"Money!" cried the squire. "Have you heard the story? What were these villains after but money? What do they care for but money? For what would they risk their rascal carcasses but money?"
Treasure Island, Robert Louis Stevenson
(Epilepsy warning: flickering lights from 01:17 through 01:22 (if your display shows countdown timestamps, then 02:18 through 02:13))
[video description: a Black Sails fan video. Music is "Leaving the Old World" by Bytheway-May. Voiceover excerpts from the Treasure Island audiobook read by Michael Page.
The video fades in on Jack Rackham waiting in the Guthrie mansion in Philadelphia. A girl comes down the stairs and they converse: Girl: Is it true? Jack: I'm sorry? Girl: Uh, is it true⊠that you've come from Nassau? It's true isn't it? You're one of them. You're a pirate.
Instrumental orchestral music begins and the scene cuts to a view of the Walrus as it sails into the Skeleton Island bay. A voiceover asks, "Have you heard the story?"
Flint thumbs the edge of the missing page from the Urca schedule and his voice asks, "So you think that they see me as the villain in this particular story?"
Drawings of exaggerated pirate stereotypes blend with ghostly images of Flint in his more piratical moments. The voiceover asks, "What were these villains after but money?"
Flint asks Silver, "Why would you do that?" Silver responds, "You mean aside from the share of gold I'd get out of it?"
Miranda explains, "To show you a way out of all this, to free you." Flint demands, "A way out? Have you no memory of how we got here? What they took from us?"
Hornigold says, "I promised my men that if they stayed with me, they'd be soldiers again, that they'd be part of a rebel navy fighting a war to restore a rightful king."
Eleanor says to Vane, "âŠno more fighting, no more leads, no more chasing our fucking meals."
Silver continues, "âŠone big prize. And with it freedom."
Flint says to Anne, "We're all in this for our own reasons. You want your partner back. He wants victory. I want to set my home aright."
The music begins to swell. Billy tells Silver, "One more thing. No one gets any special treatment from you of any kind. No extra rations, no preferences in cuts of meat. Not for me, not for the quartermaster, not for the captain. Here, every man is equal."
Flint says to the maroon queen, over images of Julius, Billy, Vane, and white men in chains hauling lumber, "For every man in your camp, there are thousands somewhere in the West Indies living under the same yoke, chained in fields, pressed on ships, sold into indenture."
Max pleads with Eleanor, "We can have a life together. And it can start this very minute. All you have to do is say yes."
The music softens. The maroons are gathered happily around a large cooking fire, smiling and talking, and then we see Madi's face. She says, "But I hear other voices. A chorus of voices. Multitudes."
The video fades to black and the voiceover asks, "What did they care for but money?"
The music returns in earnest with dramatic drums and violins. Anne crawls across broken glass in the hold of a ship. Scott chokes a guard with the chains binding his wrists. Flint says, "Defined by their historiesâŠ" Vane stands at the gallows. Silver argues loudly with Flint, "I let you try it your way! I did trust you. But I am through wagering with her life now." A hooded Teach is dragged across the deck of a ship by a rope around his ankles. Flint continues, "âŠdistorted to fit into their narrative." Flint drives a sword into the belly of Peter Ashe. Eleanor desperately picks up a pistol and fires it at the Spanish soldier attacking her. Flint rises to his feet in the forest on Skeleton Island, continuing, "âŠuntil all that is left of us are the monsters in the stories they tell their children."
The music climaxes and fades to gentle piano. The video fades to black for a moment, then shows an old pirate leaning against a railing on a ship. The voiceover asks again, "Have you heard the story?" It returns to Jack and the girl in the Guthrie mansion. Girl: I heard⊠Jack: Hmm? Girl: He sometimes butchered his enemies for amusement, made stew of their flesh. Flint stands over a cowering Alfred Hamilton. Vane, covered in grave dirt, rises over the corpse of his childhood tormentor. Girl: He was truly an animal. Silver cries out in pain and anger as he crushes the skull of Dufresne with his iron foot. Jack: Stew? Girl: Mh-hmm. Jack: I'm⊠I beg your pardon, but you believe this? Girl: I read it in a newspaper. Jack: Oh. Girl: Mm.
Silver stands in the forest on Skeleton Island, tears in his eyes, jaw clenched. The voiceover asks, "For what would they risk their rascal carcasses but money?" The music fades away. Distantly, Israel Hands, Ben Gunn, and two other pirates turn toward a sound in the distance on the island.

đš Then n' Now - High Voltage edition âĄ
Yoinking @arcandoria's idea and making one of those before/after post focused on the babiesđ motivated by AND motivating @elvenbeard to do the same đđ€
This will be both a VP and Modding journey đ
ⶠDecember 2020
â "No mods, we die VP like men!"
AKA open up PhotoMode and get as close as you can to your fav, playing with angles while getting the camera stucks in the surrounding 80% of the time and trying to make the characters look at each others in a "natural" way đ
ⶠearly 2021
â "I learned how to app swap and I cannot be stopped"
I got into modding because/thanks to Mitch đ€ and the first thing I did was to .app swap him into all of the romance scenes đ©đ€ My BIG MODDER GOAL back then was to have Him and Valentin in the panzer scene, meaning I needed to find a way to:
Swap Valentin into Panam's place
Swap Mitch into V/Player's place
Unlock the camera / have a true free-roam experience
and also remove all of the HUD and green filter
I was just a tiny dude with Big Dreams đ
ⶠfirst half 2021
â "I can change clothes now! AKA OOC-fest"
Ugh. JHGFHJGHFJ
Looking back at some of the stuff I did before legit gives me so much icks now đ the joy and freedom of being a simp with fresh modding power, you just Do Stuff because You Can! Who cares if the character turns extremly OOC, right? keeping them for the memories đ€
ⶠfirst half 2021
â "ReShade? What's a ReShade"
My first month of playing around with Reshade! Everything was way too saturated, too bright or too dark- but it was new and exciting! Experimenting with more swapping, more photomode-posing đ€
ⶠJuly 2021
â "the Modding High"
Camera unlocks, Player Replacer, FixSwaps, Bi River trick, Blur Remover, Facial expressions for V, Swap to Everyone... my peak as a modder still to this day ngl
I achieved all I ever wanted, did the mods I needed to be able to smooch Mitch and have my canon panzer scene 𧥠(cannot showcase it here on Tumblr for hornyjail reason)
The "bi river" trick was involving CyberCat, an old save editor software that allowed you to swap V presets! You had to launch the romance scene with River as a fem V, then save at the start of it using the "Save Anytime" mod, edit your save file by swapping in your Male V preset, and Voila~ you had a Masc V in the River scene :D
ⶠAugust 2021
â "Custom poses Fever"
...and the first true love kisses!
Searching and modding your first poses swaps, then spawning the blorbos in game, timing the expressions and animation correctly and... having them "kiss for real" for the first time đ„șđ© ouugghh IT HITS! It hits so good!
From there, the rest of 2021 was focused on playing around with custom poses and exploring my own canon; giving new canon-compliant appearances to Mitch and Valentin, doing VP comics... also exploring some AUs and doing special occasion outfits, like Halloween!
ⶠ2022
â "I can create my own story"
I focused a lot on my own canon in 2022, via comics and photoset exploring what happens to both Mitch and Valentin's respective past and shared future together
Modding was also a big part of the year! There wasn't any big breakthrough other than the scenerid extract for custom poses, which allowed me to finally use the amazing tender animations from the Judy scene in my boys tent đ€
ⶠ2023
â "Still here"
There will always be new exciting way of exploring and creating content for my babes- the knowledge of custom made poses allowing us for even more angst, tenderness, passion!
and I'm looking forward to it all đ„șđ§Ą
Those years's been a whole creative journey~ and it's thanks to those two, my blorbos, my beloved stinkies, that I'm the modder and photographer that I am now!
Who knows where they'll take me next đđ
#Cyberpunk 2077#Mitch Anderson#Valentin Da Silva#Aldecaldos#OTP: High Voltage#MLM#Screenshot#Virtual Photography#did I cried? Yes. Maybe UHAHUGHUEZHU#focused more on 2021 because that's when my brain unlocked for real#not that I didn't improved in 2022 or this year but it's not the same#also included my modding stuff as well cause I feel like this played a big part in how I appreciate my ship too#My love letter to them Mwah đ©đ§Ą#flame still burning bright so I won't be stopping any time soon đ€#I'm more focused on modding this year- and also IRL stuff that are outside my control life gotta life yknow#but they both been keeping me sane and made me incredibly more crazy HGFH đ#long post#fav#then and now

