Beyond the installations | Things to do in Fort Kochi while attending the Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2022-23
The Biennale will be all encompassing in the coming few months. Just the next few days will have singer and dancer Sithara Krishnakumar (December 14) and indie musician Lifafa (December 24) performing. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t much happening outside its immediate ambit. The annual Cochin Carnival, which kicks off on December 11 and is on till January 1, has everyone buzzing. There’s also…

My weekend ✨ studyblr edition
It’s been far too long since I’ve posted!!! Between school, work, and my internship I’ve just had no time. I’m using some of my downtime on this lovely Sunday evening to update my blog. Here was my weekend:
Saturday
This Saturday I went to the beautiful bibliothèque nationale de France Richelieu. Whilst there I studied some computational linguistics and walked around the stunning building. After that I enjoyed the sunlight and went to the public pool for a swim.
Sunday
My Sunday started off with mass! Then I decided to get a matcha, do some studying for indo-European writing systems, then journal about Goya (one of my fave artists!). I then decided to enjoy the gloomy weather in Paris, and took a walk near Sacré Cœur.
Let me know if you like these diary entry type posts! I love writing them out. Also would you all like if I wrote in a french a bit? Je sais qu’il y a quelques-uns qui sont en train d’apprendre français, et qu’il y a d’autres qui parlent déjà français alors faites-moi savoir si ça serait utile ! Bisous 😽 et bon dimanche 🌟

The afterlife diary of Eugène de Beauharnais - entry 4
It has been some time since I’ve last noted down my impression of this afterlife, and frankly, too much has happened since for me to cover everything in full now. In short:
almost burned
almost drowned
tossed about by a whirlwind in between
almost had myself painted
baked some cinnamon rolls (excellent!)
While I do not pretend that this journal will be of interest, let alone of use to anyone, I do want to keep it up, so as to not completely drop the habit of writing after having maintained such a vast correspondence all my life. Also, you have to fill your hours with something.
My afterlife acquaintances have somewhat increased in number. There is now a third manifestation of my old friend Bessières, whom I surely want to meet in person at some point, especially as he has recently married. Whom? Why, Marshal Lannes. I’m still shaking my head at this event. But then again, would I have expected Marshal Lannes, of all people, to show an interest in baking? I never had that much fun with Lannes before. Ever! I assume, Bessie No. 3 knows what he’s doing.
And who knows? Next thing, I might make friends with Masséna … nah. Probably not.
In any case, there should be a fourth Bessières so they can all play whist together. As it stands now, they can only play whist mort – which of course also sounds rather fitting.
Somebody whose friendship I treasure very much, by the way, is court painter Francisco de Goya. He has been kind enough to invite me to his home and to introduce me to his family. I hope that, at some point in this strange new existence, I shall be able to repay all the friendliness and hospitality I have received from so many people.
Perhaps I should set off again soon and continue on my way. There’s too much to see out there, though I have noted that, the longer I stay away from things I remember from my days among the living, the weaker I tend to get. Before I encountered the strange run-down circus troupe in the forrest I almost believed to see my fingers starting to dissolve into mist…
Alas. We will see. No risk, no fun. Maybe I will encounter some of the folks on the road of whom I know they are here but whom I have not met yet in person. Mostly my dear Duroc, and Marshal Ney.

American Psychological Association: Merit Is Unfair
War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Merit is unfair:
A study published in an American Psychological Association journal [is] now claiming that socioeconomic disparities should be the focus when seeking potential employees.
The term “socioeconomic disparities” refers to position of privilege according to Cultural Marxism. Refer to Disney’s Wheel of Wokeness for details.
The focus here is on bestowing further privilege based on race:
The study concluded that merit-based hiring fuels racial inequality as ‘members of marginalized racial groups tend to experience socioeconomic disadvantages more often than members of privileged racial groups.’
In a society that has succumbed to moonbattery, research often consists of quacking leftist talking points:
Lead researcher Daniela] Goya-Tocchetto advises employers to focus on the disadvantages a prospective candidate has faced instead of another candidate who has achieved more in their field and has a more fitting resume.”
To do otherwise would not accord with what she calls “fairness.”
Tough luck for those who have no disadvantages to offer thanks to their disfavored skin color.

