Hey! So I FINALLY finished watching season one of the Wingfeather Saga (DANG that show is good) and it made me think of you! So I was wondering-- did you ever end up finishing the books?

Okayokay, I’m just about to finish the last book!! I’ve only got a few chapters left eeeeeeeeek!!! I’m so freaking excited to finish, I’ve heard some Things about the ending and I’m both looking forward to and dreading it… oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh.

Current Obsessions: Artham Wingfeather <3 I am plowing through this last book like lightning because of him. I stayed up to read at 1am because of him. I smile whenever he shows up in chapters. He is amazing. Such Ghostbur vibes honestly. I have also been thinking about c!rainduo as of late!!

1. Artham Wingfeather <3 Just recently watched The Wingfeather Saga tv series, and every single hekkin time he appeared on screen, I either smiled, leaned closer to the screen, squealed, made some Other Type Of Noise, waved my hands excitedly… generally radiated Happy Happy Happy. He’s such a great character 😭

2. Ghostbur :) Another wonderful character!! My very favorite, in fact! I love him and miss him so so much.

3. Talking to a friend I know irl! We’ve gotten a lot closer recently, and he’s just… so lovely. So genuinely lovely. I want the world for him he is So kind. He sends me the absolute sweetest messages :((( <33

4. Listening to music!! One of my favorite pastimes :)

5. Along the same lines, AJR! They’re my favorite band and just, ough. Love them. Love those guys, love their music, love their Sound. Gosh.

1. Ghostbur!! Hearing his voice is enough to make me grin, I freaking adore this man and everything about him <3 The character of all time. At this point I’m convinced he’ll always be my favorite.

2. Artham Wingfeather! Gosh, this broken bird of a man is so… ough. He has a very Ghostbur-effect, in the sense that just seeing his name on the page makes me smile. He has the ability to make me read 40 pages in one sitting and also read until 1am.

3. Getting a lovely email from my best friend—especially if she’s just talking about her day :) She’s amazing and I really love her and I really treasure the things she tells me <3

4. Spending time with irl friends. I’m a major introvert, and after socializing I become quite tired (like right now lol) but spending time with my dear friends is so so good <33 I like being able to eat lunch with them on Thursdays and chat.

5. Reblogging stuff on tumblr. I LOVE SORTING THINGS!!! I DO I DO I DO!!! AND DO YOU KNOW WHAT REBLOGGING WITH TAGS INVOLVES?? SORTING!!! I AM ABLE TO SORT EVERY SINGLE REBLOG INTO CATEGORIES AND IT’S SO FUN!!!

what’s the best/sweetest compliment you have ever received?

There’s been a lot :’) but the one that always comes to mind is when an irl friend looked at me, asked me to smile, and after I grinned at him he said, “Grace, you have a beautiful smile.”

That is a moment that Stands Out to me. I’d never had anyone tell me that my smile was beautiful, so it meant a lot :’)

describe your aesthetic?

Uhhh… not sure? I’m really not well-versed in aesthetic lingo lol

I wouldn’t really consider myself to have a set “aesthetic” or look or anything; it varies by the day. I like long skirts and bucket hats, but also sweatshirts and comfy trousers, and also flower-printed jeans, and oversized shirts. I’m not a fancy dresser, and I don’t wear makeup; I prefer natural, unique clothes :) I really like Starbucks Frappuccinos and Five Guys fries. I adore going to shops at night in the car. I’ll go out into the rain with no coat or umbrella. I like bugs a lot.

I don’t know, maybe that’s an aesthetic in and of itself XD

@kanerallels YES YES OKAY I WILL RAMBLE!!! Spoilers below!

IT WAS VERY VERY GOOD!!! Oh my gosh. It was really neat seeing Leeli get more chapters :D Janner’s lovely and Such an amazing character, but I often found myself wishing there’d be more chapters from other character’s point-of-views 😅 So having a bunch of Leeli chapters was rather nice!! She’s so freakin adorable oh my goodness. So pure and lovely 😭

I wasn’t too sure about the book during the first part. It took me a while to get into it 😅

HOWEVER. ONCE I REACHED PART TWO? WITH SARA AND ARTHAM AND GAMMON?? OH. MY GOSH. GUYS. GUYS. GUYS. THAT WAS BY FAR MY FAVORITE PART OF THE BOOK, PROBABLY MY FAVORITE (OR ONE OF MY FAVORITE) PARTS OF THE WHOLE SERIES, AAAAAAAAAAH

Sara & Artham quickly become one of my favorite duo’s, they’re just… 😭 They help each other!! They take care of each other!! They protect each other!! They’ve got such a special bond, truly truly. I become Obsessed in record time and started writing Sara & Artham fics before I even finished the book XD

I honestly would so 100% read an entire novel about Artham and Gammon. Like. They’re an awesome duo!!! They work well together, and the way they interact is so fun. I think a YA/adult novel about them could work so so good 😭 Andrew Peterson please I’m begging.

Clovenfast was definitely one of the more unique aspects of The Wingfeather Saga :0 I wasn’t sure what I thought about it at first, but now I think it’s pretty cool!!

