i finished watching Death Mark 2
I have to agree with the majority that the writing seems... flat. Specially Yashiki's intelligence. I have always ALWAYS hated when someone makes an already inteligent character, dumb, just so the antagonists/others look smarter. Like, that's a horrible thing to do, it shows how much you dont have the skills to progress a story.
There are ways to demostrate a character is undergoing a "negative" character development, such as trauma, that 100% Yashiki has. Like, show him being more paranoid about Mary, that the reason he trusted Michiho and Doryou it's because they seemed human and he wanted to believe in humanity, so the fact that they ended up being not only a ghost but a DOLL, impacted him better (or worse in this case), so he continues his obsession with the spirits and Mary.
Heck, even you could have improved the fanservice they do sexualizing the female characters by making Yashiki hallucinate they are dolls! The potential is there, but they went the easy route with the "teacher/student" age gap thingy when there's already a ship with an age gap (Yashiki/Mashita) that people wanted to see better!
Hence why i didnt like the two girls. I honestly HATED they were revived. It didnt feel like a reward for the hero doing a good job. It felt like bullshit.
Out of the new characters i felt like Konoe and Abe were the most interesting. Sakamoto tried to be a more serious Hiroo but failed since the latter went through development already, so it felt like a waste.
I did feel bad for the spirits, which i think it's the goal. I didnt like the CGs (please, hire the previous artist or at least dont put googly eyes on everything), but their stories were sadder. But again, the point of Death Mark is exactly that: save the humans AND the spirits to get to the afterlife. Not to revive them. The point is to feel the spirits pain because you couldnt save them in life, but at least give the the peace they deserve while focusing on the living.
Not everything is complains though. I loved seeing the previous cast. They were the shining stars in the whole story, with better development. Even baby Hazuki having a little charming DLC was sweet to see. And The Departed was cool as a ghost and concept.
Anyway i hope Death Mark 3 gives up more of Mashita and Yashiki and the final mixure with the NG cast.
(Also Maruhashi, my beloved, you wont ever be missed o7)

Jump Festa 2024 SAKAMOTO DAYS Special Stage
(Part 1) Here are some of the things that were discussed, & exchanges that the guests had, which i manage to understand from the panel. I did not include those that i couldn't quite catch. Apologise if i misheard anything cuz my listening for Japanese isn't top-notch 🙏
Introduction
Guests for SAKAMOTO DAYS JF2024 panel are Sōsuke Ishikawa (editor in charge of SakaDays; from here on shall be referred as Ishikawa-san) and Ryōta Suzuki (special guest appearance; from here on shall be referred as Suzuki-san)
Ishikawa-san did not cosplay as anyone this time (lol; previously he cosplayed as Tarō Sakamoto in JF2022, fyi). However, he wore Sakamoto's Store apron this year & said that it is no longer sold in Jump Shop but there is a newer version which fans can still purchase.
Ishikawa-san mentioned that now that the series has reached its 3rd year anniversary, the battle with Slur is heating up which makes it more exciting to witness its future development.
When Suzuki-san came on stage he made a joke about how there's an X mark (meaning Slur lol) at the spot designated for him. He jokingly commented that we would chance upon so many Slurs (X marks) in our everyday life so he's hyperalert of his surroundings lmao.
1st Segment - Suzuki-san's Favourite Manga Scenes
Suzuki-san chose chapter 16, "Department Store War": the limited edition Sugar-chan backpack sale scene. He expressed that he could really feel Sakamoto's love for his daughter, Hana-chan, in this chapter. And seeing how Sakamoto is now fighting as a Dad, & not as a hitman, really stood out here & it's amazing to see. He also praised the series' comedic scenes and remarked that those grannies in the chapter are way more scarier than any other assassins in the series.
Ishikawa-san added that as a backpack enthusiast, he felt that he need to get his hands on a Sugar-chan backpack too.
Suzuki-san's next favourite manga scene is chapter 28, "First Rate" (or "Top Notch" whichever yall prefer), specifically Seba versus Shin & Heisuke. Suzuki-san recounted his experience when reading this chapter, he wondered how Shin would fight an invisible person & moreover Shin couldnt read his mind when Seba wore the invisibility suit. But then Heisuke came to assist Shin, and Suzuki-san praised Heisuke for being a great guy who not only consoled Hana-chan when she cried (cuz she was left by herself in store) & told her that Piisuke would help find them. Ishikawa-san also agreed that Heisuke is a really good guy!
Suzuki-san explained that he had put lots of thoughts into choosing his favourite scenes as he took into account those people who have yet to read the series. He actually wanted to add a scene with "the strongest grandpa" Takamura! Suzuki-san confirmed it when Ishikawa-san guessed if it was the Tokyo Tower-slicing scene. Suzuki-san remarked that he was mindblown when that scene happened.
Ishikawa-san was asked to provide his thoughts on Suzuki-san's scene choices. He said that Sakamoto is always fighting a lot so seeing him take a breather and get to do a normal everyday life kind of stuff plus those hilarious (department store war) scenes was refreshing so he's glad Suzuki-san chose that chapter. As for chapter 28, the Seba versus Shin & Heisuke happened to be one of his favourites too. He enjoyed how Shin & Heisuke both try to adapt in the battle, with Shin not being able to mind-read, but the two never once gave up as they pushed on to defeat Seba, who has the invisibility ability.