đ€© ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: @mumubrix Hello everyone! It's time to direct the spotlight toward our community members, and today we will get to know better @mumubrix!
"Hi my name is Angel and Iâve been learning photography since January of 2021. Mumubrix is my social media name. Mumu is a Filipino (Tagalog) word for GHOST which is one of my favorite subjects.
I would say that my style is leaning more towards incorporating emotions to my photos. Different kinds of emotions. I also like to add mist, rain, water as much as I can. My favorite subject are animals and spooky minifigs though I am confident to say that I am versatile with my photography. It all depends on my mood.I have a journal where I write my ideas, because I can't draw, and have been building more recently. Building bricks have been such a stress reliever and is a great mental challenge for me. It is great to just build, break it apart and rebuild something else. I get a lot of new ideas from daily experiences, interesting conversations with strangers and just sheer imagination.I also enjoy harsh lights and shadows. I love the shadows, it's art in itself. Being able to learn photography and manipulating light is magic!
This is my basic gear. I cannot live without a tripod, I have the very basic tripod you can find from Amazon and the pocket size for low angle photos. I mainly use this lamp for main light and use a flash and a pocket mist for added "effects". I use a Canon EOS M50 mirrorless camera with a TT artisan macro lens. Everything here stays in my backpack except the tripod and the table lamp. If I want to make something float, I use the instant, the wire and the clamp to hold it, I also use the clamp to hold a piece of cardboard for bouncing the lights. I use the soldering hands if I need more floating pieces or if itâs a but windy outside. I have 2 more led lights that arenât in this photo but I mainly use it if I take photos indoors.
My #1 challenge is my lack of knowledge about photography, light, compositions. All I have is my story and that's all I needed because I found this great community where people help and teach each other. I was using my phone to take photos before and I really thought they were great but thankfully, the constructive criticisms are there to steer me back to the correct path. Not knowing what looks good to begin with was the first challenge I had to break.
The #2 is my gear. I was learning through tips and tricks from Brickcentral and videos from Four Bricks Tall but there are just some things that a phone camera can't do like achieving that good Depth of field, catching those beautiful misty light and shadows without it looking flat. Or just being able to focus on one subject without having to blur everything in the background using an editing software. That's when I knew I had to upgrade and I'm so happy I did.
And #3 is my fear of getting ignored by the algorithm. I have always been someone to question rules and limitations and that makes me tend to experiment quite a lot. I enjoy creating photos that are not mainstream like Happy Happy photos or character photos. I enjoy creating mysterious ones or emotional ones where real people can relate. I enjoy self-expression. And yet social platforms made me wonder some time ago if I'm doing the right thing, or that maybe I should follow what everyone else is doing so people can like my photos more. In other words, I became a "photo people pleaser". I got burnt out after a month and stopped taking photos. Then I realized that my photography makes me happy, and it should make me happy. Not the other way around.
My goal is to help anyone who is wiling to learn about photography. I have been blessed to be taught so much by this community and would like to return it to the world. I believe that art is innate and it is in everything and that you just have to tap in the right kind of art, the right people to give you good direction and the patience to learn.
For the community: Many thanks for all the patience and the tips, tricks and advice that the mods and everyone else share. Remember that you don't need a lot of things to start, just the willingness to learn and the realization that you can do it too. You just have to keep on practicing, go out and take photos, just go and do it and ask for feedback. You need feedback."
Thank you for accepting our invitation and let the community knows you better!

Look last summer I drove my 92 year old grandfather somewhere using Google maps since I don't know his area that well.
After we got home he asked me how he could "make the little map appear on his phone" and inwardly I sighed because I knew this would take a while.
I sat down with him and went through every app he could possibly need to use. I wrote him a cheat sheet for the different icons on his phone and what tapping them would do. I adjusted his text to make it bigger so it was easier to read. I reformatted his screen to give it more contrast so it was easier to see.
It took two hours. He then took his phone and my cheat sheet and went off by himself for several more hours. He occasionally came out to ask a few clarifying questions but by that evening he didn't need the cheat sheet anymore. He knew what the apps did he had downloaded several more so he could read his news sites on the phone as well. He had downloaded photo editing software so he could edit and adjust his photos better.
I found out later that he had been given a new phone by his phone company two weeks before and the people at the phone company had refused to walk him through any of it, telling him to purchase the manual online. The manual was over 500 pages of mostly modern technical jargon that never explained how to work Google maps or anything even remotely useful for what he needed to know.
This man used one of the very first computers ever built when he started working as a government computer scientist back in his late teens and early twenties. He's now facetiming me every few weeks excitedly telling me about what new tricks he's figured out how to do on his phone. Telling me with pride how pleased he is by how far technology has come.
Older people learning to use technology with an open mind is a wonderful thing to watch. It makes the world more accessible for them. And while I didn't want to do it at the time I'm so happy I took the time to teach him because otherwise I'm pretty sure he would have read that entire 500 page manual instead just to try and figure out how to download the new york times.
Me: âHow can I help you today, ma'am?â Client: âIs e-mail internetâ? Me: âI beg your pardon?â Client: âIs e-mail on the internet? I have no internet, can I still read my e-mail?â Me: âWell yes, you must be able to get online to view your e-mail.â Client: âOh, dear. I canât see my e-mail.â Me: âWell, letâs see. Can you open up Internet Explorer for me and tell me what you see?â Client: âOpen what?â Me: âYour browser, can you open up your browser?â Client: âMyâŠmyâŠ?â Me: âWhat you click on when you want to browse the internet?â Client: âI donât use anything, I just turn my computer on, and itâs there.â Me: âOkay. Do you see the little blue âeâ icon on your desktop?â Client: âYou mean I have to start writing letters again?â Me: âIâmâŠwhat, Iâm sorry?â Client: âI donât have any pens at my desk. I just want my e-mail again.â Me: âNo, ma'am, your desktop, on your computer screen. Can you click on the little blue âeâ on your computer screen for me?â Client: âOh, this is too much work. Iâm too upset. Just send me my e-mail. Canât you send me my e-mail?â Me: âWeâŠokay, ma'am. Can you tell me what color the lights are on your router right now?â Client: âMy what?â Me: âThe little box with green or possibly a couple of red lights on it right now - itâs most likely near your computer?â
Client: âLights and boxes, boxes and lights, just get my e-mail for me.
Me: âMy test is showing that you should be able to get online right now. Can you tell me what youâre seeing on your computer screen?â Client: âItâs been the same thing for the last two hours.â Me: âAn error message?â Client: âNo, just stars. Itâs black and moving stars.â Me: ââŠDo you see your mouse next to your keyboard?â Client: âYes.â
Me: âMove it for me.â Client: âMove it?â Me: âYes. Move it.â Client: âMy e-mail!â

What should you know to Mastering Video & Podcast Editing
Hi people, specially to those wanna kick start video podcasting and podcast editing. Letâs Start with some questions today:
â What editing software do you use? Looking for something that wonât break the bank but still does a solid job.
â Biggest editing headaches? What parts of editing make you wanna pull your hair out? How do you deal with them?
â Any shortcuts or hacks? Iâm all ears for tips on making editing faster without cutting corners on quality.
â Your editing flow? Whatâs your step-by-step process from raw footage to uploading?
â Interviews vs solo episodes: Do you edit them differently? Got any tricks?
Well lets just figure that out together, Shall we??
UNDERSTANDING YOUR EDITING NEEDS
Start slowly. Upload the first few episodes with minimal or no editing, just so you get used to this new phase without getting bugged by all the editing learning curve.
For solo episodes just upload your cam, for guests episodes just make it half you half them on screen.
As you move on and learn more about editing, you can start adding new tricks.
Before we jump into specific software recommendations, letâs take a moment to understand your editing needs. Every podcaster is unique, and the software that works best for one may not necessarily be ideal for another. Consider factors such as:
Your budget constraints
The complexity of your editing tasks
Desired features like noise reduction, audio enhancement, and multi-track editing
Compatibility with your operating system
By understanding your requirements upfront, you can make a more informed decision when choosing the right editing software.
AUDACITY: THE FREE POWERHOUSE
If youâre on a tight budget but still demand powerful editing capabilities, look nowhere else except Audacity. This open-source software has been a favorite among podcasters for years, and for good reason.
FEATURES
Multi-track editing for seamless audio production
Built-in effects for noise reduction, EQ, and compression
Support for various audio formats, including WAV, MP3, and AIFF
Customizable interface with a wide range of plugins available

Beginner-friendly interface with extensive online tutorials
Cross-platform compatibility (Windows, macOS, Linux)
CONS
Limited advanced features compared to premium software
Interface may feel outdated to some users
Read the Detailed Analysis Here.
REAPER: THE BUDGET-FRIENDLY OPTION
If youâre willing to invest a little bit of money for enhanced functionality without breaking the bank, Iâd say Reaper will be an excellent choice.
FEATURES
Fully customizable user interface with extensive theme options
Support for unlimited audio tracks and MIDI recording
Wide range of built-in effects and plugins
Regular updates and active community support
PROS
Affordable licensing options, including a generous evaluation period
Lightweight and efficient performance, even on older hardware
Versatile for both audio editing and music production
CONS
Steeper learning curve compared to some other options
Requires a paid license after the evaluation period (though still reasonably priced)
HINDENBURG JOURNALIST: STREAMLINED SIMPLICITY
For podcasters who prioritize simplicity and efficiency, Hindenburg Journalist offers a user-friendly editing experience tailored specifically for audio storytelling.

