An unusual girl. An enigmatic man. An ancient castle. What could go wrong?
An outcast her entire life, Corvina Clemm is left adrift after losing her mother. When she receives the admission letter from the mysterious University of Verenmore, she accepts it as a sign from the universe. The last thing she expects though is an old, secluded castle on top of a mountain riddled with secrets, deceit, and death.
An enigma his entire life, Vad Deverell likes being a closed book but knowing exactly everything that happens in the university. A part-time professor working on his thesis, Vad has been around long enough to know the dangers the castle possesses. They shouldn't have caught each other's eye. They cannot be. But a chill-inducing century-old mystery forces them to collide. People have disappeared every five years over the past century, Corvina is getting clues to unraveling it all, and Vad needs to keep an eye on her.
And so, begins a tale of the mysterious, the morbid, the macabre, and a deep love that blossoms in the unlikeliest of places.

One of my absolute favorite gothic romance reads EVER was Gothikana by @authorrunyx. I absolutely adore the story she crafted and the way she told it through Corvinia. Corvinia quickly became one of my favorite female main characters, I saw so much of myself in her, it’s actually a little scary😅. I knew when I finished I wanted to commission her in some way, and thanks to @colouranomaly this beautiful gothic deliciousness came to life! I hope yall love it as much as I do, and a million thanks to @colouranomaly !!!

sooooooo this might be a hot take, but when you read the synopsis for Gothicana by RuNyx and Nocticadia by Kerry Lake it sounds like the exact same book. even some sentences are exactly the same.
Now I haven't read either book, just the summary and it really struck me as super odd. Additionally the book visually look very similar (almost identical) in my bookstore so...
If anyone has read those two books. Is it literally the same book with different names ? I'm just wondering

This will last until the day roses on my grave stop sharing roots with the roses on yours,” he declared. “I will have you even in death, little witch. I am your beast. I am your madness. And you, you’re my afterlife.

Review: Join Corvina on this erotic and epic dark academia journey, where shadows whisper secrets, and danger lurks behind every corner.
Raised in isolation, Corvina Clemm is no stranger to loneliness. But when she receives a mysterious scholarship to the enigmatic University of Verenmore, she’s thrust into a world of dark hallways, forbidden knowledge, and an alluring professor who may be more than he seems. Vad Deverell is a man surrounded by mystery, his presence both intoxicating and dangerous. As Corvina unravels the school’s sinister history, she finds herself drawn into a web of secrets, obsession, and a passion that threatens to consume her.
Gothikana is a book that seems to divide readers—you’ll either love it or hate it. I, however, fall somewhere in the middle. The premise had so much potential, but the execution didn’t quite deliver. Plot holes and unresolved threads left me feeling unsatisfied, and the inconsistent writing, paired with editing issues, made certain parts difficult to follow.
The relationship between Corvina and Vad also didn’t quite work for me. It felt rushed and unbalanced, with a power dynamic that made some of their interactions uncomfortable to read. That said, I loved the dark, moody atmosphere and the layers of mystery that kept me engaged.
Despite its flaws, I still enjoyed the story overall. If you’re looking for a gothic romance with an eerie setting and mind-numbing spice—where the plot takes a backseat—this might be worth a read!
