I don’t really give a shit about James Somerton, but apparently he claimed that he Did A Plagiarism because of a head injury he had as a kid + ADHD, so he would just copy and paste paragraphs and then forget to rewrite them.

And as someone who was ALSO hospitalized for a head injury as a child, and ALSO has ADHD (with one of my primary symptoms being memory loss), I feel uniquely qualified to fight him on this because I have never done a plagiarism.

So me and my bestie began our annual rewatch of MCD and after several hours of discussion (and throwing pillows at each other) we concluded my previous redesign for Zenix didn't match what we thought his character was anymore so after an hour or two of sketching we concluded with this:

Fanart for @pinkestmenace's Broken Hato, Chapter 5. I've already done fanart for their fics before (kind of), but they weren't anything serious. They are one of my favorite authors though, so I eventually wanted to do something for real. And I got my chance! This scene was too fun not to draw.

I thought it'd be fun to imitate their coloring style too, I hope you don't mind.

Mentioning embroidery somehow* triggered the memory of the High Rollers oneshot the VAs did where Neil Newborn decided to put Orcish down on his character sheet as one of Astarion's known languages. I strongly suspect that's his own headcanon rather than game canon, but I certainly adopted it.

Astarion 'I should've been a drow' Ancunín** deciding to learn his peoples' other least favourite culture's language sounds about right. It sounds like a good idea for a pique of teenage cultural rebeliion, but I can easily imagine him doing it as an adult too.

The family goes back to Evereska to visit for Cinnaelos'Cor and it's like 'please don't speak Orcish in front of your grandparents' and then he does it just to be a little shit, and 'See?? See??? What did we tell you! This is what happens when you raise your children in human cities!!'

* I suspect sleep deprivation.

love a character dynamic when the bad guys corner the protagonist in an abandoned warehouse and is like "give it up! we took care of your friend on the way over so you have no reinforcements!" and the protagonist is like "wait what did you say. did you kill him" and the bad guys are like "yeah you heard us right! we took care of him! no one's coming to help you!" and the protagonist grabs them by the lapels like "no but did you KILL him" and the bad guys are like "uhhh the point is you are alone with no reinforcements???" and the protagonist just pushes them away in disgust like "you fools. if you don't kill him dead for realsies then he'll just keep getting stronger and stronger and soon it'll be impossible to stop him it all! you absolute idiots" and then said friend crashes through the roof with a blaze of light and a perfect three point landing and the protagonist just facepalms and shakes his head like "god. now it'll be even HARDER to get rid of him" while the friend mops the warehouse floor with the bad guys