Automated audio leveling for consistent sound quality
Intuitive interface with customizable presets for quick editing
Integrated publishing tools for seamless distribution to podcast platforms
Dedicated customer support with a focus on journalistic storytelling
PROS

Automated features save time and effort during editing
Compatible with both Windows and macOS
CONS
Higher price point compared to some other options
Limited advanced editing features for more complex projects
FINDING YOUR PERFECT FIT
When it comes to podcast editing software, thereâs no one-size-fits-all solution. The key is to find a tool that aligns with your editing needs, budget constraints, and technical proficiency. If you are too much stressed out with editing, then you should Delegate them to the experts. Visit soundorp.com/services where we have covered them all up.
Whether you opt for the free versatility of Audacity, the budget-friendly power of Reaper, or the streamlined simplicity of Hindenburg Journalist, rest assured that you can achieve professional-quality results without breaking the bank.
So go ahead, explore your options, and win your podcasting career with confidence. With the right editing software by your side, the only limit is⊠I donât know⊠maybe your imagination!
I have answered the rest of the questions in my blog, Read the Full Article Here.

Learn this 1 WEIRD trick!
One of the weirder tricks I ever got from a therapist was a sort of instinct trigger facial analysis. As a sort of conscious way to make yourself do a gut check on someone.
And I do weirdly still do it for any therapist I consider seeing. Others as well upon occasion.
So I'll go find their official glamour shot and put it into a some kind of image editing software.
And I'll note my first impressions like, nice smile, leans into left side, kind of back and maybe a little defensive on right. Chosen to display as efficient, utilitarian instead of fancy or slovenly. Not necessarily just one of the regular folk but also not trying to put herself in a superior position. She is business appropriate professional but relaxed as that allows.
And then I divide up the face to sort of burrow in.
So, I'll start at the bottom and go counterclockwise spiral.
I notice that the smile seems to really shine in isolation. She feels pretty friendly.
look over to the right and now she seems intense, focused, it feels like her brain is ON which makes me feel a little uncomfortable with the intensity but also like she's not going to miss a trick which is good.
Up top and both eyes together feels a little more gentle. Intellectual (possibly from the glasses) but compassionate with it.
Drop to the right and she looks playful if anything. She gives me the feeling of enjoying life. The sort of person whose presence might be pretty enjoyable.
Swing past the bottom and out to the bottom right and it's still got a little of that playfulness in the intensity for me. Like she won't take it too, too seriously, she feels willing to back up and laugh if it gets TOO intense which is comforting to me.
Up to the top right and, yeah, on, perceptive, she's actually, actively LOOKING rather than just being there for the camera.
Top left corner and yeah, it's ok, she feels engaged, not like I'm a bug under a microscope. Interested rather than finding me an interesting specimen or something like that.
Bottom left, and that feels like pure playful friendliness. She feels very open and safe in that corner.
And finally I'll go back to the whole picture and remember that my first impression was that simple she is leaning into the left, what I am perceiving as her friendly, engaged, welcoming, even playful side. So I'm feeling like that may be her dominant way of looking at things while the sort of height of the right shoulder is her defensive reaction - she goes intellectual when things go wrong. Which reflects on her outfit choice, she's balancing these two forces. She wants to be friendly and leans in as much as she can but is also aware that things are expected and that there are certain things that must be done for whatever reason and she'll modify her instinctual behavior for engagement with logical detachment.
The most important thing to remember at this point is that NONE of this is true.
This is purely my bias and gut feeling based on extremely little information. All I have is a name, picture, and vague context (therapist). She might be radically different than I imagine her. It's extremely probable that I am not miraculously correct about her deep inner nature just by looking at a photo on a website.
AND we do this sort of thing ALL the time.
This is the underlying basis of bias, discrimination, racism, etc. Our subconscious immediately makes up bs stories about people we see.
We then delete those assumptions (ideally) as new information comes in.
The two major differences here is (1) the artificial oddity of how I am doing it so that (2) I am doing it in a slow conscious fashion rather than a lightning quick unconscious one.
I'm examining my instincts more, rather than less, and that is probably a lot less information than my subconscious is deciding to work with and probably nowhere near as efficient. However, it's a good bet that we're reaching the same conclusion.
My gut is telling me, yeah, she's probably someone who it is safe to risk contacting and seeing if we mesh because so little is giving me warning signs that I can at least suspect I'm not going to sabotage the relationship out the gate by distrust. Her still feeling a little friend-shaped after all that uncomfortable staring at features in isolation is probably a good indication that something about her triggers some connection with something I like, even if I'll never figure out exactly what that is.
And I'll also pass on that if you do this a lot, you'll start to notice a lot more people than you would think don't feel very good or positive when you do this with them. The weirdness of the process tends to make people feel weird and uncomfortable and dangerous. I suspect it is biased by the process toward distrust though it is hard to say because I certainly do have trust ISSUES. But the flip side of that is that when someone passes as ok, I feel much better about taking the next step.
So... I figured I would pass it on.
Again, no truth or fact in it. This is pure assumption and imagination work. There is Ă EXTERNAL validity. It isn't really about them. It's about the perceptions and assumptions that I am having so I can look at them clearly.
Just something that occasionally helps me move forward when I'm not sure about doing so because I am feeling frightened of what can go wrong between me and someone. It makes me feel calmer and safer and like it is possible instead of overwhelming anxiety.
I was making this one anyway, since I'm thinking about making an initial consult with her and am reluctant to get the treatment she provides. But the positive perceptions I'm getting are telling me that I am more FOR seeing her than I am AGAINST seeing her, whatever the actual reasons. Which is good to know. It lets me say, hey, I should take that next step, it'll be ok.
Maybe it might help you too if you have trouble with checking your nervous gut like I do. Let you bring your feelings more clearly front and center. Can also help you identify oddly recurring biases you can't otherwise explain. So I offer it on.

ResoundÂ
At the beginning there was a lot of uncertainty for the resound. It was confusing because It didnât specify whether to add to the music and make it a full experience or make a new experience without the music. There wasnât a clear take of what needed to be and was admittedly put on the backburner. Personally it felt more clear for the documentary because it had strictly the bounds of the project and ironically allowed for creativity. With this project, there couldnât be seen with the visual elements while making the sounds up until editing software. The first task of the resound was the iron man fight, the purpose of that was to learn how to use adobe premiere. It was the easiest to learn from there, but everything else was quite difficult to work; which will be in a separate post. In one module we learnt that documentaries would fake sounds for an animal to give an illusion for reality. In the homework it was to find a unique sound. So I used my lander to fake fire and we would draw pictures of what was happening. I only used one of the tricks with hands for the feet running on the ground. So coming back to why I had picked this clip, it was because of the inspirations from one other module, on how sounds make a clip feel completely different from the whooping gangnam style. Perhaps it was too ambitious to do because of the other things that werenât considered in the video, like the other small details. Though a lot more focus was on the other project. The music video that I picked and done does feel underwhelming because more attention was placed onto the other project. It got more feedback for this one than it did the other. What could have been done is found ways of making the experience more interesting to make of it. What I liked about doing the res sound was adding sounds that werenât there before. Though I couldâve gotten creative and strange with the sounds of walking or found ways of making the experience more enriching like I did with the other projects. It wasnât because of time management, or the planning that was the issue. It was a lack of clear structure from what I was doing, and when most projects come in. It's hard finding a balance of putting attention into one thing and as a result needs more improvement.Â

