” he teases, the smile slipping from his lips a second later as he lowered his head, studying his shoes. “I’m fine. Don’t worry about me, Jihoon-ah.”