Gnag 😭😭 I wasn’t expecting his story to be so sad :’0 I gotta admit, I was a little worried that he’d have a typical “fully evil 100% bad no redemption” story, so the fact that he did get redemption, even a little bit, was a welcome surprise! He just needed someone to love him 😭

PODO!!! Gosh, his death fit the story so well and was a great end to his character, but… Podo :’0 ajsfajsgajgsjafsjsf I really didn’t grieve his death at all because I thought he wasn’t actually dead and would come back later 😭 So when I realized he fully died… I don’t know, at that point I couldn’t really grieve? 😅 Because I’d already kinda known about it for a bit? ansgahsgahfsjafshsfahsfjsfs

ARTHAM AND ARUNDELLE I- GASP. THEY KISSED!!! THEY FOUND EACH OTHER AGAIN!!! THEY STILL HAVE SO MUCH LOVE FOR EACH OTHER!!! THEY KISSED!!! That made me so happy, just… aaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!! They’re gonna have a happy ending together :’D

Janner!!! I kinda knew something was gonna happen to him because of tumblr posts I’d seen, but man. I wasn’t expecting That.

I see the ending as happy and sad. Definitely very open! I think there’s lots of room for Andrew Peterson to continue the series if he wants to, while also tying up enough loose strings for it to still be a good ending.

The one thing that kinda frustrated me a bit was how Artham was handled at the end :’) He’s been such an important character with such an important, heartbreaking, complex story, and I feel like he was… very much cast aside at the end. I didn’t find it to be very satisfying. I just wish he’d had a few more chapters, a few more details on what exactly happened with him. He really just showed up at the end and explained what happened with a few terribly short lines, and like… no!!! I would like to actually read about what happened with Artham!!! Because goshdarn, his story is amazing, and I really wish more time & attention had been dedicated to it.

But other than that, it was a great ending! The Wingfeather Saga is a really good series, and I’m so glad I got into it :D It’s been so fun!! I haven’t been this invested in a book series… ever. It’s been a very interesting experience!!

Well alright if you want me to talk about Artham Wingfeather THEN LET’S TALK ABOUT ARTHAM WINGFEATHER

First of all, this poor man has had an absolutely horrible life. Like, his country is destroyed, he and his brother are captured by the villain, he’s tortured for about 2 1/2 years (I think his flashback in the 3rd book said 1000 days or something and I took that number and converted it into years and it came out with 2 1/2 so idk if Andrew meant that to be LITERAL or not but it seems correct) and finally he can’t stand it anymore, starts to give in to the crazy song, is so overcome with guilt after seeing his brother that he just BREAKS OUT and runs until he gets to a HELL FOREST where he’s attacked by insane, twisted members of his OWN PEOPLE while he can barely even remember who he is on a good day and somehow in the midst of all that he remembers his family and decides he must go protect his brother’s children at all costs.

So he STOWS AWAY ON A FANG SHIP and somehow survives there for weeks, doesn’t get found by the Fangs (how?!) nearly starves to death, finally gets to Skree and somehow manages to find his family?! Like HOW did he do that? Did he remember Podo talking about Glipwood sometime and just show up there hoping that’s where they’d be? Did they discuss where they’d go as they escaped Castle Rysen? Did he just wander around for months until he found them?!

And THEN he finds them and they’re scared of him, they think he’s a traitor or something and so they shun him and so he just BUILDS A FREAKING HOUSE in the forest along with a ton of crazy walkways going through the trees and lives there for FOUR YEARS (another rant is why, during those four years, Nia and Podo never re-evaluated him as being a threat when he NEVER HURT A SOUL during those 4 years or did ANYTHING remotely untrustworthy that we know of) because he can’t stand to be apart from those kids, he loves them so much, and then he finds LEELI and oh my gosh he’s just, so happy to be able to interact with the kids?! Later they chase him and find his walkways and he should leave them but he just can’t?! Because he loves them so much????? So he spends an afternoon with them and then it breaks his heart but he tells them to go.

AND THEN HE SAVES THEM OVER AND OVER AGAIN. “I won’t follow, but I’ll fight for them.” GAH and he thinks he’s dangerous and might hurt them but he would NEVER and when he thinks they’re dead after the fight at Anklejelly Manor he’s wandering through the wreckage crying, wailing, because he failed them too along with his brother AND THEN HE FINDS JANNER and he’s so happy he picks him up and swings him around and it’s the purest thing ever argh

And then his life is happy for like 6 weeks after NINE YEARS of loneliness, torture, pain and insanity AND THEN HE GETS CAPTURED BY THE FANGS AGAIN. AND THEY TAKE HIM AWAY AND TORTURE HIM AGAIN and he tries not to give in but he can’t stand it and right as he gives up it’s TINK and he’s gotta save his nephew and, okay, okay listen, listen

When Artham was captured with Esben he gave up and left his brother. When he’s captured a second time Tink is there. He has hope. As far as he knows Esben is dead and Tink is the king now and he is a Throne Warden. He sings the song to save this little boy he loves so much and instead of it breaking him it gives him wings and new life

Last time he left his brother, the king in prison, and left broken. This time he saved his nephew, the king, and left healed (or at least with a start at healing). I wish the series had addressed this more because I think it’s really important to his character development that he is there to rescue Tink (according to the Maker’s plan) after he had abandoned Esben last time. It’s a mirror situation and that is his redemption.

Okay that was really stream-of-consciousness and also probably sad but I need to go to bed so have this for now. (I’ll probably be able to make a more coherent post about Artham later but he’s just so good after all he’s been though but it’s hard to see how good he is unless you understand all the horrible things he went through so that’s my excuse, goodnight)
