while being an adult sucks in many ways, I have to say that the sheer joy I feel when I get a new kitchen appliance after living with a shitty broken one for a while is almost unmatched

Your eyes are already open when your alarm goes off.
You didn’t sleep at all. There was no point, even after you finished crying your head hurt too much to sleep, even with some painkillers. You laid there, wide awake all night thinking about Gojo. Did he think of you, too? You turn the alarm off and slide out of bed, your slipper-covered feet shuffling as you make your way around your apartment.
You brush your teeth and look in the mirror. Your eyes are puffy and swollen, mascara smeared down your cheeks. You pop some spoons in the freezer to cool as you clean yourself up and get dressed. Your phone sits untouched on the bedside table, still plugged in.
You sit on the side of your bed, pressing the now cold spoons against your swollen eyes. You take deep breaths, trying to relax. You had every right to be upset, after all. Gojo has no reason to string you along, whispering sweet nothings in your ear at night about how you’re his girl, his doll, his everything. But that’s exactly what that was. Nothing. Maybe, you think, this is some kind of karma. Some sort of punishment for your arrogance, for thinking you could have what everyone else wants, Gojo, and here—at last—it was.
You put on some de-puffing undereye patches that you keep in the fridge and clean your entire apartment spotless to distract yourself, music blasting from the phone in your back pocket. You finally throw out that dead fern you got as a gift from the school board when you first started, and you finally clean out your fridge of the now moldy condiments you tried once on a whim. You’re washing dishes when the front door opens and, suddenly, Gojo steps inside. He had opted for his dark blue circular sunglasses today, an odd choice for the winter but you didn’t mind it. “Hi,” you say, surprised, pulling off the bright marigold gloves and setting them on the side of the sink to dry. For a second, you think about the absolute state of your eyes. The swelling and puffiness had gone down, and even though he had never seen you cry, you think about the fact that even if he noticed your eyes he wouldn’t care enough to ask questions.
“Hey,” is all Gojo says in response. You wait to see if he says anything else, or if he is going to try to explain himself, but he doesn’t, and eventually moves across your apartment to head to the bathroom. You hesitate before you make your way after him, passing his duffel bag on the floor of your closet, which was unzipped and filled with enough clothes that it was clear that he was going to stay for a while.
You feel pathetic admitting it to yourself but having Gojo there — not just in your apartment, but in your room — feels nice. He doesn’t speak to you yet, but his very presence steadies and refocuses you. As grateful as you are that he came back to you, you are also a little disappointed in yourself, by how dependent you are, how weak. Who were you without him?
Eventually, he faces you, peering at you over the top of his glasses. “Hey, pretty girl.”
You swallow hard, willing yourself to be strong, to finally confront him about all of the false promises and the date with Himiko, but you can’t. Not yet. “Hi, Gojo.”
He smiles, reaching you with just one step and collecting you in his arms, wrapping them tightly around your hips. He leans down and kisses you, for the first time in almost nine days, and you feel yourself giving up, giving all power to him.
After a few seconds, he pulls away, smirking. “I missed you. I’m sorry that I didn’t come home last night…I got carried away.”
You’ve noticed over the past eleven months (yes, you kept track) of your situationship that he uses that term a lot; carried away. He uses it when he gets a little too handsy during the free periods at work and when he stares at you a bit too long during staff meetings. He uses it when he forgets to call or text you and when it seems like you’re the last thing on his mind. Maybe you are.
You smile, shrugging. “Don’t worry about it, baby. I’m just glad you’re here now.”
He grins, gently running his hands up your back, lightly scratching his nails against you, making you shiver. “Of course. I always come back home to you.” He bends at the knees and picks you up, carrying you the short distance to your bed before laying you down and climbing on top of you. Excitement fills your body as he leans down and starts placing soft kisses along your neck. You arch into him, whining and tugging on his sleeves, and he chuckles. “Relax, doll. Quit acting so desperate. You’re not in charge here, remember?”
You feel drool pool in your mouth and you quickly swallow it. “I’m sorry, Gojo, it’s just that —”
He interrupts you, sliding his thumb into your mouth to shut you up. “I know, baby, I know. You went eight whole days without my touch and now you’re acting like a desperate little slut,” You nod, hoping he won’t tease you this time. He smirks at the dumb look on your face before saying, “Open.” You do, opening your mouth wide and sticking your tongue out a little. He pulls his thumb away and draws back briefly before spitting into your open mouth. You swallow it without his command. You know what he likes.
He grins, kissing your lips once more before kissing down your chin and neck, slowly sliding off your t-shirt. You whine and squirm under him, and after he pulls your shirt off he clamps his hand over your mouth. “Shut up. If you keep whining, I won’t fuck you at all. Is that what you want?” You shake your head vigorously, that’s the last thing you want. He removes his hand before continuing, “Good. Don’t speak unless I tell you to,” You nod, relaxing into your sheets as he kisses down your chest. He pushes your bra up over your tits, groaning as he squeezes them in his hands. “Fuck. I missed my girls.” You would normally scold him for objectifying you, but at this moment you didn’t care. You wanted his hands on you, and you wanted his dick inside of you as soon as possible.
He takes the sunglasses off and brings one of your nipples to his mouth, lightly brushing his lips against it to tease you. He sticks his tongue out and drags it along your nipple in circles, loving the way your thighs fall open and the little sounds you make. He finally, finally sucks your nipple into his mouth, pinching the other one hard just to feel you squirm. He rolls your bare nipple between his fingers while he lightly nibbles on the one in his mouth. Your head is spinning, and all you can do is tug on his hair as he teases you. He lets go of your nipple with a wet pop, a string of saliva connecting it to his lips. He picks it up on his finger and rubs it on your face just to humiliate you.
He kisses down your torso, tugging down your pyjama bottoms and tossing them onto the floor. He kisses your thighs as he pushes them up and against your chest so you’re nice and spread out for him, just as he likes. He notices the wet spot on your plain blue cotton underwear and smirks, rubbing at it with his thumb. “Someone’s eager, aren’t they?”
You take it you can respond to him now. “Fuck, Gojo, please! Please stop teasing me, I already went eight days without you.” The whine in your voice makes him feel so big, so powerful. He barely touches you and you’re already crumbling at his feet. Maybe he should keep you there.
He makes that condescending tsk tsk tsk sound that normally annoys you, but now you can’t help it and you whine and squirm even more. “You’re so desperate, baby. You can’t even handle a little teasing?” He presses his thumb right against your clit, the wet spot spreads even more. “I guess you do have a point, though. I haven’t made you cum since we left for Nikko.” He kisses right above the hem of your underwear before pulling it down, the blue fabric now dangling around your ankle. He moans, pushing your legs back even further and spreading your cunt.
He spits directly onto your pink little hole, watching as it mixes with your juices. In this moment, you’re his. You’re his everything, his girl, his doll. In this moment you actually mean something to him, when you’re spread out and begging for his attention. He runs his pointer finger down your slit, collecting some spit before dragging it back up to your clit and lightly circling it.
You almost cum on the spot. Days of pent-up horniness and teasing and you’re as sensitive as ever. You bite your lip, looking over at him with nothing but love and affection in your gaze. “Please, Gojo. Please don’t tease me. I don’t know if I can handle it.”
He gets comfortable, moving your thighs over his shoulders as he lays down on the bed. “You’ll take what I give you. Don’t disappoint me.” He circles your clit with his finger one last time before leaning down and sucking it into his mouth. You arch your back, your hands finding solace in his hair as you writhe and moan. He moans at your taste, gripping your hips hard as he gets lost in your cute little cunt. You grind against his face, and he lets you, loving the feeling of your clit against his tongue. He teases your hole with his fingers, sliding his thumb in as he swirls his tongue around your clit in circles. You clench up tight, mumbling praises along with I’m gonna cum! Please let me cum! before he pulls away completely. He laughs at the noise you make, and at the way your face contorts and tears well in your eyes. He slaps the inside of your thigh before standing up and unbuttoning his pants. “Oh, come on. Be a good girl for me, okay?”
You move up on the bed, your back supported by your pillows as he climbs over you. You’ve seen his dick a lot, more times than you can count, but the sheer size of it always surprises you. Thick and long, slightly curved to the left, with a pretty pink tip to match. His balls are big, too, full of cum and practically begging to be in your mouth, which waters as soon as you see it.
Gojo looms over you, pushing you onto the bed as he slides in between your legs and gets comfortable. He rubs his tip against you, getting it nice and wet so you don’t struggle with the size as he fucks you, at least not too much. In a moment of pure intimacy, he reaches his hand up and rubs his thumb against your cheek, looking at you with an almost adoring gaze. You go to say something to him but all words escape your throat as he pushes his cock into you. You both moan in unison as he slides in and out slowly.
“God,” he groans, leaning down on his elbows and getting right in your face. “I missed you so much, baby. I know I’m such a dick to you, I just can’t help it, you look so cute when you’re angry…fuck, you feel so good.” He isn’t vocal in bed very often, and your heart swells as you get to watch him come undone and make such pretty noises as he does.
In the heat of the moment, you forgive him. You know you’ll probably regret it, but you can’t stay mad at him when he’s looking at you like you’re the only woman in the world for him. Your smile is cut short by your moan as you manage to say, “It’s okay, Gojo. Please just stay here. Stay here with me.”
Gojo nods, propping himself up on one flat palm as his hips pick up speed. Normally he loves foreplay, he can tease you and edge you for hours, but the time spent without you in his arms and without you wrapped around his cock was too much to bare for him. He knows he fucked up, but he can’t take it back. He’s Satoru Gojo, and he has a reputation he needs to uphold. He’s all run, and you’re all fight, and that’s part of the reason why he feels so drawn to you.
He looks at you, moving to his elbows and reaching up to grab your face and pull you into a kiss. He pulls away and presses his forehead against yours, biting his lip as his hips move even faster. He drops back down to his elbows, your chests pressed together as he shakily moans, “Fuck, fuck, fuck, doll, I’m gonna cum.”
You nod, pulling at the hair at the nape of his neck as you cum around him, clenching down on his cock. He buries his face in your neck as he cums after you, cumming inside of you, like he always does. His breathing is ragged as he lays there, his cock twitching inside of you as his cum spills inside. Gojo eventually moves away from your neck, some of his hair matted to his forehead, slick with sweat. You push the hair back and smile at him, kissing his forehead gently. Even if he didn’t love you, you still loved him. And you think you always will.
He pulls out, immediately getting you a towel splashed with some warm water as he cleans you up. He’s gentle with his aftercare, making sure you’re comfortable, and collecting your water bottle from the living room. You pee before getting dressed, laying with him on the bed. He wraps his arms around you and pulls you close, pressing your face into his chest, and sliding his hand into your hair. He holds you there for a while, your breathing in sync before he leans down and kisses your forehead.
Gojo puts on a cooking show to watch on your TV, setting the remote aside as he holds you close. He strokes your hair, and your mind starts to drift, and you wonder if he cares about you in the same way you care about him. Are you not good enough for him? Is there something wrong with you? Are you not what he wants? Are you not what he needs? You wake up every morning, hopeful for what’s to come with him, but you spend most of your time thinking about what you’ve already had and what he’s already said to you. You’re missing all these memories—maybe they were never even yours.
Nothing hurts like he does.

Chapter 11 | Masterlist
For the first week I was lost. The only reason I really got up was to feed Calypso which is what I named my new fish or to eat. I was still upset with Jake, or myself.I didn’t quite know. Part of me wants to ask him, but I couldn’t get a hold of him even if I wanted to. The other part of me is screaming that it’s not my fault he’s mad at me. He couldn’t be mad that I went to Phoenix’s. I left because of him and Kelly and I didn’t force him to lay on the couch and wait for me. But every day while I lay here I can’t help but think I did something wrong, and that’s the reason he didn’t wake me up. That I did something that pissed him off to the point he didn’t want to see me before he left for six weeks. My emotions were everywhere. One minute I was angry, the next I would cry, and sometimes I just didn’t care. If he didn’t want to see me, I don’t want to see him. There was one point for all of an hour I considered moving out but that was shot down quickly when I realized that I had no money, all of my friends were gone besides Kelly, and I probably couldn’t make it on my own if I tried. I finally dragged myself out of the bed roughly a week after they were deployed and went downstairs for lunch, seeing as I slept through breakfast. That’s another thing I realized, my sleep schedule is all out of whack. I usually get up when Jake gets back from his morning run, but without him here, I’ve been sleeping till all hours of the day. Once downstairs I opened the fridge and peered inside. I glanced through it and the freezer, finding we really only had vegetables and things for sides. No real food.
I huffed and realized I had to go to the grocery store. So I stormed upstairs, pissed that my plans changed so suddenly. I didn’t want to go anywhere today. I wanted to stay here and finish up my last book and maybe find a movie to watch, but now I had to go to the damn store. I took what I thought was a quick shower, it was actually forty-five minutes. I was losing all sense of time. A simple shower and getting ready should only take me an hour or so, especially now that my hair is shorter. But it took me two hours to get ready. I simply blow dried my hair, put on some mascara in hopes I’d feel normal, and slipped on a light blue t-shirt dress. It was so hot outside today, I couldn’t even imagine wearing pants. I grabbed my glasses and slid them on before making my way downstairs. Jake told me a few days before he left that he was leaving me his credit card. I know he told me he was leaving it in one of the cabinets, tucked away but I couldn’t find it. I shoved my hand in every cabinet and even grabbed the step stool to look up on the top shelves. I was pretty sure Jake wouldn’t put it up that high but I had to check.
I still hadn’t found it and I was so frustrated I could’ve screamed. I looked under the stack of mail, moved things around on the counter, wondering if it fell and after half an hour I still hadn’t found it. Rage bubbled within me. Where the hell did he fucking put it? It’s not like I could call him and ask where it was. I let out a yell of frustration and became even more angry when I saw the card and a note on the other side of the kitchen, tucked between the coffee pot and the wall. “I don’t know why the fuck he thought that was a good idea.” I sneered, slamming my hand down on the card and tucking it in my wallet before looking at the note. ‘Get whatever you want or need, darlin’. Plenty of money on it.’ I scoffed, crumpling it up and tossing it into the trash can. Darlin’ my ass. Even the nice words and the name pissed me off. I grabbed his truck keys and my purse before making my way out to his truck. I got in and shut the door, turning the ignition. The vents blasted hot air at first but then cooled down pretty quick. “Fucking mountain.” I remarked as I slowly moved the seat closer to the steering wheel. Once I was all situated I backed out of the driveway and drove out of the little neighborhood and towards the store. I was still mad, so much so I turned the radio off completely. I usually blast music but I just needed a silent drive. I was heading for the closest little market which was about fifteen minutes away. I didn’t want to be out longer than necessary.
I leaned my elbow on the door and propped my head up as I pulled up to a red light. I sat there, waiting forever for the light to change and looked out my window. The car next to me looked slightly familiar, the silver color reflecting the sun off of it and into my eyes. But as I leaned over I caught sight of the familiar face of my mother. Thankfully, Jake’s truck sat higher than her car so as she looked out the passenger window she only saw the black exterior of the truck. I slammed back in my seat, hoping she didn’t just see me. My heart thudded in my chest and I squeezed my eyes shut as I attempted to calm myself. The honking of a horn made my eyes fly open and I slammed my foot on the gas, speeding off. Seeing my mother made me realize that I was about to go to the same grocery store as her and I quickly changed where I was heading. I drove an additional twenty minutes to the target on the north end of San Diego and felt a little better. I knew my parents never traveled farther than they had to, but I still felt uneasy. I walked into the store, opting for coffee from starbucks before I started my shopping. Although, coupled with the anxiety I just experienced it was probably a bad idea. But I didn’t care. I took my large coffee cup and grabbed a buggy before turning for the back of the store where the food sat.
I couldn’t help but look over my shoulder occasionally, fearing one of my parents would be right behind me. I grabbed things such as ground beef, chicken, pasta, a few microwave or one pot meals. I took my time, scouring the aisles for anything I may need or want. As one person, cooking big meals was almost a waste so finding ways to cook single servings was the best way to go. With Jake I could make a full meal and he’d eat over half by himself. I left the grocery section, heading straight over to the book section and looked around every aisle. I found a few books that piqued my interest, one of them was called Twisted Love and the other, A Court Of Thorns and Roses. I was into older romance stories, Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, The Princess Bride but I felt like I should try something else. So I went for a more modern romance and a fantasy. I thought back to Jake’s note, ‘Get whatever you want or need.’ Smirking, I grabbed a few others that seemed interesting and went to check out. Once I paid I loaded everything into the car and decided to stop at Five Guys for a burger, fries and a milkshake and rushed home. The closer I got to the house, the more nervous I got. Seeing my mom made me realize I didn’t go far. Bumping into them is very much a real threat and now I understand why Jake was cautious about where he took me.
Once I was home I rushed to get everything inside and locked the door behind me. I sighed in relief, knowing I was home and there was no way I could bump into my mother. Once everything was put away I sat on the couch with my food, deciding to eat while I watched a movie. One Natasha suggested was the Princess Bride. I had read the book dozens of times but I had never seen the movie. So I sat, ate and attempted to forget my mothers face. I thought I was totally safe here, but it’s not like I ran off to another country, I basically ran down the road. But as I sit here, a full stomach and my sweet tooth curbed, I can’t help but worry that my parents really know where I am. I tried to not worry, but it seems to be something I’m good at. Halfway through the movie I decided to lay down on the couch, maybe a nap would do me good. As the movie was coming to a close I could feel the exhaustion creeping in on me.
A loud bang woke me up and I jumped up in fear. The banging was coming from the front door, I could see it shaking from the force. I stared at it as I slowly stood from the couch, making my way over the window. I moved the curtains and the blinds only to see blackness. It was the type of black you see in underground tunnels and caves, you can’t see your hand in front of your face, the type that seeps into your bones and scares you to the core. I couldn’t even see the white railings that lined the front porch. The banging continued and I walked over,standing on my toes to look out the peephole. As I did so the banging stopped but I looked out the peephole to once again, find blackness. I sighed and lowered myself off my toes just as the wood on the door splintered and a large hand came through, grabbing the front of my dress and slamming me face first into the door before letting me go. I fell to the floor scrambling away from the door as the hand reached for the locks and turned them. The door slowly swung open to reveal my father. Everything was silent, save for my heaving breaths as I tried to breathe and fight the tears back. He simply stood there and I took the opportunity to get up and run. I went for the back door but it was gone. Why was it gone?! The garage door through the kitchen was gone as well and I panicked, rushing for the stairs. I would go into my room and lock the door before scaling down the lattice by my window. But as I started up the stairs my father was suddenly before me. His hand shot out before smacking me clear across the face and sending me head first into the banister before tumbling backwards down the stairs.
Pain blossomed across my face as I sat up with a yell. I pulled my hand away to see blood on it and the carpet. “Oh, it was just a dream.” I sighed out. I heard my phone buzz and saw it was a facetime from Bradley. Excitement swelled within me and I immediately answered. “Hang on.” I called, standing and rushing to the bathroom with my phone. “Well hello to you too.” He remarked. “Everything okay?” He asked. “Yeah, I just had a nightmare and I’ve seemed to roll off the couch and I hit my nose on the coffee table.” I answered as I wiped the blood from my face. “Let me see?” He asked and I sighed, propping up the phone so he could see me. “Damn.” That’ll probably bruise.” He said. “I know.” It went quiet for a moment before he spoke up. “What was the nightmare about?” He asked. “My dad broke in. All the doors disappeared so I was forced up the stairs…” I trailed off. “Then he smacked me and sent me backwards down the stairs. I must’ve been moving around a lot on the couch and fell off, smacking my face on the coffee table.” I said.
“How often do you have nightmares?” He asked. “I haven’t had them in a few weeks. But…” He raised a brow at me. “But what?” He asked. I chewed on my bottom lip. “I went to the store today and when I stopped at a red light… I saw my mom.” He was silent, his lips pursed in a line and I couldn’t quite tell his emotions. “Are you sure it was her?” He asked and I nodded. “One hundred percent positive.” “And did she see you?” He asked and I shook my head. “I don’t think so. At least, she didn’t look right at me.” I said. “Good.” He said and I walked out of the bathroom and into my room where I flopped down onto my bed. “Woah, your bed’s not made?” He asked and I shook my head. “Nope.” I was usually uptight about my bed. It had to be made or else I wouldn't sleep good. Sleeping in an already messy bed stressed me out for some reason. “Katie? How long have you been in bed?” He asked and a blush crept up my cheeks. “Don’t lie to me.” He added. “Today was the first day I really got up.” I answered. “God. Hangman is gonna lose his mind.” He said and I sat up. “You aren’t gonna say shit to him.” I said and he raised a brow. “He doesn’t get to know every little thing that’s going on with me, especially since he left without waking me, saying goodbye, nothing.” I spat.
“I’m sensing some anger.” He said. “If you were getting deployed, and you asked someone if you should wake them up the next morning to go to the docks with you or at least say goodbye, would you do it?” He raised a brow as if that was a dumb question. “Of course I would.” He answered before he gasped. “Jake didn’t say goodbye.” I shook my head. “No, he didn’t and I can’t help but think it’s because he’s mad at me. But I didn’t force him to sleep on the couch and wait for me to come home.” I had started pacing at this point, my phone propped up on my pillow so he could see me. “Wait, what am I missing?” He asked and I realized he probably has no idea what I’m talking about. I flopped onto the bed, lying on my stomach as I looked at my phone. “The night before you guys left, I heard Jake and Kelly… having sex.” His eyebrows shot up. “That’s weird, Hangman says Kelly is always worried someone would hear and he can hardly get her to say a word in bed.” I brushed it off. “Yeah, well she didn’t seem to care that night. But I went to Natasha's for a while. I felt like I was intruding but I came back home really late and he was asleep on the couch.” Bradley hummed and nodded. “He didn’t seem mad when he got up. He asked if I wanted him to wake me up before he left and I said yes, but then I woke up and y’all were long gone.” I said, letting my head fall to my mattress.
“Katie, I don’t think he did it out of spite.” He said and I huffed. “Then why else would he leave without saying goodbye? It makes no sense!” He shrugged. “I-I don’t know. It’s so unlike him.” He said and I heard a door open on his end. I sniffled, wiping my tears before they fell. “Aw, Katie. Don’t cry, please.” He said and I sat up, sitting cross legged in front of my phone. “Katie?” I groaned as I heard Jake’s voice on the other end. “What’s wrong? C’mon darlin’, talk to me!” He said and I scoffed, scowling and I flipped my phone face down on the comforter. “Katie?” Jake called. “What the fuck did you do to her?” I assume his question was towards Bradley. “What did I do? I think you might want to be asking yourself that, bagman.” Bradley snapped back. “Me?!” He asked, shocked. “Katie, darlin’. Talk to me please.” I knew it was childish, the way I was acting, but I knew if I even looked at him I would give in. “Katie, c’mon. You’re scaring me, I’m worried.”
I grabbed the phone, flipping it over and glaring at him through the screen. He seemed to notice the anger in my eyes and leaned back in surprise. “Oh, you’re worried? Bless your heart.” I said before setting my phone back down. “Wha-You-” He stumbled over his words until he found the right ones. “You don’t get to insult me like that!” He called out and I rolled my eyes. “This is my call with her you know, not yours.” I grabbed my phone again. “Yeah, this is mine and Bradley’s call. So why don’t you find something else to do, without saying goodbye.” I snapped and Bradley snickered at Jake’s confusion. “What?” Bradley laughed at him. “Just leave us alone, Jake. I don’t want to talk to you right now.” I said and Bradley snatched the phone. “Yeah, she doesn’t wanna talk to you.” He said, walking out of his and Jake’s room. “You know he’s going to pout all day.” He said and I rolled my eyes. “Let him. Like I care.” I spat and he just grinned at me. “You know you care.” He said and while I wouldn’t admit it, I do hate making Jake feel bad but I’m so angry with him. “Can we change the subject?” I asked and he nodded with a smile. “Wanna see something?” He asked and I nodded. He turned the phone around and I saw a beautiful view of the ocean and what seemed to be a sun rise. “Oh my god.” I gasped out. “Bradley, it’s beautiful.” I said and he turned the phone back around, a giant grin on his face. “Isn’t it?” He asked and I nodded.
“Hey, Bradley?” I asked and he hummed in acknowledgement. "Why did you use your call on me?" I asked and he just smiled. "Truth?" I nodded. "I've never had anyone to call on deployments." My heart broke for him. I could never imagine being so far away for so long and never having anyone to call and talk to. "I knew Hangman would use his calls to talk to Kelly, so I wanted to call you. Keep you updated, and just talk to you." He said with a grin. "With an answer like that, Jake may believe you really do have romantic feelings for me." I joked and he laughed. "If it gets him to admit his own feelings then good!" I gave him a small smile. "He doesn't have feelings for me, Rooster. Besides, if he did he wouldn’t have left without at least leaving a note.” I said. “You just don’t see it.” I scoffed. “See what? The way he looks at his girlfriend?” I asked, chuckling at the end. “I’m telling you, Katie. There’s something there.” I rolled my eyes at him and we continued our conversation, without the mention of Jake. Once we were done I went upstairs and got ready for bed. My nose still hurts from my fall and I’m sure I would have a nasty bruise just like Bradley said. But thankfully, I’m ninety-nine percent sure that it is not broken. As I laid in bed that night I couldn’t help but realize some of my anger had faded away. Jake telling me he was worried, made me a little pleased. It was so easy for me to give in to him and all because of my own stupid feelings. But I couldn’t just let this go so easily, couldn’t be weak. My thoughts cast me off into sleep, one that thankfully was nightmare free.