As someone who never truly did the change between CDs and Digital... I mean...
(sorry for the terrible picture, I forget that I should remove the case of my phone when taking pics otherwise I get that pink glow on the right)
And as someone who decided to discover new bands from Russia which makes impossible for me to buy their albums because:
A) I'm broke
B) My country has a limit on how much money you can spend overseas and there is no warranty the the items will be delivered in time or delivered at all.
I had to burn some CDs by myself (I had to stop because finding CDs to burn became a mission) I've used 2 methods. Bear in mind I have an old computer that has a CD burner by itself.
1. Nero Express.
This software allows you to burn CDs and DVDs (I think even Blu-Ray but since I lack that hardware I don't know). It's quite intuitive, you open the Nero Burning ROM and it lets you of choose what to burn.
The one thing I don't like is that when making CD it only allows you burn a certain amount of time, not the full disk (so, let's say 10 songs when the capacity could be between 15 and 20). So, you just have to pay attention to that.
2. Windows Media Player.
Yes, I use Windows, I've told you that I'm broke and I also live by the end of the world. Get over it! Windows Media player lets you record CDs and this was my preferred method to use because I was able to fit 2 albums in 1 CD (opposite Nero). Again, it's quite intuitive, you enter a new CD, select what you want to do, drag the files and hit Enter or OK (can't quite remember, it's been a while).
Now, to get music from Internet.
1. The Oldest Trick: You can put the word "bajar" ("download" in Spanish, I never tried using an English word to do it) between the WWW. and Youtube (so www.bajaryoutube.com/WHATEVERVIDEOURLYOUWANT) and it lets you download MP3 or MP4. However sometimes copyright is an issue so, if possible, do not to use the original video on the official page of your selected artist, there is always someone that reuploaded the song on a fanvideo or something like that.
2. BEWARE WITH THIS ONE: there are websites that let you download either music or videos from Youtube (and other websites as well, you need to taylor your search). The main risk is for the malware/virus that are lurking in them. I use this site a lot but a friend of mine did got a virus by accidentally clicking on one of the pop-ups that show up when doing the stuff. So, be mindful and keep your PC/Cellphone antivirus up to date... and try not to touch anything you don't have to. The good thing is that in that website, copyright is not an issue (or maybe a very rare one) it can download anything.
3. Atube Catcher: my aunt uses this software to download videos. I've never used it myself but if she can do it, it is simple enough (she is not very tech savvy). I think its only for video, so MP4, but you can always download the video and separate the music on a Video Editing software (I use a cracked version of Filmora 9 by Wondershare because the free version leaves watermarks).
4. OBS Studio : this is quite a versatile software that lets you record and stream. If you want to record a video, you have to select the items you want to record (screen, audio output) and always pay attention to that (for instance if you want to record any kind of virtual gathering, you must select "microphone" as well, otherwise whatever you say won't be recorded). It takes a learning curve but its not that hard after all.
5. Telegram: I know that USA is in love with text messages but in the rest of the world we use apps that just need a working line and WiFi to run (so, no charging fees for every message. You might have just the activation code sent on an SMS and nothing else). In Argentina we use mostly WhatsApp but a few times their servers went down -hasn't happened in a while- leaving us incommunicated for almost a whole day, thats why at home we also use Telegram. The good thing about Telegram is that it has fangroups (channels, something WhatsApp is trying to copy) as well and people post media (pictures, videos, songs) in them as they would do in any other Social Media. I found the entire discographies of ĐгаŃĐ° ĐŃĐžŃŃĐž (Agata Kristi) and ĐĐŸŃĐŸĐ»Ń Đž ĐšŃŃ (The King and the Jester) in here and I'm so thankful for it... it stops me from using Spotify. They won't be on MP4 but on m4a, still they can be reproduced and burned on CD by Windows Media Player.
6. VK: Đ ĐĐŸĐœŃĐ°ĐșŃĐ” is basically Russian Facebook the layout is pretty much the same BUT you can share media on it (books, movies, music) however to be able to download it you must pay a fee. So it's not for everyone, but it's an option.
Hopefully you'll find this tools useful on your endevour into piracy.
PS: I do encourage you to buy the original CDs as much as you can. I don't know much about the new wave but old-school artists usually get a big chunk of their money from their physical sales. Lately it was replaced by their sold tickets because no-one was buying CDs anymore.
Unlike streaming services that pay cents on the dollar for each listener/reproduction, labels have a better deal with them (still not 50/50 or anything alike, but better) so buying physical media does 2 things: shows that people are interested in them (making them profitable) and gives them some bucks.
HOLD THE LINE!! KEEP PUSHING!!!!!
#that time were living on a constant economical crisis makes you creative on your media consumption and you can share your knowledge#physical media#the rebirth of CDs and DVDs#it's a pirate's life for me đŽââ ïž#like... when you're broke but that's kind of helpful

