So, how is everyone doing with this whole nightmare hellscape that is COVID-19 Pandemic? For those of you who don’t know, I’ve been indefinitely laid off from the job I LOVE, Bar Manager at @gooddogbar. Bars/Restaurants are really suffering & Good Dog is no exception. They are still making amazing food & drinks with outdoor seating so please go & give them all your money (if you can). Unfortunately, in order for them to continue to stay open, some sacrifices had to be made & they can no longer keep me on payroll while this is all going on. We still have a wonderful, loving relationship & I hope that I might be able to rejoin the team again in the future. If not, well... we had a good run. I’m announcing this on Social Media because I’ve had a few conversations with people who were unaware & this is my attempt to keep everything from being awkward. Also, if anyone is looking for a hardworking, charismatic, cocktail loving bar industry lifer... shoot me a message! Mostly, I want to thank Heather & Dave for giving me a chance, showing me more than I ever thought I could have learned about this business & making me feel so important & loves over the past 8 years. #BURGERQUEST: Our next spot brings us to the home of the Philly Cheesesteak! While this meaty treat overshadows all else, #Philly has some really amazing dives and new #gastropubs that are really making waves! #GOODDOGBAR is quite an eclectic and really odd but amazing spot. Odd... Why? Well it's a craft beer bar and pub food spot that is dedicated to dog lovers... 3 floors are dedicated to doggie ephemera, tchotkes, and more. Besides the unusual love for mans best friend, this place is all business and no joke when it comes to their craft beer selections and their #HAMBURGERS!!! A bit pricey, but the price is justified due to the top notch and high quality ingredients used. You are getting 1/2 lb. of ground sirloin, brioche buns, #gourmetcheese and our personal favorite - the fries are a mix of kennebec & sweet potato!!! WOW!!! The more popular burger is the THE GOOD DOG, due to it having the cheese stuffed inside. Not really a fan, only because it takes away all the moisture of the meat, but also because we constantly burn ourselves with the hot cheese. So for $1.50 less, at $11 bucks we can't help to love the TRADITIONAL #BURGER , where we get to appreciate the true taste of the 1/2 lb. sirloin 😃 --- THE GOOD DOG BAR & RESTAURANT - 224 S 15th St, Philadelphia, PA 19102 - featured on #FOODNETWORK!!! This is my #StarcrossedSweater that I knitted & finished during #Quarantine. It’s made from @malabrigoyarn in black & Anniversaire. It was a dream to knit & my first time doing a #BottomUpSweater! @jacquelinecieslak really is an amazing garment designer & I knew she wouldn’t lead me astray with this. The best part about this sweater is that my bosses, Heather & Dave from @gooddogbar gave me the GC to buy the yarn for my birthday! I’ve since been indefinitely laid off due to the COVID-19 crisis, & while we may not work together again... I’m so happy to have so many amazing memories with them & this awesome sweater as a physical reminder of their kindness & guidance.