I spent the next few days reading and trying to think of what else to do with my time. I had my next therapy session in two weeks and I quickly remembered I told Dr. Davis I would apply to some nursing programs. So I spent a few days applying to a few programs, ones that I would have a decent chance of getting in. The thought of going back to school scared me, but I knew that I would regret not even trying. I was cleaning a few days later, about a week after Bradley called me when the doorbell rang. I froze in the middle of my mopping and looked out of the kitchen and towards the front door. I slowly stalked forwards, standing on my toes and looking out the peephole. I was relieved to see Kelly’s face, looking straight at the door so I swung it open with a large smile. “Hi!” I greeted cheerfully. She gave me a small smile and stepped inside. She hung up her purse like usual and walked into the kitchen. “Oh! Be careful! I was in the middle of mopping!” I called, following after her. She didn’t seem to notice nor care as she traipsed across the clean floors and opened the fridge. “No beer?” She asked and I shook my head. “I don’t drink it.” I said. “Well Jake does.” I nodded, a little caught off guard by her stern tone. “Well he finished the last of them before he left and I plan to get some closer to the time of him coming home.” I responded as she pulled out a water bottle.
“Can I ask you something?” I asked and she hummed. “Is Jake mad at me?” I asked. She pursed her lips, sighing. “I wouldn’t say mad. More annoyed.” My face and hopes fell. “Oh…” I said. “It’s just… you’re always around.” She said. “We keep trying for alone time and you’re just there. Like the night before he shipped out. We had to change up everything so as not to disturb you and you still left.” I bit my lip, looking down at my bare feet. “I’m sorry. If you had asked me to leave I would’ve.” I replied. “But we shouldn’t have to.” She snapped and my head hung even more if possible. “You just follow Jake around like a lost puppy and it’s even getting on my nerves.” She said and I furrowed my brows. “Does it bother Jake?” I asked. “Of course it bothers him!” She said loudly. “It bothers the both of us.” I opened my mouth to reply but didn’t know what to say. “Maybe it’s time you find somewhere else to live.” She said and I could practically feel myself go pale. “I think I'd rather talk to Jake about this.” I said, standing tall. “It is his house and he did invite me to stay… So I’ll talk to him about it.” She scoffed. “He’s going to tell you the same thing I just did. Better to leave before he gets home and avoid the awkwardness.” She grinned at me and all the anger that I’ve had pent up came to the surface. My fists clenched at my sides, my nails making crescent shapes in my palms.
“Is that all you have to say?” I asked, the anger evident in my voice. She just grinned at me. “Did I strike a nerve?” She asked mockingly. “Yeah. You fucking did.” She seemed surprised by my honesty. “I don’t know what kind of satisfaction you’re getting from coming here and telling me these things, but you're done.” I snapped. “It’s not your house.” She said, taking a step closer. “It’s not yours either.” Her face fell. She thought she was clever. “Now please leave.” Her eyes glanced at my fists and she noticed the shaking. “I will leave you with this reminder. Jake is my boyfriend and you will never take him from me.” I scoffed in her face. “And I’ll leave you with a reminder. The world does not revolve around you and I don’t want your fucking boyfriend. You can keep him and I hope that you have the life you deserve with him.” I sneered. “Now leave.” She stood before me, her face mere inches from my own. Her breath fanned against my face and I could smell alcohol. “And brush your fucking teeth when you get home. That’s disgusting.” Her hand immediately flew to her mouth before she stormed towards the door. She grabbed her purse from the hook but it got caught and instead of lifting it, she yanked it and the force pulled the board with the hooks off the wall. “Fuck you!” I yelled as she slammed the door behind her. “Now I have to clean this shit up.”
A few hours later I had cleaned everything up and finished the rest of the house before pouring myself a glass of wine. Before I could even take my first sip my phone started ringing and as I lifted it, Jake’s name flashed across the screen. I slammed it down on the table and stared at it. I took a sip and was going to let it continue to ring, but decided to answer at the last second. “Hey, darlin’.” He said with a big smile and I propped my phone up. “We need to talk.” My voice was stern and it shocked him. “What happened to your nose? What’s going on?” He asked. “My nose doesn’t matter. If you wanted me gone Jake, you should’ve fucking told me. What did you just want a house sitter while you were gone? Just decided to wait till you came home to tell me to find somewhere else to live?” I snapped. “What are you talking about?” He asked, brows furrowing. “Don’t play dumb. Kelly told me how I was getting on your nerves and that I need to find somewhere else to live.” His eyebrows shot up and he leaned back slightly. “Woah! Hold on!” I shook my head. “No! You should’ve told me! If you want me gone, if you’re mad that I’m interrupting your alone time with your girlfriend, you should’ve told me!” I yelled out as I stood. “I can be reasonable if you’re honest with me! But dammit, Jake! I have spent so much of my life around lies, I can’t just let that go!” “Katie. Darlin’-” “Don’t fucking call me that.” I interrupted and he nodded. “Katie. I never lied to you and I never would. I don’t know what Kelly was saying, but I sent her over there to check on you.”
“She sure checked in! Busted up in here and told me all about how I was wrecking your relationship and that I needed to find somewhere else to live, and how you’re her boyfriend and I will never steal you from her. Newsflash, I don’t fucking want you.” I snapped. Saying that to Kelly didn’t phase me, but saying it to Jake, that hurt. “Wait what?” He asked loudly. “Yeah. So you get your wish. I won’t be here when you get home.” I said. “No! Katie? Katie please!” He yelled as I stood up. “What?” If steam could be rolling out of my ears, I'm sure it would. I was shaking. I was so mad. But also upset. I should've known better than to hold out hope that this would work out. Nobody can handle you. You run every one off. “Darlin’, please. Don’t leave.” His eyes were misty as tears filled them and a part of me felt bad. “Please. Don’t leave.” Was he… begging? “Why shouldn’t I?” I asked. “Because whatever Kelly said, it’s a lie. I didn’t lie, she is.” I furrowed my brows. “You’re calling your own girlfriend a liar?” I asked, surprised. “Yes. Because she’s lying. I don’t want you to leave. Katie, if anything I never want you to leave. I’ve grown so used to having you in the house and I don’t want you to leave.”
“Wh-why don’t you stay there and we’ll talk when I get home.” I sat back, huffing. “Jake-” “Katie. Please.” He said sternly. “Please, just stay.” My jaw tensed. “I will be here when you get home. But we are having a talk that day, no putting it off.” He nodded. “Good. Great!” He said. “But if I want to leave, you won’t stop me.” I said and his face fell. “If I stay we have to have a serious talk about what we’re gonna do moving forward because I am so fucking tired of assuming you’re angry with me everytime I turn around.” I said, tears of my own forming. “Katie, I’ve never been remotely angry with you.” He said and I sighed. “Let’s talk when you come home. I’m exhausted.” I said and he nodded. “Alright, darlin’. I’ll see you in four weeks.” He said. “Bye, Jake.” He barely said goodbye before I hung up and chugged the entire glass of wine. This was going to be a long four weeks. I thought before getting up and grabbing the bottle. “Might as well keep this nearby.” I muttered as I strolled over to the couch, flopping down on it.
The following week was my therapy appointment and as soon as I sat down in Dr. Davis’ office, my leg was shaking. “I’m sorry I was late. I can’t seem to get myself together lately.” I said and she shook her head. “No! It’s okay, it was one minute!” She said but I couldn’t help but feel like she was actually upset with me. “Are you sure?” I asked. “I’m not upset or frustrated with you if that’s what you're asking.” She said. “Do you often feel like people are upset with you?” She asked and I nodded. “Let’s talk about that.” I explained everything, from my parents constantly being upset with me, to feeling like Jake is angry with me. We had started EMDR which was a little weird at first. My eyes were closed and I was tapping my knees in a steady rhythm, “I didn’t tell him why I thought he was mad.” She hummed and immediately I felt nauseous. “Are you okay?” She asked as I opened my eyes. “No, I feel nauseous.” She nodded, jotting some stuff down. “You seem to feel everything physically. The dizziness, the nausea.” She said and I took a few deep breaths, the nausea slowly subsiding.
“How do you feel about the situation with Jake now?” She asked. “It’s an eight.” She nodded. “Good! We started at a ten and we’ve already gotten it down to an eight! Just remember you may not feel like this is resolved until you talk to him.” I nodded. “Now, let’s talk about nursing school.” She said and I practically jumped in my seat. “Yes! I applied to three programs!” She smiled. “Good, which ones?” She asked and I told her. “Those aren’t very respected schools. Their graduation rates are low.” She said. “Yeah but… I struggle in school, a lot, and I think these are the only ones that will take me.” She shook her head and started writing. “I want you to apply to these two schools.” She said and handed me the paper. “San Diego State University, University of San Diego? These are the best schools in the city.” She nodded. “I don’t think I’ll get in.” She just smiled at me. “You’ll never know until you try.” She said and I stared at the paper. Once I apply to these two I will have applied to five. “What if I don’t get into any of them?” I asked. “Then we’ll figure out what to do in the meantime and if you want, you can apply again next year.” With that my session was over and I walked out to the truck, the paper clutched in my hand. Once I got in and got the air flowing I looked down at it. “She’s crazy to think I will get in.”
I set the paper down on the table when I got home. I couldn’t think about it right now, my mind was swirling between Jake, the Kelly issue and school. I decided to get lost in a book, I decided to open up Twisted Love. Maybe a little romance will make me feel better. I laid on the couch as I read and had wine and pizza for dinner. It took me a few days to work up the courage to apply and it was Bradley who convinced me too. “So why haven’t you applied?” He asked as I sat on the couch eating a sandwich. “What if I don’t get in?” I asked. “Sounds like a dumb reason to not apply.” He said, making me frown. “You think?” I asked and he nodded. “I know. You should apply! If they say no then you can always apply again next year.” He said and I sighed. “But what will I do if I don’t get in? I can’t just sit around and wait a whole year.” He chuckled. “We’ll figure something out. Why don’t you just do it?” He asked. “I guess I really don’t have a reason not to.” He nodded. “If anything, you have every reason to do it.” He was right. “Okay, I’ll do it once we get off the phone.” I said. “Just so you know, Jake has been pouting since your call.” He said and I giggled. “You haven’t told him?” I asked and he grinned at me. “Absolutely not. I’m enjoying this way too much.” He said. “Has he asked?” He nodded. “At least once a day, and when he realized I knew why you were mad he’s taken to practically begging me to tell him.” I giggled at his words.
“Well I guess it’s almost time for you to go to bed.” He said as I yawned and then I nodded. “Yeah, but I’m gonna send in those two applications before I go to bed.” I said. “You sure you’re not too tired?” He asked and I nodded. “I’ll sleep better if I go ahead and send them in. They’ve been stressing me out every time I think about them.” I said. “Makes sense. Well I’ll let you send those in and I’ll call you next week.” He said. “Alright. Bye, Bradley.” I said and he waved before the call ended. I took a deep breath before going upstairs and going into Jake’s room. It smelled like him and always made me feel better. I snagged his laptop that he’s been allowing me to use and went downstairs. I sat on the couch for an hour sending these two in before I got ready for bed. I put Jake’s laptop back in his room and turned to leave but I stopped in the doorway. Smelling his cologne brought me comfort and I hadn’t been sleeping the best. Maybe I could just snag one of his shirts. I made my way to his dresser and opened the drawer, it was mostly boxers and socks so I closed it and opened the one below it.
I found a burnt orange longhorn shirt and it smelled strongly of Jake. Is it weird for me to wear his shirt? “It’ll be washed and back in his drawer before he ever gets home.” I took the shirt into my room and slipped it on. I looked in my mirror and honestly, I looked good in his shirt and white thong. If Kelly ever found out she’d lose it, but who gives a fuck what she thinks anymore. I crawled into bed and grabbed my book again. I was about halfway through the book and was growing tired until I read the words, ‘On your knees.’ My face burned and I closed the book. “Did I just read that?” I had never read smut before and part of me felt embarrassed. The other part of me had to continue. So I opened the book back up and read on. My entire body was burning as I read and with the smell coming from the shirt I had on, I could only think of Jake and I. Specifically, Jake and I in this situation. An entire weekend hidden away to do nothing but explore each other’s bodies. “Oh my god.” I said, slamming the book shut. “I did not just think that.” I said before setting the book down and rolling over in bed. “I just have to put it out of my mind.” I muttered but it took forever to fall asleep, the ache between my legs was strong but finally I drifted off. But of course Jake was an ever present figure in my dream.
After that I couldn’t pick the book back up, so I started A Court of Thorns and Roses instead. But at this point I also couldn’t fall asleep without wearing Jake’s shirt, so all night his scent wafted around me and he was constantly in my dreams. It was about three days after I sent in the applications that I started receiving emails about the nursing programs. So far I was asked to come in and interview for two and as I prepared dinner, my phone dinged again with another email. I wiped my hands clean and picked up my phone. I opened the email and smiled, ‘Miss Blair, congratulations on moving on to the next stage of the application process. We would love to have you in for a panel interview next week to see if you would be a good candidate for our program.’ I squealed as I looked at the logo for San Diego State University. Between them, United States University and the University of San Diego, I had to get into one, right? I immediately sent an email to Bradley and Natasha in my excitement, but I asked them to keep it quiet. I wanted to email Jake so badly, but I was still so mad at him. I needed these few weeks to hurry by so I could get everything sorted out, but with all the dreams I’ve been having I don’t even know if I could look him in the eye anymore.

Always good when Steph gets back on her blog
When did you last drink coffee? I finished my carafe (like one swallow) this morning, which I intended to do two days ago when I drank the rest, and should have done yesterday before work, but in both cases forgot.
When did you last cry? And why, if you feel like sharing. It probably involved some meaningful music in the car.
What was the last beach you visited and when? I can answer in advance: In a few days I will be visiting my parents on the Oregon coast, so will stop at one of the beaches (presuming Moolack or Agate) that are nearby this coming Thursday.
What book do you plan to read next? I was at the bookstore today and found they had a ton of Johnny Hart's B.C. paperbacks, some of which I'd never heard of and others I'd seen in the title listings but hadn't seen in person. But to answer the question specifically, "The Return Of B.C. Rides Again."
What fictional character/s remind you of yourself? Charlie Brown.
What's in your fridge right now? List as many things as you can think of. Food. Just got my cabin fridge put together under a shelf last night so today, now that it's cold, there are no longer (as many) sodas and seltzers in my regular fridge, and the icepacks are out of the freezer.
If you could have any artist, living or dead, paint your portrait, who would it be? These two are fairly obscure but meaningful: My mother's friend Berghoff and my grandmother's friend Bishop. Berghoff did a charcoal portrait of me when I was 4 so it'd be great if I could have one as an adult (he passed on several years ago), Bishop primarily did still lifes of flowers [and one of Zulus dancing!] but I would love to see what she'd have done with her friend's grandson.
Do you smell anything in particular right now? Happily, no. I say that because the house has been a bit humid and mucky today, but I opened the windows when I got home from being out -- and then there's that corner of the kitchen where the previous tenant apparently had a dog, and wherever it pissed has just recently become volatile.
Do you make enough money to live comfortably? [can be in combination with a spouse] I have been doing that for years. Moved two months ago from someone's upstairs room to an apartment, and thus require a roomie since my rent essentially doubled.
What is one thing you like about your appearance? Don’t say nothing! I have amazing eyes.
What would you like to tell your father? Let me ponder that since I will be seeing him in 4 days. Nothing comes to mind and I am unsure just how much he will remember or care of whatever we do discuss.
What would you like to tell your mother? This I have: "So if you asked me whether you need this SIM card you were sent, then admitted it was for Dad's phone which you said he never uses, but then gave me crap for not texting him, why the fuck didn't we put that new SIM in his phone so he could get a text?"
Whose was the last wedding you went to? Geez, I'm going to say it was Greg & Kimberly's back in the 2000s.
What is your greatest fear? Trump somehow getting into office. To those who favor him and get testy on those who see him as a problem: Name one world or national issue he has said he will address. He hasn't. It's ALL been talk about revenge. Nothing about domestic policy, nothing about international issues, it's all personal shit he painted himself into the corner with and now has to face.
What is a chronic health issue you deal with, even if it’s minor? Coxafloppin.
What was your college major? If applicable. I hold a Bachelor's in computer science. Do you want fries with that?
What new place have you been to recently? I have been to some new stuff locally but names are not springing to mind. I guess you could say that Ronald General Store.
What are you a geek about? Computers.
What is something you have no patience for? Blind-faith right-wingers.
What celebrity would you want to go out for a meal/drinks with? No idea.
Are you happy with your weight? I want to lose 20 pounds.
When did you last hold a baby, if ever? Whose? It's been several years. <<
How many cats do you have? Pistaschio Underfoot's 16th birthday is tomorrow.
How many dogs do you have? None.
How many other pets do you have? None.
How old were you when you got your driver’s license? 18. Didn't get a car until 30 though.
What year did you graduate high school? Frankie Goes To Hollywood put out their second album that year.
What is the first number of your zip code? 9. Just like the person I reblogged this from. Steph: You're in California you readily admit, and the entire Western seaboard is 9. That digit is no secret.
How many of your grandparents are still alive? Zero.
What is your favorite number? I don't have one.
How many kids do you want? Zero.
How many apartments have you lived in? Four or five.
What age do people say you look? I hear 45.
Do you feel like your family accepts you for who you are? Not really.
Do you feel like your friends accept you for who you are? Yes.
Who is the best doctor you’ve ever had? I dunno.
Have you ever been flipped off by a random stranger? That happened just the other day. He was quite the nutter.
Do you have a lot of people blocked on Facebook? I have blocked a number of people. Mostly because they're idiots.
Do you consider yourself spiritual? Not really. I just follow the Golden Rule and it sorts itself out.
Do you consider yourself religious? I believe in God. Does that make me religious? << Yes, it does. I am not, I gave that up for health reasons.
Are you afraid of spiders? Size matters.
Are you afraid of snakes? Variety matters.
Does everyone in your family know your sexual orientation? They should by now but I'm sure some still get it wrong.
What is one thing you find offensive? People who speak from a place of absolute ignorance and will not have anything to do with facts when offered.
Do you often post about politics on social media? Regularly. If you're not angry, you're not paying attention!
Would you ever want to go back to school? Absolutely not. Done with that shit.
What are three things you are naturally good at? Eating beaver, figuring out computer issues, and packing boxes.
What are three things you are NOT naturally good at? Social graces, charm, and knowing when to keep my mouth shut when someone is criminally wrong about political issues.
Is your dream to get married and have kids? No.
Where do you hang your towel to dry after showering? On the towel bar.
If you were the opposite sex, how would you style your hair? Probably not far from what I already do, it's easy and quick.
Last person you hugged? Tanya.
How is the weather right now? Overcast at times, but since it's 9:55pm it's getting dark. There was about a minute where the sky wanted to rain but didn't do it.
Are you missing someone? I don't think so.
What is the wallpaper on your cell phone? The lock screen is a 1930s ad for Nervine, the wallpaper on the icons screen is a 1970s shelf paper of a mushroom pattern.
What do you have handy at your bedside? Tissue, hand lotion, and stuffed sharks.
What is your dad's middle name? Michael.
What is your mom's middle name? Rae.
First thing you'll save in a fire? I'm sitting in front of it right now.

Hello you moody lefty eyebag. 😌 I hate when it's like that, I get so down and start crying, then next thing I know, I have it. Then everything makes sense as to why I was being sad hahaha
Sounds like you were busy today! Wait, so you got hit in the nose today?? Also, what did you make for dinner?
Yeeeeah I am that kind of stubborn person. But! I also just don't like going to the doctors, I hate wasting my time if it's nothing serious.
I think I am more of a sweet person haha. If I go out to eat, the place has to have good dessert. Either I get cake or pie or ice cream. If you visit my house, my freezer is half filled with Ben and Jerry's ice cream, and great value ice cream lol
Nah I think we were 2 shots in. It would have been bad if I threw the shot glass.
Hahahaha that's pretty good! Yeah I know a lot of corny ones and if I ever have a chance, I do puns too. I'm horrible, I love dad jokes.
Hm I don't remember what color the box is for samoas but it's the chocolate with coconut. Like orange on top with chocolate drizzle. Speaking of cookies, I like both. I love it when I make it and it's fresh out of the oven, it's also soft. But then, I love chips ahoy, as long as I have milk to go along with it 😄 and definitely for brownies, I like the middle the most. Weird thing though is that I can't just eat brownies by itself. I always have to have vanilla ice cream with it. How about you, what are your preferences for cookies and brownies?
Also whats your favorite Pringles flavor? I like snacking on sour cream n onion chips or BBQ chips. Oh and cheetos puffs.
I think I wanna learn magic. Being a vampire will get too boring if I live too long.
Would you rather dance the macarena for a whole day or listen to baby shark the whole day?
-CuriousGeorge
haha yeah, when I'm moody like that, I could cry for no reason and I could be very angry even at small stuff. I would say bunch of snarky comment or sarcasms. lol. That's why I always warn others if it's close to that time so they'll know that I dont mean it. hahaha. n then I turn to a nice person again when I'm done with the cycle. lol.
oh no, I didnt get hit on the nose today, thank god. lol. It happened years ago. I think I was at south lake tahoe at that time in spring season, so it was nice out n we played catch but then i got hit and the fun time turned bloody. good thing it hit my nose, i was worried I lost a teeth or two. lol
I made the same dinner, club sandwich from turkey and ham leftover. but today is the last day. I have a 3 days rule in my fridge food storage. unless it's bbq, i read that bbq meat can stay good 5 or even 7 days in the fridge.
yeah i agree with u, going to doctors can be really expensive here.
ah i see,, I'm not really like that, i sometimes check what desert they have but if it doesnt have anything chocolate, i dont really bother to have some, unless if the people who eat with me wants some and wants to share, then I'm down to have desert.
ohhh i looove ben and jerry's ice cream! what's ur favorite? mine is new york super fudge chunks. You should try it! It's so good! it has fudge, brownies, almonds, pecan, choclate bits n white chocolate bits. when i eat that, I always have extra bowl so i can scoop out the pecan and the white chocolate bits out. lol. because i dont like them. aaaand this habit is in my Lost in Assistance series. Y/n has the same habit and Lizzie notice that then when she gets y/n that ice cream, she brought extra bowl for y/n to scoop them out. lol. What's ur fav ice cream flavor?
haha if i were the bartender n u do that to the shot glass, I would hate u. lol.
oh no, u r not horrible, I looove dad jokes. Sometimes they are so funny.haha. u have dad jokes to share with me?
aah yeah, i remember that samoas cookies.
ah okay, thats funny. I never really drink regular white milk. i dont really like it, I like chocolate milk. so i never eat cookies with milk until i tried not too long ago n i was like "fuck, thats actually good. I have been missing it this whole years of my life?" lol. im dumb someitmes. lol.
I like soft cookies n i dont like the crispy ones. i think i like the middle soft part and I dont like to eat it with vanilla ice cream. not a fan of vanilla ice cream. :D i know i'm weird.lol.
fun fact, I have my weird way to eat ice cream. i like to have it in a small ball or cup n i will try to stir the ice cream until it's kinda melted n start eating it or until it's quite melting and just slurp it / drink it. and if i have it on a cone or popsickle, I bite the ice cream. I put this in my lost in assistance's Y/n's way of eating ice cream. I remember some people in wattpad comment in the part she bites the ice cream "bite the ice cream? who bites ice cream? only psychopath." lol.
i like the original pringles or the bbq or the scorchin hot bbq. for ruffles, i like original and also the sour cream one. ooh i remember, lays used to have the ginger wasabi flavor, i looooove that so much. hahaha. it sucks they dont have it anymore.
i dont mind live forever if i can live it with the people i love.haha.
oooh thats easy, i pick macarena. baby shark songs drive me NUTS!. even before I have my daughter. I vowed I will never play it to my kids and told my husband "after emily is born, DO NOT ever, I repeat, DO NOT ever play baby shark for her. I dont care how u do it, u have to avoid introducing her to that shitty kids song." n i said it in serious face. i hate repetitive sounds. lol. n baby shark is repetitive n overplayed. but then I found a different version of baby shark song and it is sooooooo much better, n I let her listen to it sometimes. then he was like wtf? i thought we wont play it ever? hahahahah. n i told him this one is different n more enjoyable.
If u wanna know which one, u can google baby shark super simple songs and u'll see what I meant. hahaha. n now em like to play chase with that song n pretend she is the shark or I am the shark. sometimes she dances to it. the original song the sound and the voice is annoying and it makes me feel like everything spinning but the room gets tighter n tighter n smaller. I dont know why. I told u that im weird. lol
what about u? which one u pick?
Cheerio!

✨Friends to lovers fic✨
Throwing your phone across the room, deep breath coming out of your mouth. The fact that he was coming back today made the time pass so slow it was painful. You were glancing at your phone every now and then checking what time it is, knowing he should arrive around 17PM. Rolling down on your old bed, you took a good look of your room.
Pastel pink walls, white bed, small working table in the left corner of the room. Beside your bed were photos taped on the wall. All those photos woke a memory in you. Some of the photos were of you and your friends, but most of them were of you and Dabi.
Dabi.
Your childhood best friend. You will never forget the day you first met him. Shy little Touya not wanting to play with your dolls. I’M A MAN. He screamed back then, throwing the doll away, making you cry loudly. You will never forget how scared he got in the moment you started screaming around, trying to hush you down somehow. He did everything he could hoping his parents won’t hear.