Tisch School of the Arts,
New York University.
New York City.Â
âYouâve got that face on,â Claire said.Â
âWhat face is that, Claire?â
âYour trademark ready-to-go-home face,â she giggled. âYou tired?â
âJust a little,â you whispered, head resting on her shoulder, feet hanging off the bed. âHad a long day at rehearsal.âÂ
âAh,â she nodded. âWell, if you wanna go, we can go. Iâll walk you home.â
âNo,â you shook your head, and placed your hand on her arm. âItâs fine. Iâm having a good time.âÂ
Soft music played through the small speakers on Jonathanâs desk, mixing in with the chatter of your friends. Everyone sat in different spaces around the room, some on the desk, some on Johnâs bed, and you and Claire rested on his roommateâs bed. Open solo cups of beer were scattered amongst the room. It was calm, chill, and then the door swung open.
âYoooooo!â The entering voice rang, instantly earning a happy response from Johnathan, who hopped off his bed and ran towards the entrance.Â
âGube!â John exclaimed, arms open wide to embrace his friend. He always got a little touchy-feely when he was tipsy. âWhere the hell you been, man?â
âConsider my good time ruined,â you murmured to Claire.
âBe nice, [y/n],â she responded, patting your leg. âEveryoneâs having a nice time, donât start anything.â
âMe? Me? I donât start anything, I never start anything. Itâs him who starts it. That diââ
âHey, [y/n],â Matthew greeted, taking a seat beside John. âHey, Claire.â
âHey, Gube,â Claire smiled. She gave you a gentle nudge with her elbow.Â
You rolled your eyes, âHi, Matthew,â you reluctantly replied, refusing to make eye contact.Â
âAw, câmon, thatâs all I get?â Matthew teased. âWhatâs wrong, sleeping beauty? You tired?âÂ
âOh, you have no idea,â you told him, finally looking over at him. He wore a white polo, paired with a busted pair of jeans and white converse with his mismatched socks poking out. On his chest sat his trademark gold chain, the medallion set in the center of his sternum.Â
âMight be past your bedtime,â he shrugged. âReally. Might be better if you just left.âÂ
âMe?â You scoffed. âWhy donât you leave? We were perfectly fine before you got here.â
âOh, God,â someone groaned. âHere they go.â
âJohn wants me here. Iâm a little more fun than someone who falls asleep mid-conversation, so I can see why.â
âMatthew, why are you talking to me? Can you just pretend,â you waved your arms around. âPretend thereâs a wall here.âÂ
âDonât mind her,â Claire interjected. âSheâs crabby because she hasnât started editing her project yet.âÂ
You gasped, âWhy would you just announce that, Claire? I didnât wanna be reminded of that.âÂ
â[y/n], youâre gonna be fucked if you donât get that shit done. Itâs due next week.â Another friend told you.Â
You groaned, âYes. I know that. But Iâve been killing myself practicing for the show every night. And when I finally sat down to start editing, I didnât know how to work the damn software!âÂ
âYou donât know how to work EasyEdit?â
âNo,â you sighed. âI missed class that day. I tried to learn on YouTube, and that confused me even more. So, I have since then given up.â
âHm,â John hummed. âYou know whoâs really good with EasyEdit?â
âWho?â
âGube,â John answered. This prompted Matthew to lift his head up at astronomical speed, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. âHe taught me how to use it. He could help you, [y/n].â
âJohn...â Claire said.Â
âWhat, Claire?â John replied. â[y/n] needs help and Gube can help. Iâm just saying.âÂ
You cut your eyes over to Matthew, who was watching you, but he quickly turned away when you made eye contact.Â
âYouâre not clever,â Claire shook her head. âYouâre nosey is what you are.âÂ
âNosey?â You pipped, tapping Claireâs arm. âWhat do you mean nosey?âÂ
âI mean, if you and Gube just...â John said. âIâm gonna say it - fucked - one good time, the two of you could get over this whole rivalry already.â
âAnd stop arguing all the damn time,â someone added. âThe shitâs annoying.â
Your jaw had been dropped since the word âfuckedâ was uttered. You looked up at Claire who gave you a sympathetic smile.Â
âI-â You stuttered. âI...never say that again, John! Ever. Ew!â
âEw?â Matthew exclaimed. âYouâd be lucky if I tossed you a bone.â
Your jaw dropped even lower, stunned by Matthewâs words. âYou arrogant son of a bitch,â you muttered. âAnd this is who you want me to allow near my final project?â You directed at John.Â
âHey, if you donât wanna fuck me, it shouldnât be a problem, right?â Matthew taunted, biting his lip and tilting his head.Â
âNo. I donât wanna fuck you! I also donât want to spend any more time with you than I absolutely have to. So I will learn EasyEdit by myself.âÂ
âOkay,â Matthew shrugged. âYouâre not gonna figure that shit out in time, but fine, princess. Be stubborn.âÂ
You rolled your eyes at him, shaking your head in annoyance.Â
â[y/n], let Gube help,â Claire said. âYouâre gonna drive yourself insane with that and the show coming up, plus finals? Just this once.â
You looked over at Matthew, instantly getting angry again. Hate is a strong word. Itâs a very, very strong word. And youâd never use it against anybody. Ever. Except Matthew Gubler. That may sound a bit dramatic, so to clear up any confusion, hereâs a composite list of every asshole, dick, bastard, bitch-ass move heâs made in one semester:
1. Broke your editing equipment trying to do magic tricks in class.
2. Didnât apologize.
3. Called your last documentary âuninspired, dry, a little like a lullaby.â
4. Took the last spot for an internship over Christmas break.Â
5. Which he knew you wanted.
6. Refused to partner with you on a final project because âyou canât even get to class everyday.â
7. In front of everyone because heâs a jackass.
8. Told you that you were insane for majoring in film making AND ballet.Â
9. Proceeded to tell you that you look better in a leotard than a suit.
10. Fucked your roommate.
11. While you were in the room.
12. Insisted that Wes Craven is a better horror director than Tim Burton? Is he dumb?
13. Calls you ballerina barbie, short stack, princess, anything other than your actual name.Â
14. Wonât drop dead.Â
And, because youâre not going to let anyone treat you that way, hereâs a list of things youâve done in retaliation:Â
1. âAccidentallyâ stepped on his canvas.Â
2. 3 times.
3. Uploaded a video of you calling him a dick in place of his documentary.Â
4. Yes, he did play it for the class on accident.
5. Told him you didnât want to be his partner anyway since he walks around stoned 24/7.Â
6. Laughed.Â
7. Told him heâd be a good ballerina. His tiny dick would fit perfectly in a leotard.Â
8. Fucked his friend. While said friend was supposed to help Matthew with his project.Â
9. Told him none of Edgar Allan Poeâs work was actually interesting enough for screen time. (He almost passed out, he got so mad.)
10. Told him his mismatch socks were dumb.Â
11. Consistently call him asshole, dick, jackass, or just Matthew. All synonyms.
12. Refuse to let him mess with you.Â
So, the idea of him helping you with your project, coming into your room, bothering you for hours on end, was a ridiculous thought. You should punch John for even mentioning it. Except. It wasnât a bad idea.Â
âHey, pants stay on,â Matthew said, giving you a smirk. âBoy Scouts honor.âÂ
Everyone was looking at you. It made you queasy. Annoyed. Angry. And you couldnât take it. So, you sighed heavily and cut your eyes towards Matthew. âFine,â you grimaced. âFine. Monday night. You will teach me how to use EasyEdit. And then we can all drop this.âÂ
âAh, success,â John cheered. âIâm not worried, though. Look at [y/n], sheâs so innocent. She looks like she belongs on top of a Christmas tree. She does ballet for crying out loud. I doubt fucking is on her to-do list.â
âAnd on that note,â you pushed yourself off the bed. âIâm going to my room. Goodnight.âÂ
Your room was just down the hall, and you showered, changed, brushed your teeth and got into bed in all of 30 minutes. Just about to fall asleep, you were disturbed by the sound of keys jingling in the door. Sloppy footsteps stumbled into the room, accompanied by silly giggles.
Thinking you were asleep, your roommate admired your sleeping frame, âAwwww,â she cooed. âPrecious, precious, [y/n].â She walked over to you and rubbed your shoulder.Â
âYouâre crazy to not wanna fuck Matthew,â she whispered, chuckling. âYou donât know what youâre missing, kid.â
And you stayed still, silent, pretended to snore. All while Claire crawled into her bed.Â
When Monday rolled around, you spent the entire day with a chip on your shoulder. Claire kissed the top of your head and insisted youâd be fine, that your project would be done by the end of the night and youâd be grateful for Matthewâs help. But she knew that was a dead cause in her heart of hearts. You both knew itâd be a miracle if Matthew and you made it through 15 minutes of editing.Â
When she left to go to a friendâs place, you changed into pajama pants, combined with a cozy cropped button sweater. You sat at your desk, and waited. Youâd told Matthew to arrive at 7.Â
He got there at 7:59.
By then, you were laying in bed, pissed and upset that youâd actually been convinced to give Matthew a chance. He knocked on the door, and you answered with an attitude. âGo home, Matthew.âÂ
âDonât be like that, short stack,â he sighed, following you as you stomped into the room. âI got caught up. Iâm sorry.âÂ
âYeah? Whatâd you get caught up with? A gram?â You spit.Â
He laughed, âHaha, so funny. No, I was not getting high. I was working on my own project. That I finished. Ahead of time. Can you relate, [y/n]?âÂ
âGet out of my room,â you scoffed. âI asked you for one thing. One. And you couldn't even do that. You knew how important this project was to me, and you didnât give a fuck. I wasted time waiting for you that I couldâve been working or rehearsing! IâAre you listening?âÂ
Matthewâs eyes had been concentrated solely on your chest, âAre you wearing a bra?â He asked.Â
You took a step back, stunned, blinking rapidly as you searched around the room. âIâm sorry,â you said. âIâm just trying to find where the hell that came from?âÂ
âIt came from that itty bitty shirt youâre wearing,â he replied with a shrug. âDoesnât really leave much to the imagination.âÂ
âStop staring at my tits!â You shouted, face turning red. âGod, Matthew, I canât stand to look at you right now. Just, leave. Please.âÂ
He did not stop staring at your tits. Not for a very long time. But when he did, he had this look in his eyes. Like a wire had snapped. And he kissed you. Cupped your face in his hands, pulled you close, and kissed you. You pressed your hands against his chest, face contorting in shock and confusion.Â
You pushed him away, lips retracting with a sharp smacking noise. Saliva dripped from your lips, and you stood there, huffing and puffing like the two of you had just run a mile. âWhat the hell was that?â You snapped, your fingertips lightly touching your bottom lip.Â
He didnât reply. He was just as speechless as you were. Speechless, and confused, and out of breath, and so, so pretty. He was so pretty. Has he always been that pretty?Â
You grabbed onto the hem of his shirt and pulled him back in, pressing your lips together in an aggressive collision. Matthewâs hand gripped onto your hair, his body pushing itself against yours in an eager attempt to get as close to you as possible. His other hand made its way to your waist, gripping onto your skin so hard, his nails left marks. Both his hands began to snake down your body, landing on the back of your thighs.Â
Very suddenly, Matthew scooped you up in his arms, yanking your feet off of the ground. You let out a breathy âoofâ as you found yourself perched in his grasp, your legs wrapped around his torso, your hands on his shoulders. He supported your weight so easily, all while sliding his tongue into your mouth.Â
He carried you over to your bed, where he abruptly dropped you onto the mattress, and looked down at you with a lustful grin. Standing beside the bed, he leaned in as if he was going to kiss you â slowly, with his hands reaching out to touch your body â but he didnât. Instead, he placed his hands on your ribs and pushed your sweater up, over your breasts to reveal your chest.Â
âI knew it,â he whispered. âI knew you werenât wearing a bra.âÂ
Your breath caught in your throat, before you released it shakily. His lips wrapped around your nipple, wetting it with his tongue and applying light suction. A soft moan left your mouth, and you gripped onto his hair in ecstasy. He couldnât stop himself from smiling. He sucked harder, to the point of pain, just to hear you make some noise. Any noise. When one nipple began to pulse between his lips, he moved to the other, leaving a trail of love bites between them.Â
The heat between your legs was suffocating, and you rubbed your thighs together for some relief. Matthew noticed this, and proceeded to stick his hands down your pants, fingers sliding underneath the band of your underwear. He smirked at how soaked you were already and rubbed your clit as he licked a trail up to your neck. You tightened your thighs around his hand, gasping at the friction and pulling at the bedsheets.Â
The sound caused Matthew to take in a sharp breath of air. His cock was pressed against the zipper of his jeans, and was getting to the point that it was excruciating. So, as he massaged your nerve, he undid his pants and pushed them down his legs.Â
He nibbled on your ear, and as you gave him a quiet moan, your eyes flickered down to look between your bodies. Flushed, and horny, and suddenly so desperate, you grabbed onto Matthewâs large erection and pressed the tip against your clit.Â
He grunted and pulled back to stare you in the eye, a sly grin creeping onto his face. He laughed, âI knew it. I fucking knew it. Innocent? Innocent, my ass.âÂ
As you rolled your eyes at him, he kissed your lips softly, hands holding onto your thighs. You positioned his cock at your entranced and allowed him to press into you. He stood up straight, watching his cock disappear inside you, slowly, steadily, before he suddenly slammed into you. The sound of skin colliding on skin mixed in with your and Matthewâs moans, and he watched your head roll back in pleasure.Â
He licked his lips, smirking. And he did it again. And again. And again. Pulling out all the way and pushing back into you. Hard. The sensation struck your chest, and elicited vulnerable moans from you every time he pounded you. Matthew instantly began to speed his hips up, nails digging into your thighs as he pressed your legs open for him. His used all his strength to fuck you, your head knocking into the wall with every thrust. It was sloppy and messy and you couldnât stop whimpering. Your eyes were screwed shut, and when you opened them again, the first thing you noticed with his chain. The gold medallion dangled in your face, Matthewâs lips pressed against your cheek.Â
Absentmindedly, you tangled your fingers in the chain, tugging on it as your volume increased. âFuck,â you muttered. âOh, fuck.âÂ
He brought his hand up to your face, placing his thumb on your bottom lip. âOpen your mouth,â he ordered, quietly, softly. And you did it without thinking. His thumb slid into your mouth, twirling around your tongue and stifling your moans.Â
He removed his hand and placed his thumb on your clit, wetting the skin with your own saliva. You let out a loud yelp at the new sensation, and a bubble instantly formed in your stomach.Â
Oh, no, not Matthew, you thought. Donât let it be Matthew.Â
But with his cock and his hips and the way he kissed your neck and rubbed your sensitive nerve all at once. You came, you came with a fit of pornographic moans, trembling and writhing around on the bed.Â
And it was Matthew â the first guy to make you come. Ever.Â
He licked his lips as he watched you come undone beneath him, proud of himself â to the point of cockiness. Giving you a few more forceful pumps, he pulled out of you and released himself onto your chest, watching the fluid cover the hickies heâd left there.Â
He looked angelic on top of you, moaning, panting, swearing under his breath. But the moment he finished, he stepped back, fastened his pants and walked away. You propped yourself up on your elbows, watching him in a daze.Â
Matthew logged onto your computer, pressed a few buttons and then closed the laptop shut. Then he left.Â
However, the next day he sent you an email. Your project. Fully and perfectly edited.Â
Okay. So, that happened. They said it would happen and it happened. Didnât necessarily make you hate Matthew any less, but it happened. It was good. You hated to admit it. And it was all you could think about. You couldnât even touch yourself or hold your pillow without thinking of Matthew. It was bad.Â
Especially, given the fact that after the whole situation, he decided not to talk to you. At all. Not in class, not while hanging out with friends, not even to pick a fight. Complete and utter radio silence. He looked at you enough though. Not while you were looking at him, of course. So, as far as you knew, you were far off of his mind. But life had to go on. You had to focus on school, and on top of that, you were due to perform in NYUâs production of Swan Lake in less than two weeks.Â
You landed the main role of Odette, meaning for the next two weeks, you had to eat, sleep, breathe ballet. You practiced for hours on end, barely saw your friends, which gave you a good break from seeing Matthew.Â
Opening night rolled around and you were so nervous, you thought you might puke. Only a freshman, it was a miracle you landed the role in the first place, which meant your performance tonight was a make or break moment. Claire could tell you were sick to your stomach and tried to distract you by taking a bunch of pictures on her phone.
âSmile, pretty girl!â She beamed, the flashing going off in your face as you posed. â[y/n], youâre gonna kill it! Iâm so excited! Arenât you excited?â
âYeah...â you whispered. âDeathly excited.â
âAw, poor baby,â she swung her arm around your shoulder. âDonât worry. Iâm gonna be front and center, cheering you on. Just focus on me, okay?âÂ
You smiled and nodded, taking in a deep breath. âOkay.âÂ
Your body was on autopilot out on stage. The movements youâd practiced everyday, for hours and hours on end, just flowed. The lighting in the audience was dark, but you could just barely make out Claireâs figure under the soft hue.Â
It wasnât until the finale, when you stood ready for your closing performance, that the lights switched to their full intensity and you noticed a hand resting on Claireâs shoulder. An arm resting behind her head. Someone whispering in her ear, making her laugh.Â
Matthew.
He was here. He was here and he was with Claire. He was with Claire and he was watching you. And it made your stomach feel weird. But then the music kicked up. So, you had to go. You fell into your dance, your rhythm and for some reason, you could not stop staring at Matthew.Â
Every twirl, you made him your focal point. Looking at him again, and again, and again. Until the lights went out.Â
Supporting ballerinas cheered you on as you walked offstage, throwing flowers at your feet and giving you applause. Your instructor marched right up to you, kissed both sides of your face and embraced you. It was a wonderful feeling, but right then, you were drained, emotionally, mentally, physically, you needed some rest.Â
You locked yourself away in your dressing room, taking a seat in the mirror and beginning to remove your tights. Pressing a makeup wipe to your skin, you jumped, startled by a knock on the door. You rose from your seat and walked to the entrance casually, expecting Claire to greet you.Â
âšBut you froze, as soon as you opened the door. Eyes glazing over the person in front you, your breath caught in your throat. âMatthew.âÂ
âHey,â he smiled. He looked you up and down â your naked legs, your breasts poking through the thin material of the leotard. âYou...you were amazing tonight.âÂ
âThank you,â you whispered. âBye.â
You attempted to close the door on him, but his put his elbow against the frame, stopping it in motion. âWhoa,â he exclaimed, pushing his way into the room. âWhat the hell is your problem?â He closed the door behind him.
âMy problem is that Iâm very tired, and still need to change, and greet everyone waiting for me. So, I donât have time for this.â
âTime for what?â He crossed his arms over his chest.Â
You ducked your head down, âNothing. Nothing. You need to leave.â
âHey, hey, hey, ballerina barbie,â he mocked. âWhatâs your deal?â
âI donât have a deal! I have nothing to say to you Matthew. Same way you have nothing to say to me.â You scrunched up your face in a frown.
âI...â he paused, laughing under his breath. âI never said I didnât have something to tell you. In fact, Iâve been meaning to tell you something.âÂ
You looked up at him â the gel in his hair, his black button down shirt flowing over his belt buckle, his dark eyes, his lips and the way they were pouting just a little. And like a magnet, you found yourself being pulled towards him. You jumped into his arms, hands on his face, and connecting your lips, mouths open, tongues touching.Â
Matthew held you up, moaning against your lips. âMm,â you hummed. âWait, what if someone comes in?âÂ
Matthew thought quickly, hiking you up in his arms and shoving your back against the door. âWell, now they canât get in, can they?â He mumbled, leaving kisses along your neck.
Your jaw dropped and you started to undo his belt, freeing his cock from his pants. He grunted against your skin as you stroked him, your head leaned back against the door, your chest heaving. You used your other hand to pull your leotard to the side, revealing your throbbing core.Â
Matthew smirked, letting you guide his dick to your entrance, and pushed his way into you swiftly. You instinctively wrapped your arms around his shoulders, burying your face in his neck to keep yourself quiet. His thrusts were quick, rough, messy. He was much more vocal this time, making no effort to stay silent.
âFuck,â he moaned in your ear. âF-fuck, I forgot how good your pussy is. Fuck.â
The feeling was mutual. For the past month, youâd be wondering what the hell about Matthew had you so stuck. So fixated on him. And this was it. He filled you up perfectly, could manhandle you however he wanted, and always, always made sure you came.Â
He fucked you harder when he noticed your orgasm nearing â your quickened breaths, frequent moans and whines, and your legs tightening against his torso. âOh, my God,â you whimpered.Â
âShit, are you gonna come?â He asked. âGood.â
Breathless, speechless, you stared into his eyes helplessly as your body began to crumble. All power left your body and you held onto his shirt for dear life. He gave you a small smile, and flipped his hair out of his face, looking down at his cock. He could pinpoint the exact stroke that did it. The one that sent you into a state of euphoria, sent your eyes rolling back, your body into intense shock.Â
You let out a long and weakened sigh as the wave washed over you, and Matthew continued to plow into you like nothing was happening.Â
âItâs so cool how your pussy tightens up when you come,â he chuckled. âItâs hot.âÂ
You rolled your eyes at the sound of his voice, clawing at the back of his neck. His breathing became ragged and hoarse, and he had to pull out of you before he came. He jerked himself off until he exploded onto your clothing. And with you being dressed in all black, his stains stood out perfectly on your costume.Â
This time, he gave you a kiss on the cheek before he left.
The week after that was finals week. And neither of you could be bothered to reach out. Despite the not-so-subtle confession of bitterness and the very intense orgasms you shared, you and Matthew simply went back to not talking. Your friends thought it was strange, even commented that they missed the bickering. The two of you shrugged in response.Â
Most of your dorm room was in boxes by the time you finished your last final exam. Claire was slower to pack up than you were, considering she only lived an hour away, but she applauded you for your determination. The day Claire did start packing was the day before you left for the summer. The two of you spent the day getting everything cleared out, cleaned, squared away.
While the two of you sat on your bed, watching Netflix, a knock sounded from your door. Claire hopped up and headed towards the entrance, opening it with a grand smile. âGube!â She shouted, instantly opening her arms for a hug. Matthew wrapped his arms around her waist and picked her up, carrying her into the room with a smile.
âAre you about to leave?â She asked him, holding onto his arms as he placed her feet back on the ground.Â
âYeah, my momâs here. So, I wanted to stop by and say goodbye,â he nodded.Â
âAw, Gube, you softie,â she giggled. â[y/n], come say bye.â
âI can say bye from right here, Claire,â you replied. She gave you a look, and you felt compelled to get off the bed. So you did, you approached them, âBye, Matthew.âÂ
âBye, shortcake,â he laughed. âBye, Claire.â He pulled your roommate into another hug, while you stood there, crossing your arms in annoyance.Â
Matthew peeked at you over Claireâs shoulder. One hand rubbed her back and the other reached out to you, holding a small note.
Your eyes went wide as you looked at him, then the note, then Claire. You ripped the paper from his hand, and stuffed it into your pocket right away. He smirked at you, and turned his attention back to Claire.Â
âHey,â he said to her. âCome back to my place, I want everyone there to show my mom I actually have friends.âÂ
Claire chuckled and nodded, âOkay,â she shrugged. âLetâs go. [y/n], you coming?â
âUh, no,â you shook your head. âIâm gonna keep packing, but Iâll text you later.â
âOkay,â Claire smiled, and she let Matthew whisk her away.Â
You sighed, and as soon as the door closed, you pulled the crumpled piece of paper from your pocket. You opened it up to reveal â not a meaningful message, not even a few words. Just one string of numbers, writing in his handwriting:
505.Â