2nd Segment - Special Q&A with Suzuki-sensei (done behind-the-scenes)
You may refer to the JF2024 Q&A questions which I have previously translated.
Q1. ALTERNATIVE CAREERS // Ishikawa-san thought that all the characters' alternative careers made sense. As for Suzuki-san, he was absolutely convinced that Sakamoto would have opened a ramen shop business & be the manager there. He added that Sakamoto's current shop could pass as a ramen shop as it already looked the part so he was really surprised with the home improvement/hardware store manager answer lol. He also commented that Nagumo is very handsome so him being an actor or model makes a lot of sense. As for Ishikawa-san, he also added that he can already picture Heisuke to still be in training even after he becomes a Chef lmaooo.
Q2. REST DAYS // Suzuki-san was just fanboying over Osaragi 😂 He said "Osaragi-san is the best and she's super cute!" and Ishikawa-san agreed. Ishikawa-san said she reminds him of a cat! Ishikawa-san further stated that, according to Suzuki-sensei, Nagumo is the kind who can switch between On & Off modes easily. Sensei also said that he would sometimes just sit on his bed on his day off, with his hair all messy, and just do Sudoku puzzles. Ishikawa-san confessed that he never expected such information though it's interesting, and then Suzuki-san chimed in & said that everyone generally likes guys with gaps (aka gap moe. Meaning: contrast between one’s appearance and personality, or the difference between someone’s actual personality and from first impression you had of them). Suzuki-san also added that Nagumo is pretty sly.
Q3. COOKING ABILITIES // Suzuki-san never would have guessed that Osaragi can cook! He even joked that Osaragi would cut her food/ingredients using her buzzsaw & then they joked that she'd even cut through the kitchen counter lmaooo. As for Ishikawa-san, he felt that Osaragi is good at cooking home-cooked meals. Then moving on to Yotsumura (the goat), Ishikawa-san stated that he actually asked Suzuki-sensei what Yotsumura's specialty was & Sensei stated that Yotsumura can cook just about anything -from Italian, French to Japanese cuisines you name it, anything at all! Lastly, Ishikawa-san remarked that since Mafuyu is a clean freak or a germophobe, he probably would not touch anything, much less cooking. Suzuki-san seconded this & went on to say that Mafuyu would never cook at all.
Q4. AOI & SAKAMOTO FIRST MEETING // Suzuki-san commented that Sakamoto being all shy, hesitant & fidgety is super cute & adorable. Ishikawa-san thought Aoi has great communication skills as Aoi strikes him as the type who would instantly speak what's on her mind so she must have been really worried for Sakamoto at that time (seeing him w blood).
Q5. SUZUKI-SENSEI'S MESSAGE TO SHIN & SAKAMOTO // Suzuki-san remarked that while Shin doesn't look like the series MC -cuz he imagined the MC to be someone really strong- he felt that Shin & the rest of the characters around him have made an impact & things have been exciting thanks to them too. Ishikawa-san pointed out that Shin is more of a "growth" type character. Comparing him to Sakamoto, who could just defeat anyone single-handedly and easily, Ishikawa-san explained that Shin doesn't have all that but no matter the obstacles & difficulties thrown his way, he constantly tried his best & never gave up, and that's what makes one want to root for him. Suzuki-san also expressed his opinion on how he feels like Sakamoto is the “I got your back” type of person, to which Ishikawa-san agreed, saying that whenever Shin is in a pinch, Sakamoto would always come to his rescue.

for vessel's recent piano intro during rain, i don't think it's ghibli! instead, i want to say it's a song called "merry christmas, mr. lawrence" by ryuichi sakamoto. (think he was playing around the one minute mark.) it's a similar melodic style of playing - if i'm wrong, no worries, but i saw people asking what song he might be doing, so i thought i'd weigh in. have a good one!
Awesome, I did give it a listen, and it does sound almost exactly alike! If you'd like credit for this wondrous discovery, feel free to let me know!

Koyoharu Gotouge, why did you have to hurt my little, fragile, glass heart like this 😥 💔?
This moment made me respect Kagaya Ubuyashiki so much. Despite some of his stupid decisions here and there and questionable actions, his death got me going "Good night, sweet prince. Your slayers shall kill Muzan and join you soon."
Kagaya got dragged into Muzan's mess, being cursed with an illness that made him and all generations before him frail and weak. That was generational trauma at its finest! Kagaya also had to carry out the duty of leading people to kill Muzan to clean up the Demon King's mess and keep everyone safe. He also had a family to care for and continue in hopes of lifting the curse.
Yet, did he become so scared of death? Did he desire immortality and pull a stunt like Muzan's? No. He took his hardship with grace, accepted death as a part of existence, and did all he could to make his mark and serve others, even if it was from the shadows. So, so unlike Muzan, who abhorred dying so much he grew impatient with the doctor who gave him help and went full Karen, killing the guy and unleashing a demon plague. And in death, Kagaya had what Muzan did not: a family by his side and love. And he showed it all in front of Muzan with a confident smile, ending it all with a bang to weaken the Demon King, even a bit.