Yours and Touya’s parents were literally best friends, visiting each other almost every day. Having to face him so often, you two almost had no choice then to become friends. At the beginning none of you were impressed by each others company. But how both of you grew up, you were becoming closer and closer. At some point, you two became inseparable.
When Touya started getting piercings, you were so jealous. You wanted to get that Certilage piercing just like him, but your parents were so strict even the thought of it made their hair get up. Of course Touya being Touya, he didn’t give a two shits about their decision. Picking you up one day after school and brining you to his friend that did his piercings too. That night both families were fighting. His parents lecturing him how he is such a bad influence to you, and your parents screaming on you how you’ll never get married with piercing like that. Saying it’s not ladylike.
,, If no one marries her, I will’’ Touya said, making your heart flutter, and everyone else in the room laughed loudly, finding it cute how he was protecting you.
Of course, growing up both of you went different directions in your life. Moving out of your parents place was best thing that happened to you. Having that freedom you never had before, you were appreciating even little things.
Dabi moved out in another city, saying he never wanted to live in his hometown anyway. Of course, there wasn’t a day that he didn’t contact you. But having him so far away made things much harder for you. The only positive thing about him moving to another city was the fact that your huge crush on him would melt down, at least you hoped so.
You were so in love with him. How could you not be ? Having him around so much, such a handsome and good guy, you simply had to develop feelings toward him.
Walking downstairs, you heard Enji laughing loudly at something your father said. You visiting your parents home again, while Todoroki’s were also there, all of you waiting for Dabi to return. It made your heart warm up again, missing moments when all of you were spending time together so often.
Making your way toward kitchen, you opened the fridge looking for something to eat. Not that you were hungry, you were simply bored and something had to kill that boredom.
Taking the milk pudding, you opened it and took one spoon. You tried to multitask somehow, with one hand you were eating the pudding, while with other hand just scrolling your instagram feed.
Suddenly, a head placed on your shoulder, trying to see what you were looking at. Your parents always did that. They had to know why you were always holding that damn phone in your hands.
,, Dad, this is private, I’m not a child anymore’’ you whined, pushing your fathers head away. You hated when he does that, privacy is privacy and it has to be respected.
,, I didn’t know you were into daddy kink’’ a familiar voice whispered, making you flinch in surprise. Turning around you immediately jumped on the person standing behind you. Dabi laughed, placing his hand around your waist hugging you strongly, before he pulled you up in the air.
,, You little piece of shit, I missed you so much’’ you said hugging him back, not paying any attention to your parents in the background.
The rest of the day was all about Touya. How he was, what did he do, does he have a girlfriend and so on. Of course he liked to be the center of the attention, talking about everything. Not that you were complaining, you were sinking in every word that came out of his mouth, admiring him as always.
At the end of the day, your parents made plans that this week all of you should meet and have a super cool bbq like in the old times. Which meant one big ass sleep over, with Todoroki’s. Those nights were always amazing, so much food, so much sweets and of course so much alcohol for grown ups. That was the reason why Rei and Enji slept over after all. All of them would simply get wasted.
Dabi decided he will sleep at your place, since he never saw your new apartment, all of them agreeing, knowing that there’s a lot he probably wanted to tell you.
First both of you went to his old home, placing his suitcase and taking just few stuff to bring over. He didn’t want to waste any time, since his parents were still at your place, and he really wanted to finally see your new apartment.
Placing his bag in his hallway, he immediately went inside your living room, looking around, commenting what doesn’t look good and how he would decorate it much better. He opened the fridge, feeling like home and took one ice cream out of the freezer. Making his way toward your couch.
,, So, where’s that piece of shit called Kai’’ he asked, biting the chocolate on the ice cream. You were confused a bit, since you broke up with Kai long time ago.
,, Didn’t I already tell you? It’s been six months since we broke up’’ you laughed out. How can it be possible that you left your dear Touya uninformed about your love life.
,, Oh, that breaks my heart.’’ He said sarcastically. ,, What happened?’’ he added licking the ice cream.
,, Well, he cheated on me’’ you lied, sitting down beside him. Well, technically he did cheat on you, but the reason behind it was because he found out about your feelings about Dabi. He found out that he was only being used to forget your one sided love. Not that you didn’t like Kai, you did find him attractive, but you couldn’t force yourself to do with him stuff every couple did. Which made him cheat on you, hoping he will make you step further. But at his surprise you did something every normal person would do, broke up with him.
You did feel disappointed that you two had to part your ways like that, but you also understood him and with that you couldn’t force yourself to hate him or be that much hurt.
,, He didn’t deserve you anyway. I have no idea what did you see in him. Dude looks like he fed a whole Village in Africa, no offense ‘’ he said, making you laugh.
,, Anyway, we are invited to Mina’s birthday this Saturday’’ you said placing both of your legs on the table.
,, Aren’t we having a bbq that day?’’ Dabi asked as he placed the stick of his ice cream on the table.
,, Yeah, but we can still go tho. They’ll be really happy to see you again, I told everyone that you are back’’ you said, as he placed his head on your lap. You smiled, knowing how much he loves when you play with his hair.
,, Sure, we can do both. I am glad I’ll see them all again’’ he said making your stomach twist out of jealousy. You knew how much Yua and Akari liked Dabi. Of course you were friends, but the fact that all these two had their eyes on him made your blood boil. Even Mina was into him, until she found a boyfriend recently. They didn’t know that you liked him, but you knew very well that they weren’t happy that you had him by your side all the time.
After telling you about the city and all his experience, you two decided to go to sleep since it was already 2AM. You went to the bathroom to change into your silk pajama, coming back only to find Dabi in your bed wearing only shorts.
,, I really wanna get some tattoos too’’ you said looking the tattoos over his chest and arms, wanting to touch every single one of them.
,, Do it’’ he simply said, placing his arms under his head. You just rolled your eyes on him, he knew very well that you weren’t that brave.
,,You can sleep here, I’ll crash on the couch’’ you said ready to stand up. He was a guest after all, and for him you would sleep on the floor if he asked you to.
,, Of course you’re not’’ he said grabbing your arm and pulling you in the bed beside him. Wrapping his one arm around you.
,, Don’t get all cold with me suddenly’’ he laughed while covering both of you with your covers. Of course, you two slept together in one bed before, it wasn’t something unusual. But knowing how you feel about him, you knew that with every move like this, your feelings will grow back even stronger then they were before.
,, Touya, we aren’t children anymore’’ you said, trying to wiggle out of his grip.
,, That’s exactly what I was thinking about. Might as well do stuff adults do’’ he said jokingly, making you push him even harder. Making sure you are smiling he just held you stronger repeating that he was joking.
Once you realized that he won’t really give up, you just gave in, preparing yourself for one sleepless night with him.
Dabi placed your leg over him, slowly caressing your tight while telling you about some nonsense like he did before until you would fall asleep. Once he thought that you fall asleep, you felt his long arms around you and his lips on your head.
Having him so close to you, he didn’t know what effect he had on you. For him it was just one normal night, while for you it was something you won’t be able to keep out of your mind next upcoming weeks.
The next days it was like before. Dabi was spending more time at your place as he did home. You two would spend time together, playing games, going grocery shopping together, visiting cafes and so on. You even saw Akari in one café, and of course she was all over Dabi. You couldn’t watch it, she was touching his arm so recklessly, and the fact that he wasn’t doing anything about it didn’t’ help either.
Excusing yourself, you said that you felt sick. Dabi wanted to follow you home, but Akari was insisting how he should stay, since they didn’t see each other for such a long time. Not wanting to make any scene, you just told him to stay, not to worry and left them.
On your way home, you felt terrible. It wasn’t anything big, but yet you overacted there and had to leave. But you simply couldn’t watch or hear anything more. You were the one that was supposed to touch him like that. You wanted to touch all those tattoos, and even tho you were his best friend you couldn’t find the courage to do it. Yet, stupid Akari did it without a problem.
Knowing that Dabi will probably just come back to your place, you made your way toward your parents house, not ready to face him somehow. In that moment you wished you didn’t gave him your spare keys. You didn’t want to wait for him and think about what they were doing.
Of course your parents were more then happy to welcome you home. Since you moved out you didn’t sleep at their place that often. But they knew something was wrong, not wanting to bother you, they just let you be.
Once again the night was sleepless for you. Dabi did contact you, asking if you are ok and if he should bring something to you, but once you saw that Akari posted him on her Instagram story, you couldn’t even force yourself to text him back.
You knew that It was so childish of you, he didn’t even know how you feel about him, yet that something small would upset you so much. But your feelings were getting better of you. The whole night you were rolling around in your bed, thinking if he’s home yet, if they are fucking somewhere. You were thinking what would have happened if you just stayed. If you did, he would probably just leave home with you.
Waking up next morning, you wanted to kill yourself. The soreness in your eyes didn’t help either. You saw few messages from Dabi, asking where you are, yada yada. Seeing that it was sent around 4am, you tossed your phone across the bed. Did he stay that long with her ?
You slowly stood up and made your way toward the bathroom, brushing your teeth before leaving home. Your parents were insisting that you should stay, and spend the rest of the day with them. It was Saturday anyway, so you’ll be here later anyway.
But you didn’t want, you had to clean your apartment a bit together with your thoughts. Also it was Minas birthday today, so you had to get ready before you leave for the bbq and her birthday.
Opening the door of your apartment, you saw Dabi’s shoes placed beside yours. Slowly tip toeing, you found him in your bedroom asleep. You slowly closed the door, and started cleaning quietly, making sure not to wake him up.
You wanted to lay down beside him, and simply cuddle yourself close to his body, but because of the thought of the last night, you also wanted to grab his hair and force him out of your apartment.
Of course, once he woke up, you couldn’t be mad at him anymore. You had to act it up, and just ignore what happened, after all how could you explain to him why were you even mad ? Dabi left your place around 16PM, leaving you all alone with your thoughts once again. You whished you could tell him how you felt, you wished he would understand.
When the time came, you wore your light purple spaghetti strap dress. Since the evenings were still kidna cold, you decided to wear your oversized black cardigan that was the same length as your dress. Covering just enough.
After doing your make up and straightening your hair, you placed your small bag over your shoulder and wore your overknee lace up boots before you left. The cardigan was bothering you a bit, since you knew how hot it usually gets when you’re in club, but once the wind brushed your naked tight, you didn’t mind it anymore.
Once you got at your parents place, you helped them with all the preparing. Your mom didn’t let you prepare the food, being scared you’ll ruin your dress. But you still helped with plates and all the alcohol. Placing everything on the table outside.
When they arrived Enji and your dad immediately started with the bbq. Rei and your mom were simply enjoying the evening and sipping on their wine, waiting for their food. While both of you and Dabi were simply on your phones. Once again you were upset, all of them complimented your looks, everyone but him. Piece of shit like he looked any better, whit his simple white shirt and jeans.
Lies.
He looked so beautiful without any effort, the tattoos on his arm totally visible.
You took the wine from the table filling your glass, drinking it fast down. Just the thought of Akari and other girls being all over him was driving you crazy. You had to prepare yourself.
,, Slow down doll, I don’t want to spend the rest of my night holding your hair in the toilet’’ Dabi said taking the now empty glass away from you and laughing a bit.
,,Don’t worry about me, I’m capable of taking care of myself on my own’’ you said taking the glass back and filling it with wine again. Who does he think he is ?
When the meat was done, both of you ate and drank a bit before leaving. Dabi didn’t want to drive since he also had plans to drink. Enji was insisting on giving you a ride, but you two didn’t want to break his fun, after all the club wasn’t that far away.
,,So, who will be there tonight?’’ Dabi asked you, taking the box of cigarettes out of his pocket and lighting one cigarette.
,, Mina of course, Yua, Himari, Ryohei, Hiro, Akari and Kai’’ you said, placing your hands in the pockets of your cardigan.
,, We should make your little Kai jealous, what do you think?’’ He said, placing his arm around your shoulders.
,, Nah, no need’’ you said looking down on the floor.
When you arrived the club was already full of people. Thankfully Mina waited for you two in front of the club, not wanting for you two to waste your time looking for them. You gave her the present that you and Dabi bought few days ago and graduated her. Knowing that Mina is in relationship with Hiro, so the hug she gave Dabi didn’t bother you so much.
Once you got inside, you greeted everyone and ordered your drinks. Of course Akari was giving all of her attention to Dabi, trying to get as close as possible to him.
None of you wanted to wait, so all of you ordered your drinks. You ordered Malibu with cherry juice, you were up for something sweet. Since the sweet drinks kick in much faster and that’s exactly what you needed. Dabi ordered whisky, while Kai, Hiro and Ryohei ordered pure Vodka. Rest of the girls ordered Wine.
,, Hey’’ you heard very familiar voice close to your ear. You turned around sipping on your drink, welcoming Kai with a small smile and nodding your head.
,, How are youu?’’ he asked loud enough for you to hear. Body too close to your own in your opinion.
,, I am good and you?’’ you simply answered finishing your drink, asking yourself why is he starting this random boring chat. Realizing that your friends were eyeing you and your ex down, you smirked to yourself. If they only knew, how little shit you gave about him.
,, Let’s go get another round of drinks’’ you said, and made your way toward the bar, while Kai was following every step you made.
,, You look beautiful tonight’’ Kai pointed after you ordered what everyone was drinking. Well, at least someone appreciates your effort tonight, you thought to yourself.
,, Thank you, you look cool yourself’’ you said already trying your drink, while giving the money with your right hand to the bartender. He didn’t look bad at all, wearing black button up shirt, one part of it tucked in his jeans. His typical black convers shoes. He looked good.
Once you two got back, placing all the drinks on the table, you could feel Dabi’s eyes on you. You weren’t sure if he wanted to tell you something, so you took his Whisky and went to him.
,, What is it ?’’ you asked giving him his drink.
,, Nothing at all’’ he replied eying you down. He was about to say something more, but Akari interrupted him, saying some nonsense. Not wanting to watch them together, you just left them, making your way toward Ryohei, Himari and Kai on the dancefloor.
All of you were dancing. Jumping around and waving your body to the sound of the music. You realized that Kai was trying real hard to get you to himself, but sadly your drinks didn’t hit you that much yet. Still the only person that was on your mind was Dabi. You wanted to look at him, and see what’s he doing, but you were afraid once you turn around you’ll find Akari all over him again, or even worse making out with him. It would definitely ruin your night.
After few more drinks, you finally started getting tipsy. While Mother Mother was playing, you and Himari were jumping around, making your way back toward the table to get your other drink that was already there, you two were screaming at each other ,, My daddy’s got a gun, My daddy’s got a gun, My daddy’s got a gun, you better run’’ moving your body crazily just as the music was.
,, Cheers’’ Himari screamed, once both of you placed a bit salt on your hand. Licking the salt of your hand, both of you drank the tequila fast before sucking the lemon. Making the weird face, both of you laughed preparing another shot.
Making your way back to the others, both of you were going crazy to the beat of the song you loved. With a new drink in your hand, you didn’t think about the consequences. After all the music was just so good, you simply had to drink.
Dancing around, you felt a body pressed against your. Tilting your head to the side, you realized it’s Kai standing behind you, trying to get as much of you as he could. At that moment you didn’t give a fuck anymore, just giving in and dancing with him. You saw Himari and Mina laughing at you, thinking you two will get together.
,, I’ll go smoke one fast, wanna come?’’ Kai asked. You simply shook your head giving him a sign that you'll simply wait and found yourself once again dancing with Himari. You were glad Himari was there, since without her you wouldn’t have much fun as you had now.
,, You are fast’’ you said, feeling Kai’s body behind you again. Slow down by Chase Atlantic started playing, no better song for grinding your body against someone else. Moving your body slowly, you felt his hands holding your hips firmly.
,, Are you sure you aren‘t into daddy kink doll?“raspy and deep voice made you twitch in shock. ,, What’s wrong? Didn’t expect me ?’’ he added, holding your hips stronger, not giving you any chance to move away from him.
You felt like there was no need to answer him, since Mina bought you another drink you were already busy sipping on your drink . After all, all you wanted to do was drink and get wasted in that moment anyway. So you moved your body from the side to the side, enjoying how close his body was to yours.
Realizing that you drank your drink, Dabi took it form your hand and gave it to the bartender that was passing by anyway. Turning you around to face him, he took your arms and placed them around his neck, while his own arms found their way to your waist.
,, Wasn’t the plan to make Kai jealous?’’ he asked. You could feel his hot breath on your ear. Tilting your head a bit to the left, you closed your eyes and gave him a small nod with the biggest grin ever.
The grin was long gone once you felt his hands over your ass, squeezing it tightly. ,, Then why am I at the end the jealous one ?’’ He asked giving you one more squeeze. Drunk like that you forgot about your friends and what might they think.
,, Is this how you treat your daddy?’’ he added, not giving you a chance to even progress the last question he gave you. You were never into daddy kink, but coming from his lips, you were ready to call him daddy as much as he wanted.
,, I want.. drink.. haha’’ you said laughing, hoping he will get you another one, since you weren’t capable to do it on your own anymore.
,, We are going home’’ he said. He was already tipsy on his own, but nowhere drunk as you were. He told everyone that you two are leaving, not giving you much time to greet them. Seeing disappointed look on Akari’s face made your night. IN YOUR FACE YOU BITCH ASS HOE
Dabi helped you wear your cardigan, and placed your bag over your shoulders, before he placed his hand around your waist helping you walk a bit. Well, you could walk, but with his grip around you, it was much easier.
,, I thought you could take care of yourself’’ he said once you two were outside. He placed you on the nearest bench, just to light up his cigarette before he pulled you up once again. You placed your arm around his shoulders, bragging about how you can walk perfectly fine.
,, Stop pissing me off doll, you’re hard to hold’’ he said as his grip was getting stronger.
,,Or what ?’’ You laughed, taking the cigarette from him and placing it between your lips. You don’t smoke usually, but alcohol took over you. Dabi laughed surprised, not used at the sight of you smoking.
,, My little Touya, you weren’t even born when I started smoking’’ you managed to say, while he was just laughing at the nonsense you were telling him.
Dabi didn’t know what he should do first, hold you firmly or pull your dress down, scared it was to high up for everyone else to see what’s under it.
,,Now, behave yourself, we are almost home’’ he said pulling your dress down a little, and throwing the almost done cigarette from your lips on the floor.
At his and your surprise both of your parents were still outside enjoying their time. You threw your arm up in the air ready to greet them, but Dabi stopped you fast enough. It’s not like your parents have anything against you drinking. But he wasn’t in a mood to talk with them about anything tonight. And he knew very well that drunk like that you were more then ready for a chat with them.
,, Already home?’’ Enji screamed once he saw you two. You were ready to brag about how you wanted to party a bit longer, but Dabi once again stopped you, telling them how you didn’t feel good that much.
,,What’s your problem man ?’’ You hissed at the party breaker that was pulling you upstairs to your room. Looking how your parents prepared your room made you grin. There was a mattress beside your bed prepared for Dabi.
,, They really think you’ll sleep down there’’ you grinned.
,, Obviously’’ Dabi said, placing you slowly on your bed.
,, Now, change into your pajama while I’m brushing my teeth’’ he said slowly, making sure you understand every word.
With alcohol in your system, you just lain down to rest a bit, before getting all the power and will you had to change.
Pulling your dress over your head, you started looking for your pajamas. Seeing Dabi’s shirt on the floor, you felt satisfied and just wore it. Standing there in the room, you thought if it’s his shirt he wore today, or just the one he got himself for bed. You would rather sleep naked than in a shirt he just wore in the club. Even the thought of the smell of all the smoke and alcohol made you feel dizzy.
Taking the part of his shirt, you pulled it close enough for you to sniff it making sure it’s not his shirt from clubbing.
,,What are you doing doll? ‘’ You froze. Looking to the side, you saw him leaning on the doorframe while smirk was formed on his lips. Luckily there was enough alcohol in your system to feel embarrassed in that very moment, since the view of you sniffing his shirt was weird as fuck.
,, Can’t get enough of me ?’’ he added getting closer to you. ,, You have to wear some shorts, or I’ll really be forced sleep on the mattress tonight’’ he added looking you up and down, while you just stood there speechless.
,, Come here, let’s take off your make up’’ he said, placing his hand on your back, leading the way to the bathroom.
Once you were in the bathroom, Dabi pulled you up, making you sit on the washing machine. Slowly helping you wash your teeth. Swinging your legs playfully, Dabi almost poured the water he prepared for you on the floor. Placing the glass to the side, he took your legs and wrapped them around his waist. Even tho you weren’t sober, you could completely understand the position you were in. Taking the wet wipes he started cleaning your make up carefully. You just closed your eyes enjoying his touch on your face, while he was giving his best to do it gentle as possible.
Sudden feel of a skin brushing over your nose made you open your eyes. Seeing his face not even inches from yours, made you froze. His nose brushing against your own, before you felt his soft lips against your own.
,, You are driving me crazy’’ he said, placing his forehead against yours. Not thinking twice you placed your hands on his cheeks and pulled him in for another kiss. At first you knew that he was surprised since he just stood there, but after a short second you felt him smile into the kiss, leaning in and wanting more.
With his hands under your, or better to say his own shirt, he was moving them up and down slowly. The touch of his hands rubbing your naked skin softly made you want more of him. Pulling him closer with your legs, you placed your hands on his chest , wanting to feel everything you could.
Pulling your head back breaking the kiss, you attacked his neck, leaving wet kisses all over it. Touya pulled your body up, placing his hands on your ass, making his way toward your room. Making small breaks while pushing your body against the wall trying to kissing you like his life depended on it.
Once he placed you on the bad, he didn’t waste any time, hovering over you and kissing your neck. Wanting everyone to know to who you belong to. He wanted to make sure the next time you see Kai, he will know that Dabi is the one that’s dicking you down.
,, I know you couldn’t stand the sight of me and Akari, but grinding on Kai like a little whore, making me all jealous was really unnecessary’’ he gasped between kisses. Pulling the shirt over your head he threw it over the room, leaving you only in your panties. ,, especially in that little dress of yours” he added, as he looked over your half naked body.
,, Fuck you, what did you expect of me, I was mad’’ you moaned out once you felt his lips on your breast, sucking and biting it.
,, Well.. guess what’’ he said, still sucking your boob, while squeezing the other one.
,,What?’’ you breathed out, eyes closed while enjoying his lips on your body.
,, Daddy will punish his little naughty girl’’ he said, once again leaving wet love marks all over your chest.
,,Touya, I’m really not into daddy kink’’ you said, your hands deep inside his hair.
,, But I am’’ he said, his head in front of your, making eye contact with you. ,, And tonight I want everyone to know who your real daddy is. I want everyone to know who you belong to’’ he said, wrapping his hand around your throat. ,, Do you understand me ?’’ he added.
,,Yes’’ you whispered, not breakig the eye contact.
,,Yes what?’’ he asked as his hand started to apply pressure to your throat. Not being used to choking, you couldn’t really manage to give him the right answer. It wasn’t the kind of choking where you felt like passing out because of the lack of oxygen, but you were still new to it.
,,Yes daddy’’ you managed to say somehow. Satisfied with your answer, Dabi moved his hand away from your throat, leaving small kisses over the same spot where his hand left small marks.
,, Such a good girl’’ he said, pulling your panties down. Licking his lips, as you were exposed to him. The fact that you were so valuable to him, and knowing how much power he had over you was turning Touya even more on.
Not wasting any time, he spread your thighs further apart, his head leaning down to run his tongue through your folds. Feeling his tongue piercing on your clit, something you always wanted to feel, made you throw you head back into the pillow, while grabbing Dabi’s head pulling him closer to yourself.
Licking you around your opening, the warm and hot feeling of his tongue, mixed with cold feeling of his piercing was making you shiver. You could feel him smirk against your core as he saw how much effect he has on you. You moan as his lips and tongue move against your folds, eating you out like it’s his last meal.
,,Touya please’’ you moan out, as he sucks roughly on your bundle of nerves, causing your body to jolt up, as your fingers grab his messy hair.
Flicking his tongue roughly and tugging your clit, his hands were holding your thighs firmly, as his light blue eyes were focused on you. It doesn’t take him long to make you cum all over his mouth, his name falling from your lips shamelessly. Climbing over you, he kissed you passionately, making you taste yourself on his lips.
Pulling away from the kiss, you started kissing his tattoos, something you wanted to do long time ago. Especially since he came back. Dabi breathed heavily, his head hanging low, while you were under him kissing every little line that covered his body.
He gave you the time you needed, exploring his body as much as you wanted. But once he felt your small hands pulling down his shorts together with his boxers, and licking the tip of his already erected dick, he had to stop you. At your surprise, even his dick was pierced.
,, Another time doll’’ he said, pulling you up. ,, I’ve been dying to fuck you since forever’’ he added, slowly rubbing the tip of his dick around your core. Without any warning his slammed his whole length inside making your scream both in pleasure and pain. Wiggling a little, trying to move just a bit away from him, hoping the pain will go away. But Touya couldn’t let that happened, now when he finally had his dick deep inside you.
,,Just relax baby’’ he said not moving, letting you adjust to his size. Placing soft kisses all over your jaw, then slowly moving out of you, only for him to slide back in, so slow that you could feel every vain of his dick move, together with his piercing rubbing your walls.
Dabi was moving so slow, grinding his hips against yours, as his fingers were rubbing your clit gently. Sliding out of you only until the edge of his head remains, before moving slowly again in, repeating the same move all over again. Only God knew how much he wanted to break you.