Last Monday of the Week 2021-07-26
I had to go outside once this week. On the plus side, I'll be able to sign up for vaccinations in a little over a month.
Listening: Ending several of my days this week with Podcast Hours, which was nice, specifically I didn't realize that there were new Anthropocene Reviewed episodes out. John Green does a good show. I introduced my mother to the show and now I hear John Green's voice coming from the other half of the house and that's weird, but it is nice to hear old episodes. I'll recommend an older episode, "Auld Lang Syne"
Oh yeah the podcast app I use got bought by Automaticc so this weird company is slowly buying up everything I use. I should really use AntennaPod since it's open source but I paid for this app before it went Freemium and until it stops doing things I want it to do I'll probably stick with it.
Reading: Mostly studying for a research writing theory test but I've also been browsing some FreeRTOS docs in preparation for a future Making project. In honesty this project doesn't need an RTOS but if I wait until I need an RTOS I'll be waiting forever, no one hires novice RTOS programmers. Plus I would like tools in my arsenal between "Arduino handles everything for me" and "Writing in C directly flipping bits to configure peripherals" because that's all I got right now. I should also learn the STM32 HAL but. another time.
Watching: I am. so bad at video. It's a high-time-investment-low-reward form of entertainment so I often pass it over for reading webcomics or wallowing in apathy. I write these on Sunday night so maybe in between writing this and going to bed I'll watch another Eizouken! episode but don't count on it. [EDIT: got a couple episodes in. This is such a delightful show.]
Playing: Ran a session of a Pathfinder game with my high school friends on Sunday! Good game! Mostly combat focussed but we've cleared the first story arc which is more than I can say for some games I've run in the past. With luck I can actually bring this one to a conclusion.
Making: There's a local Bird Photography competition that closes tomorrow so I spent some time finding some good photos and submitting them. I've already posted some here and there's more to come (plus a few good not-birds I saw on the way), but here's a preview of one. just for Monday readers.
Computers Slot: This week's software pitch is for ImageMagick, specifically the Image To PDF tool. I used it in my past two class tests because they had to be written by hand, scanned, and sent in as PDF's, and I didn't want to haul out my flatbed scanner from storage just for this. I just used the Scanner App on my phone to snap some distortion-corrected jpegs and shuttled them to my PC, where a handy `convert *.jpg test.pdf` gave me a pretty nice PDF file. I think I learned this trick from @thosearentcrimes, because they needed an offline Image To PDF converter for confidential documents.
ImageMagick can do a massive array of file format conversions and transforms including converting a sequence of images to a GIF, really an indispensable tool.