i love the way you write 😭😭 i’ve checked out a bunch of your stuff over the last few days and i am eyeballing your works respectively
from one midnight poet to another — what inspires you to take up poetry as a medium? who are your favorite authors/poets/inspirations?
Ahh, thank you! That’s very flattering to hear!
As for what inspires me to write poetry… Mostly my own feelings and thoughts, I’d say. The same goes for writing and journaling, but when I’m upset I find poetry to be one of the fastest mediums (if I’m in the mood to do so) to relieve my stress, anger— something like that. Personally it works much better for stress and anger towards particular things than sadness because if I’m just sad with no reason, finding words and essentially finding a concrete thing to be sad about makes it worse for me. Though with that being said, I’m trying to learn how to write wholesome poems about healing, as well. (I think.)
Poetry, to me, is an amplifier and a type of freedom, I guess. There are some things I can’t really say to others in real life, but in poetry I’ve no audience (in the sense that I’m not actually speaking to anyone) so I don’t have to worry about my diction and tone.
But also, I think poetry is a great way to tell a character's story concisely, maybe even in-character too, especially if the character is a poet themselves. Writing in-character poems, for example my Venti poems “Flute Song” and “Song of Feathers Fit For Flight”, forces me to think like the character and then kind of create something as the character, which I find interesting. I'm writing as the character who’s writing something themselves.
As for other poets/inspirations… Initially it was anime opening themes, particularly Hello Sleepwalkers’ “Goya no Machiawase” (Overnight Appointment/Midnight Rendezvous) because of the idea of going towards and talking to oneself.
おやすみ その絶望を受け取って
明日への僕は歩き始めた
また今夜 待ち合わせよう
Good night, I accept this despair and
Started walking towards tomorrow
Let’s meet again tonight!
And then it changed to the VOCALOID producer Neru’s works in his first two albums Sekai Seifuku and My Name Is Love Song. If I had to pick songs then I’d say “How To World Domination”. (Note: This is Oktavia’s translation which conveys the intentions well I’d say)
どうせ愛なんてって薄幸ぶって強がっても
きっと本心じゃ疚しさに襲われて
どうだい現状の僕は
そうかい、どうしようもないな
うるさいなお前なんて大嫌いだ
Even if I say “To hell with love”, embracing my misery and feigning a “I’ve stopped giving a shit” sort of air
I know I couldn’t do that without feeling ashamed for hiding how I really feel
How goes things, my present day self?
Oh I see, it’s hopeless, huh?
God you piss me off, I hate you so much!
and “Terror”
If they strike at you, strike back! It’s your turn now! Take back every one of your abandoned dreams
It’s a resistance where your heart’s place is at stake
Laugh back only as much as you were laughed at! A coup d’état of life, so to speak
Going into overtime with neither wins nor losses
It’s the eve of our counterattack
But recently it’s been the alt-folk band The Amazing Devil’s lyrics. I like their style and their rhythm and rhymes a lot, but also I LOVE their call-and-response sort of conversational lyrics. I guess I’m finally thinking about that more since, well, they write songs in English where the aforementioned aspects are easier to pick out (than in Japanese).
I remember for my “The Immature Liege and the Heartless Joker”, I was inspired by “The Old Witch Sleep and the Good Man Grace”. (You can see it even in the title too.)
'Cause we'll dance together so close we're sharing breath
But now I'm leading, doesn't that just scare you to death?
'Cause I'm all yours, you're all mine
Let's dance together, you and I
'Cause I'm not trapped, oh with you, you see
You're the one who's trapped with me
And then, “Farewell Wanderlust” has the “flirting with your (metaphorical) enemy” sort of vibe that I also really like.
"Come, devil, come, " she sang, "call out my name"
Let's take this outside, 'cause we're one and the same
Our gods have abandoned us, left us instead
Take up arms, take my hand, let us waltz for the dead
Defiance. It seems in the songs and artists I like, there’s always a sense of defiance against unpleasant feelings. I like the idea of telling yourself to be stronger and stand up for yourself, or if you’re not ready for that yet, then at least face your feelings as they are without trying to soften it to make them sound acceptable. It’s what I strive for in my pieces too.

Writing and Looking
Title: Francisco Goya, BULLFIGHT: THE AGILITY AND DARING OF JUANITO APINANI (Page 4.4)
The instructions and ingredients used for this artwork is any sort of pen or pencil, draw across the horizon line to help portray the foreground and the background, distinct the vanishing point, draw in the shadows and shade in from where the light is coming from, and draw good geometric shapes to add detail on the human and the bull.
Connecting Art to Your World
A personal experience of how color has affected me was that not only is it pretty fun to do in art class all the way back in school, but also because it helps add more personality to my artworks. Normally I do black and white since it's easier and it doesn't take as long, but whenever I decide to do color, I always have a fun experience doing so. It helps my drawings pop out more and make it stand out. It's fun to try out different colors as well to help with what works and what doesn't. Color is always a valuable asset for art as a whole.
Art Project
This is a small cartoon I made for this project, it's basically just fanart with some humor in it, which is something I've always loved. My favorite type of art is always fanart since I can draw my favorite characters from movies, video games, tv shows, and many other types of media. It relates to me because I always liked the more funny aspects of fanart and how silly they can be.

In my opinion, what makes a good interactive design on a website or an app is the overall aesthetic and the accessibility. Take Youtube's for example, it's simple, nice, and being able to access anything on there is a piece of cake. The intent of this website is to help provide entertainment for the user watching. It can also provide information, drama, music, and many other things the user might want to see. It's an app that can help the user just have a moment to relax and enjoy themselves. I would definitely say all of the features on Youtube serve its purpose. Like I said before, its simple, quick, and easy to maneuver. Youtube's design is definitely user friendly and is meant for all types of people to enjoy.