,, Touya’’ you moan out once he wraps his fingers with yours, placing your left arm above your head, while his right fingers were still rubbing your clit in circles. Your legs shake as you wrap them around him, another orgasm hitting you hard.
Dabi moans with you, as you squeeze his dick while riding of your orgasm. With you having your second orgasm, he couldn’t hold himself any longer. Your warm walls around him coated in juices were driving him crazy. All the soft and slow moves were forgotten, making his motions now much deeper and intense. Pulling out till the end and slamming recklessly into you again. Groaning in pleasure, he was slamming into you with a speed you could only imagine.
,, Touya, slow down’’ you moaned, closing your eyes, still sensitive from your second orgasm. ,, I don’t think I can take it’’ you added, trying to catch your breath.
,,Of course you can take it. Look at you, you’re taking it right now doll’’ he groaned, holding your hips in one place while fucking you hard like no one ever has before. You were a moaning mess, with every move your moans were louder.
,, Oh God, Touya’’ you moaned, fingers still connected to his. Grabbing his back with your left hand and digging your fingers inside his skin.
,, You’re takng it so well love’’ he said, groaning as he felt the pressure of your nails digging into his back. ,, Go ahead, scratch my back as much as you want’’ he added kissing you sloppily.
Once he started rubbing your clit again, you found yourself digging your nails into his back like a wild cat, finding comfort in it. ,, Touya’’ you moaned his name out as both of you were coming closer to your highs. You could feel his dick twitching inside of you, his moves becoming more deeper and jankier. His eyes were shut, while your body started shaking once again. Once again you felt your orgasm pulsing through your stomach, and there you were again squeezing his dick not being able to control yourself as you moaned his name over and over again. Dabi continued fucking you , his groans getting louder and louder, feeling your walls getting tighter and tighter while you were milking his dick down, he released. Emptying his seeds deep into you.
Both of you stayed in the same position, trying to breath normally. His thumb gently rubbing your hand, as he placed kisses all over your bruised neck.
,, You have no idea how much I wanted to be with you’’ he said between the kisses. ,,I’m so in love with you doll’’ he breathed out, making you feel butterfly’s inside your stomach.
,, Are you?’’ you asked, tilting your head just enough to look at him.
,, Don’t act like you didn’t know already’’ he said smiling, while brushing his nose against your cheek. Of course you didn’t know.
,,Fuck you, I was dying here for you, thinking my love is just one sided’’ you said hitting his chest lightly. ,, I even dated Kai hoping I’ll forget you somehow’’ you added hitting him once again, making him laugh a bit.
,, Don’t mention his name. That’s the past. You belong to me now, only me’’ he said, grabbing your jaw and kissing you. You were always his anyway.
,, All yours, Touya’’ you said, kissing him back-
,, Are you kids awake ? ´´ Enji’s head peeked inside your room, finding his eldest son naked on top of his best friends daughter. Making him choke on the air and forgetting the actual reason he was looking for you two.

I think you've horribly misread the situation [shitty roommate pt 2] - leo x reader
wc: 2.3k
genre: contemporary drama, you're definitly going to get second hand embarrassment, cozy fluff
pairing: leo x reader, attempted isabella x leo
reader: gender neutral, they/them
requested: hell yeah
warnings: mild swearing, roommate tries to steal your man once again, mentions of various mainstream vampire media (twilight, the vampire diaries etc.), brief mention of castlevania (even though i haven't seen it yet lol), breif mention of videogames and assassins creed, very mild delusion (roommate is secretly convinced leo is a vampire that's in love with her), attempted age gap relationship (she's 17 and leo's 19, he shuts that down real fast), very bad poetry
summary: You and Leo are both looking foward to spending a long weekend together, and Leo is determined not to let anything interrupt it, even if it means turning down your roommate's attempts to seduce him in the kitchen.
a/n: absolutley no hate or shade or judgement to anyone who has the same or similar traits as isabella!!!!!! at her core she's annoying because she's the antagonist, not bc of any isolated trait or traits
also she's shitty cause she keeps trying to steal your boyfriend?????
Edit: I forgot to mention before, but this is a college au where you're both still demigods, so you went to camp and on quests and stuff together
Tumblr media
This weekend is going to be all about recharging. Recharging from the ridiculous back to back closing and opening shifts at work, recharging from having to redo that stupid project twice because your professor couldn’t decide on a clear way to define the criteria, and recharging from Isabella having her townie friend Regan over almost non stop to “completely shake up her look” as she put it.
Between the constant presence of someone you’d barely consider an acquaintance and Big Time Rush’s self titled album blasting on repeat out of her giant airpod shaped speaker, it’s been harder than usual to get in some effective self care. You have no idea how many more times you can hear the phrase “I’m going for Jade West meets Elena Gilbert, with just a little Buffy Summers” before you lose your fucking mind.
Thankfully, the hard part is almost over. There’s some minor holiday tomorrow on friday, so you and Leo both have a three day weekend ahead of you, which you intend to spend entirely together. You planned ahead, frontloading homework, chores, errands, and everything you could think of to remove anything that isn’t cuddling or playing video games and watching netflix together from your horizon.
This includes going straight from work to the grocery store to stock the fridge and get any snacks you and Leo want. You had texted him a while ago asking for anything he was craving, and head into the store with a concrete list. After a while, you circle around some aisles, avoiding the check out.
“I feel like I’m forgetting something,” you muse, knowing it’s untrue, but hoping to trigger a memory anyway. You can’t put it off any longer, finally checking out and heading back to your apartment. You’d be lying if you said you weren’t avoiding Isabella just a little.
You know bringing in all these groceries would be way easier with Isabella and possibly Regan’s help, but you just don’t have the social energy to talk to anyone, much less her, right now. By some miracle, you bring everything in yourself, and hope to get it put away before you see Isabella.
You turn to the freezer, putting away the ice cream. When you turn back around, you’re suddenly met face to face with Isabella, who has opened one of the boxes and is picking at a pastry.
“Hey girlie,” she says, elongating the hey.
“Hey,” you reply lethargically, putting the last of the groceries away. She looks at the pastry in her hand like she’s just noticing it.
“Sorry, I can’t help it, I’m italian.” She smiles, endeared by her own behavior. You have no idea what being italian has to do with asking before you open a box of your roommate’s food, but this really isn’t out of character for her. She brings up the fact that she’s half italian more than Lele Pons blames her behavior on being latina.
She’s wearing sweatpants that say chaser on the leg in red and gold varsity font, and a tight tee shirt that says “it’s okay to love them both” with silhouettes of the male love interests from one of the vampire shows she always watches. You collect the plastic bags to put in recycling, and see a piece of paper on the counter.
It reads as follows:
Drowning in my mind
No one hears me cry
Who was I before society
Before society put me in a pink dress
And handed me blonde hair dye
And told me to lose ten pounds or be labeled a freak?
The happiest people cry the most
Let the lyrics be your story
But I’m not like the other skinny blonde pretty girls
I’m
Different
-b.g. xox
You hold back a sigh.
“I think this is yours.” you say, handing it to her.
“Oh, it’s just some of my poetry I left lying around, that’s so embarrassing.”
I know, you think, you do that all the time.
“Did you read it?” She asks, hopefully.
“Nope.”
“Thank god, that would have been so embarrassing. My poetry is something really… deep, and personal to me.”
“Uh huh. Hey, I’m going to be doing a lot of self care this weekend, so-”
“Oh!” she interjects, eerily similar to Phoebe Buffay - you guess she’s been watching friends again - “I wanted to ask… is Leo coming over later?” Her voice is riddled with subtext, the expression on her face a little too invested in your answer.
“Uh, yeah. I told you the other day we’re spending the weekend together…”
She cuts you off again, a sudden, intense look on her face.
“When will he be here?”
You check your phone, scrolling through your recent texts.
“By 7 at the latest.” It’s around 6:40 now.
“Oh my god, I have to change,” she rushes back to her room, presumably digging through her recent additions to her closet.
You’re frozen for a minute after the interaction, left with a furrowed brow and the beginnings of a headache. You blink, then choose to reschedule processing why she feels the need to change for your boyfriend to a more convenient time. That’s enough of that for today. You don’t care what else happens, you’re not talking to anyone besides Leo for at least the rest of the day. You retreat to your room to finally shower and change into something comfy. As you pass by Isabella’s room, you hear her talking to Regan.
“...There’s something almost… supernatural about him.”
You bite back a laugh.
“Do you think he’s a…” Regan begins, ending the sentence with something too quiet to hear, but you’d bet almost any organ she said vampire.
So close. So, so close, and yet… here you are.
Not much later, Leo texts you to let you know he’s here. You read his text, and run out to hug him in the living room before even typing a reply. He picks you up, and spins you around. The embrace is warm and fulfilling and familiar, and you wish it would last forever.
“Hi, Sparky.” you murmur into his neck.
“Estrella…” he says, rocking you back and forth gently and pressing a kiss into your jawline, “I missed you so much.” He punctuates the sentence with another kiss, this one to your lips, and you smile more genuinely than you have all day. You’re about to agree when you remember the good news you’ve been saving to tell him in person.
“Guess what I got on sale for like, half off,” you start, excitedly, continuing at his invested expression, “the Assassin’s Creed bundle I showed you!”
“No way,” he starts, and you nod.
“I’ll go get everything set up, drinks are in the kitchen!” He watches you retreat into your room, disbelieving how he could possibly get someone as perfect as you to fall for him. He’s not going to question his luck. He grabs a couple caffeinated sparkling ices, and meets you in your room, setting down his bag and grabbing some comfy clothes to change into.
As you both get settled in, you fill each other in on all the ridiculous shit you’ve been through this week. You finally conclude the bizarre - yet somehow standard - Isabella escapades.
“So I will be avoiding all contact as much as possible,” you laugh.
“Yeah, no shit,” he agrees, “Consider me your human buffer.” You thank him, hugging him again and pressing a kiss to his lips.
The next couple hours are spent cuddling and finishing season 4 of Castlevania. Both reeling from the season finale, you agree this is a good place to take a break, get some food, and decide what game you should start with. It’s already 10pm, which most people would consider too late for dinner, but you have all weekend to fuck up your sleep schedules.
“Let’s review,” Isabella says, holding up two red lipsticks. She turns to Regan. “Which one?”
“That one,” Regan says, pointing to the one on the left, then turns to her list, and continues. “Here’s what we know; we’ve never seen him eat, and he never seems tired. He’s really smart-”
“Almost too smart,” Isabella adds, selecting black rose dangle earrings from her jewelry. Regan agrees, and continues.
“He’s almost hypnotically attractive, and his smile is a little too dazzling.”
“There’s something… supernatural about him. Like he’s not… all human.”
Regan writes this down.
“Plus he’s always wearing black and red, and those flowy button up shirts? It’s all adding up, Ree. That dream that someone was outside my window, the ring, everything…” She says, referencing the black and red cocktail ring she’d found with her stuff when she’d first moved, “I’m not saying it’s definite, just that… there’s a chance.”
“What about…” Regan says hesitantly, nodding toward your room.
“Please,” she scoffs, “he’s only with them to get close to me, like Damon and Caroline. Edward couldn’t have just approached Bella out of the blue, he had to infiltrate her friend group first, to seem less suspicious. Not to sound mean or anything, but they really don’t seem like the type someone… like him… would choose.” her voice gets dreamy when she mentions him.
In spite of having seen most mainstream vampire media almost as many times as Isabella, Regan still considers her the expert on these things, and decides not to point out that Edward didn’t infiltrate Bella’s friend group. Maybe it comes up in one of the retellings she hasn’t read yet.
“So, what now?”
Isabella sets down her lipstick, and turns to her friend.
“I tell him.”
Regan’s eyes widen.
“You’re going to tell him you know?”
“No… not yet. It’s too soon, we don’t have enough evidence. I’m going to tell him I know he’s in love with me, then once he’s secure in our relationship... we’ll see where it goes.”
She stands up, assessing herself in the mirror. She chose her outfit carefully; short red dress with black roses and black mesh collar, black rose bracelet to match her earrings, snug faux leather jacket, and black stiletto ankle booties with a very skinny heel, the zipper on the outside gold, not silver. She fluffs her wavy hair and turns towards the door. She looks back one more time, holding onto the doorway.
“Wish me luck.”
Leo enters the kitchen, seeing Isabella already there, leaning against the counter seductively. She’s wearing an outfit and jewelry this late at night that makes Leo wonder if she’s going to an emo tea party. He puts the takeout in the microwave. She’s still staring at him.
“Uh… hey.”
She lets out a dainty giggle, looking him up and down.
“... Hi.”
At a loss for words, and really wanting the awkward silence to be over, he continues, “Did you need something?”
“What I need,” she walks closer to him, tracing her finger over his collar, “is you.”
What the fuck?
His brain seems to stall for a moment, and she uses this opportunity to continue.
“I know why you’re here. I know that you’re only using them to get closer to me. I know-”
“Woah-”
“That you’re in love with me.”
Okay, double what the fuck.
She takes his stunned silence as shyness, and steps closer, putting her arms around his shoulders.
“You don’t need to play so coy, I-”
This time she’s the one that gets cut off. He grabs her arms and gently steps away, trying to make it abundantly clear that he’s not into this.
“Woah, okay, slow down. First of all, you’re 17 and I’m turning 20 in a couple months, so that’s a hard no. Second, I don’t know where you got this idea, but I am not dating them to get closer to you. We’ve known each other since we were like, 15, and have been through everything together. I’ve only known you for a couple months. I love them. Probably more than I’ve loved anything ever. I thought that was pretty obvious.”
He doesn’t want to be mean, he really doesn’t, but he can tell from the look on her face that she still thinks this is all part of some game.
“So why don’t I ever see you eat? Why are you so smart, and always up at night? I know what you are.”
He has to physically hold back a laugh. He takes a step back, and places his hands on the counter.
“Isabella, I have adhd. And I’m literally an engineering student. Why wouldn’t I be smart and have a shitty sleep schedule?”
She starts to protest, and he pulls out the reheated take out from the microwave.
“And for the record, I do eat.”
Exiting the kitchen quickly and retreating back to your room, he hands you your food.
“I got the game set up!” you say excitedly.
“Nice!”
You take one look at his face and can tell something happened. He sees this, and continues.
“I just had a very… interesting interaction with Isabella,” before he finishes the sentence, your head is already in your hands. You let out a groan.
“What did she do?” you mutter from behind your hands.
He pulls you into his lap, rubbing your back.
“I’m not totally sure,” you laugh, “but I think she thinks I’m secretly in love with her…” you’re both laughing before he can even finish the sentence.
“No…” you laugh, “no fucking way…”
“Believe me, I put an end to that as soon as it started.”
“Oh, I do.”
He runs his hand over your back, and you’re quiet for a moment.
“You know,” he continues, “I think getting our own place has definitely moved up the priority list.”
You couldn’t agree more.

You could listen to the songs here. I listened to this while writing this.
'I know how the summer goes' softly played in the background; she was sticky with sweat. She was sprawled on the floor of their bedroom. He sat on the bed above her. She was working on an essay on summer love for her column, the deadline was fast approaching. She looked to her left, and their room overlooked the ocean. The window opened to the bedroom patio, where they would often sit and work during the summer. Today he was oiling her hair while she worked hard on her piece. He'd just wrapped up, so he offered to help ease out some stress. She laid her head on the side on his knee and looked out to the sun shining down on the beach.
Ellie could almost touch the memory of when she first realised she was in love with Harry.
4 years earlier...
They'd been dating for a few weeks now. Harry planned the first date, so she arranged the second one. She'd quickly realised that Harry loved his walks. Working as a software developer left him with little to no time to move around. So he takes any opportunity to exercise or move his body. Ellie was a freelance journalist who's spent the better part of the last two years working from home. The idea of walking around or being on her feet was too taxing because of her chronic pain. But she liked harry, didn't she. So that's what she kept telling herself. When her hips hurt a little too much, or when she pulled her back from walking around too long. It'd all be worth it in the end. It had to be.
On this particular evening, they'd decided to meet up for a gig. Harry had found this artist that was playing in a bar downtown, so they'd meet there. She walked up to him and kissed him on the lips. "Hello to you too" He smiled.
"Hey, I'm sorry, I just missed you." She smiled wide. "I missed you too." He linked their arms and walked into the bar. He asked her to go ahead, and he'd join her with drinks. She walked on and waited for the band to start playing. He found his way back to her soon enough, with their favourite beverages.
Once the gig was over, they walked out of the bar and discussed where they should go to get dinner. "So, there's this brilliant taco place just down the road. We can walk there. What'd you say?" He smiled at her.
"Oh sure, let's." Ellie knew this wasn't the best decision. She'd be in a whole lot of pain by the end of the evening. She had work tomorrow, a deadline she couldn't miss. But It had to be worth it, right?
"What'd do you want to listen to today?" She suggested. She dug into her bag to find the earphone connector and offered it to him. They'd do this a lot, listen to music together, a new genre every date, sometimes their favourite albums. The last time they were listening to Harry's 70's indie playlist. You can tell a lot about a person by the music they heard. This was quite the ice breaker during their first few dates, so they decided to make it a thing. Now they would sometimes pick certain words or phrases and listen to what came up.
"Guilty pleasures?" He asked. "I can tell you, but I'm afraid it won't make for a great romantic walk down a dark road" She smiled. "I can take it." He laughed.
So she did. They blasted an old rock playlist, with mostly Cream. "You really love Cream, huh?" He said after a bit. "More than Neutral Milk Hotel," She told straightfaced. He blinked at her for a sec and burst out laughing. "That was a terrible one. Worse than my puns, God!" He laughed.
"These tacos better be mind fucking blowing, Styles," She says. Her hips were starting to ache a little. "Yes, Ma'am. I wouldn't dare disappoint you." He smiled. Their conversation went on about things here and there. Soon they reached the taco truck, right by the side of the road. The place was packed with people. Patrons had resorted to sitting on the pavement because of the wait.
"Okay, their birria tacos are the best, but we can get something else if you'd like?" Harry asked her. "Oh, that actually sounds absolutely perfect. Do you mind if I go get us a spot while you go get the food?" Ellie asked. "Sure, you do that." He said and leaned to kiss her cheek and made his way to the truck.
Ellie walked towards the pavement and slowly sat down. The moment her bum hit the pavement softly, she knew she was in a world of pain. Only more was waiting for her the longer this night went. She quickly dug into her purse to get out her cigarettes and lit one. It set in some ease, but it wasn't enough. She needed to get home, but what'd she tell Harry? Her experience telling people about her chronic pain has always ended up in them pitying her or not entirely believing her. Now, don't be fooled. She's in pain, but she didn't want no one's pity. She just wanted someone to recognise the pain and help her find a goddamn solution to it. In contemplating her exit strategy, she didn't realise she started tearing up. She quickly stubbed her cigarette and switched on some music to distract her. She waited patiently till Harry arrived with the food.
Harry walked over to Ellie with their food in his hand. Only to find her doubled over with her head on her knees. He rushed to her, placed their food on the pavement, and nudged her shoulder. "Ellie, are you okay?" He asked her gently. Ellie looked up, and she looked like she was in a lot of pain. "Hey! What's wrong? Why are you crying?" He seemed very concerned now. "I'm in a lot of pain right now, and it flares up when I'm on my feet for too long. I'd been out all day before we met, and I wasn't expecting us to walk around so much." She all but cried. "Oh, you poor thing. I'll call a cab right now, and I'll take you home, okay?" Harry said, his hand gently rubbed her arm. She sniffled in response.
The cab arrived soon enough. Harry helped her into the car and got in after her. "Would you like to try and sleep till we get there? I can keep an eye on the map." He offered. "Thank you." She said before leaning her head against the window and closed her eyes.
"Ellie, darling. We're here." His voice broke her out of the soft slumber she'd fallen into. She opened her eyes and looked out, and sure enough, they were outside her apartment building. She got out of the cab and started walking towards her door, expecting him to follow her. Still, she turns around to check, and he's about to call out to her. "Are you not going to come upstairs?" She questioned. "I need to make one more stop. I'll be up in 10." He shrugged. "Okay, don't be too long." She says and continues walking.
Harry takes the cab to the nearest store and buys a pack of Epsom salt. His sister would always soak her feet in Epsom salt and hot water after ballet lessons. So he knew this would bring Ellie some relief.
Whenever they'd had a sleepover, they always end up at Harry's place, so he'd never really been here to her home. Her door was a dark pink, kind of Fuschia. He turned the knob, and it was open, so he walked in. The place was filled with little trinkets and plants and other knick-knacks all over the place. The centre of attention had to be her bright yellow couch. All her furniture was pointed at this showcase filled with other ceramic figurines. It was very colourful. If you look at Ellie, you wouldn't expect her to live here. Her style is muted and minimalistic, apart from her hair. That was always a bright colour. This time it was bright pink, very close to the colour of her door. He wondered if she changed the colour of her door as often as she changed her hair. But otherwise, she wore blacks mainly with an occasional cream and some other muted colours. So why the eccentricity in her décor, he wondered. He didn't ask her, though.
"So I think a hot bath would really help you, I got some Epsom salt, and you know, we could try it?" He asked her hesitantly. "A long bath can help ease your pain," he said. "Yeah, I'd like that," she said. "You wait here; I'll set it up." He ventured into her flat. She took off her jacket, walked into her kitchen and took out a joint. Holding the joint in between her fingers, she looked for the lighter and slowly lit it. Walked back to the couch, took off her pants and sweater she was wearing and laid back on the sofa and took a long drag. She knew now she could relax, and the pain would slowly ease up.
Meanwhile, in her bathroom, Harry was running a bath for her. He sat on the edge of the tub with his hand underwater to check the water temperature. Once it was hot enough, Harry walked back to the living room. He walked in on her, smoking the joint, for the first time that evening, he saw her so relaxed and quiet. He didn't want to disturb her. But she opened her eyes, "Hey you" she smiled. He reached for her. "The bath is ready. Come on," He said. She took his hand and got up. She stood on her tippy toes and kissed him, and he kissed her back, slowly supporting his palm on her lower back. He deepened the kiss, she put her arms around his neck. He smiled into the kiss and pulled away.
"I really like you, you know?" He held her in place with his arm around him and looked at her. His gaze bore into her. "I'm here for you, so you have to tell me how I can help you," He said. That's when Ellie looked away. She started walking towards the bathroom and looked over her shoulder. "Come sit with me?" She asked. "Of course." He said. "Can you bring me the ice pack from the freezer, please?" She called out. He turned around and walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge to get the ice pack. He checked the time on his phone and walked back into her bathroom.
Ellie was already in the bathtub, and there was music playing softly while she smoked. He sat on the toilet and passed her the ice pack. "Here you go," He said. In return, she handed him the joint. He gave her a small smile and took it from her. He took a long drag and leaned back on the seat to stretch his legs a bit. She had these tiny pots of creepers wound up on different pipes all over her bathroom. She held the icepack to her face and felt so much relief.
"Elle, are you feeling any better?" He asked her. She nodded. Did the day go just like you wanted? played softly as she hummed along to it. "I know you want me to tell you what's going on, but I'm afraid you'll think I'm crazy," She said, not looking at him. "Darling, try me. I'm here to listen," He offered. He was still nursing the joint, looking like some kind of greek god. Just casually sitting on her toilet and observing her so carefully, she felt safe. Ellie's pain had calmed down a bit. The hot bath was helping quite a bit.
"Okay, so here goes, I took a fall about three years ago, and it kind of fucked my knee up. So I couldn't exercise much, and I wasn't moving around much. After a few months, I tried to do a simple workout, just to get back into the routine, but I was in an excruciating amount of pain." She looked up at him and saw that he'd moved to sit on the floor closer to her. When she looked up, he reached for her hand with a smile and held it. His rings felt cold on her hands as he slowly pressed the points on her fingers. It felt perfect. So she focused on that and continued. "After that, I went to a doctor to figure why it happened, but they couldn't understand because there weren't markers on the tests they did. Over the years, I went to all kinds of practitioners to help me find a solution to this pain, if not an answer to what it is. But they just kept saying it's in my head and not really give me an answer. I went to a psychiatrist, and they tried medication for depression. It only made me very drowsy and inefficient at work. But other than that, I don't really know what it is. I'm just hurting all the time." She sighed.
"Ellie, that is not okay. You shouldn't be in this amount of pain. I'm so glad you told me about it." He said. Harry reached for a stray strand on her face and pushed it back, and ran his thumb along her cheek. "Over time, I have stopped talking to people about this, 'cause it's not going change anything, and they just end up pitying me. So I did the next best thing, I bought this flat and made my home chronic pain friendly. I work from home, so I don't exert myself and have done that for over 2 years now. It's awfully lonely, though."
"I can't imagine how that must feel. For the record, I don't pity you. I just wish you'd told me before, then I wouldn't make our dates so hard on you. But wait. Did I cause you a lot of pain when we had sex?" He worried his lip and looked at her. "Oh no! You didn't at all. I just didn't want you to think I'm somehow weak and can't take care of myself. Today was a lot, and I'd been out for a couple of meetings for some upcoming projects, and it just all ended up weighing me down." She was tearing up now. "Darling, please don't cry. I don't think you can't take care of yourself. I think it was incredibly responsible of you to tell me when you reached your limit. I'm happy to accommodate whatever you need." He said to her. She could tell he was earnest. "Thank you, Harry. It feels good to be able to tell someone and have them believe me." She said to him.