âShould I use InDesign to lay out my books?â - A Passionate Guide
Ok, if you are like me, you recently stumbled upon @armoredsuperheavyââs brilliant blog about bookbinding and fanfiction, and now you are excited to throw yourself head-first into bookbinding.
This also means that you are about to invest a fair amount of time into figuring out how exactly to lay out books. What you end up getting comfortable with will most likely be what you end up using long term, so it is worthwhile giving it some thought. The question really comes down to this: who's name will you be cursing for the foreseeable future? Adobe? Or Microsoft?
Full disclosure: I only started using InDesign because I was forced to. I worked as an editor at a newspaper, and that was what we used. The beginning was hell. I wonât sugar coat it, it sucks. In the end it was worth it. Once you figure it out, InDesignâs potential far outstrips Microsoft Word (in my opinion).
That encouragement means very little when you open this treacherous program for the first time and see THIS:
âWhat?! I will literally give you $100 if you guess what all the buttons on the left are for. How the fuck do I make the margins disappear!?â
So, if using InDesign means figuring out what at least one third of the tools on the left are for, lets talk pros and cons.
Letâs get the cons out of the way.
It is expensive. Adobe is not fucking around. This puppy costs 20 bucks a month (Canadian) to RENT. If this is out of your price range, do you still have options? Yes. Do they range in legality? Also yes. I think I could potentially get in trouble for telling you to find your friendly neighborhood torrenting site and steal this software. I will say, outright, that no one should steal software ever. Got it? I would be very upset if someone were to message me for specifics. As you naturally wish to be law-abiding, there is also the quasi-legal option of repeating the 14-day free trial. My friend works at a professional print studio in Russia, and this is the tactic they use: every 14 days they uninstall all of the software from all of the computers, and reinstall it with a new trial. Every 14 days! At a professional operation! My friend hates working there.
It is not initially intuitive. Iâve covered this, but it bears repeating because it is a serious hurdle. Keep in mind, that with time, InDesign becomes more helpful than other software. Now when I use Word I find myself reaching for keyboard shortcuts automatically, and feeling bereft at the lack of my favorite tools. Nonetheless, expect a time commitment up front learning how to harness this glorious and confusing computer program.
It can run kinda slowly, depending on your computer. Up until two months ago, I had the worldâs most precarious laptop. I bought it for $200 in 2015. It once took half an hour to restart. Inexplicably, when it got stressed, it would switch to Spanish. It was literally and figuratively falling apart. And yet, it ran InDesign. Granted, it worked slowly. If I asked it to process too many images at once it would panic (again with the Spanish), but for the most part, it worked. If you have a slow computer and are patient, then InDesign will probably work fine on your computer. If you are not willing to suffer, stick to Word.
You will also need Photoshop (sometimes). Part of what makes InDesign glorious is that it is professional software that is designed specifically to work with print and anything text-heavy. I love that about it. It even manages to do some handy things with images! But, inevitably, you will need to learn some Photoshop to punch up your graphics. I have, admittedly, only learned the bare minimum Photoshop in order to feed my InDesign addiction. It was a pain in the butt. For example, inexplicably, Adobe has not standardized keyboard shortcuts across the suite. As with InDesign, now that Iâve learned the tricks, I adore it. But you should go into this knowing that with Adobe, the fun never ends.
Printing signatures is the WORST. Adobe, please explain to me, in front of God and everyone, why the hell you would make this software specifically for laying out books etc. and not include a method of printing signatures?! Iâm livid. This is absolutely where Word wins the day. It is almost worth using Word just to print the signatures so nicely and easily. Iâm not kidding. Meâa person who has used InDesign professionallyâalmost wanted to switch software entirely just because of this. Hands down, InDesignâs biggest goof. Despite this crime against bookbinders everywhere, you have options. You can export your design to a PDF and literally print each signature separately (I am fucking livid) or you can complain enough to your friends that they offer to buy you a lovely program called BookletCreator for your birthday. It costs $20 bucks USD and it was worth every penny. However, Adobe, FOR THE AMOUNT THAT YOU CHARGE FOR YOUR PROGRAM, I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PURCHASE ANY ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE IN ORDER TO PRINT MY BOOK. Did I mention that I am livid?!
But InDesign must be worth something, right?! Otherwise why would I be writing a long post encouraging people to use it? Letâs talk pros:
The horsepower on this baby will blow your mind. Forget what I just said about printing signatures; imagine using software that was literally made for this. You wanna do a thing? InDesign has got you. Are you a perfectionist? This software was designed by people as pedantic and obsessive as yourself. It gets you. Dream it, google how to do it, and InDesign will deliver. This is really the main reason to use InDesign; it is the professional standard for a reason.
There are so SO many resources available to help you learn. Almost everything Iâve learned about InDesign I learned from Google or YouTube. Honestly, if you have a question, I promise that other people have already asked and answered it. The advantage is that because this software is specifically for laying out books, there is lots of information available specifically about how to do what you want to do. (This may also be true for Word, but Iâll be honest, I only used Word for a book layout once, so I canât say for certain either way.)
Once you figure it out, InDesign will give you back hours of your life. Things like master page spreads, clipping paths, tint, the eyedropper tool, and the one-hundred-percent adjustable text are just... lifesavers. My experience with Word is limited, so my frustration using it was probably due to my own ineptitude, but honestly, when putting together my thesis, the tears I cried trying to get page numbers to format correctly were some of the most bitter text-related tears I have ever shed. I can take care of the whole operation in InDesign in a matter of minutes. Hours. Of. My. Life. Saved.
This is an actual marketable skill. Ok, bear with me here. I have used InDesign for every single job I have had since I worked at the newspaper. That includes working as a bookkeeper and a kindergarten teacher. Hell, I even made my resume to get those jobs in InDesign. There is no job that I forsee in my future that doesnât include some form of text-based design. Even when my work has absolutely nothing to do with layout (see: kindergarten teacher) I still found some way to use it. My previous boss was actually so thrilled about my InDesign skills that she had me run a 101 seminar for the other employees. (Did any of them end up using it? I suspect not. Did they look at me strangely for being so enthusiastic about design software? Absolutely.) Iâve even managed to use InDesign to branch out from freelance editing to take on design projects as well. In short: if you learn how to use InDesign, put in on your resume. You will be surprised at how much mileage you get out of it.
With Adobe, the fun never ends. I know I joked about it before, but really, I love seeing what this program has in store for me next. For example, thanks to bookbinding, I discovered that InDesign will do a lot of things that I had previously assumed were the domain of Word, such as spell check. I literally stumbled onto a measuring tool today that I wish existed irl to help me glue my covers together. Part of the beauty of this software being so intricate is that there is always something new you can do. I love learning how to harness a new feature, and then watch my design improve over time. Using this program you really get the feeling that the sky is the limit. Look, just the fact that Iâve now resorted to saccharine platitudes about computer software tells you that InDesign is remarkable. Considering that this program has made me suffer so significantly, I have either seen the face of God, or I have Stockholm syndrome. Take your pick.
TL;DR, at long last:
How complicated would you like to go? Either way, for bookbinding youâve got to learn to use software in a new way.
Do you just want to get your book laid out reliably with little fuss? Word is for you! Are you interested in delving into the details? Do you have the patience of a saint? Try InDesign!
Both work. Both are good. But you can pry InDesign from my cold dead hands because I adore it.
#Honestly#No shame towards Word or anyone that uses it seriously#Like I said I have little experience actually using it for laying out books#But InDesign is very good.#Bookbinding#fic#fic binding#If people want I can start putting together tutorials about how to do all of this stuff#And all of y'all can learn from my mistakes and hopefully learn faster than I did.#ĐĐœŃ Đ”ŃŃŃ ŃŃĐŸ ĐœĐžĐ±ŃĐŽŃ Đ·ĐŽĐ”ŃŃ ĐżŃĐŸ ŃДбŃ#Đ·Đ°ĐŒĐ”ŃĐžŃŃ?#InDesign

