i tried my hand at drawing your lovely android reigen design ! i saw a lotta cool concepts in your reference sheets and i wanted to show off the different model parts, his human looking exterior and the machinery inside.. at the same time, so it ended up a little instrospective and angsty, whoops ksdhs

had a lot of fun figuring out how to draw and paint many new things for this one, hope it's not too outlandish for what you envisioned for this au!

Uhh ill be honest, I don't know as much about them as I'd like to? So I really can't say whether or not they're scapegoats. But from what I've heard, I wouldn't be surprised if Steph counts as one. I think Helena is more alienated/an outsider? But I can't say for sure, I haven't read any comics involving these two yet (I definitely plan to though... when I get finished reading Nightwing comics and other batfamily comics i.e. Batwing. There's so much to catch up on...).

If anyone wants to add onto this with their thoughts though, go ahead! I'm far from an expert on these characters loll.

As some of you probably know, my original plan was to go into Storm Warning after The Giggle, but I didn't know what to choose after that, which is what I was trying to figure out while writing that other post.

Anyway, I've been doing some thinking...

PROPAGANDA (probably gibberish but my brain is evil rn)

TV Movie: 7 regenerates into 8 because of the American Healthcare System. The Master is a goo snake. He slithers into a new body and proceeds to want the Doctor’s body the whole damn movie. Post regeneration sillies. The Master literally roars like a wild beast. 8 kisses Grace. He fuckin FORGOR. 8 talks about his father for a little bit. Half human????

Night of the Doctor: 8 regenerates into War. Lots of interesting ties to the EU. Short but devastating. This guy pretty much does himself in. Depiction of common perception of Time Lords at the time

Storm Warning: CHARLOTTE POLLARDDDDDDDDD. 8 gets a new companion! He is whimsy and so much more, but there is a foreboding sense to it. RAMSEY THE VORTISAUR. 8 talks a little bit about the Academy Era. Both this and the TV Movie would eventually lead to Zagreus.

The Conscript: 8 gets forced to be apart of a Time War recruitment camp under the threat of Ollistra doing something to his companions. Very good depiction of Time Lords being used as cannon fodder. YOU ARE NOT SONTARANS. Disturbing Gallifreyan nationalistic song. 8 makes everyone's lives difficult. Daleks daleks daleks

Day of the Vashta Nerada: Gallifrey is trying to weaponize the Vashta Nerada for use in the Time War. This doesn't end well. Pretty much everyone dies! Enter GIANT Vashta Nerada and enter the Nerada Vashta.

A Heart on Both Sides: NYSSAAAAAAAA. Nyssa is on The Traken providing hospital relief to those affected by the Time War. She has a helper named Dr. Foster (wink). They go to the planet Reeve, which is incredibly anti-Gallifreyans because the High Council has been blowing up their factories. Time Lord spy. Anti Gallifreyan graffiti and the use of Praxis gas, which almost kills 8.

The Lords of Terror: companion Bliss wants to go visit her parents, only to discover it has been covered in a big dome. 8 gets tortured yet again. Are the Daleks or the Time Lords responsible for this atrocity? Gallifrey is a fucked up society.

In the Garden of Death: 8, Bliss, and the Twelve are in a Dalek POW camp. Oh no they forgor everything! The Daleks torture the heck out of these guys. These amnesiacs briefly wonder if 8 is a bad guy. Interrogation on Interrogation on Interrogation

Mary's Story: Two 8s collide with Mary Shelley and Co at Villa Diodati. First an older 8 who has been affected by vitreous time, leaving him in horrific shape (burns, muscle, bone....I'll spare you the details) to the point where he literally dies for a little bit. Gets electrocuted and turns into basically Frankenstein's Monster. Young 8 turns up, finds these really quite embarrassing, saves the day, and takes Mary on as a companion

You are helping my Rayllum brainrot so much and also I am feasting on the wonderful angst. Like CHET??? How did I not know about that before?? That whole theory is a combo of my favorite tropes! AWW thank you so much!! I've always loved pushing characters into scenarios where they are no right choices, just the ones they're willing to live with, so as CHET grew as a theory it just became more and more up my alley - and it's come a LONG way in the (just under) three years it's been a theory of mine. (CHET themed playlist for vibes here.) It started as a whim after TTM came out and then flourished as I picked up on the game motif, the thematic resonances, etc.

Which, I don't know if I think it'll be a straight up hostage exchange anymore since 5x08 Already Did That (although I'd considered the same after 4x09, wondering if they'd repeat it so soon - and then 5x08 had two of them, so who knows) but I think the Game Motif and Rayllum's steady Salvation-Destruction reconciliation are still going to be interwoven and resolved with each other together, so next season it is! More thoughts and theories about our different options & how they could manifest here <3

And while I think at least some of those predictions will be right (I'd have a hard time imagining a plot element where Rayla isn't the one to break him out of the brainwashing, given all the setup and foreshadowing) even if they aren't it's like - I got literally everything I wanted in 5x08. Anything else that comes true or happens in line with prior thoughts is just a Bonus

That being said the cut lines from Finnegrin's Wake of "Seems to be love's got a tighter grip on you than those chains round your wrists, so I'll do you a favour and set you free" verbalizing the already implied dichotomy "lose Rayla and be Free from Aaravos (bye intro)" VS "save her and play into his hands (hi intro)" has been absolutely batshit beautiful to witness, it is coming back 100%, is already a 10/10, the universe loves me and i love them back

Rise of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - Count Dregon and his Generals

A prince from a peaceful planet. Twin nobles from a desert world. All three exiled from their homes, all three bent on revenge on those that wronged them. Meet Count Dregon, Nefaria and Scorpina!

Background and story stuff under the cut!

Dregon, formerly Prince Rex of Edenoi, believes in Edenoi's old ways of warfare and conquest. He was banished from the planet years ago for instigating an uprising against his peaceful father, King Lexian, that left his face scarred. Now clad in a golden mask and armor, he has conquered Edenoi after decades away and now sets his sights on Earth to follow his nephew Dex, the newest Masked Rider and sole survivor of the royal family. Dregon's ultimate goal is to claim the Masked Rider powers for himself, his birthright.

Nefaria and Scorpina were formerly members of one of the desert planet Lamari's noble houses. The two were mischievous and cunning, committing petty theft and assault often to test the limits of what they could get away with. That is until Scorpina stole three golden bands from a wealthy crime boss, the enchantment on them cursing her left arm with a disfigurement that would be hard to cover up. Instead of covering for them this time, their family heads cast them out to salvage what little reputation they could.

Years later, the two encountered Dregon in a shady saloon, telling him of their story - with some embellishments to guarantee his pity and net them some credits for the week. Dregon did take pity, but instead of simply giving them a few credits and sending them on their way, he allowed them to stay on his ship. The only condition being they must lend their skills to his growing army of Insectivores.

The twins accepted, with Dregon's army growing in number and power over time, eventually strong enough to invade Lamari. And invade they did, conquering the planet with little resistance. Dregon allowed Nefaria and Scorpina the opportunity to personally execute the families that wronged them, save for the crime boss. The one who had owned Scorpina's cursed bands had already fled far, far away, deep into space prior to the invasion.

The twins declared themselves the Queens of Lamari, appointing Dregon the title of Count. The trio then continued their conquest across the galaxy, crushing all who would defy them.