They had been listening to Sea Change by Beck while they smoked together. He sat on the floor of her bathroom, with his legs stretched out and his hand in the water, holding one of her ankles. Just as a reassurance that he wasn't leaving. They talked mindlessly. He asked her about her ceramic figurines, and she told him that her grandma used to collect them, then her mom, and now she does. She brought them with her when she moved to this city. Her favourite one was the teal coloured soapstone hippo. She used to have heart-shaped soapstone, but she gave it to an ex who threw it away after they broke up. Just like that, he told her about the first time he fell in love. How he likes to keep in touch with his exes because they all ended mutually and were lovely people. She told him about her first break-up. They exchanged sibling horror stories. He told her about his niece Willow, whom he lovingly calls Willy. She hadn't realised until then, as they listened to the saddest break-up albums of all time, that Harry was in it for the long haul. "Think you're ready to move to the bed?" He asked as he rubbed his eyes. She slowly got up, and he stood up to help her out of the bath. Pulled up a towel for her and handed it to her. She walked over to her drawer and pulled out a pair of pyjamas for herself. He undressed into his boxers and placed his clothes on the wing chair next to her windowsill. She got into bed and opened the covers up for him. Her room was decorated the same, but fewer breakable items were in there. She had a few pictures of her family upon her wall, and a dog that he assumed was her childhood pet. He climbed in. "Small spoon?" He asked her; she answered by wrapping his around her and laid her head on his chest. He slowly ran his fingers through her hair, and she sighed in contentment. "You know, when I first realised that they weren't gonna be able to find what's wrong with me, I'd listen to 'If you're feeling sinister a lot. It was kind of a constant at the time." she said.
"When Stuart Murdoch wrote the album, he was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, so he was on bed rest for a long time. He used to look out of his window and see all these people living their lives, and he'd feel so left out? So he poured all that yearning into it. One of the songs even has an overlay of children playing in the background. That album got me through some dark times." Harry was running a finger along her arm, raising goosebumps on her warm skin. Harry places a kiss on her hair, "You know when, Willow, was a little girl. I'd play this game with her during bedtime. It would really tire her out and change her mind from being upset for having to go to bed. Do you want to try it?" He says. "Sure, why not?" She smiles and places a kiss on his tattooed chest.
"Close your eyes. No peeking, okay?" He looks over to check a pokes a finger in her side to make sure, and she bursts out in giggles. "Okay! I promise." She laughs out. He holds her closer and takes a deep breath, her hair smells of berries and residual smoke, and he decides then that's his favourite smell. "We're on a hill. It's cold out. Both of us huddled under a blanket, looking at the sky. It's just us there, so it's very quiet. You can hear the birds around and the slight wind. When it touches you, you dig yourself closer to me, and I hold you a little tighter, just like I am right now." She listens carefully, picturing precisely what it would look like. She wonders if they have any pets with them, "Can we have a dog?" She asks, "Of course, whatever you'd like, pet." He says. "Okay, so we have a dog, a dalmatian puppy. What do you think her name should be?" She asks him. "You want a girl, huh?" He smirked at her. "Uh yeah, they're best, of course." She said as a matter of factly. "Um, what do you think of birdie?" "I love it." she smiles. "Birdie is running circles around our blanket. She's completely enchanted by butterflies and jumping up and down to get to them. She smells like lavender shampoo and puppy smell. She has a small spot on her nose that's shaped like a heart. That's what made you pick her at the pound. She's wearing a baby pink collar with a gold medallion which has her name engraved on it. She just saw us watching her, so now rushing to cuddle. She comes running to us and lands herself right in between, and we take her inside the blanket and settle in for a good ol' nap." Listening to him describe in such detail a life that he envisions for the two of them makes her feel so full of love.
"I feel so full and happy. A little hazy with that feeling, so much so that I can't remember what I was upset about." She smiles into his chest. "I told you, it'll help. It's tried and tested, ma'am." He says, ruffling her hair a bit. "Thank you so much, Harry. Thank you for staying and taking care of me and making sure I was okay. Thank you for listening to me and not judging me and just being here." She tears up a little.
"Hey, no tears." He says, wiping a stray tear that escaped. "And, you don't have to thank me at all. I just want you to be honest with me, so I can be there for you. You don't need to carry this all on your own. If you allow me, I'd like to ease the burden a little bit." He says as he runs his thumb along her cheek.
Now...
The loud barking from the other room jolts her out of her daydream. She looks up to see the reason behind the sound. Birdie comes running towards their bed with her toy, all prepared to jump up, but Harry stops her. "Birdie, no! Don't jump on Mummy!" "It's okay, Harry." Ellie reaches for Birdie. "You spoil her so much, she'd never going to learn." "Oh come on, sweets, it's our vacation. You have to let her get away with some things."
He sits up, and Birdie immediately places herself on his lap and whines for him to scratch her. He happily obliges. "Now, my darling wife, come here and give me a kiss before I take our baby out for a wee." You smile and lean up for a kiss. He kisses your nose once before getting out of bed and walking over to wear a pair of shorts. He turns around to Ellie, and says "Are you feeling up to a picnic?"
She smiles and hits save on the document she was typing. "Yes, I'll get the snacks ready. Give me five minutes." She places the laptop on the bed and walks over to him. She reaches on her tippy toes and grabs him by the neck, and gives him one big kiss.

Help in Three Phases | Tom Holland
masterlist found here
pairing - roommate!Tom x reader word count - 4,359 warnings - language, period talk, masturbation (f), use of vibrator, oral (f receiving), m/f sex A/N - idk I’m pmsing pretty bad and this is how I’m feeling so here we are
summary - Your period hits you in three phases, and after living with Tom for six months, he finally starts to catch on to what you need during each one.
Tumblr media
You had been living with Tom for a long time, and you loved it. You got along really well and made the perfect pair of roommates. Growing up, the two of you had been best friends. When you wanted to move out of your parents’ house but couldn’t afford to live on your own yet, Tom felt it was only natural to offer up his spare bedroom. You’d only have to pay half the rent, and if you missed a month, Tom would have no difficulty covering for you.
There was only one problem that came from being so close to Tom, and that was your dating life. For years, guys wouldn’t approach you because they assumed you were with Tom. And when they found out you weren’t, they were scared away by the fact that you lived with him. It was completely infuriating. Yes, you had, from time to time, wondered what it might be like to cross that line with him, but you were just best friends, and you hated how much that hindered any option you had in the dating world. It grew especially frustrating during one specific time of the month.
You were two things when you were PMSing: irritable and clingy. Not a period cycle went by where you didn’t wish you were the weepy girl on her period. No. You were the pissy girl. You got mad at everything, and you knew you were the worst to be around. All of the problems started about three days before your period actually hit and didn’t end until three days later. So while most girls dealt with seven days of a period, you basically dealt with seven days of bleeding and six days of side effects. Thus, your period came in three phases.
Phase one.
The days before your period, you had cravings and mood swings. The first day you felt it coming this time around, you and Tom had just finished dinner, and you were eagerly anticipating digging into your ice cream that was waiting for you in the freezer. Only it wasn’t there. You felt your jaw and your fists clench in anger. “Thomas,” you started, “where’s my ice cream?”
“Hmm?” Tom hummed from where he was loading the dishwasher.
“Where’s my ice cream?” you repeated, turning on your heel to face him. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
“You finished it two days ago,” he said.
“No I fucking did not,” you said. “I was specifically saving it for today.”
“Right,” Tom said slowly, “but then two nights ago, you got drunk and said to me, I was going to save this, but I’m gonna eat it now because -and I quote- fuck self control.”
“And you let me?” you snapped.
Tom scoffed and rolled his eyes. “Like I’m going to argue with drunk (Y/N) about whether or not she should eat her ice cream.” You groaned dramatically, slammed the freezer door shut, and stormed off to your room.
The next day, you were having a saltier craving. You were sitting in bed, watching an episode of New Girl, when you suddenly started to crave nachos. You pushed yourself out of bed and made your way to the kitchen, getting a plate from the cupboard and opening a bag of tortilla chips. When you opened the fridge to get some shredded cheese, you could feel your face grow hot in anger. “Are you fucking kidding me?” you mumbled to yourself. “This is easily the most frustrating fucking thing I’ve ever experienced.”
“What’s going on?” Tom asked from his spot on the couch.
“We don’t have any fucking shredded cheese!” you huffed. “How do we not have shredded fucking cheese?”
“Jesus Christ,” he chuckled.
“You’re going to wish Jesus Christ was here if we don’t get some shredded cheese in this house soon.”
The next day, on your way home from work, you stopped at the store to pick up some panty liners and chocolate. When you got home, you set the bag on the counter, the sound of rustling plastic peaking Tom’s interest. “What’d you get from the store?” he asked.
“Chocolate,” you said.
“Chocolate?” Tom repeated.
“For me,” you emphasized.
“Don’t you know sharing is caring?” he asked.
“Right,” you said. “Well, when you develop a uterus, consider my stash your stash.”
Phase two.
The next day, like clockwork, you woke up with an aching back, a nauseous stomach, and an immediate need to use the bathroom. This was the first part of the phase where your lack of significant other really put a damper on things. You were crabby, and all you wanted was to be held and cared for.
And after six months of living together, Tom finally started to notice your shift in mood during phase two. It wasn’t that he didn’t know you were on your period, and he wasn’t oblivious to the cranky stage that came before this one. But now, he was starting to realize just how upset you got during your period. Yes, you were still cranky, but you were also just down in the dumps. He never saw you cry, but then again, he never really saw you. You rarely left your room, but when you did, you had a permanent frown etched on your face.
Tom didn’t have any sisters, and none of his relationships had ever been serious enough that he saw a girlfriend through her periods. So, when it came to handling a girl when she was menstruating, he took advice from Harrison. After all, he had a sister. And Harrison told Tom to steer clear of you and give you space. So for that week each month, that’s what Tom did. But you were Tom’s best friend, and he loved you. Seeing you so upset and sitting back like it wasn’t happening was too difficult.
So this time around, Tom decided to change up the routine. You hadn’t come out for your ice cream yet, so he went to the freezer, got out your unopened pint of Ben and Jerry’s and a spoon, and made his way to your room. He knocked on the door, waited for your words of permission, and walked in. You had all the lights off and the shades drawn, so you were only illuminated by the TV screen where New Girl was playing. “Hey,” you mumbled. “Is my TV too loud?”
“No,” Tom said with a shake of his head. “No, I, uh, I brought you your ice cream.”
“Oh,” you said, surprise in your voice. “Thanks.”
“Yeah,” he said, walking over to your bed to hand it to you. “Do you want some company or anything?” Your eyebrows raised.
“Seriously?” you asked. The tips of Tom’s ears turned pink.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “I didn’t mean to bug you. I just thought-“
“No, no,” you said quickly. “I’m just surprised. You usually avoid me like the plague during this week.”
He chuckled awkwardly. “I guess I thought I was supposed to.”
“Let me guess,” you said with a grin. “Harrison?” Tom just smiled, so you patted the bed next to you, and he came to sit down, pulling the covers over his legs. You adjusted the hot pad on your back and relaxed again against the pillows. There was an awkward space between you and Tom, mostly because Tom didn’t want to overstep. It wasn’t that you guys didn’t cuddle, but he honest to god didn’t know how to approach you when you were on your period. What if he touched you and you just snapped?
But then he noticed how wiggly you were getting and opened his arms up. “Wanna cuddle?” he offered. You smiled gratefully and nodded, adjusting yourself again and cuddling up to his side.
“Sorry if my hot pad gets too warm,” you said.
“No worries,” he said, pulling you close to his side. “Whatever makes you feel better.” You nodded and nuzzled your cheek against his chest. Tom knew what kind of touches you liked best, so he moved his hand to the top of your head and started massaging your scalp and running your fingers through your hair. You hummed contently which made his heart feel warm.
“Thanks, Tommy,” you muttered. “I really needed this.”
“Of course, darling,” he whispered. “All you had to do was ask, and I’d be here.”
That was how you spent the rest of your free time during the week: cuddled up in bed with Tom watching New Girl. He made you dinner most days, and when he didn’t, it was because he ordered take out. 98-percent of you was thrilled, but then there were the other two. Being this close to Tom was fulfilling that desire you had for a significant other to be there for you, and it was messing with your head. You had been harboring a crush for Tom for as long as you had known him, but you had always been able to keep a lid on it. With him doing this for you, it was hard to stop yourself from bursting.
Phase three.
Your period was in the rear view mirror, but now came arguably the worst part. Because after your period, you were insanely horny. This time around, it was even worse. For that, you blamed Tom. And he may’ve been able to help during phase two, but no way were you going to ask him to help during phase three. No matter how badly you wanted to.
You got out of the shower and dried off, settling into clean sheets without putting on your pajamas. You kept the sheets off of you as you reached into your bedside drawer and pulled out your vibrator. It buzzed to life when you pressed the button, and you brought it straight to your nipples, running it over each of them until they were both hard. Then you trailed it down your stomach before pausing at your core. It was a rabbit, so it was made to stimulate your clit and your pussy at the same time. You were already clenching in anticipation as you teased yourself, letting the vibrator dance across your outer lips. Your thighs were slick with your juices, and you were able to slide the toy inside you with no problem.
Normally, you weren’t loud when you masturbated, but it took a lot to silence yourself. You often had your face buried in your pillow or your teeth biting harshly into your lower lip. That night, you were so far gone, keeping your moans quiet wasn’t exactly in the forefront of your mind. Your pussy was clenching the vibrator so tightly, and the vibrations were making your head hazy.
“Oh shit,” you breathed out. Every time you used the toy after a week of PMSing, you felt like you were in heaven. Sure, it was nothing compared to a real dick, but it sure did a damn good job at satisfying you.
You were sure Tom’s dick would be more satisfying though.
Then, you were picturing him railing into you, your face pressed against the mattress and his fingers leaving bruises on your hips. It wasn’t the first time you had thought about him while pleasuring yourself, but it was the first time his name left your lips while doing it.
“Tom,” you moaned. It wasn’t too loud, but you still forced your teeth to sink into your lower lip to stop it from happening again.
But the damage had already been done, because Tom walked right by your door when you said his name. He didn’t think anything of it, just assuming you heard him walking by and needed him for something. His light knock on the door caused your heart to race against your chest. You fumbled to get the covers over yourself but didn’t have time to turn off the vibrator before he came in. You gripped the sheets close to your chest and ignored the vibrator buzzing on the bed between your thighs. It was no longer inside you, but it was so close to your core that you were still feeling the shocks.
“What’s up?” you asked, praying you sounded chill.
“You called my name,” he said, leaning against the doorframe. You shook your head and frowned.
“No I didn’t,” you said. You knew you didn’t sound convincing. Tom furrowed his eyebrows but seemed amused.
“I swear you did,” he said. He opened his mouth to say something else, but closed it again when he heard something. “Is your phone going off?”
“What?” you said, feeling panic settling in your chest. “No.”
“Are you sure?” he said, patting his own pants pockets. “I hear something vibrating.”
“Nope,” you said, then laughed awkwardly. “You must be hearing things, Holland.”
Tom could tell you were hiding something, and he liked how flustered you seemed. It was funny to him. He took a few steps closer to you, and your body froze. “What are you doing?” you asked, hoping he didn’t notice your voice shake.
He laughed. “What is up with you?”
“Nothing!” you said. “Can’t you just go?”
“You’re hiding something,” he said. “And I only know one way to get you to spill.”
Your eyes grew wide at what he was insinuating. “No,” you said, shaking your head. “No, Tom, don’t.” He ignored you and jumped on the bed, gripping your hips over the sheets and tickling you. “Tom!” you said, trying to wiggle away from him while still keeping your body covered.
And then, he felt it.
The vibrator buzzed against his knee causing him to stop his actions in their tracks. You were mortified. Tom didn’t look at you. Instead, he looked down at his knee as if trying to stare through the sheet to see the toy in question. You didn’t know what to say. You were busted. There was no way around it. How were you going to talk your way out of this one?
What you hadn’t expected was for Tom to grab your sheet and pull it off your body. You were frozen in shock as you watched him. His eyes were still fixated on the vibrator, now noticing that it was covered in your slick. When he finally looked at you, you realized his pupils were so blown that his eyes looked black. You were waiting for him to say something or even leave the room in disgust. Instead, Tom picked up your vibrator and turned it over in his hands, not at all seeming to mind that it was wet.
“Do you think of me a lot when you do this?”
You opened your mouth and closed it again, and Tom surprised you by pressing the vibrator against your clit. A choked out moan passed your lips and your hips lifted. “Answer me,” he said.
“Yes,” you cried. “Yes, I do, Tom.” He pulled the vibrator away, and you whined at the feeling. He looked up at you again, and you felt embarrassed tears come to your eyes as you closed your legs and covered your chest with your arms. “I’m so sorry,” you said. “Please, please just go, and I’ll never-“
“Open your legs.”
Your eyes widened as you tried to process what he said. You looked at him and saw he was staring at your body.
“What?” you said. Tom lifted his head to look in your eyes, and his expression softened.
“You tell me you don’t want my help,” he said, “and I’ll go. But-“ He cut himself off, needing to clear his throat to stop his voice from cracking. “-fuck, let me help you.”
Instead of answering him with words, you moved your hands from your chest and spread your legs apart. Tom wasted no time situating himself between your legs, your vibrator still in his hand. He licked his lips before bringing the toy to your cunt, pushing it inside you inch by inch. His mouth watered at how eager your pussy was to take the vibrator, and he imagined how tightly you’d squeeze his cock.
The smaller part of the vibrator pressed against your clit every time Tom pushed the toy inside you. He worked it slowly, and you were writhing on the bed above him. You both jumped when his finger hit one of the buttons, and the vibration setting changed. “How many different vibrations are there?” he asked you, not taking his eyes off your cunt.
“Uh, huh, 30,” you stuttered.
“30,” Tom repeated, like he was testing the number on his lips. “‘S a lot.”
“Mhm,” you hummed.
“You use them all?” he asked.
“Not all the time,” you managed to say. He pulled the toy out of you until just the tip was inside. You whined and tried to lift your hips, but he put his arm across your stomach to stop you. He pressed the button again, trying out another vibration. He kept clicking until he stopped on one whose pattern and intensity intrigued him.
“You like this one?” he asked. He sounded genuinely curious, but you were too focused on the fact that Tom was holding a vibrator against your cunt to answer him in any significant way.
“I like them all,” you said. Your eyes were closed, so you couldn’t see the smirk that danced across Tom’s lips. He thrust the toy inside you causing you to cry out in pleasure. Every time he pulled it away and the small part left your clit, you wanted to beg him to put it back. He always did. His thrusts were slow but rough, pounding the toy inside you so it hit the right spots each time.
When you could feel yourself getting close to the edge, you bit your lip to stop yourself from saying something you might regret. Tom noticed.
“Wanna hear you say it,” he muttered, pulling the toy away from where you wanted it most. You forced your eyes open to see Tom was biting his lower lip. His pupils were still blown, but his expression was soft, almost vulnerable. How was he the vulnerable one right then?
You knew what he wanted, and when he pushed the toy back inside you, his name fell from your lips. With a few more thrusts, you were cumming. You grabbed Tom’s hand and forced him to keep the toy in place, the vibrations destroying your clit in the best way possible. Your moans were so wrecked, and the way you called Tom’s name like a prayer made his already hard dick throb in his sweats.
When he pulled the toy out of you, he noticed the way your pussy clenched around nothing. He shut the toy off, and you kept your eyes closed, trying to catch your breath. You were so focused on coming down from your high that you shrieked when you felt Tom’s mouth on your core. “Tommy,” you moaned, gripping his hair in your hands. He lapped up your cunt, savoring each drop of your cum like he wouldn’t let any of it go to waste. He could tell by how you wanted him to use the toy that you needed clit stimulation, so he gave you that. He rolled your clit with his tongue, pressing down on it with just the right amount of pressure. Your thighs started squeezing his head, but he held them apart, growling in warning against your cunt. You cried out, begging him for something you couldn’t quite word. Whatever it was, he somehow knew, because he had you cumming again in just the right number of minutes. He let you savor it; he didn’t rush it.
You looked down at him when he pulled away, and you noticed his lips were coated in your orgasm. You smiled in embarrassment as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. He surprised you when he started kissing up your body. His lips stopped at your jaw, and he pulled back to look in your eyes. You stared at each other for a few moments before you both moved a fraction closer to each other to close the space between you in a kiss. It wasn’t as desperate and needy as you expected it to be, and you hoped and prayed that this meant something to Tom like it did to you. He broke the kiss and pressed his forehead to yours. “You say the word and I’m done,” he said. “No pressure. No obligation. No-“
You cut him off. “Fuck me, Tom.” The corner of his lip raised into his cheeky smirk, and he kissed you again. You’d be lying if you said you weren’t surprised by the affectionate action, but you loved it. You kissed him back, wrapping your legs around his waist and rubbing your core against the bulge in his pants. You gripped his t-shirt in your fists and tugged it up his body until he pulled away and yanked it over his head, tossing it to the side. He sat back on his heels and tugged his sweats and boxers down at the same time, moving around to take them off completely. His dick was even better than you imagined it might be. He was the perfect length, and he was thick, the tip red and already leaking precum.
“Shit,” Tom muttered. “Do you have a condom?”
You sighed. “No.”
“Alright,” he said. “I’ve got some in my room.”
“Mm, okay,” you hummed, pressing your thighs together. “Hurry back.” You moved your hand slowly down your stomach, then traced up and down your thighs. You swore you’d never seen someone move as quickly as Tom did then, jumping off your bed and rushing out the door. When he came back, he already had the condom packet open, which made you giggle. He grinned and got back on the bed, rolling the condom on his length with a satisfied sigh. You thought he would push into you right away, but instead, he brought his lips down to yours again. He didn’t quite let them press together, just hovered over your lips before kissing across your cheek and to your ear.
“Tell me, love,” he said. “What do you think about when you think of me?”
Your breath caught in your throat as he lined himself up, letting the tip of his cock brush against your clit. “Ah, fuck,” you breathed out. “Hard and fast. Choking me. Pulling my hair. Fuck-” Tom thrust into you without warning, giving you no time to adjust before pounding into you. He watched your eyes roll to the back of your head as your mouth gaped open. Your head almost hit the headboard with the force he was fucking you, and the room was full of your moans and slapping skin.
Tom surprised you when he pulled out of you so he could turn you over and slam into you from behind. He pulled you up by your hair so your back was arched, and you cried out in pleasure. “Yes,” you screamed. “Just like that, Tom. Fuck!” He pulled you up even more so your back was flush to his chest, and he moved his hand from your hair to your throat.
Again, better than you imagined.
He cut off your airflow just enough to make your head feel hazy. “You like that?” he muttered in your ear. “Fuck, you’re squeezing my cock so tight, you must love it.”
“Tom,” you gasped out.
“You gonna cum for me, darling?” he asked. You nodded as much as you could, and Tom pressed a little tighter against your neck. “Cum for me. Cum all over my cock.” You moaned, your voice cracking as you did so. “Fuck, yes,” Tom said as you milked his cock. “‘M gonna cum. Oh fuck.” With a few more thrusts, Tom spilled into the condom, his hips stuttering as he finished. He pulled out of you as you collapsed onto the bed with a sigh. You laid in bed, your eyes closed, as Tom fell beside you. He took off the condom and tied it off before throwing it in the trash beside your bed. You were both breathing heavily, and neither of you knew what to say or who should speak first.
“Wow,” you finally said.
Tom chuckled. “Yeah. Wow.” You turned your head to look at him, and he did the same. Tom licked his lips and darted his eyes between yours. “So, what, um-” He hesitated. “What do we do now?” You swallowed thickly and stared up at the ceiling again. This was it. This was when you had to lie and say it was just sex, because you were sure that was what he would want.
Tom seemed to read your mind. “Maybe this isn’t the right time to say this,” he said, “but I really like you, (Y/N).” You looked at him again and saw how small and nervous his smile was. “You’re my best friend, but, but I’ve felt more than best friend feelings for you for a long time now.” You turned on your side and faced him.
“Really?” you asked, reaching over to stroke his cheek with the back of your hand.
He chuckled and mirrored your position. “Yeah, love. Really.” You smiled and leaned over, pressing a kiss to his lips. When you pulled away, you were still smiling.
“I feel the same,” you said. He smiled and turned you over so you were on your back and he was hovering over you again. He peppered kisses all over your face until you were a giggling mess under him. “You’re so weird,” you said. “How can you go from choking me to this in a matter of minutes?” Tom’s expression shifted a bit, and he brushed his fingers lightly across your neck.
“That was okay?” he asked.
“Mhm,” you hummed. “More than okay.” You tangled your fingers in his hair and pulled him close to you again. “Just so you’re prepared, my sex drive after shark week is always crazy high. And choking-” You brushed your lips across his. “-that’s just the beginning of what I’m into.”

Chimichangas
A/N: This is my first time writing a fanfic. I am super nervous but I have an overabundance of love for Joaquin Torres so I had to put it somewhere. I'm doing @caplanbuckybarnes's summer writing challenge.
Summary: Falling in love at the supermarket wasn’t on your to-do list today, yet here you were snatching looks at a cute stranger.
Warnings: (I don't know if these count as warnings) GN!Reader, No Y/N, Joaquin Torres is an absolute cutie pie!
‘They were gone. All of them.’ I thought as I rummaged through the wrongfully stocked freezer. A sniffle escaped, then two, which was followed by a full on wail.
“Who the hell put the Steak and Cheese chimichangas where the Chicken and Cheese chimichangas goes!?”