I mean, look at his face in this panel. It's just so innocent, so pure, so peaceful. Almost beautiful even. That great pain Kagaya had, I think, he knew was going to end there and now, and he believed that his final strike with the slayers will end the generational curse. Good night, sweet Prince, indeed.

Leonardo DiCaprio in The Revenant (Alejandro G. Iñárritu, 2015)
Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson, Will Poulter, Forrest Goodluck, Paul Anderson, Lukas Haas, Grace Dove. Screenplay: Mark L. Smith, Alejandro G. Iñárritu, based on a novel by Michael Punke. Cinematography: Emmanuel Lubezki. Production design: Jack Fisk. Film editing: Stephen Mirrione. Music: Alva Noto, Ryuichi Sakamoto.
The Revenant is an impressive accomplishment, full of tension and surprises, with fine performances by Leonardo DiCaprio as the fur trader Hugh Glass; Tom Hardy as John Fitzgerald, the man who leaves Glass to die in the wilderness; and Domhnall Gleeson as Andrew Henry, the captain of the fur-trapping expedition who aids Glass in his pursuit of revenge against Fitzgerald. To my mind, the film seems less than meets the eye, though what meets the eye when Emmanuel Lubezki is the cinematographer is spectacular. It's filled with awe-inspiring scenery and makes good use of director Alejandro G. Iñárritu's characteristic long tracking takes, for which Lubezki fully deserved his third Academy Award, becoming one of the most honored people in his field. The film had a notoriously difficult shoot, owing to the fact that it takes place almost entirely outdoors during harsh weather, and it went wildly over-budget. In the end, it was a major hit, more than making back its costs and getting strong critical support and 12 Oscar nominations, of which it won three -- for DiCaprio, Lubezki, and Iñárritu. The visual effects blend seamlessly into the live action, especially in the harrowing grizzly attack. And yet I have a feeling of overkill about the film, an expensive and overlavish treatment of a tale of survival and revenge -- great and familiar themes that have here been overlaid with the best that today's money can buy. The film concentrates on Glass's suffering at the expense of giving us insight into his character. It substitutes platitudes -- "Revenge is in God's hands" -- for wisdom. And what wisdom it ventures upon, like Glass's native American wife's (Grace Dove) saying, "The wind cannot defeat the tree with strong roots," is undercut by the absence of characterization: What, exactly, are Glass's roots?

Snow Man’s Snow Life - Transform into Sengoku Warlords! 1
With Children’s Day fast approaching, Watanabe Shota and Abe Ryohei wear armors and transform into warriors. A talk about historical figures!
"History has that sense of wonder. I like topics like Ancient Rome!"
"Someone who has excellent intelligence is more fascinating than a warlord."
Abe’s weak point is history!? Who is his favorite historical figure?
Watanabe Shota and Abe Ryohei show dignified expressions while wearing armor. Sengoku Warriors who time leaped into the present!?
Abe Ryohei: I had the chance to wear amazing armor when I appeared in (Ichikawa) Ebizo’s ABKAI 2019 - SANEMORI.
Watanabe Shota: Ah, that’s right! That’s how it was for Abe-chan and Date-sama (Miyadate Ryota).
Abe: It was heavy. I was able to wear nice armor. It felt like it was for the Boys’ May Festival. (laughs)
Watanabe: Wasn’t your armor color red that time too?
Abe: Yeah!
Watanabe: It’s because of that memory that instead of novelty, I think “as expected, it suits Abe-chan”.
Abe: That makes me happy! It might be because it’s black and less bulky but Shota looks like a ninja when you’re not wearing your warrior’s helmet.
Watanabe: Ahahaha! But this was quite heavy~
Abe: It was. It’s why we got excited. It felt like we were wearing real armor.
Watanabe: Because of that weight I realized that this is a project for Children’s Day (laughs).
Abe: I didn’t think I’d wear a warrior’s helmet as an adult (laughs). They said that the sword I had today was as heavy as a real one!
Watanabe: So that means that people from the past were fighting while carrying this weight!?
Abe: Their arm strength is unbelievable. We had a sword fight in “Takizawa Kabuki ZERO” using lighter armor, right?
The armors we prepared this time were modeled after Maeda Yukimura and Tokugawa Ieyasu.
Abe: I am Maeda Yukimura and Shota’s is Tokugawa Ieyasu.
Watanabe: I somehow know Tokugawa Ieyasu, but who is Maeda Yukimura?
Abe: ... I don’t know (laughs).
Watanabe: Eh!? Even Abe-chan doesn’t know?
Abe: Actually I’m not very knowledgeable about history. I’m not good at Social Studies.
Watanabe: Even Abe-chan has a weak point (laughs).
Abe: Even though History often appears in quiz shows... it’s why I lose (laughs).
Is there a historical figure or warrior who appeared in a drama that you’re interested in?
