AU where instead of becoming the red hood and taking over gotham’s criminal underground at 18-19, jason todd decides to go back to school and graduate from college, and just generally live the life his parents (read: catherine and willis todd) would have wanted him to have that they unfortunately couldn't have given him due to their circumstances.

and what does jason get his college degree in, might you ask? he graduates with full honours as a political science major, minoring in english with plans to work in public policy.

and y'know, after graduating and working for a couple of years, things seem to be actually looking up for jason. he has good friends, a stable income with a job that he actually enjoys, he owns a home, his romantic life is pretty decent, and he's actually healing from the trauma of his death. there’s nothing that could possibly go wrong in his life, right? not when it’s been the best it’s ever been in years, right?

well, that’s where you’re wrong because when he comes home from his 9-5 shift, jason finds the batman himself brooding in the dark while sitting criss cross applesauce on his very new leather sofa.

and just when jason thought he was having a good week.

(this idea was kinda inspired by this post that i made a while back, where jason goes back to school, and now i’m having too many ‘what would jason have become if he didn’t become the red hood?’ thoughts running through my brain because of it, lmao.)

Just like. The military gear. The dog tags. Calcharo gripping the chain of his tags and them tightening around your neck, and the bruises that form in your soft skin don't so much as make his breath hitch. Your fragility just makes it harder for him to pull away because he's not used to laying his hands on and sinking his teeth into something so soft. A little part of him wants to end your suffering in this awfully cruel world, but a bigger part wants to see your shell crack open for a stronger version of you to blossom. Maybe he can call it a passion project if his aim is just to train you into a fitting mercenary. He wants to tell you something but doesn't know how to make the words come to life, and maybe he's not even really sure what he wants to say. His cold eyes just roam over you as your fingers twitch at your sides, gaze locked on his features and every twinge of his expression. The stoicism of his body language can't exactly hide the gentleness with which he loosens his grip, and tilts his head up like he's going to open his mouth.

But that doesn't happen. Calcharo folds, looks away, his thumb smoothes over the misshapen engraving of a dog on his tags, and he says nothing. If you considered the possibility of him being gentle, however, you were gravely misinformed. The slack on the chain is only to contrast how hard he pulls on it afterwards, yanking you up so your eyes have no choice but to meet his steely, threatening silver ones. Finally, he speaks.

"This is merely an exchange of interests." If you were more sure of yourself, you would be certain that his eyes had started to roam. "Don't mistake this as anything but a moment of respite."

Could that even be possible when he's knelt over you? When he's looming with hands itching for a grip on your clothes? When he strung his tags around your neck for you to wear until he's finished? It seems he'll just leave you guessing. Guessing, wondering, hoping, until the moment you part not knowing how soon he'll seek you out again.

So to begin this, I'd like to assume everyone has seen the things I've reblogged recently, if not I highly suggest you go and read them.

I never wanted this all to become public, I'm someone who likes to keep their private life, you know, private. I didn't want to have all this drama over something that I thought could be dealt with privately, but ultimately my hand was forced.

Now onto the main part.

I'm going to be taking a step back from this fandom, and I can't say for how long. I'm sorry for those who have made a request and to the raffle winners who's prizes I haven't posted but I am unable to bring myself to write at this time, maybe I will soon but for now it doesn't seem to be on the table.

I do think it’s so interesting how Nandermo can only be canon if Nandor is human. It’s the way he can finally express his feelings for Guillermo when the eternal life is not a heavy thought that affects the relationship.

They were happy, they were comfortable and most important, they were together. And that’s something that we will never see on screen with Guillermo as human and Nandor as vampire.

Do I like the way that alternative ending made the whole show a dream? Hell no, I fucking hate those types of endings, it’s the most overused and lazy ending someone could ever make. But it’s so important to me how it shows a life where they can be together without restrictions.

the art im making is for if mdzs was an ace attorney game, playing from WWX's POV to solve various mysteries/cases over the course of the plot. so this scene would be from turnabout goddess, which would loosely cover the dafan mountain mystery.

cases include:

Turnabout Revenge (Mo Manor, quick introductory first case)

Turnabout Goddess (Dafan mountain, the good times flashback)

Turnabout Saber (the man-eating castle (omg hiii nhs))

The Blind Turnabout (Yi City arc)

Turnabout Deviation (the Koi Tower conference, Empathy on NMJ ala turnabout memories or beginnings. opening cutscene is his qi deviation)

The Blood-Soaked Turnabout (second Burial Mounds siege, flashbacks: Xuanwu, Sunshot, YLLZ, Nightless City massacre)

Turnabout Lotus Seeds (testimony about JGY, tree scene, golden core reveal, bathtub scene. opening cutscene could be JGS' death but that would make it canon rather than ambiguous)

the problem with splitting novel!mdzs into turnabouts is that flashbacks are a huge chunk of the book but they don't have mysteries/ cases to solve so they've gotta be lumped together with present day stuff. imo? many of the flashbacks would likely have to be abridged so they could be retold ala DL-6, SL-9, or the fourth grade incident, where characters talk about it over some pieces of art. this is really difficult when theres a metric ton of unspoken, complex, and signifcant history between every character lmao

there's not as much of a problem with the cql timeline but i have not finished it. so.

the opening cutscenes in ace attorney always show the murder and/or the murderer plotting. the first cutscene of the game would be MXY summoning WWX, muttering about getting revenge on his family (it would also be good for him to mention the yllz being dead because that's how the novel starts.) cut to WWX's POV as he wakes up covered in blood and the investigation segment begins.

for investigations of monsters (goddess, saber, etc) the cutscene would be a scene of some poor throwaway cultivator getting their shit wrecked.

it would be cool to make a breakdown for JGY but again I need to review that scene cause I don't know who I'd base him on. maybe Vasquez or Dahlia.