I slammed the freezer door and rested my head on it and placed my hand on the cold glass.
Casual shoppers and workers tiptoed around me while I grumbled to myself in annoyance. I just wanted my comfort food.
A full on breakdown in the middle of a grocery store and I gave no fucks. A tap on my shoulder and I whirled around ready to light up the poor soul who decided to bother me.
“What do you want?” I wiped the tears from my face with a growl. Giant innocent eyes looked at me in shock as I grimaced at him.
“Hi - um, can I help you?” He bravely pointed at his name tag which said ‘Joaquin’ with the Walmart name above
“Sure~ can you just point me towards the person who decided to sleep on the job and stock the wrong chimichangas in the wrong spot? I just wanna have a little chat.” I said with a fake smile on my face.
“Th-that would be me.” He gulped and pointed over his shoulder towards the stocking material behind him.
You peeked around him and just glared.
“So it was you. You have been declared as my arch nemesis. Where are the chicken and cheese chimichangas?”
“They are out of stock. But we can call you when they are back in stock.”
The air suddenly became tense.
“...Believe it or not, they already have my number because I buy them so often. It is Tuesday and it’s 8:30. They are always stocked at 8pm on Tuesday.” I looked down at my watch to double check the time. I crossed my arms ready to take my frustrations out on the worker.
“We are going to have to call some people.” He said plainly.
“What?” My head tilted to the side in confusion.
“For this chimichanga shortage. We need to call some people.” His smile got bigger as he continued talking.
“Chimi..changa shortage? If they are going to fix my day then you better call them.”
“I’m kidding..”
“Oh.” I let out a nervous laugh and made a face.
He ran a hand through his fluffy black curls and huffed. I took a look at his face, he was nervous.
“...Are you new?” You raised an eyebrow at him.
“To the stock things department, yes. This grocery store, no. I’m so sorry that I stocked it wrong but thank you for pointing it out for me.”
I immediately felt bad because I realized that I was being a dick over some food.
“I’m so sorry. I’m just having a bad day. It was just a complete shit show. My cat got sick, my car is on it’s last leg and my boss is on my ass and I ran out of chimichangas and forgot to restock my fridge so here I am today - “
I rambled on and on.
“Hey, it’s okay. We all have bad days. I thought this was about to be a bad day for me also because you were upset at me.”
“I’m sorry again. I’ll live without them. I should go home before I embarrass myself even more.”
I lowered my head now feeling shy and more aware of my surroundings.
“Before you go, I think I have something that will make your day a little better. Follow me.” He turned swiftly and started walking away.
“Uh, no. I’ve burdened you enough today, sir.”
He stopped and turned to face me again. A smile formed on his face. Were those dimples always there?
“Come on. I’m just taking you to a person who can solve your problems.”
“Oh o-okay.”
I followed behind Joaquin towards the front of the grocery store. He stopped in front of the deli section and tapped a hand on the counter to alert the workers.
“Hey~ is Margie in today?” He said sweetly to the teenage girl who could barely see over the huge counter.
“Yeah Curly, she’s in the back. Let me go get her.” She ran to the back and pushed the double doors with force.
I looked at Joaquin with furrowed brows and pursed lips.
“Why do they call you Curly?” A small smirk appeared on my face. He blushed and his hand went to his hair once again.
“My hair. It is how everyone finds me and the fact that I’m tall. Everyone has a nickname here. We are as much a family as capitalism will allow us to be. Margie is just...wait until you see her.”
The shock of blue hair caught my peripheral and I expected to see a teenager. No. A tall lady who was on enough to be my mama strolled up to the counter with a huge smile on her face.
“What can I do for ya, Curly Quin?” Her accent drawled as she leaned against the display case.
“We have a situation. Apparently, I suck at my job and a certain someone had an entire meltdown in the middle of the freezer aisle because they are having a bad day like it was my fault. I’m pretty sure they want to get me fired but I’m too cute for that, right? So we need a solution to their chimichanga problem.” He sarcastically and over exaggeratedly explained the situation to Margie and his smile got wider as he went on.
“So Grilled Cheese over here wants a chimichanga? How is that my problem?” Margie planted her eyes on me and I felt like I swallowed my heart.
For an old lady, her look was intense.
“I need the goods. The family secret, the whole enchilada, you get where I’m going with this. I’ll finally bring you back your book that you let me borrow when I first started working here.” Joaquin slapped on the puppy dog eyes and Margie rolled hers.
“I’ll believe it when I see it. That was a year ago. I’m never getting that book back and you know it. I’ll be back for you and Meltdown over here, assuming that is you.” She gave a small smile and moved to go towards the back doors. “Give me a sec.”
As soon as she disappeared, I face palmed and groaned.
“You guys are going to make fun of me forever, aren’t you?” I looked at him in despair.
“Oh yeah, you know it. Welcome to making history.” He smiled towards me, flashing a dimple.
“Is there a way that I can make everyone forget about this? I will pay you guys off. I promise. Just forget everything that happened here today.” I waved my hands in circular motions like I was casting a spell, earning odd looks from everyone around.
He laughed for the first time that night.
“It’s not every day a grown up has a total fit like a toddler. This has made my day and probably my whole week.”
I groaned again and stomped my foot in annoyance, ready to snap at him.
The back doors flew open and a brown paper bag was thrown in my direction. Joaquin and I fumbled to catch it at the same time and we butted heads.
“Good thing you knocked some sense into each other so I didn’t have to. Get out of here kids, your chimichanga problem is solved.” Margie smiled.
I opened the steaming paper bag and started crying.
“Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.” I started bouncing up and down with joy. I wrapped my arms around Joaquin and pulled him into a tight hug, crying on his shirt.
“No problem, I can’t breathe, please..let..go..” He said dramatically.
I immediately let go and cleaned my face putting on a huge smile. He took a deep breath and put his hand on his chest.
“You guys are the best and I am so sorry for taking my frustrations out on you. I really hope you can forgive me at some point.”
“Already forgiven. I just always want to do something positive with my day and make others smile. It’s all in a day’s work.”
“I don’t know how to thank you guys enough for the chimichangas.” I held the bag close to my heart, grinning widely.
“Go home and eat them. That’s thanks enough.” Margie deadpanned.
Oh. She was still there.
“Yes ma’am. Have a good night. Thank you for everything!” I waved goodbye to her.
“Don’t mention it kid.”
“I’ll see you tomorrow Margie!” He said to her.
She waved us off and we were on our way to the front doors of the store. We stopped just before the entrance, triggering the doors to automatically open. We were blocking the exit and people started going around us.
“I guess this is goodbye? Until I come in to restock my freezer again.” I said glumly, holding out my hand towards him to shake his hand.
“I guess so.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, placing it in my hand.
Question marks filled my brain as I looked down at his phone in my hand. He shyly placed his hand on the back of his neck.
“I told you whenever we restocked, I would give you a call so.. I would need your number for that.”
“Oh. But they already have my numb- Oh. Okay. Oh. Oh um, of course uh..”
I stuck my tongue out in concentration as I typed my name and number into his phone and handed it back to him.
“There you go. I uh, look forward to your call for whenever the chimichangas are back in stock.”
“Of course. I’m just doing my job. If they aren’t in stock and I’m off of work, can I still call you?”
My brain short circuited and I blinked rapidly at him. He was smooth. Toooo smooth. I studied his face for a joke.
“You aren’t joking with me, are you?” I put my hands on my hips.
“Nope, not one bit. Are you okay?” He questioned. I was sure smoke was coming out of my ears at this point.
“Uh, yeah. I’m fine. Just tired, it’s been a long day. I should get going.” I looked off towards the cars in the parking lot.
“It was nice to meet you. I’m sorry about your chimichangas and for my poor stocking skills.” He apologized sincerely.
“It was nice to meet you too, Joaquin. Thank you for everything. Am I allowed to hug you again?”
His brown eyes lit up and he furiously nodded. I wrapped my arms around him and he did the same to me. We let go as quickly as we started.
“I’ll see you around, Grilled Cheese.” He gave a two finger wave towards me and started walking backwards.
“Likewise, Joaquin Phoenix.” I started walking in the other direction.
“Haha. So original! It’s actually Falcon!” He shouted.
“What?” I stopped and turned back towards him but he was already gone.
I shrugged and walked towards my car. I opened the door and climbed inside, tossed the bag of chimichangas in the passenger seat and rested my head on the steering wheel. I released a huge sigh while lifting my head, started my car and began driving home. The street lights blurred past me on my drive home. My body was on autopilot as I opened the door, kicked my shoes off and sat on the couch next to my roommate with my bag of chimichangas.
I took a bite and immediately frowned.
‘Damn it. Steak and Cheese strikes again.’ I started laughing and shaking my head, dropping the chimichanga back in the bag.
“What is your problem?” My roommate said staring at the tv, not concerned to turn their head towards my hysterics.
“Nothing. I just had a meltdown in a freezer aisle and I think I fell in love with a stocker who is bad at his job.” I leaned back against the cushion of the couch and sighed dreamily.
“....no offense but you aren’t allowed to go to the store unsupervised ever again. You got issues...”
My phone began to ring and I just stared at the unknown number before answering.
“H-hello?” I stuttered.
“You will never guess what we just got in stock.” A light voice filled with laughter said over the phone. A huge smile formed on my face and I was booking it out of the door and yelled a quick bye to my roommate.
“I’m on my way.”
I hope you guys enjoyed this. I tried my best :)

Marie patiently waited for her friend to respond to her message. If anyone can help make things better it was her best friend.
Tumblr media
Jenny squeals as soon as she swings the door open, really finding her best friend standing before her with a new look.
“Marie, how is it possible for you to look like a thousand times better in person?” Jenny hugs her tightly, gently pulling at the ends of her hair, not knowing if she really just a chopped off a good amount of her hair.
“You can stop pulling my hair. I really did cut it.” She laughs at her friend. “Are you gonna let me in? The champagne is waiting.”
Jenny releases her, pushing her to arms length, really taking in her friends new look. Skin tight black pleather pants paired with black Louboutin pumps, a revenge red colored crop top and her newly cut hair.
Jenny drags her by the hand and leads them into the apartment, slamming the door behind them.
“Don’t kill me Marie, but you didn’t happen to bring any orange juice?” Jenny asks, making her way across the island.
Marie shakes her head at her best friend, she wasn’t surprised Jenny didn’t have anything in her apartment. She had been the one who would stock up the fridge and cabinets with food. If it had been up to Jenny, they would only have vodka in the freezer. One she would bet a good amount of money on that being the only thing in the freezer right now.
“Jenny, do you at least have something to nibble on while we drink?” Marie asks.
She places the two bottles of champagne down on the counter, watching Jenny open and close the cabinets, then moves to the fridge.
“Here put this one in the fridge while I open this one. We’ll just order something to be delivered.” She tells Jenny, handing her one of the bottles.
“I have apples.. well an apple.” Jenny points to her sad looking fruit basket.
“One that seems to be well past being edible. it’s beginning to shrivel up.”
The popping sound of the cork makes Jenny jump, pulling out two glasses and handing them to Marie. After pouring and ordering some food, Marie kicks off her heels and takes her usual spot on the sofa, when one of them is going through a breakup, tucking one leg under the other. Jenny takes the opposite side of the sofa.
“What do we toast too?” Jenny asks.
“The future.”
Marie raises her glass to meet her friends, clinking their glasses together. Jenny eyes her with some concern, wondering what her friend had been through in the last twelve hours or so.
“To the future.”
Jenny takes a good drink of the champagne, while Marie tosses her full glass back, the bubbles tickling the back of her throat, leaving it empty and reaching for the bottle to pour more.
“So Marie, what the hell happened? Wasn’t everything going well between you two?” Jenny asks while tapping her well manicured nails on the fluted glass, impatiently waiting for her to answer.
“Is this situation fit for just drinking champagne? Or do I pull out the Vodka from the freezer?”
“It’s a start. It’ll get the job done.” She gives Jenny a wide grin. “Like I told you, it’s over between me and Sam.”
“How? Why?” Jenny sits up a bit straighter, again waiting for an explanation.
“Sam caught me kissing Jordan.” Marie tosses another glass back. “No.. No..” She wiggles her finger at Jenny “Sam walked in on Jordan kissing me.”
“Why would Jordan do that?”
“He confessed he has feeling for me.”
“No!” Jenny mouths drops open at the revelation.
Marie just nods her head. Last night coming back to her, making her head spin. “That’s not all, he told me Sam was seeing Lana behind my back.”
“That uptight blonde from the house warming party, the mother of one of Mason’s friends?” Jenny asks.
“The one and the same.”
“I’m gonna need you to start from the beginning and everything in between that led you to..to this new look and you chugging champagne like its grape juice.” Her friend said.
Taking a deep breath, Marie began the events of last night from Jordan surprising her at work to him telling her how he feels about her. The moment Sam walked in on them, him storming out, not waiting to hear an explanation of what he saw. It felt like she had been talking for hours, the one break Marie took was to get the other bottle of champagne while Jenny got the food they ordered.
“You need to try this hash..it's amazing.” Jenny hands her the container, as she takes the one Marie had in her hands.
“He just walked away. Left me there standing like a fool. All because he wants space. Because I believe or believed he would cheat on me. But look at how we started, Jen. He was engaged.” Taking a spoonful of the corned beef hash, the different textures from soft to crispy pieces to the exploding flavors of the salty, spiced and sour make her moan in agreement with Jenny.
“Sweetie, don’t get mad at me but.. are you sure he wanted to end things?”
Marie notices a shift in her friend, shaking her head at Jenny. She played Sam’s words again and again last night.
“I’m positive. He wanted to slow things down, wanted space. As far as I know we’re done.”
Jenny stayed silent.
“You don’t understand, wanting to slow things down from a relationship in the dark, a relationship a handful of people knew about. That’s what he meant Jen.” Marie snaps at her.
“Ok.”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to..” Marie trails off.
“Don’t worry about it. Besides I got something, that always works.”
The look that appeared on Jenny’s face was a mischievous one, one she knew all too familiar, it was the same one she would give her when Jenny was going through a rough time with a guy.
Getting up from the sofa she walks away, coming back in a few seconds with a full bottle of vodka. She grabs her phone, connecting it to the sound system.
Marie hid her face in the palms of the hands, knowing what was about to come. “Oh no!! no..no..no!” She shook her head.
“yes…yes.. yes” Jenny begins to dance before the music starts. “Come on Marie, this song has gotten us..ok mostly me through breakups.”
The beat of Alanis Morissette’s ‘You oughta Know’ fills the apartment..
An older version of me
Is she perverted like me
Would she go down on you in a theater
Marie began bobbing her head to the beat as the song went on, until she jumps up and stands on top of the couch with Jenny, the both of them singing at the top of their lungs.
And every time I scratch
My nails down someone else’s
Back I hope you feel it
Well can you feel it
Well I’m here to remind you
Of the mess you left when
You went away…You
You..oughta know
As the song comes to an end, adrenaline runs through Marie, ok mostly the alcohol they had been drinking. But at this point it’s what she needed to get every feeling out of her system. Jenny’s breakup playlist continues to play and after finishing the second bottle of champagne, they made it to the bottle of vodka
They didn’t care how loud they were singing or the noise they made from dancing and the things that hit the floor after bumping into them. It was something they did, two best friends trying to help the other navigate through this moment in life.
“There’s a song.. a song.. I want to add..add..yeah” The words coming out of Marie’s mouth a bit slurred.
She grabbed the phone from the coffee table, trying to focus on searching for the song. Swaying back and forth, she jumped with drunken glee once having found it. The Marachi/Cumbia infused ballad came through the speakers, her hips moving to the Cumbia beat.
“Yass.. Get it girl.” Jenny encouraged her as she sat down, taking a little breather.
Marie did her best Selena impression, twisting and doing flamenco moves. She began singing.
Yo, Te di todo mi amor y más
(I gave you all my love and more)
Y tú, No reconoces ni lo que es amar
(And you won’t recognize what it is to love)
Si una vez dije que te amaba, hoy me arrepiento
(If I told you once that I loved you. Today, I regret it)
Si una vez dije que te amaba, no sé lo que pensé, estaba loca
(If I told you once that I loved you. I don’t know what I was thinking, I must’ve been crazy)
Si una vez dije que te amaba
(If I told you that I loved you)
Y que por ti la vida daba
(And that I’d give my life for you)
Si una vez dije que te amaba, no lo vuelvo a hacer
(If I told you that I’d loved you. I won’t do it again)
Ese error es cosa de ayer
(It was an error that was made in the past)
Jenny cheered her on until the end, not knowing what her best friend just sang and danced her heart out too.
After a moment of trying to catch her breath, she watched as Marie fell to her knees and began crying, her body shaking as it released every emotion she had bottled up. The act of trying to be strong came crashing down around her. She went to her and hugged her, whispering that it’ll all be ok.
******
Once she had sobered up somewhat, Marie called an Uber to take her back home, against Jenny’s best efforts to try and make her stay. They had come to an agreement of her moving back in. She wasn’t going to live in a place Sam was paying for besides she couldn’t afford the rent on her salary.
Making her way to her apartment, her vision a bit impaired, she fumbled through her bag for the keys, jingling as they fell to the floor.
“Shit.”
Bending down to get them, she stumbles a bit to the side, balancing herself against the wall before she could trip and fall over her own feet. The vodka and champagne still running through her system, she could make it, once she got up it was only a few more steps, she told herself.
Marie noticed a pair of shoes making their way towards her, her gaze began to travel until they stopped on grey eyes, his lips a thin line. He was reaching down to help her.
“I don’t need your help!” She put a hand out, stopping him before he could touch her. “What the hell are you doing here?”
“Come on Marie, let me help you up.” Sam voiced calmly but filled with a bit of concern for her well being. “How did you get here? How much have you had to drink? And your hair, it looks..”
“What’s it to you? I’m a bit more sober then I was earlier. I’m perfectly..perfectly fine.”
Marie stood up too quickly and stumbled, she felt Sam wrap an arm around her waist, supporting her weight against his body. Grabbing her keys, he leads them into her apartment.
“Just stand there for a moment while I lock the door. I’ll take you to bed..I mean..uh help you into bed.”
“I’m fine Sam, I’m inside this beautiful penthouse you got for your mistress.” She twirls around, showing him the space around her. “So, you can see your way out. You can stand on the other side of the door to make sure it gets locks.” Marie hiccups, maybe she wasn’t as sober as she thought.
“I’m not going anywhere until I know you’re ok.”
Sam makes his way past her, grabbing her by the wrist and leading her towards the bedroom. Letting her go, he begins tossing pillows off the bed keeping just two. He pulls back the comforter to allow her to crawl in.
“Oh that’s real nice of you Mr. Dalton. Do you do that for all your employees?” Marie asked staring at him as he reaches for her.
“Get into bed, you need to sleep your over-indulgence off. I’ll be here when you wake.”
Marie starts to undress, pulling her top over her head.
“What are you doing?” The words coming out as a raspy whisper from Sam.
Marie stares at the man that left her. She was going to show him what he was going to miss. She began by taking off the heels that had been killing her since putting them back on. She unbuttoned and unzipped her pants, slowly lowering them and stepping out of them. Marie stood there in a see through black lace bralette and matching thong.
She could feel Sam’s burning gaze taking her in. She heard his breathing hitch and a smile came across her lips.
“I’m just getting ready for bed, Mr. Dalton. Just like you said.” She says coyly.
Walking pass him, running her finger tips across his chest. She climbs into bed, the softness of her sheets envelope her semi-naked body.
As she begins to doze off, the side of the bed shifts under her. “What are you doing here?” She asked him again.
She didn’t hear Sam respond, so she kept going.
“You shouldn’t be here. It’s over between us.” She yawns as her eyes begin too close. “Sam? Are you still here?”
Marie could feel her back pressing against the side of his leg. Sam caresses the newly cut strands of her hair.
“I’m still here. I’m not going anywhere..” He whispered.
“Can you do one last thing for me?”
“Whatever it is, I’ll do it Marie..I’m sorr..”
“Don’t fire Jordan.” She said before her eyelids became too heavy to keep open and slips into a deep slumber.

Secret Love Part 25 (Finale) || Cale Makar
Tumblr media
Requested: [ ] yes [x] no
Authors Note: This series has been the most fun thing to write ever and I’m so grateful to everyone that has joined me on this journey. I really really really hope you like how I decided to wrap this chapter of their lives and I hope you’ll join me in the sequel to explore more adventures. I love you all and can’t wait to hear the screams that I’m certain are soon to follow this post.
Warnings: cursing
Word Count: 2,199 [Series total: ~74.8k]
~~~~~~~~
A Look-back at how we started:
“Sara’s pregnant.”
No sentence had ever made you feel anger, fear, disbelief, sadness and a whole bevy of other emotions quite as quickly as that one did. You wanted to scream and you wanted to cry. Instead, you put a mask over your expressions and just took the glass of wine Laura was offering as she filled hers to the brim.
“What?” You whispered, your voice cracking slightly.
“Cale called me today…he was so obviously nervous and before I could even ask what was wrong he was rambling on about how she was pregnant and he didn’t know what to do…” You could see the disappointment on Laura’s face and you attempted to send her a reassuring smile, though you were sure she noticed how forced it seemed. Swirling your wine in your glass, you thought about all of the reasons this news bothered you, making you almost sick to your stomach.
Now onto the finale:
“Y/N’s pregnant.”
Leaning against the doorway to your shared bedroom, you felt a smile spread across your face as your boyfriend spilled the news out of frustration, a response to his mother’s unnecessary concern.
“What?” Laura whispered, her voice cracking. The expression on her face was one of shock and awe as she just stared at Cale. Shivering as a chill ran up your spine, you turned to adjust the thermostat, cranking up the heat to ward off the mid-November chill.
++
Cale’s parents had arrived in Denver yesterday afternoon and though you’d had dinner with them, neither you nor Cale were sure whether or how to share everything that had changed since you’d seen them last. You’d mentioned that the two of you were thinking about buying a house here which had been met with some confusion but otherwise you kept things fairly light conversation wise. A part of you had expected Laura to question you not drinking, but when she hadn’t said anything you assumed she hadn’t picked up on it at all.
When you’d crawled into bed last night, you and Cale had still been undecided on whether to share the news yet but when you woke up this morning, it seemed like hiding probably wasn’t going to be an option. Of course, though you rarely experienced morning sickness, today of all days it had to hit you like a truck. Cale had been the doting father-to-be that he always was, holding your hair back and massaging your lower back gently. When the nausea didn’t begin to ebb like it normally did, he’d called your coworker to move all of your appointments for the day before settling you back into bed with some tea, crackers, and a wastebasket. Only with your insistence that you would be fine did he head off to practice, leaving you to doze off again.
You’d woken up a couple hours later to Cale perched on the side of the bed, his fingers dragging lightly over your stomach.
“You feeling any better?” He’d questioned, concern flickering across his face. “Think maybe you could use something to eat?”
Stretching, you sat up just a little, testing out how your stomach would react to the movement. It didn’t twist or turn like it had earlier and you let out a breath of relief, reaching out to pull Cale into a quick kiss.
“Heat me up some of the leftover soup from the freezer?” You requested. You knew Laura and Gary were coming over to spend the afternoon with the two of you, but you were fairly certain that your stomach would be unable to handle whatever lunch they brought.
“Course sweetheart.” Cale agreed, leaving you to slowly make your way up and out of bed.
The minute she’d walked through the door, you heard Laura question Cale about why he was cooking when he knew that they were bringing lunch.
“Because Y/N wants soup.” Cale replied, pulling the defrosted soup from the microwave so that he could dump it into a pot to finish warming.
Laura had expressed her confusion stating that you and Cale had both known that they were bringing one of your favorites.
“Mom...she wasn’t feeling well this morning okay.” He sighed. “Soup is easy on the stomach, that is not.”
“Is she sick? Cale why didn’t you tell us? If she’s not feeling well we can go find something else to do.” Laura had pressed.
“She’s fine now.” Cale replied, his voice gaining a little bit of an edge that signaled his annoyance.
“Seriously Cale, if Y/N isn’t feeling well she should be resting, not having to worry about entertaining us.” Laura continued.
“Mom. Relax.” Cale declared. Immediately Laura started speaking again and the next words out of his mouth were the ones you’d been hiding.
++
With the silence starting to become uncomfortable in the kitchen, you made your way out from your spot in the doorway, nestling up to Cale’s side as he stared at his mom. Your sudden presence seemed to startle Laura and Gary and they ran their eyes back and forth between you and their son.
“You’re pregnant?” Laura questioned, tears welling in her eyes. Nodding, you took a step back to pull the ultrasound photos out from the magnet on the side of the fridge. Setting them down in front of her, you pecked Cale’s cheek, before turning to adjust the temperature on your soup so that it didn’t burn.
“How do you feel about being a grandma?” You questioned after a moment, laughing as she launched herself around the kitchen island, pulling you into a hug.
“You’re pregnant. You’re really pregnant.” She choked out in disbelief.
“Yeah mom. I’m pregnant.” You stated.
“Oh my lord.” Laura breathed and when she pulled away you could see the tears streaming down her cheeks. “This wasn’t planned was it?” She questioned, her slight confusion returning.
“No, it wasn’t planned.” Cale voiced from behind you.
“But you’re happy?” She confirmed, looking past you to her son.
“We’re so happy.” Cale assured her. “Best surprise ever.”
The way he looked at you sent you back to the night he was referring to a month ago.
++
Cale had been away on one of the first roadtrips of the season when you’d found out the news.