Abe: History... How about you? (laughs)
Watanabe: As for me, I’m interested in the person who made the map but I forgot his name.
Abe: Inoo Tadataka?
Watanabe: Maybe? (laughs) The person who made the map by surveying the area himself. I asked how the map was made when I was in class and just thought “that’s amazing!”.
Abe: Right! Seeing how the places you walked on translated into lines.
Watanabe: Maybe I see smart people as more fascinating than warlords?
Abe: If that’s so then Tokugawa Ieyasu is also someone who relied more on his intelligence than his strength.
Watanabe: That’s nice. I also prefer brain games to bloody fights. Like someone who invents things. If we pick an icon in modern times, then maybe someone like Einstein.
Abe: Einstein’s good too.
Watanabe: I think the words he said then still resonate with us living in the current time. “A person who never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” I really like that quote.
Abe: Even Mark Zuckerberg seems like he will become a historical figure.
Watanabe: He will. Michael Jackson will also become one. It would be good if Sakamoto Ryoma is also a sure winner.
Abe: Among those frequently mentioned, I like Uesugi Kenshin.
Watanabe: Who was he again?
Abe: Kenshin is also a general that fought against Takeda Shingen. I’m not good at History so this is the only thing I remember (laughs).
Watanabe: I also don’t see a lot of period dramas.
Abe: The drama I saw at Sunday Theater, “JIN” (’09, TBS), was interesting!!
Watanabe: There might be a lot of those fantasy-type shows during our time.
Abe: Yeah. Like Nobunaga Concerto (’14, Fuji TV)!
Watanabe: Yoshitsune too. Something like “they actually survived”, those kinds of fantasy period dramas are interesting.
Abe: Yes. Like it was actually a body double that died. The more I look back at history the more I get a sense of wonder. I like topics like Ancient Rome! Around the time Heliocentric theory came about.
Watanabe: You somehow said something good! (laughs)
Abe: I like the first person who insisted that it’s not the sun and planets revolving around the earth, but it’s the earth revolving around the sun!
Watanabe: It definitely has that sense of wonder!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“As expected, it suits Abe-chan~ It feels like you’d be in a Taiga drama in the future,” Watanabe sings praises, “ Abe-chan is for NHK, while I feel like I’m cosplaying (laughs)”. The armor was quite heavy, so Watanabe, who couldn’t stand, asks the staff for help and finally makes it in front of the camera. But as expected of those who performed “Takizawa Kabuki”, their posture while holding the swords was perfect.
Watanabe: There was no hesitation.
Abe: We naturally drop our hips when we have a sword.

As someone who does know a good bit about skating lemme just add to this point by point.
First: He was in the final. It's absolutely correct that that would basically make him 6th in the world even if the Grand Prix is technically not Worlds. He is good. This is the type of event most skaters, even on an international stage and in the top of the top, never reach. It's really impressive. I've talked at length about it here.
Something I didn't mention in the post was the GP qualifiers and how they're decided. I won't go into specifics but Japan always hosts a qualifier known as NHK Trophy and with hosting comes the privilege of getting a couple free spots (exact number depends on discipline) in the lineup to debut skaters in the GP or give a skater only assigned once otherwise a second assignment. The thing to note here is that Yuuri is not assigned to NHK. In figure skating language this means that Yuuri definitely earned both his assignments purely of his own merit, no NHK advantages needed.
Second: He's Japan's Ace. Multiple things here:
1) Having a nickname that prevalent is an achievement of its own. There aren't many who have nicknames which leave smaller skating communities and him being Japan's Ace seems like a universal nickname. That's his title everywhere. I'm sitting here trying to think of all the skaters I know who have sticking titles like this and my list is currently quite short.
2) He's Japan's ace because he's the best skater in the country. This is confirmed by the fact that, well, we don't hear of any other Japanese skaters in the GP. They might've just been left out for time but still, if they were good enough, they would've been considered someone to watch out for and have been mentioned.
Another confirmation is that on the JSF website, Yuuri is the skater on both figure skating banners. If they had literally anyone else to put there, they would've* since this is basically the JSF admitting that the Japanese figure skating field is very shallow. Not even just men's, they could've put a woman, a pair, ice dancers, anyone, they could've put goddamn Minami but they didn't. They do not have anyone else this big. He is the top of Japanese figure skating. Oh, and he's also the only men's skater listen in top certified athletes on the JSF website.
*I imagine there's some fan service here, people wanna see Yuuri. The other banners are just the same pic which was probably for time but they took the time to draw two Yuuri's when they, as shown above, have two women's skaters with faces right there. Just draw any woman skating, slap the given hair onto them and bam, you've got another skater to put on the banner. Either the JSF are doing everything they can to market figure skating as a men's sport to attract male skaters or the women here are not even close to Yuuri's level (which sounds unlikely but anyway, Yuuri being on two banners was a deliberate decision).
Third: His trademark elements. Let's just go in order:
The triple axel is, to put it midly, really fuckin hard. It's 3,5 rotations in a split second and the only triple jump categorised alongside the quadruple jumps because of its difficulty. Sure, it's everywhere in the top of men's figure skating now but this show took place 7 years ago, at the start of the quad revolution (this probably happened a little earlier in universe but still) and while 3A's were very much still commonplace in the top, they weren't seen how they are now.