Why r u so good at simsđđ± wcif you're talent đłâ€ïž
As much as I'd love to say it's pure raw talent and just take the compliment, the truth is that I don't FEEL talented. I think there are a lot of people who are super talented on this site, for whom all these things come naturally, and the rest of us just have to keep working at it.
This is one of the first sims I ever posted on Simblr. I was originally just going to go builds, but then I realized I'm not a very good builder either lmao. It's so easy on a platform like this to look at what everyone is doing and feel bad about what you do and the end results. I remember being so proud of this until I posted it and then looking at what everyone else was doing and feeling totally embarrassed.
And this is far from my first sim.
THIS is one of my earliest recorded sims lmao. I used to play on another computer when I was still a teenager and all those sims are dead and gone, but this is one of the oldest sims pictures I can find.
It's super easy to see where you are and wish you could be better, look at what everyone else is doing and accomplishing and get envious of their skill and talent. But I also know that they've spent a long time working and getting better, improving, learning new software, new tools, new tricks. I think every time I open cas I improve because I try new things, I see what other people are doing and instead of being sad that I'm not as good, I try to take inspiration from them. If every time I open the game I can try one thing to improve, then I'm happy.
And I think it's important to keep that in perspective when you're building any skill. It's not about what other people are doing. I say this when I coach roller derby too that I used to be awful, I used to look at everyone else and wish I could do what they can do. I worked hard as hell, I skated eight hours a week, I practiced in my house, every chance I got. Now people look at me and say what I used to say to others.
If you just keep doing what you do, you're bound to improve. Don't be afraid to make mistakes or post bad edits! I'm definitely not an expert on mastery, but I am pretty good at practicing things, and all I can tell you for certain is that it works.
And that I believe in you!

Buying Lightroom used to be simple. All you had to do was buy the full version of the program, and upgrade (if you wished) every time a new version came out. But ever since Adobe announced the Creative Cloud subscription service, photographers have been faced with two choices. You can still go for the standalone version, or you can buy Lightroom as part of a Creative Cloud monthly membership. But how do you know which is the best option for you? Read on to find out.

Creative Cloud is announced
Adobeâs initial announcement of the Creative Cloud licensing concept was somewhat controversial as the price for a subscription to Photoshop ran at $20 a month (all prices in this article are in US dollars). For photographers who had already purchased the full version of Photoshop this represented a significant price increase. Not only was subscribing more expensive in the long run, compared to upgrading Photoshop regularly, but the license to use the software expired once monthly payments stopped.
Thereâs little doubt this was a raw deal, but Adobe listened and introduced a new package for photographers â a subscription to both Lightroom and Photoshop CC for $9.99 a month (or $119.88 per year).
Read about this on forums and photography websites and you will still come across a lot of negativity towards the Creative Cloud subscription model, especially from Photoshop users upset at the loss of a perpetual licence. But today, I aim to cut through this negativity and take an objective look at the differences between the two options.
Two types of Lightroom users
To start, we have to acknowledge that there are two types of Lightroom users.
The first uses Lightroom in conjunction with Photoshop and wants access to both programs. For this user, the Creative Cloud option is the only choice if you want the latest version of Photoshop CC. Alternatively, if you own a version of Photoshop CS and are not bothered about upgrading to Photoshop CC, you can buy the standalone version of Lightroom and use them together.
The second type of user carries out the bulk of their image processing in Lightroom. For tasks Lightroom canât handle, they may use an older version of Photoshop, a less powerful program like Photoshop Elements, or a plug-in such as the Nik Collection or Perfect Photo Suite 9. These users may be wondering whether to continue using the standalone version of the software or to subscribe.
Financial considerations
If you are on a budget, and donât need Photoshop CC, then it is definitely less expensive to buy the standalone version of Lightroom. At the moment a new version of Lightroom comes out approximately every 18 months. At $9.99 a month, the subscription service would cost you $179.82 over that period. If you are new to Lightroom, the full version (priced at $149 from the Adobe website) saves you money, and if you already own Lightroom, then the upgrade (priced at $79) is even less, saving you a little over $100 over the same time period.
As a standalone version user you get free upgrades until a full new version comes out. So, if you upgraded to Lightroom 5.0 when it first came out, you can upgrade to the latest version (5.7) for free, taking advantage of new features introduced since then. But when Lightroom 6 comes out, you will need to pay the upgrade fee to use it. Upgrading isnât compulsory, and you can continue to use your earlier version of Lightroom as long as you want.
Adobe have stressed their commitment to continuing the standalone version of Lightroom for the foreseeable future.
Note:The standalone version of Lightroom is a little hard to find on Adobeâs website. You can get there by going to Adobeâs home page and clicking the Menu option at the top. Click the All Products button at the bottom, scroll down to Lightroom and click Buy. Or you can also find it here on Amazon.
What the Creative Cloud subscription gives you
The Creative Cloud subscription is more expensive, so what do you get for that extra money? The two headline features are Photoshop CC, a powerful image editing program that you are likely familiar with, plus access to Lightroom Mobile, a mobile version of Lightroom that works with iPads and iPhones (but not currently with devices using the Android or Windows operating systems).
There are several additional features that may interest some people, such as 2GB of online storage space, access to Lightroom Web and the ability to use Photoshop CC and Lightroom on multiple machines (although not at the same time).
What happens when the Creative Cloud license ends?
If you stop paying your subscription fee you no longer have the right to use the full versions of Photoshop CC and Lightroom. Photoshop will stop working completely (or at least until you renew the subscription).
But Lightroom is different. Bear in mind that with Lightroom your Raw files are untouched. The edits you make are stored in the Catalog. If you lose access to the Catalog, you lose access to all the edits you have made to your images, including all post-processing.

Adobe doesnât want that to happen, so it gives you partial access to Lightroom even if you cancel your Creative Cloud subscription. You have full access to the Library, Book, Print, Slideshow and Web modules. The Develop module is severely restricted (you canât make any adjustments using the right-hand panels) and there is no access to the Map module.
Your Catalog remains intact, including any Collections youâre created and any changes to metadata, including ratings and keywords. So does your post-processing, and the ability to make basic edits to photo files using the Quick Develop panel. You can also export your photos any time you want.
You need to have Lightroom Version 5.5 or later installed for this to work.

Conclusion
Hopefully you are now clearer about how the two ways of buying Lightroom differ, and which is best for you. If you want to use the most up to date version of Photoshop CC, or Lightroom Mobile, then the Creative Cloud subscription service is the choice for you.
However, if you donât require the latest version of Photoshop CC, or Lightroom Mobile, then buying the standalone version is the least expensive way to go.
What do you think? Have Adobe got it right with the price and services offered for the Creative Cloud Photography plan? Do you use the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom or the standalone version? Please let us know in the comments.