With moving and then trying to get settled in in your new home, you’d forgotten you were due for your birth control shot. Finding a local clinic, you made an appointment to go down and get it taken care of. You’d submitted to the requested urine test not thinking anything of it. It wasn’t until a nurse came into your room informing you that they couldn’t give you the shot that anything at all seemed out of place.
“Wait...what do you mean? Why can’t you give me the shot?” You remembered asking.
When she’d explained that she couldn’t give you the shot because you were pregnant, your jaw had dropped, your hand drifting down to your stomach. And though you didn’t think they had lied, you took the paperwork the nurse offered you before rushing to the nearest pharmacy where you’d purchased three different pregnancy tests.
An hour later you were sitting on the bathroom floor staring at various phrases or symbols all signalling that you were definitely expecting - ‘3+ weeks’ one test in particular read.
You knew you couldn’t be much further along than that, you’d gotten your period shortly after arriving in Denver. You were certain of that because you’d forgotten to pack anything and Cale had had to run to the store on his way home from camp.
Though your initial reaction beyond disbelief was joy, you were worried about how Cale would take the news. You’d only been together for 5 months and while he’d expressed that he’d be open to having kids if the situation was right...you just didn’t know.
It had taken you almost 24 hours to come to the conclusion that you just had to trust that Cale would be as happy as you were. This baby was part of both of you and it wasn’t like things between you were anything but good. Knowing that Cale would be home the following night, you set to work on figuring out how to tell him. Heading out to the store you found a retro looking Avalanche sleeper. You’d stopped into a second hand book store while you were out, looking more for something for you to read than anything else but you’d stumbled upon the children’s book ‘goodnight hockey’ and it seemed like the perfect addition to the little package you were putting together.
Wrapping up the sleeper and book with one of the pregnancy tests, you sat down trying to think about what you wanted to say to Cale with the card. It had come to you as you were going to bed and after writing it down, you tucked the card back into the envelope writing Cale’s name on the front.
The next day was the longest wait of your life but you were determined to tell Cale when he got home, the secret you’d been hiding for two days already eating at you. It was late...really late and you’d moved from the couch to the kitchen to make yourself a cup of hot chocolate when you heard Cale’s key in the door.
As he stumbled into the kitchen he seemed surprised that you were still awake, but he’d leaned in to kiss you quickly. Only then did he notice the package on the counter, his eyebrows furrowed at the sight of it.
“What’s that?” He questioned, shrugging off his suit jacket and draping it over the back of the barstool.
“A present. For you.” You murmured softly, sending him a sneaky smile as you poured boiling water into your mug on the counter.
“My birthday isn’t for two weeks sweetheart...can’t it wait?” He asked, leaning against the counter.
“No, it can’t.” You insisted. “Open it now.” Cale eyed you for a minute before immediately reaching for the wrapping paper, causing you to glare at him in disbelief.
“Who taught you how to open presents?” You exclaimed. “Open the card first…” Cale rolled his eyes playfully before grabbing the card off the front of the box, slipping the little note card out of the envelope.
Daddy hopes I get mommy’s giggles,
Mommy hopes I get daddy’s rosy cheeks,
No matter what I’m going to be perfect,
You’ll see for yourself in about 36 weeks.
You watched as his eyes glazed over, his brain struggling to process given the late hour. Setting the card aside, he tore into the paper on the box frantically, pulling the lid off to reveal all of the goodies tucked inside. You watched, your bottom lip pulled between your teeth, as Cale bypassed the pregnancy test instead pulling the sleeper from the box. Just as quickly though, he reached back inside, his jaw dropping as the stick with the word ‘pregnant’ stared back at him.
“We’re having a baby?” The words spilled from his lips as tears rolled down his cheeks. “You’re serious?”
“I’m pregnant Cale.” You confirmed. “You’re gonna be a dad.” Closing the few steps between you, Cale wrapped his arms around you, spinning you once before burying his head into your neck.
“I can’t…” He mumbled into your skin. “You’re sure?”
“I’m sure.” You insisted. “3 home pregnancy tests and a clinic test all confirm.” Although Cale seemed happy, his lack of an official reaction was starting to worry you slightly. When he kissed you though, you took that as a good sign, carding your fingers through his hair.
“Please tell me you’re okay with this…” You whispered, shifting your fingers to wipe the tears from his cheeks. “...because I know this wasn’t planned and it happened sooner than I think we were expecting…”
“We’re having a baby.” Cale repeated, his tone awestruck. “Fuck sweetheart...of course I’m okay with this.” He breathed, shaking his head as if to pull him out of the daze he was in. “You’re having my baby.” He stated, his grin growing. “I’m shocked but...good shocked.” Kissing you again gently, Cale pulled back and immediately dropped to his knees, his hands sliding across your lower stomach.
This was the kind of reaction you’d hoped for, better than you’d hoped for even, and you felt your own tears fall as Cale nuzzled against your stomach, kissing gently over the skin there through your shirt.
“Baby says happy early birthday daddy.” You whispered, staring down at him.
++
You’d spent the rest of that night talking about your surprise blessing, Cale’s palm never leaving your stomach. It had been perfect, just perfect.
“Oh this is so wonderful.” Laura exclaimed. “How far along are you?” She pressed, her eyes drifting down to your where your baby bump would soon be growing.
“8 weeks.” You replied. “So still very early but the doctor says everything looks good. We’re due mid-june.” You explained, laughing as Laura expressed her happiness by bouncing up and down.
She hugged you again before moving to wrap Cale in her arms, the two of them whispering to each other, smiles on their faces. With his wife having expressed her excitement, Gary slid around the counter and pulled you into a hug as well.
“Congratulations. Can’t wait to meet my grandbaby.” He expressed, squeezing you a second time before moving to pat Cale on the back. You knew Cale needed this moment with his parents, so you turned your attention to the pot of soup bubbling away on the stovetop.
This year has been full of so many secrets: the disaster around Cale’s pregnancy scare with Sara, your exchanged feelings in March, dating for two months without anyone knowing, moving to Denver, and now the fact that your little family is growing.
And though the baby was going to remain a secret to some people for a little while longer, one thing was absolutely not a secret: you were in love with your best friend and he was in love with you. Your journey together was only just beginning.
Moving Forward: "ALN" Story (Pre-Serum Omega!Steve and Alpha!Bucky Modern Domestic AU)
TRIGGER WARNING: diagnosis of cancer and discussion of medical procedures
Three:
Waiting for the gynecologic oncologist, Dr. Foster, to enter their room, Bucky's leg kept jiggling. Just like it had done when they waited to see Dr. Cho. Steve wished they were in that type of situation instead of the one they were in now. Especially since it had been a week since the biopsy.
But Steve had a feeling that he already knew the answer.
Reaching over, Steve gave Bucky's thigh a comforting squeeze. A silent way to ask for him to stop. Instantly, thankfully, Bucky stopped jiggling his leg, but he didn't stop fidgeting. Instead, he started stroking his thumb over Steve's knuckles. Steve didn't have the heart to tell him to stop that. Especially not when his alpha needed comforting.
"Alright," Dr. Foster entered the room. "How are we feeling today?"
Steve realized that she was asking him, and he cleared his throat so he could quietly answer, "Fine."
Dr. Foster studied him before nodding. After all, this wasn't a normal check-up. Thankfully, the kind woman didn't pester him too much. Taking a seat on the rolling stool, she started, "This is never fun, but I'm not going to beat around the bush. The biopsy came back cancerous. I think the best move is to perform a full hysterectomy – which would mean removing the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and cervix – as soon as possible."
"Sounds like a plan," Bucky nodded, relieved. Looking over at Steve, he asked, "Right?"
While his mate got more comfortable, Steve couldn't. Not even when he gave him a little smile of false reassurance. He asked Dr. Foster, "Is that going to be enough?"
As though she had been expecting him to ask that, Dr. Foster admitted, "No. We'll perform surgery to remove as much as we can. But with the scans, it appears that it has, unfortunately... spread... to your intestines."
That was what Steve was afraid of.
Worrying his lower lip with his teeth, Steve tried to keep his composure. Beside him, Bucky tensed and held his hand tighter. Steve wasn't sure if his sudden change in grip was because of the news or because Steve was concealing more of his emotions from the bond. Either way, Steve still found it comforting. That constant – and bittersweet – reminder that he wasn't alone.
"We're going to do everything we can, Mr. Barnes," Dr. Foster kindly assured. "And I have all the confidence that we'll get you to remission."
Steve wasn't sure if she should've been saying stuff like that. After all, he didn't want to get his hopes up. Not when he had firsthand experience of what could happen. And even with him going through this with Sarah, he had never expected this to happen to him.
"Here," Dr. Foster offered, holding out the box of tissues.
Funny, Steve thought, not having realized that he was crying until it was brought to his attention. Accepting the tissue, he wiped his damp face and croaked, "Thank you."
Dr. Foster nodded and set the box back on the counter. Standing from her seat, she instructed, "Margorie will get you scheduled."
Nodding, Steve let Bucky assist him out of his seat. From there, he just went through the motions. At first, trying to work around Bucky's schedule until the alpha said, "Don't take my schedule into account, doll. The sooner we get this done, the better."
Once that was all set up, Bucky draped his arm around Steve's slender shoulders and pulled him in close. The warm spring air was full of promises, and Steve hoped that he stuck around that long to see what they would bring.
Nuzzling in closer to the alpha, Steve asked, "Think we should pick up a pizza?"
"What about the Hawaiian chicken?" Bucky asked, trying to be mindful of the prepped meals in their fridge and freezer.
"I'm not sure that I feel up to cooking," Steve admitted, already feeling more fatigued than before the appointment.
"You don't gotta do a thing, doll," Bucky promised, "Me and the kids can take care of that."
Looking up at Bucky, Steve tried to memorize everything he could about the brunet. Just in case, Steve reasoned. Bucky's salt-and-pepper hair and the way it matched the stubble on his jaw. The wrinkles etched into his alabaster skin. It wasn't fair how he aged so gracefully, and so sweetly like wine. Steve loved it all. The way that his smile crinkled the corners of his steel-blue eyes.
"What?" Bucky asked, good-humoredly scoffed.
Shaking his head, Steve simply nuzzled closer. Bucky dropped a kiss to the top of his head. Pushing the nagging feeling of hopelessness out of his head. All he could really do was to make sure that, no matter what, his loved ones knew how much he loved them in return.
"Hey," Bucky tenderly shook Steve. Almost as though he was trying to gain Steve's attention, even though he already had it. "It's gonna be alright."
Wishing to speak it into existence, Steve agreed, "Yeah. It's gonna be alright."
Werewolf Prompt: Chloe and Beca are cleaning up the house after werewolf!Chloe escaped and recked the house.
Read the Whole Series here | Request prompts here
It never mattered how long Chloe brushed her teeth, she couldn’t get the coppery taste out of her mouth. Her tongue was caked in cotton and the minty taste of toothpaste didn’t’ do anything to quell it at first. She would scrub and then spit and then drag the brush against her teeth again.
Eventually, she had enough and threw the toothbrush back into the cup where it rested comfortably next to Beca’s. She dragged her thumb against the corner of her lip and shut the light off. Her whole body ached after nights like this- it didn’t matter how many years she’s had to do it, how long she’s been tasting blood.
She padded into the hallway, happy to feel the spongy carpet under her feet instead of wet dirt. It didn’t’ take long before she had made her way down the stairs and into the family room. There was an unsettling breeze that swept through the lower level of the house. She stopped on the bottom stair and lifted an eyebrow.
“You’ve managed to break another window,” Beca said, a hint of amusement in her voice.
Chloe couldn’t’ stifle the smile on her lips, though it was thin. She flexed her fingers, and they stung. She had done a bad patch job with whatever bandages they had laying around. She would be healed by the time they got eggs on the stove but it made her feel more human to try.
Beca wore whatever she had scooped up from the floor, a cotton button-down that had a few droplets of blood, or maybe it was pen ink, on the collar. She had secured it against her skin and was rooting around the pantry for the broom. Chloe took it innocently, wrapping her fingers around Beca’s.
“I didn’t cause too much damage, did I?”
“No,” She fretted, “but I’m afraid you did wake the neighbors.”
Chloe let out a loud groan and palmed the dustpan before lowering herself to the ground to scoop the shards of glass into a neat little pile. Beca rooted around in the drawer and produced masking tape and unfurled the paper that she had brought in this morning.
They worked in silence, Chloe getting as much of the sliding glass door. They had replaced it twice since they relocated to the small townhome. It was an upgrade from the apartment with the creaky radiator, but they hadn’t yet figured out a safe way for her to transition. A good patch of land was more than an hour away.
Beca had begun taping the corners of the paper to ward off the chilled morning breeze. She flicked the first section of the news and squinted to see the tiny letters. She wouldn’t admit it, but she needed glasses to read, and drive at night. She tucked them away at the back of the medicine cabinet and strained herself instead.
“Chloe?”
“Darling?”
She heard the detrimental tone in the woman’s voice. Her legs ached as she stood from her position on the floor, dumping the pile of glass into the nearby bin. Beca moved the paper closer to her face, so close she could smell the ink and freshly printed paper.
“Do you remember anything from last night?”
“Not much, why?”
She grasped the news, not having to keep it as close as her wife did. There was a photo of a small intersection, each one with nearly the same housing as they had. They were cookie-cutter, the HOA making sure that the hedges were cut and the grass was mowed.
“A whole chicken coop, Chloe?” Beca asked, snatching it back before ripping a large strand of tape from the roll. “I mean, you ate the half-rack of lamb that we left in the freezer. I didn’t think you would be hungry after that but I underestimated your stomach yet again.”
“Miss Jensen will get more chickens,” Chloe reasoned. She snaked her arms around Beca. She pushed herself flush against her, placing her chin on her shoulder. Beca smelled like clove cigarettes and vanilla. Chloe kissed her neck gently.
“Mm, this is not helping your case.” Beca turned in her arms, having secured the paper. She draped her arms over Chloe’s shoulders “I know we’re only stuck here for a year but I don’t need the neighbors beating down our door with pitchforks and torches.”
Chloe chuckled “That’s impossible, Sweetheart. I’m much too charming.”
As if on cue there was a swift knock at the door. Both of them stiffened and Chloe turned her chin towards the front of the townhome. She nodded apprehensively at Beca and rolled her shoulders back before padding across the room. She took a deep, steadying breath before opening the door with a smile.
A couple, their neighbors, she recognized, beamed with a casserole dish. Chloe could smell the flour and the gravy already and it made her stomach turned. With her luck, she would burp up a wet feather and incriminate herself more. Beca didn’t’ waste any time joining her, fitting into Chloe’s side.
“Hi,” They said in unison, but cocking their heads to the side. They were too pristine. The woman’s jet black eyes flicked towards the half-covered window, void of glass. “We’re the Sief’s, we live across the street.”
“Ah,” Beca turned on her charm “It’s so nice to meet you. I’m Beca, this is my wife Chloe. What can we help you with today?”
Mr. Sief’s smile never faltered “Well, we’ve never had the pleasure of welcoming you to the neighborhood. We also wanted to check to see if the two of you were okay. With all those recent animal attacks.”
“It’s just awful isn’t it?” Mrs. Sief shuddered, gripping the Pyrex pan tight enough to shatter it. “What happened to your window?”
They were being eyed, and Chloe stuck her bandaged fingers into the pockets of her pajama pants as smoothly as she could without irritating the lacerations. Beca gripped on tighter, the fabric of Chloe’s shirt shifting under her touch.
“Oh, just some neighborhood kids with a ball, it sure startled us. Right honey?”
“Right, it’s not something you want to wake up to in the morning.”
Mrs. Seif narrowed her eyes and thrust the pan of casserole forward. She considered it customary for a funeral and not for a welcome committee. Beca took it with a smile and thanked them in a tone that was sweet enough to make her teeth fall out.
“Thank you so much for the casserole,” Chloe beamed “It’s very nice of you.”
The woman nodded with exaggeration “You all should consider pressing charges. Teenagers shouldn’t be out that late anyway.”
“We’ll think about it. Nice to meet you!” Beca closed the door entirely before they could say anything else. They waited for a few long moments, making sure that the couple had at least made it to the curb before Chloe couldn’t hold her laugh in any longer.
Beca shoved her shoulder, mocking a frown “It’s not funny! I’m pretty sure they poisoned that. Who puts tater tots in a casserole?”
“Oh, I’m not eating this. But our accountant neighbors are a far cry from angry townsfolk, wouldn’t you say?”
Beca rolled her eyes and shoved the glass pan into Chloe’s entirely healed hands before walking over to the window to finish taping it up. Chloe would pull the business card from the magnet on the fridge and call the handyman again. At this point, they could earn a punch card.
The Prince and the Pauper (who drives an Uber) Ch. 6
Tumblr media
(Prince Steve flees his wedding, and asks his Uber driver to take him bowling...and on a date.  WIP)  Part One | Two | Three | Four | Five
Billy’s phone rang seconds after the bell did, and he sat his books back down, checking to see whether it was Max’s school, and she’d finally decked that one kid that kept—but it wasn’t, it was Steve’s bowling picture, and Billy grabbed his books awkwardly and ducked around the people coming in for the next class, tucking his phone against his shoulder.  “Steve,” he said.
“Tell me I’m not a moron,” Steve said.  He sounded like he’d been running.
“You are a moron,” Billy said absently, crouching against the corridor wall to stuff his notebook and textbook into his bag.  There was silence on the other end, and he bit his lip, considering.  “I mean, uh.”
“...you’re such a help,” Steve said dryly.
“You’re into me,” Billy told him, and Steve groaned.
“No, that’s smart.”
“Then you’re smart!  Ha,” Billy said, smirking, and Steve laughed, and blew air through his cheeks.
“...I have to sign a treaty today,” he said softly.  “I had everyone else read it, all the smart people, but—but if it’s wrong, it’s still my fault.”
“Hey, hey,” Billy said, frowning.  Somebody banged into him from behind, and he realized he’d stopped dead in the middle of the hallway.  “Your Royalship—”
“This is why the people should elect their leaders,” Steve groaned, his voice hoarse.  “I failed debate class!  I—I’ve been reading so much about taxes, and—and water rights—the letters are blurring, and I don’t think I know any more than I did yesterd—”
“Breathe,” Billy told him, walking as fast as he could to the open balcony, and a blast of heat.  “Babe.  Breathe for me.”  Steve took a shaky breath, and Billy bit his lips together hard against the need to curse himself for being such a fucking cunt.  “Shit,” Billy whispered, and Steve started snickering.  “You—you’re not a moron,” Billy admitted.
“I’m trying not to be,” Steve said softly.  “Y’know they say royalty’s all inbred.  Maybe that’s my problem, I probably have dumb royal braincells—”
Billy rolled his eyes.  His skin shone with sweat already, and he let his eyes close against the glare.  “Shut up, you’re not a moron.  Did somebody say something shitty to you?  ‘Cause I’ll fight ‘em.”
“I think if you punched the Minister of Agriculture, he’d die,” Steve said, laughing, with a sniffle.  “He’s like a hundred years old.”
“Sounds like it’s time for me to punch him,” Billy growled, and smiled, listening to Steve giggle.  “You tell me and I’m on a plane.”
“Maybe I should,” Steve said.  “I’d get to see you.”
Billy shut his eyes tightly against the burst of fondness that rose and heated his cheeks, and when he could, laughed.  “If you need me, I’ll figure it out,” he promised.
“I’ll be all right,” Steve said.  “I just—” he sighed.  “There just—there are some regulations that...somebody’s telling me they’re for safety, and we can’t let the corporations get away with, you know, giving people botulism—”
“Sounds pretty legit,” Billy nodded, biting his lip.
“But I’ve got somebody else saying it’s actually this new unnecessary process that wastes a bunch of food, and it’s just a way to drive the smaller growers out by making them adopt all this mechanical stuff—”
“...which one does that guy say?” Billy asked, leaning his elbows on the cement edge of the balcony.  “The one that called you a moron.”
“Oh, he didn’t, he wouldn’t say it,” Steve laughed, sounding disheartened.  “He just—”
“Do whatever he doesn’t want,” Billy hissed, and Steve’s laugh turned more genuine.
“No, no, he’s, uh, he is conservative, but he...he means well,” Steve sighed.  “I don’t—”
“Okay,” Billy considered.  “Who’s the most onboard with your unionizing?”
“What?”
“That isn’t patronizing at all.  There somebody like that?”
“Ah,” Steve was quiet for a long moment, and Billy watched a lady down below unlock her car, climb in and roll down the windows, burn herself on the steering wheel, and scramble out to stand in the shade.  “Maybe,” Steve said in a small voice.  “But that’s got nothing to do with—”
“Go see what they think.  They might at least know who’s in it for profits.”
“Yeah, okay,” Steve said.  “I lo—” he cut off, clearing his throat.  “I’m so glad I met you, Billy Hargrove.”
Billy’s heart was pounding with what he’d thought Steve was about to say, and he drew a slow breath, wide-eyed.  “I’m pretty fucking happy I met you too,” he said back, feeling a little choked.
“Miss you,” Steve whispered, and Billy laughed, wanting to cry.
“Get your posh ass back here then,” he said.
 The next day when he got home there were no lights on in any of the windows in the whole complex, and no porch lights.  In the light of the street lamps over the parking area, he could see extension cords going in through the windows in half the apartments, like they’d all suddenly forgotten about fire hazards, and blankets stuffed in the gaps.  He usually sat in the car for a minute, finishing out a song, and soaking in the last of the AC before he had to walk through the late night heat to their apartment building, but he slammed the door and stumbled in the darkness of the street door to the apartment stairs.  When he ran around and up, there were no lights on in the hallways, and the heat was so thick it had weight.  He unlocked the door by the light of his phone, and yelled for his sister, walking into what felt like a refrigerator.
“It’s fine,” came her voice, shouting through a door, and then closer.  “The landlord didn’t pay the electricity bill,” she said, in a familiar voice that meant she was grimacing.  “I, uh, I got some dry ice like the um, like, uh, it’s in the freezer and fridge.”
“What,” said Billy, finding her in the dim light from the digital display on the A/C unit plugged in in the middle of the kitchen, and awkwardly touching her shoulder.  “Where’d this thing come from?  Max.  Tell me what’s going on.  How long has the power been off.”
“Uh, she said again, making a face, and then folding her arms.  “I thought...you were working late tonight.”
“...did you think I wouldn’t notice there were no lights when I came in?!” he hissed, stalking away to sit wrong-way-round on a kitchen chair, and lean his head on his arms.
“No!”  She waved her hands, an orangey grey blur in the darkness.  “No, no, uh—it’s—um.  I just—”
The power came on in a chorus of hums from the fridge and the overhead fluorescent lights, and the usual AC clicked on over the window with a wheeze.  “...they got it back on,” he breathed, his shoulders dropping.  “Do—do we have to pay the—is the money just gone, the money we paid for utilities?  I can’t afford to—”
“Legally,” Max said, stepping forward to touch his elbow, “—it’s on him.  It’s not on us.  We won’t have to move, unless he pays for us to move.”
“What?” Billy asked, lifting his head, but Max’s phone rang, and she waved him away as she answered.
“...yeah, it’s back on,” she said, glancing back at Billy, and grimacing again.  “Um, yeah.  Thank you.  Yeah, that’s all—no, we’re okay.  It’s only been off a few hours!  No, we’re—we’re really—thank you.  Oh, really?”  She snorted.  “What happens to people who live in her buildings, then?  Oh.  Haha, sounds like she deserves it.  Thank you.  Wha—?”  She listened for a few minutes, as Billy’s suspicions heightened, and then laughed again, sounding a little disbelieving.  “Oh.  Oh, no, um, the air conditioner’s great, I can box it back up for—oh.  Uh, really?”  Her brows drew together as she stared at it, and Billy registered the box it had come in, sitting to the side.
“Shit,” he whispered, quietly, into his sleeves, and waited for his step-sister to get off the phone.  She bit her lips together, avoiding his eyes, and he cleared his throat.  “They turned the power off,” he prompted her, and she nodded.  “...and you called Steve.”
She nodded again, hunching her shoulders.
“He’s in charge of a country—”
“Yeah, I thought maybe he knew some lawyers,” she hissed back, and Billy's stomach went into freefall.
“You asked him to hire lawyers,” he whispered, registering that as a kid, she’d thrown down the only defense she had access to.  “—and he sent over an AC unit, jesus.  ...why didn’t you let me handle it?  Why didn’t—you didn’t even call me—”
“You were working!” she yelled.  “You were working all last night—"
"The power was off yesterday?!" he shouted back, "—there's a heat advisory—there are people collapsing out there—"
"You were at school all morning," she screamed back.  "—I thought—I thought you’d be gone all night—”
Billy flinched at her volume, his eyes burning.  “Sorry!  Jesus, Max, I’m—I’m fucking sorry, okay, but you can’t just—”
“I couldn’t even make cup noodles,” she shouted, sounding like she wanted to cry herself, and Billy clenched his fists around the back of the chair, instead of running back downstairs to work more hours, or stomping off to sleep in his room.
“I have to work!” he yelled back.  “I could have brought you some food, you didn’t even call me—”
“You said you trusted him!” she said, a little more quietly, her clenched fists shaking, and Billy remembered the look she had, her jaw set, too wary to look at him.  He remembered it from living at home, and felt worse.
“I did say that,” he said numbly.  “...fine.”  She flinched back as he stood, and he froze, his eyes blurring with tears.  “Sorry you had to...do that,” he said through gritted teeth.  “I—I’ll call the—them, so next bullshit she tries, you don’t have to...deal with it.”
