New year, new nail polish 😁 They kinda look firework-y, so I guess it's time appropriate, lol. Three layered Born Pretty iridescent flakie polishes over a black background polish and base coat. Easy DIY metallic gradient gothic nail art, shown with and without flash 💅 I did these a couple of days ago when I realised I'd run out of black nail polish and had to get creative 😂 Luckily I own a LOT of acrylic paint. The only nail polish I used was non-gel clear. So I just got some acrylic paint (black, a couple of black and white mixes for dark and light grey, and metallic silver), a clear nail polish, a small paintbrush and a sponge that I cut into small sections. On top of a coat of dry clear polish (starting at the base of the nail) I painted black on the bottom third of the nail, followed by dark grey then a lighter grey towards the nail tip. While the paint was still wet, I dabbed across each nail with a small dry section of sponge to blend the gradient. With the acrylic painting part it's good to work on one nail at a time, because it dries quite quickly. Also, of it gets all over your skin it washes off pretty easily with soap and warm water. You can also use whatever colours you like. I added metallic silver paint to the nail tips one at a time and used a clean piece of sponge to gently dab the paint down along the length of the nail for a shimmery gradient effect.