SO, take this information and then add that it's his signature jump. He's known for his ability to perform it beautifully. Sure, the 4A is Ilia Malinin's jump just because he's the only one in who can really land it but Yuuri doesn't have that luxury, the 3A was first landed 1987. It's his signature for the reason the 2A is Kaori Sakamoto's. He's just that good at it.
Step sequences are in large part the mark of artistry in a program. There's a lot more to it, but if your step sequences are gorgeous, you've usually got the other stuff down as well but if you're so good at steps that you're known for it, you're a certified artist in skating. I wouldn't be shocked if Yuuri's the type to get level 4's on his step sequences (level 4 basically means it was very difficult and complex). Actually,
the element list from Yuuri's short program in Sochi shows that he got a level 3 on his step sequence (StSq3) and considering he barely landed his 3A and, ya know, wasn't doing so hot at that final in general, that's still pretty good. (Also, I will go insane if I hear someone say Yuuri did poorly at the Sochi GFP ONE MORE TIME, I SWEAR TO G-)
Spins are one of the harder trademarks to get, at least in my experience, since they're hard to judge as the average viewer. To the untrained eye, they all look really fast and incredible. Even people who I'd expect to be known for their spins, because they're consistently really good, aren't.
Then again, it can sometimes be a little random what people get as signatures since it's more what people latch onto, not necessarily that said skater is the best of the best at said element. But you need to be pretty good in either instance so yeah, his spins are excellent, trust that.
Fourth: Viktor is impressed by his musicality. That's it. The best person in the sport, the most decorated figure skater ever, the 5 time World and GPF champion who outscored second place at the Sochi GPF by 34.30 points, basically admitted that Yuuri's musicality is beyond his. And Viktor doesn't suffer from an I suck mentality, he knows he's good but still thinks Yuuri's got the stuff to win. He knows good when he sees it.
Fifth: Yuuri is the most unreliable narrator ever and should not write an autobiography. Every time he puts himself down, there's canon proof to diprove his point. Failed miserably at Sochi? Read this meta and the first point of this reblog. Dime a dozen? See JSF website, he's the only male skater in the top and the one on the banners. Give me any selfdegrading statement of his and I bet I can find canon proof of it being blatantly untrue.
Like OP said, Viktor also calls him out on this and Yuuri admits that he's insecure and thus unreliable in his view of himself. It's just straight up canon. No pussling it together required.
Sixth: He knows. Yuuri might be insecure but even he can see that he's a very good skater, even if it's often interrupted by his anxiety. He wouldn't have made it as far as he did if he had no confidence at all. Friends, family, and coach can only do so much to push you to keep going and I love the Katsukis but I don't see them being the ones to keep pushing.
He might be known as "The Skater With the Biggest Glass Heart" (I can't remember the actual wording, feel free to correct me) but he sure ain't weak. He's canonically stubborn as hell and doesn't stop for even his anxiety. Get lost, brain chemicals, Yuuri's gotta go slay.
So uh, TL;DR: Yuuri is a very good skater.
I'm not saying anything new, I'm probably being annoying repeating things we all know. But I feel like talking about how skilled Yuuri is, from the perspective of someone who hardly understands anything about skating.
I know he was at the GPF and that's a big deal. He was the 6th best skater worldwide.
I know that he's called Japan's Ace, so he's the best skater of his country.
I know his signature jump is incredibly hard, and that he's known for both his step sequences and his spins.
I know that Viktor, the person at the top of the sport, is impressed with his musicality.
I know that he calls himself a dime a dozen, but that I shouldn't believe him. Because when Viktor points out he has the skill to win, Yuuri says he lacks confidence - basically telling me he's unreliable where it comes to judging his own skill.
He can challenge Viktor. Viktor knows it.
Also, Yuuri knows he's great.
#sure hes not viktor but yall viktors score of 335.76 at the sochi gpf is to this day higher that any score ever skated#since the 6.0 system was replaced with the IJS in 2004#and yeah its been revised since 2015 from GOEs being +/-5 instead of +/-3 but they're still relatively comparable#dldr number 2 viktor is op#but anyway can you tell i like ranting in great detail about how good a skater yuuri is and how much you should not trust his narration?#hope you enjoyed this 1261 word long excuse to infodump#my autism is very happy UuU#reblog#yuri on ice#yoi#yuri on ice meta#yoi meta#katsuki yuuri

"You?" Sougo makes sure he sounds surprised; you narrow your shoulders in as if to hide the heat on your ears. "Nah, that can't be right. I think I heard wrong. What did you say?"
This is Sougo. He likes to be difficult. He likes to play games. He likes to mercilessly tease until he sees redness and fidgeting, hands wringing together as you whisper again, almost in shame, about how you want it, to be spanked.
He probably already knew too, probably sniffed it out from you from the first encounter (Sougo knows a thing or two about degeneracy, believe him), and was just abiding his time, playing dumb and patiently waiting, like a jackal in the tall leaves, waiting just waiting for you to hop closer and closer, by your own violation, until he bites. Or, spanks, in this case. Or maybe even both, if you've got another confession for him to pluck up.