“I dealt with it fine,” she muttered, and Billy’s hands strained on the back of the chair until it creaked.
“...sorry,” he whispered, turning away to his room.
“Shut up!” she yelled after him, and Billy shouted back a  “You shut up!” before he slammed the door, and sank down against it, and fumbled his phone out.  He’d dialed before he realized it was two am in Greece, and he frantically shut it off, letting his head thump back against the door, and then thumping it harder a second and third time.
He stopped as his phone rang with Prince Charming’s song from Snow White.
“Sorry,” he answered, in a weird uneven hiss, and cleared his throat.  “I’m so fucking sorry, now I fucking woke you up, I’m such a fucking moron—useless—asshole—”
“Billy,” Steve said, authoritative, and Billy sat up straighter, closing his eyes and clenching his fingers in his jeans.
“Y-yeah,” he whispered.  He wondered whether it was worth apologizing again, and tried not to sniffle as he felt his tears spill over down his cheeks.
“Are you okay?” Steve asked, and Billy let out a sob before he buried it in his sleeves.
“Of-of course I’m okay,” he laughed hoarsely.  “My sister called my boyfriend ‘cause she knew I was useless, and he—he probably skipped a fucking—UN meeting or some shit—probably peace-talking with Iran right now and we’ll go to war because my air conditioning got turned off, and I’m so fucking useless my sister called you—”
“Billy.  Billy,” Steve said again, in the calm voice Billy associated with his kinder teachers.  “It was forty-nine degrees there, malaka, I checked online.  And it took like thirty seconds, I just told my PA to make a call—”
“Shit, I probably owe you a million dollars in—in legal fees,” Billy realized aloud, letting his head thud back against the door again as he turned the number 49 in his head. He couldn’t make sense of it until he remembered with a shaky huff of laughter that Steve was a prince where they used celsius.  “Jesus,” he whispered.
“You—no you don’t,” Steve huffed.  “What the hell are you—Billy.”  He sighed, and Billy pulled the hood of his sweatshirt over his head, sighing into the warm fabric of his sleeves.  “You don’t owe me anything, you don’t—” Steve started again, sounding annoyed, and Billy waited, shutting his eyes tighter.  “I’m not that important, love, you’re not going to cause a war.”
“What,” Billy breathed, his comprehension stalling out in the middle.
“You can always call me,” Steve told him, breathing a little faster, and Billy pictured him pacing around his gold-and-marble room, walking over his bed in huge steps like it was steep terrain, and scrabbling at his hair.  Billy took a slow breath, listening, as Steve repeated. “I love you.  You can always call me.”
“Shit.  I thought—” Billy took another deep, shaky breath, trying to focus his thoughts as he wiped more tears off his cheeks and relaxed, sliding sideways to curl up on his side against the foot of the door.  “I get another chance still, huh?”
“...you thought I’d...dump you,” Steve said slowly.
“But you didn’t,” Billy laughed, giggling with relief.  “Shit.  God.  You don’t—you don’t have to say shit like that, I’m not—I’m fine, jesus.  Jesus.”
“Why’re you laughing?” Steve asked, and Billy laughed harder, wiping his eyes.
“Can’t believe you’re okay with this,” Billy whispered.  “I figured—”
“You can ask for help,” Steve interrupted, and Billy smiled wider, curling around his phone.
“You just wanna strip show later, right?” he whispered, keeping his voice flirty when he wanted to snicker.
“...I seriously don’t know whether you’re kidding,” Steve said, and Billy sighed, pushing himself to your feet.
“...d’you want me to be?”
“I flubbed it and told you I loved you because you sounded upset, and you haven’t said anything, and now you’re laughing at me,” Steve growled, but he sounded a little whiny, and Billy wanted to wrap him in a soft sweatshirt again, and then unwrap him entirely, and kiss every square inch of his body.
“Uhhh,” he said to break the silence, his face heating as he thought of humiliating ways to reply.
“I’m going back to bed,” Steve sighed, and Billy spun to pace in his little room, hoping—like an idiot—that they were pacing in synch.
“No, no, wait,” he mumbled, then groaned.  “I—I heard you, I thought—” he trailed off, and the silence lengthened.  Finally, Billy forced out “What did you mean?”
“What?!” Steve laughed.
“What does that even—”
“Billy—”
“No, look, we—we fucked, right,” Billy said, waving his hand in a decisive chopping motion.
“...we fucked,” Steve said, real quiet, and Billy dropped to lay across his bed, staring at the ceiling.
“We fucked.  A couple times.  And—and now I call you sometimes when you’re flipping your shit—”
“Or when you are,” Steve put in, and Billy pulled the blanket over his head, groaning.
“I don’t—I didn’t that much, jesus.  I flipped out a couple times, you—” Billy spoke louder, over Steve’s sputtering, “—you call me when I’m freaking out, asshole, you know you do that, Max fucking tells you, I didn’t ask for that, I don’t—”
“Why does this sound like I’m accused of a crime,” Steve muttered, and Billy stopped with his mouth still open, then closed it.
“No,” he said, thinking.  “No, I didn’t—I don’t mean that, I mean...I just mean—you can’t—”
“I can’t what?” Steve asked.
“You can’t fall in love with a hot Uber driver you meet for like...a week,” Billy sighed.  “Just because I told you some like...jokes.  A couple times.”
“Billy.  I have known you for months,” Steve told him, with the carefully articulated syllables of someone trying to sound patient.
“We haven’t even been able to talk much—”
“We talk nearly every day!” Steve laughed, sounding upset, and Billy’s eyes widened as he bit his lips, considering.
“...no,” he said quietly, laughing.  “No fucking way.”
“...I’m going to hang up,” Steve said, and Billy sat up under the blanket.
“No, no, wait, you can’t—I’m not—it’s just—”
“I’m tired,” Steve told him, sounding kind of sad, and Billy scrambled for something to say.
“No, there hasn’t been a musical number,” he said, curling around his phone again to concentrate on Steve’s voice as he waited to see whether his prince would laugh.
“...what?!” Steve asked.  “The hell are you—”
“I can fall for you,” Billy told him, feeling like the five short words took all his oxygen.  “I—I can.  F-fall in...but y-you’re a prince.  Th-there hasn’t been a musical number.”
“...you saying you’re in love with me?” Steve asked, and Billy wanted to hide, his pounding heart telling him to say it, or Steve would be hurt, but also not to, because Billy Hargrove’s love wasn’t valuable enough to take up somebody’s time.
“...you tromped right the fuck into my—my heart when you tried to buy a plush winged buffalo,” Billy admitted, realizing he sounded a little pissed, which was truthful enough.  “And I don’t need a fucking musical number.  Even—even if you hadn’t called, y’know.  Gotten in touch.  Every time I hear your voice you’re a little more in here.  I—I wake up thinking maybe I’ll hear from my prince today, try to—try to think of funny shit to say so you’ll keep calling…”
Steve made a noise like he was trying to laugh underwater.
“I reread your texts all the time when I need…” Billy trailed off, and took another deep breath.  “You’re like a—a goddamn air freshener, I look at you and I—I listen to your dumb voice and it—everything’s—better,” he forced out.  “Had to stop calling just to listen to your voicemail,” he admitted quietly.  “‘Cause you kept calling me back.  No matter what time it was, you’d call me back, and—and asking what—I-I there wasn’t anything I wanted, I just wanted...you.”
“Please keep calling my voicemail,” Steve laughed, sniffling.  “I thought I scared you off, or—or maybe you were trying to leave bad news.  How come you only call when you think I won’t answer?!  I’ll always answer—”
“Don’t tell me this shit,” Billy hissed, “—I’ll take you up on this crap, I will, you’ll get fifty calls a day because I had to leave class—I was thinking about your dumb face today and I kept smiling at the professor and she thought I was high—”
“No!” Steve shouted back, laughing.  “No, keep doing it!  I want you thinking about me, you can—you can always—just call and tell me—”
Billy stuck out his tongue and blew loudly.  “Oh, yeah,” he snorted.  “Prince Steven, I’m horny.  Ignore that—that ambassador, and watch me take my shirt off, your majesty—”
“Let me get somewhere I can unzip my slacks,” Steve laughed, and Billy snorted so hard he choked, coughing.  “Make some requests, maybe.”
“What d’you wanna request?” Billy asked, letting his voice come out husky.  “I’m in bed, by the way.  Bring it on.”
“You got time?” Steve asked, and Billy could hear his smile.  “I want video of you saying you love me.”
“Fuck you,” Billy mumbled, wide-eyed.  “What the shit—”
“I’ll call you from somewhere public,” Steve whispered.  “Somewhere nobody can hear me, but everyone can see me, and I’ll talk you off.”
“Holy shit,” Billy breathed.
“Send me video of you in a hoodie,” Steve said.  “Tell me you love me,” and Billy’s face heated enough to be the sole cause of the current heat advisory.
“No!” he hissed back, muffled, because he’d buried his face in the pillow.  He was fairly sure it’d combust.  “Fuck you!  No!”
“Don’t you want me telling you how to touch yourself in my sash and uniform,” Steve whispered, snickering.  “I’ll wear my crown.  You know you want me to—”
“Oh my god,” Billy wheezed.  “Now I do.  What fucking kink even is that?!”
“I’ll go out on some palace balcony,” Steve said.  “Maybe I’ll wave.  While you’re squirming around with your hand on your dick.  I’ll say stuff like ‘god, you sound amazing, babe,’ and ‘good job’.”
“...you motivational speaker,” Billy muttered, meaning it to insult.
“Do I get my video?”
“I don’t know, how good a job d’I have to do to hear it,” Billy shot back, then realized what he said, and buried his face again.
“...you wanna hear you did a good job?” Steve asked, and Billy mumbled ‘damn it, damn it, damn it’ into his pillow.  “I can’t tell you you did a good job on my video until I get it, but I know you will,” he said, and Billy shivered.
“I was just kidding—” he tried to interrupt, but Steve just got louder.
“—you do such a good job with your sister, you’re amazing, taking classes and working, you’re not even twenty years old—”  Billy groaned incoherently into his pillow, but Steve didn’t stop.  “You always know what to say because you listen to me, like you listen to Max, you’re so good at that, you’re so good for me—”
Billy squirmed, shifting in his jeans, and rubbed the bridge of his nose, wishing his eyes would stop burning.
“I could have ended up in anyone’s car,” said Steve, “—I was—I was upset, and I didn’t know what I was doing, and—you—you were really good to me,” he mumbled, starting to sound embarrassed himself.  “Say something.”
Billy took a deep, slow breath.  “—walked in today and I thought—I realized Max got you to call us lawyers and I…” his breath gave out, and he shut his eyes tightly, pressing his lips together.  Steve took a breath, but stayed quiet.  “Thought you—thought you’d leave me hangin’,” Billy whispered, laughing.  “Last, uh, last straw, this American slut dickhead who keeps taking you for more money.”
“I want to help,” Steve told him, hoarsely.  “Billy.  I want to help you.”
“You don’t have to!” Billy said, smiling into the middle distance, his eyes stinging with tears.  “It’s not—that’s not what you’re for, your highness, you don’t always have to help.”
“I want to,” Steve huffed.
“You’d be perfect already if you were poor and stingy,” Billy told him, narrowing his eyes.  “Stop overachieving.  The hell am I supposed to say ‘love you’ to somebody like you.  Whole universe just popped up an error window.”
“No, it didn’t,” Steve breathed, and Billy could hear him beaming through the phone.  “Fuck do you mean musical number.  You saying I have to write you a song?  Because I—”
“No,” Billy interrupted, his eyes widening in horror.  “No, I’m giving you shit, because you’re a prince—”
“Perform in karaoke?  Should I rent some big venue, Billy?”
“No, no, no no no,” Billy sat up in bed, staring at the wall.  “What?!  No!”
“Tough crowd,” Steve said, laughing like a shithead, and Billy tried to resist snickering, his eyes widening in dread.
“No, no, it was a joke, you dumb fuck—”
“I’ll have to do both—”
“How do you even—” Billy roared, and Steve snickered.
“I better go get started,” he said, sing-songing it.  “Did you know I can play the guitar?”
“Of course you fucking can,” Billy breathed.  “You’re amazing.  Stop, stop this right now—”
“Gonna write you a love song—” Steve sang, and to Billy’s horrified and charmed embarrassment, it sounded good.
“Oh no,” he whispered.
Steve made a kissy noise into the phone.  “Love you too, babe.  That’s just for practise, of course, ‘til I get that song done!  Just keep saying I love you.  Gotta get it right.  Love you, love you, love you!  Am I saying it right?  It’s hard for princes to say these things without singing—”
“Shut up,” Billy croaked, like a frog.
“I need a rhyming dictionary for our musical number,” Steve sang, snickering, and Billy growled.  “Maybe I’ll work my way up from limericks.  Dick limericks.  To dick sonnets.  To dick epics—”
Billy hung up on him.
daddy duties | 10
“Yn, seriously, we’ll be fine. Go, go, the girls are waiting for you,” Jimin says, attempting to push you out. You pout at him as you walk out the door.
“Fine, but just call or text me if anything’s wrong. I’ll get here as fast as possible, and if for some reason I can’t, call one of the guys oka--” Jimin rolls his eyes, leaning in and shutting you up with a kiss.
“Everything will be fine, don’t worry,” Jimin said when he pulled away.
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
You sigh, peeking behind Jimin to see your sweet baby laying on the floor, giggling at his own feet.
“Okay, I’ll get going then,” you lean in to give Jimin another kiss before leaving. He smiles, watching you go before stepping back and closing the door.
“Aigoo, Mingyu-ah,” he says, walking over to his son and sitting on the floor. “It’s just you and I today. Our first father and son day, how do you feel?” Jimin leaned in close to Mingyu’s face, startling the little one. He reaches his little hands out and squishes his dad’s face.
“Ahh-- Ahh!” Jimin yells, trying to unclench Mingyu’s fist as it was pinching his face a little too hard. Jimin’s eyes widened as he finally got his son’s fists off his face. “When did you get so strong..” He says, making Mingyu laugh. Jimin smiles at his mini me, leaning down to kiss his nose.
“I don’t have much plans for today, but I know you won’t give me a hard time right?” Mingyu gives his dad a look before slowly sticking his tongue out.
“Oh-- that better not mean you’re going to act up today,” Jimin says. Slowly, he picks him up and sits down on the couch. “Let’s watch a movie, yeah? What do you want to watch?”
-
Ding! Ding!
Jimin looks away from the television and grabs his phone from the coffee table, holding Mingyu on his lap.
“Oooh, mommy texted… again,” Jimin says, unlocking his phone and reading your text message.
My lovely: don’t forget it’s gyu’s nap time in ten minutes. i prepared many bottles for him in the fridge, but don’t forget to warm it up first!! also why haven’t u sent me any pictures, wth park :((
“Aww you have to go down for a nap soon,” Jimin pouts, he looks back up at the television. “We have way more than 10 minutes of Toy Story left..” He looks at the time, and down at Mingyu.
“Can I leave you here while I prepare your food, buddy?” Mingyu looks up at Jimin before turning back to the talking toys on the Tv. “I’m taking that as a yes.” Jimin stands up carefully, setting Mingyu down on the couch and surrounding him with pillows.
“I’ll be back!” Jimin yells as he quickly runs to the kitchen. He doesn’t know this, but Mingyu’s lips turn into a pout as he watches his dad leave him by himself on the couch. Mingyu looks around him, noticing that he’s alone and begins to cry.
“Hold on buddy, I’m warming up your milk!” Jimin calls out, which only makes Mingyu cry a little harder.
“I’m back,” Jimin says, running back to Mingyu, who looks up at his dad and whines, reaching his arms up for Jimin to carry.
“Aigoo, I’m sorry baby,” Jimin says, picking up Mingyu. He puts his son on his lap, laying him down to start feeding him.
Mingyu calmly drinks his milk, staring up at Jimin. His eyes start drooping a bit and slowly he closes his eyes. Not exactly sleeping but he wasn’t wide awake either.
“Good boy,” Jimin whispers, he pulls out his phone to take a picture to send to you. “Waah~ See, everything’s going to be fine, mama’s gonna be so proud of both of us..”
-
~phone call with you~
Jimin: “We watched Toy Story but since I had to feed him and put him down for a nap, we didn’t get to finish it. But I’m watching the second movie now, maybe he can join me when I get to the third Toy Story movie--”
Yn: *laughs* “I’m glad you’re having fun babe, but I hear everything’s going well?”
Jimin: “Of course, so no need to worry.. We got this!”
Yn: “That’s good… because we’re going to take longer than expected but I should get home before his bedtime.”
Jimin: “Okay, we should be fine so take your time. How are you and the girls?”
Yn: “We’re doing well and I’m having so much fun! I miss having girl time..”
Jimin: “Ah that’s great.. You miss me though right?” Yn: “Of course, I miss both you AND my little Gyu..”
Jimin: “You’re pouting right now aren’t you?”
Yn: “Noo…..”
Jimin: “Yeah? Facetime me then.”
You and Jimin switch to facetime and he laughs as soon as your face pops up.
“Are you crying??” He says as he continues to laugh. You were heavily pouting at the screen with a couple tears rolling down your cheek.
“I miss my baby,” you say.
“She’s goin through it, been there, done that sis,” Rina says somewhere behind the camera. Jimin watches as a hand pops out of nowhere and wipes the tears on your cheek.
“I’ll continue to update you when he wakes up, so stop crying,” Jimin says, smiling at you as one of the girls dab a napkin on your cheeks.
“Okay fine, I’ll see you when I get home,” you say, waving at the camera.
“Okay, I love you,” Jimin says, kissing his phone camera.
“I love you too.”
As soon as he put his phone down and proceeded to watch the movie he was watching, Jimin heard a soft cry coming from the nursery. He turns around, getting up to see if his son has woken up from his nap.
Usually Mingyu slept for longer, he started to wonder what was wrong.
As soon as Jimin walked into the nursery and made eye contact with Mingyu, his son started to cry louder.
“What’s wrong buddy?” Jimin asks, leaning over his crib and picking him up. “Do you miss mommy?” His cries only seemed to get louder as Jimin talked. “Aigoo~ you usually sleep a lot longer than this.. Is your diaper full?” Jimin asks. He puts his hand over Mingyu’s diaper to check if it was wet. It didn’t seem to be but he went to change him anyways.
As Jimin changed Mingyu’s diaper, he was more antsy and he kept kicking his little feet. He usually stayed still whenever his diaper was changed.
“Hmm.. your diaper’s empty..” Jimin sighs, not knowing why Mingyu was so upset. “Are you hungry again? Is that why?” Mingyu continued to cry as Jimin picked him up and walked to the kitchen.
“Here you go,” Jimin says, giving Mingyu a bottle. He refused it, pushing the bottle away and screaming a bit louder. “What’s wrong? You’re not hungry? Do you just miss mommy is that it?” Jimin carried Mingyu out to the living room, grabbing his phone.
“Should we call her?... I don’t.. Want her to worry though,” Jimin drops his phone on the couch and rubs his face. “Ughhhh, Mingyu-ahh, please stop crying… daddy’s gonna start crying if you continue..”
“Should I call your uncles?.. I don’t want to always call them whenever anything happens though..” Right now, Jimin was bouncing Mingyu on his lap as they both sat on the couch.
“UGH I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DOOOOOO,” Jimin yells in frustration, slumping down on the couch. His loud voice frustrated Mingyu too, making him whine, pinching his dad’s shirt.
“I’m sorry, shhshh..” Jimin gently pets Mingyu’s back, getting up to go to your shared room. “Where’s my laptop,” Jimin says to himself, Mingyu was starting to quiet down a bit, still whining but he wasn’t screaming anymore. His small fist was in his mouth.
Jimin sits on the bed, with Mingyu on his lap, opening up his laptop across from him.
‘Why won’t my baby stop crying’ Jimin types on the search bar.
“Enter.” He hums as he scrolls through the results page, clicking on random websites. His eyes widen as he reads one of the reasons as to why Mingyu could be crying.
“Teeth pains? Can you be growing them already?” Jimin says to his son. Mingyu’s pout started to quiver as he looked up at his dad.
“Wait lemme see,” Jimin says, gently grabbing Mingyu’s face, opening his mouth. “Could that be it? Are you getting teeth pains buddy?” Jimin lets go of Mingyu’s cheeks and starts typing on his laptop again.
‘How to soothe a teething baby’ “Hmm… tips to help a child sleep during teething… give the baby something cold to chew on.. What.. Like a popsicle? Can I give you that?” Jimin says, looking at Mingyu. “Mommy would get mad at me if I do that wouldn’t she..” Jimin groans again, “Why is this so complicated--”
Ding!
Jimin looks down at his laptop, he just got an email notification.
“Oh no,” he says. This day went downhill very fast. Jimin clicked on the email that he got from work titled ‘URGENT’.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Jimin says, Mingyu whines in response, looking at the laptop then up at his dad. “I have to go to our company building,” Jimin says, looking back at Mingyu.
-
“Okay, chew on this,” Jimin says, handing Mingyu a cold pacifier. He has to stop by his company’s building to get some information on a new project that they for some reason don’t want to send through email. Jimin was also able to throw a few pacifiers in the freezer as he got Mingyu’s car seat ready.
Mingyu scrunched his brows as he touched the cold pacifier, slowly putting it in his mouth and chewing.
“That should help ease the pain,” Jimin says, looking at Mingyu from the rear view mirror.
“Alright buddy, this should be a quick stop and we’ll be home in no time,” Jimin tells Mingyu, as he starts playing some white noise in the car. Something he learned online that will help soothe his crying. Slowly but surely, everything was getting better.
-
The ride to Jimin’s company building was so peaceful. Mingyu fell asleep and the whole ride was quiet. But now that Jimin parked his car, his only problem was how he’s going to get Mingyu into his baby carrier without waking him up. The poor little guy has missed an hour of sleep from his first nap and Jimin didn’t want to wake him up now, but he also can’t leave him alone, unattended in the car.
“Okay Park Jimin, you got this,” Jimin tells himself. He straps on the baby carrier and slowly unbuckles Mingyu’s safety belts. He then slowly picks him up, transferring him into the carrier. Mingyu stirs a bit but remains asleep. Earning a relief sigh out of Jimin.
“We got this, we got this,” Jimin chants quietly to himself as he walks into the building.
-
~phone call with you~
Yn: “You went out?”
Jimin: “For a bit, yeah. Work called, I had to go stopped by the building to pick stuff up. They really could’ve just sent it to me through email” *sighs* “But I got it, and we’re home now.”
Yn: “Okay, everything’s well though… right? You sound--”
Jimin: “Everything is fine Yn. Don’t worry. Your boys got everything under control.”
Yn: “Okay but you sound--”
Jimin: “Like I got everything under control right? Right. Okay sweetie, come home soon, but take your time and stay safe I love you byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.”
-End call-
Jimin sighs, looking at Mingyu who’s sitting comfortably in front of his laptop, watching cartoons.
“Okay, mommy’s gonna get home soon, so I’m going to give you a bath and get you ready for bed okay?” Jimin closes the laptop, earning a confused look from Mingyu, his lip starts to quiver.
“No-- no no, no we’re not doing that again. We- we’ve been doing so well the past ten minutes, no more sad faces. Pleaseee,” Jimin cries out. Mingyu starts to quietly cry, reaching out to Jimin and he picks his son up from the bed and they both are crying as they head to the bathroom.
-
“I’m home!” You yell as you walk into the living room. It was empty. You frown and walk to Mingyu’s nursery, empty again.
“Jimin?” You call out, walking to your shared room. You instantly smile at the sight of your two boys. They were both asleep, facing each other with their mouths slightly open.
Before sliding in bed with the both of them, you grabbed some pajamas from your dresser and you went to the bathroom to do your skin care.
When you were all done, you walked back into your room to find Jimin wide awake. He had his eyes on Mingyu’s face, gently stroking his head.
“So today went well?” You whisper, walking to your side of the bed and sliding in. Jimin sighs in response.
“It… was okay.” Jimin replies. Was it though? Today was one of the most stressful days he has had in a while. Out of all the days, it had to be when he was alone. He didn’t want to worry you though. He knows you have a lot of plans with the other girls, helping Sarang with her wedding and all and he didn’t want to keep you from being left out.
“Was it really? You sounded a little… stressed out earlier.”
“Yeah.. but it’s okay. I’m going to have to get used to it. My patience was just tested today.”
“Mind telling me what happened? Or are you too tired?”
“No, I'm okay. Gyu just wasn’t himself today. It was all good when you left but once I put him down for his nap, he wouldn’t. Stop. Crying. It took me a while to find the reason why, but it turns out he’s having teeth pains. This little guy’s teeth are coming in and I guess it’s irritating him and he couldn’t calm down the whole day. I ended up throwing his pacifiers in the freezer and letting him chew on them. He was fine for a bit, it was on an off. I’m kinda surprised that he’s finally asleep, but then again, he spent the whole day crying and he only napped for a couple of hours--” Jimin sighs after his little rant, turning to look at you for your response, but you must’ve had a long day too. Your eyes were shut and you were softly snoring already. Jimin smiled a bit, getting up on his elbows and pressing a kiss to your temples. Then he leaned back to turn off the lamp on his side table. He went back to face Mingyu’s sleeping figure. He can see him slightly from the light coming in from the window. Jimin slowly strokes his cheek with his finger.
“It’s only going to get harder now isn’t it?” Jimin whispers to him. He sighs again.
“Pleaseee go easy on me.”
