Man, these Google Discover news tabs go from eh to meh to downright hilarious to downright depressing. Because Google thinks I love space and science and the climate, and like, yeah I do, but I don't want to be reminded or scared by certain mainstream publications looking for a click. I'll get that from scientific papers with jargon I have to use Google to understand instead 😂
All of this said, both downright hilarious and depressing at once is this banger from CNN:

I would also like to add that when I typed the alt text on my phone, autocorrect changed 'penises' to 'Denise's' and that was a wild correction and experience I just had. Sorry to all the Denise's out there lmao

Red Rose
Different colors of roses carry distinct meanings and symbolism. Here's a guide to some of the common rose colors and their associated messages:
Red Roses: Often associated with love and romance, red roses symbolize deep passion and affection. They are commonly exchanged on occasions like Valentine's Day and anniversaries.
White Roses: Representing purity and innocence, white roses are often used in weddings and symbolize new beginnings. They can also convey reverence and respect, making them suitable for funerals.
Yellow Roses: Symbolizing friendship and joy, yellow roses are a cheerful and lighthearted choice. They can be given to express happiness, gratitude, or to celebrate the bond of friendship.
Pink Roses:
Light Pink: Signifying sweetness and admiration, light pink roses convey thoughtfulness and grace.
Dark Pink: Representing gratitude and appreciation, dark pink roses express recognition and thankfulness.
Orange Roses: Vibrant and energetic, orange roses symbolize enthusiasm and desire. They can convey a sense of fascination and admiration.
Lavender Roses: Associated with enchantment and mystery, lavender roses express a sense of wonder and the magical. They can also symbolize love at first sight.
Green Roses: Uncommon in nature, green roses represent growth, fertility, and a sense of constant rejuvenation. They can also symbolize harmony and balance.
Blue Roses: While blue roses do not naturally exist, they have been created artificially and are often associated with mystery, the unattainable, and the impossible. They can symbolize the mysterious or the extraordinary.
Black Roses: Often associated with mourning and farewell, black roses can convey a sense of finality or the end of something. However, they are also sometimes used to symbolize rebirth or new beginnings.
Remember that the meanings associated with rose colors can vary across cultures and personal preferences, and it's always a good idea to consider the recipient's taste and the specific context when choosing roses for a particular occasion.

in my mind adrien like literally did not have internet access until he met nino. the parental controls just went SO hard on his devices that he basically could do nothing except text nathalie and do his homework. when adrien wanted to watch a new anime or something he had to submit a formal request to his parents via nathalie to get approval. and after he watched it he would like put notebook paper on his laptop screen and trace over his favorite scenes so he could look at them again later. that kid didn't even have google images. when nino told adrien, 2 days after he met him, to give him his discord handle so that they could vc and play video games together, adrien gave him the blankest stare of all time. nino almost started crying. what do you mean you haven't heard of discord. here give me your phone. dude why is your phone so broken. you can't download apps. you can't even open a browser. are you okay? are you being abused? no listen I can help you. you don't have to live like this bro. would you like to pirate a movie

Just a quick announcement--I've uploaded the revised version of Virtue's End to the original demo link, thereby replacing it, and have moved the original demo that was there to a new folder for safekeeping (for those of you who would still like to read/replay it).
I'm not sure if the move will cause any errors so I've kept the revised link up for now but if all goes well, I will be updating the game using the original link from now on.

hey if you write in microsoft word, you should get libre office. it's free, constantly updated, doesn't use AI, and has all the features you're used to. there are lots of user guides and add-ons to make it as easy for you as possible, and it's been around for a long time now.
write in google docs instead? try ellipsus. it's in beta and free to join and use. it's being actively worked on and improved, openly opposes AI, and has all the features you need for a collaborative document tool while also being extremely easy to navigate. it's also made by fans, for fans, with a promise that anything you can write is allowed.
i've used both of these programs extensively and can vouch for them, ellipsus especially. ellipsus currently only imports .md files if you wanna move your stuff over, but gdocs can export those no problem and copy + pasting rich text also works fine. (they're also going to add more formats.) ellipsus also has an import to ao3 function that pastes your document's raw html into a new work window as long as you're logged into ao3. remember how gdocs formats weird in ao3 unless you do some html fuckery to fix it? yeah, this makes that a non-issue.
don't give big corporations your money and/or data. you can always start small, and picking a better program to write fic in is a great place to begin. i promise these programs are both way more worth your time than their mainstream counterparts.