Sougo takes off his jacket in preparation and leans back, getting comfortable. "Hmm. Still don't get it." When you look at him in confusion, a smile finally breaks, handsome and terrible.
"Show me."
Sakamoto Tatsuma:
For a moment, he thinks that the ground's gone and swallowed him up, floored as he is. A whoosh of laughter escapes him, strangled.
He hasn't- maybe he's heard- it can't be- really?
He looks to you for confirmation, his laugh ending on a question mark. Your eyes dart away for a moment before coming back to peer at him from under your lashes, nipping your lip. Oh. Oh.
Tatsuma... he doesn't know. He's never considered. Not even on a whim. Especially on his sweet girl. Never once has he ever dreamt of— he sucks in a breath.
"Idon'twantothurtyou." His voice spills out. It's not the act itself that he has an objection to; he just doesn't think he'd ever forgive himself if he harmed you, in any way, even like this. He's stronger than he looks, more than people know. He's the Dragon of Katsurahama for a lot of reasons. This is one of them.
Your eyes widen and frantically shake your head, grabbing his hands within your warm ones. "You won't! I promise!" He looks at you doubtfully. "I mean, we need to do it right, of course, and yeah, there'll be a bit of pain, but I..." You trail off, suddenly unable to meet his gaze. "... I like it," you whisper, flushing deeply.
You like it. Spontaneously, Tatsuma's eyes flick down to your lower form, covered by your kimono. Despite his hesitations, his mind is naturally curious, wondering, uncovering the layers and pushing down your panties, exposing the soft skin of your behind. He's felt you up there a lot, always playful and handsy to squeeze, but to spank? A whole different thing. But his merchant imagination pushes beyond, for a test run, and Tatsuma is wondering, if- if he did, and his hand came down, hard, to lay against your ass, smarting the sensitive skin, and your breath hitching as your hips jerk up from his lap and whimpers of pained pleasure hiccupping from you-
Aw, hell. Another laugh bursts from him, incredulous, startling you. Now that his curiosity is stabbing him, Tatsuma doesn't think he'd be able to stop himself from trying it out. Just this once. Maybe. Hopefully, he helplessly thinks.
Sakata Gintoki:
Usually, Gintoki likes it when people tell him after he's had his morning pudding, and not before, any and all breaking news, because it's shit like this- the plate falling out of his loosened grasp and clattering to the floor, along his precious pudding with it- that happens.
You make a hesitant move to help him clean the mess, but he stops you in your place with a raised hand, tutting as he bends his knees to inspect the ceramic shards and deformed sweet lump in its center. It doesn't look like he'll be able salvage the dessert without bleeding a mouth.
"Sorry," you stammer. "Wait here, I'll go and get you another pudding from the-"
"Spanking, huh?" Gintoki doesn't look at you as he arcs a brow, raises his other hand to show you the spoon gripped in it. He brings it down to lightly tap the curve of the head against the gelatinous surface of the pudding. The surface ripples, jiggling. "Like that?"
"...Yes." It's a weird intensity coming from Gintoki's stupid little show, and you gulp, throat suddenly dry.
"Right." He stands and turns to you. Holds up his hand up to your face for your examination. Riddled with small scars and callouses made from years of gripping steel and wood that no pumice stone could ever hope to soften— his hand looks strong, powerful. "Look close." He says expressionlessly, meeting your moon-like eyes. "That's all I have, and gonna use. That good with you?"
You nod, breathless and already clenching. He'd leave you raw and aching, and satisfied.
He sighs and flexes the tendons and muscles. "Great. Clothes off. Bend over. I've got a pudding to avenge."

More so the podium situation, but if you have time the doping also 🙈
Long answer and not everyone wants to read that so there's a cut :) So podium situation:
Third place was Kaori Sakamoto, she wasn't a favourite for a medal at all but she skated really well and took the bronze! She was very cute, crying tears of joy and jumping up and down, a sweet unproblematic bean.
Second place was Alexandra Trusova. She became a massive star age 13 when she became the first woman ever to land a quad toe loop and later also became the first one to land a quad flip and lutz and a lot of other firsts that would be way too long to list here. In the past two years since turning senior she's always been overshadowed by teammates though. No woman and few men in the world can do things as hard as her but she almost always fell, multiple times even, and would end up 2nd or 3rd. This whole time many people thought she should just do easier jumps so she wouldn't get the penalties for falling but she stuck with it and continued attempting many quads and a triple axel. Today, finally, she managed to land FIVE quads, something no other woman has come close to and something only two men did these Olympics. But she got the silver medal.
First place was Anna Scherbakova. Another Russian who's really good, current world champion and a few times Russian champion. A lot of people would say that she has questionable technique that never gets marked down though, and she also always gets really high marks for her artistic components. She jumped two quads and no triple axel but she was clean so with higher artistic marks she was able to win.
