i’ve been working professionally in the arts for nearly a decade now (horrifying. the passing of time and all of its sickening crimes etc. etc.) and have seen that you quite literally will not make it if you do not learn how to Act Normal™️ around celebrities; all this to caveat that there are very few feelings of gratitude like that of getting to express to someone whose art has impacted you just how much it and/or they have meant to you; giving people their flowers is a mutually beneficial experience when done without performance and unselfishly
#i can name plenty of celebrities i’ve worked with/run into/have mutual friends with/whatever (neither a flex nor the point of this) but i#can count on my hands the number of people whom i’ve gotten to really express my gratitude for their art and work to and it’s something that#i never take for granted; i remember so distinctly thinking about writing to peter tork not in expectation of a reply or an autograph or#anything just to write him and then the next week he died and that has stuck with me#like i’m very grateful to have a signed clockwork poster but i’m much more grateful that i got to tell M.M. how much the raging moon meant#to me as a disabled person (is that a perfect film? far from it; is it a film that sticks in my brain as meaningful depictions of disabled#people who are treated with humanity? yes absolutely)

Ahhhhhh so next month I'm actually going to a con where like 4 of the BG3 VAs will be attending too, so I've been trying to get screenshots to pick ones I'll have signed and this is so difficult 😭
The title screen poster would be PERFECT if only Karlach was on it 😭😭😭 But she's not, so here I am debating on which of these I want signed and framed on my wall
This one is perf for Lae'zel
Cannot decide which is better for Wyll and Karlach cause I like her lighting the cigars but Wyll doesn't smile til the next shot
Shadowheart I'm leaning towards the one that's just her (or maybe taking a screenshot of her petting Scratch)
And Astarion... as you can see is a nightmare choice for me because I have so many good shots that are wholesome and I don't wanna buy the thirst trap-y or emotional ones that are online lol (and probably what'll be there in person too)
I took those above shots as potentials, but I'm leaning towards one of these next High Hall ones maybe? So there's space to write
These two from the graveyard scene and epilogue hug are good options too tho

ok sitting down for a moment at disneyland. elaborating on the post-beat concert shenanigans in the tags
#for those of you invested in my silly misadventures#ok so .#there was the meet n greet earlier which as i said was short but very nice and i was squimshed against ade for the photo#AFTER THE SHOW . go around the concert venue to the area by the stage door#but unlike the beacon theatre we were a long ways away from the stage door it was the huge parking lot and we were fenced off#and based off of the spars concert from last year at the beacon where the guys just left after we waited for almost an hour#i didnt really expect the beat guys would come over or anything but i was willing to wait a while#and wait a while we did and then danny carey came out and eventually came over to us and was really sweet and signed stuff#he wasnt taking any photos but was very nice just like the epitome of fun drummer guy#waited a while more. doubting still that the other guys would come over#next was adrian! and being the absolute sweetie he is he did come over and everything abt him is true#hes just the most wondrous sweet guy ever. he was also radiating comforting dad energy bc that annoying prog fan was there again#and ade was kind of like nicely protective where i was w my friend#ade also liked my inner revolution shirt and remembered me from the meet n greet :)#waited a while more and then eventually steve vai came out and well im sorry what can i say . i was 😵💫#it didnt help that when he signed my poster (as the other guys had before him) that like. his hand was resting on my hand god anyway#im sorry. old men musicians are my number one weakness as anyone whos been following me knows#oh i had gotten a blurry photo w ade and then got a flash photo w steve. its horrifying <3#we waited like an hour more for tony who was on a long ass phone call#but very nicely he came over too and somehow the photo w him turned out nicest. hes such a sweet polite guy#he also sounds like ron mael kinda lol#and thats my adventure!#and now ive spent an obscene amount to see em again. god