Now, the podium ceremony was a mess. Valieva who was the last to skate just got her score in tears and ran out of there. Then the camera moves to Trusova, crying hysterically and screaming in anger, obviously very unhappy with the silver. It looked like she didn't want to go out for the ceremony and it took several minutes to calm her down enough for that and the whole time Scherbakova understably looked like she didn't know what to do and wasn't even happy for her own win. So, yeah, just a huge mess overall and so unlike any other Olympics ceremony

Okay, the promised is debt.let"s talk about Gintaka moments!!!
I said a long time ago I was gonna do a compilation of Gintaka/Takagin moments. And I will deliver right now! (op skimmed the jp twitter and is excited/can’t wait to see the movie )
Ok, no, this will be mostly my disorganized headcanons, moments where I can see the ship with my shipper googles on, some paralels? Haha, honestly just to show the ship some love!!!
It’s also my perspective on why I love this ship!!
Of course, I'm going to talk about all the series and go back and fort, so there’s going to be spoilers all around, so if you have not seen the manga end, best skip it.
The rest is under the cut, let’s go!!!!!
So, I started shipping Gintaka/Takagin after the Shougun Assasination arc, best strangled friends story I have ever seen. I like a lot of Gintoki ships, but it became my favourite really fast. Then, looking back, I noticed these haha:
the first meeting in the show (ep 17). I know it was threatening, but watching it again the fireworks exploded over their heads as they met.Isn’t that a romantic troupe? (and also in this scene makes Takasugi face scarier, haha). And also how Gintoki stopped Takasugi blade, so obvious for point one that they knew each other.(the interactions here are so painful in retrospective 'When his father saw his son's head, imagine the rage he felt?😭')
(and then there’s also , in the extra episode where the yoroyuza go to China, they help a poor dude with his first date with a girl, and Gintoki comments how the first date should have fireworks, haha, at the time there were some images on pixiv of child Gintoki and child Takasugi seeing the fireworks together, it was so lovely, good headcanon!)
There's the Senbonsakura arc, and Takasugi appearing at the reunion scene looking at the moon, woah (there's also them crossing paths, but that's more dramatic of the ideologies maybe, still this a shipping post so ' them crossing paths there, the athmosphere of fated (rivals) people!!!')
( ‘They both had sad eyes’)
I like how even as they are different their core is the same, even if not these character are so raw together in their feelings
Let's talk about the movies for a moment: in the movie version of the Benizakura arc, Gintoki dreams with Takasugi, and IDK, but for how haunting it is, it also feels intimate, and that makes it hurt most.
About the second movie when we saw it we didn't know what the hell happened to Takasugi, but looking back he's dead by that time....maybe. (why didn't you give us a clear answer at the end sorachi).Okay but for practical purposes of what the cast knows he's dead (maybe...ahhh let's says it's like that) and well, haha, gintoki of the future dying looking at the sunset haha don't think of him daydreaming things.(When I saw the movie I had the impression that takasugi was dead, for both katsura clothes that are not called as a joke, and future gintoki 'the only one that can kill me is me', if takasugi was alive, he wouldn't let gintoki claim that so hypotrically, that's what I believed.)
There's the mini arc of the underseas dragon palace, (I remembered this one because of takasugi 'monster' form) I'm just gonna said that even if I read too much into ot there are some interesting paralels maaaaaybe, this one is a strech.
Talking about far fetched things, you people remember the Love Chorris arc? The one with the virtual girlfriends game? I think I am not the first person to point this out, but if you analyze Gintoki girl:
Gintoki selects her and (accidentally)kills her son. After that, she is bend of killing him in return in revenge. With his son corpse at her back to haunt him too.
She later confesses to him that she knew he wasn't at fault for her sons death, and that she focused on blaming him to be able to handle the pain, that she's grateful of Gintoki for understanding this.
The spirit of her son aproves their relashionship.
Now tell me this doesn't remain you of someone in particular and his relashionship with gintoki. And this is gintoki mind perspective and hopes, and fears.
(Well it probably isn't that deep, its the chorris arc, but still)
The way you can see Sakamoto’ jokes as a friend teasing because he knows they like each other. The fight when they to a red district gaining another lining.
The rajuko arc, when they exchanged blades to save the other newfound friends/family. The fucking red string of blood that they form together.
In the manga there was the famous saying attributted to takasugi historical counterpart :
'I want to kill all crows in the three thousand world, and sleep in with my heart's master'
This if I remember correctly because crows caw mark the morning, and in a brothel you have to leave.
So the meaning is ' I want to kill all crows in three thousand worlds(so that morning never comes) and sleep/stay in (forever) with my heart' master'
(Of course this could refer to shouyo, but it could be about gintoki, they go directly to meet the other)
It's a famous saying used in songs, I believe.
The part when he doesn’t want to see more rain, its of course because seeing gintoki's crying was imprinted in his mind for so long and influenced how he thinks. He is so important to him!!
And of course the final arc, where they are more open to each other,(the strangled friends are so happy to be together again) both Takasugi who finally let go of that 'burn the world down' and of Gintoki that walks besides him. The way Gintoki looks at Takasugi with a soft expression on his eyes. Matako ' I have never seen before Shinsuke sama with those eyes, I couldn't stop them'
The Glorious Days ending, that's when one (me) realises, 'oh ... this two care about each other and want to save the other' and while it isnt surprising for Gin, it was for Takasugi at the time.Rewatch the openings and endings in general, and see Takasugi place in them. IDK, he is usually the last alone waiting under the moon. And it gets me...cant really explain that.
The radio call, how we couldn’t see gintoki's initial reaction as Takasugi talked to him, gintoki even pretending not knowing (painfully bad) he didn’t know the other voice.
And of course the myriad moments in the final arc, Gintoki promply saying he is the one he wants to protect, the death sequence 'maybe we were just born under that kind of (tragic) star'
Gintoki teading takasugi that his parents would cry if they see the delincuent he is bringing home 🤣🤣.
Fuck, in the spin off Takasugi as a student novel, when he and Gintoki meet they can't keep the skit up, they talk directly to each other.
Also about the special episode, there's another...uh this is more of a paralel, and purely a headcanon, but here it goes: the yorozuya meet with kamui while trying to help a woman about her mother setting her up in blind dates, and in one moment she starts mothering both kamui and kagura and they get, well their eyes are animated different in that moment, and then they start listening to her. They were probably remainded of their own mother. And then I realised that I have seen Kamui make those eyes before (I will look for a pic, it's a very distintive shift), when talking to Takasugi. Is in one op too.
Of course the childhood friends dynamic. Regardless of nature, nobdy can deny the deep connection these two have.
(Here's the image from the op, is less obvios in the ep I think...or I'm overthinking, that's more possible)
Here’s Kamui and Kagura’s eyes when tehy get scold by the mother:
(I’m not crazy, they are similar XD Maybe XD)
I remember thinking to myself at the time 'woah, Kamui shows a admiring expression with takasugi somentimes' and now I fully believe is a childlike more like expression because takasugi reminds him of his mother(subconsiously). I can see the resemblance, especially towards the end of the series. As Gintoki and Umibozuo paralel too(both of them act like Kagura's dads) I just....haha parallel things.
There's a hundred things more, I'm sure I'm forgetting some (may add in a reblog after). All their fucking dialogue with each other is so intense. I I just love this ship sooo much
Totally up to talk about this ship if someone wants to!!
#gintama#gintaka#takagin#gintama spoilers#the movie is close so just to be sure anime watchers arent spoiled#gintoki sakata#takasugi shinsuke#somentines I play a little game called 'which gintama end lyrics fit takagin better XD'#grammar mistakes probably#will edit later...probably#add more pictures since it's difficult on phone#also this post is really a continent away fron serious analysis XD#tumblr stop fucking with my paragraphs order challenge#Edit: there were some sentences out of order still#I added one or two more pictures#thanks for liking my rambles

Tagged by @karlavhh omg I just love movies idk I think I’ll try to think of three movies that I got more obsessed in every stage of my life
1. Anastasia (1997) - this movie is in my heart always I even had the yellow dress , got the doll , the music box , a Polly pocket , the XD soundtrack and even my 5 year old party was of Anastasia I know all the dialogues and songs , I always get nostalgia cause i loved my grandma like Anya
2. Hunchback of Notredame (1996) - this movie marked my curiosity in knowing more about the Roma people cause I wanted to dance like Esmeralda ( in later years I found out that dance was a lie and just performance and Roma dance is way diferent ) and Quasimodos struggle got me going to watch this on repeat🥲 like I used to sing heavens light like him cause I was like I’m ugly
3. santitos (1998) -i was a kid when I saw this one and I just love it , it’s an underrated Mexican movie and was one of the first movies that taught me that death doesn’t mean gone and was filmed in Tlacotalpan
4. Anna Karenina (1997) this movie was one of my favorites to watch everytime I saw it was on tv and as I grow older I change my views about the characters , at first I was like poor Anna , then I was like men she was kinda toxic now I just love the side story of Levin and Kity , also I got a sick obsession to Sophie Marceau and I do a rewatch every year
5. Wuthering heights (1992) - Juliette Binoche and Ralph Fiennes are so good , the soundtrack by Ryuichi Sakamoto, the visuals , and the fact they covered most of the book , and also I blame this movie for my love of toxic ships
6. The Virgin Suicides (1999) - I was 13 and got obsessed with this movie and the song playground love of air , Idk why I didn’t realize that liking a movie about a bunch of teen dying and having mental issues wasn’t exactly mentally healthy but I was just so into the atmosphere , and the girls and how they never figure out why they did it
7. All about Lily chou chou (2000) - another teen suicide movie I was obsessed I loved the soundtrack and this movie also got me into Asian cinema , cause they just capture the loneliness in a way I can’t describe
8. Fallen Angels (1995) - first Wong Kar Wai movie i saw and wanted to know everything about it , also started my crush in Takeshi Kaneshiro , I just love the loneliness that Asian cinema portrays
9. The crow (1994) - this movie is on my Halloween rewatch always , the plot is simple but man the soundtrack , the fact that is Brandon Lee’s last role and the vengeance plot got me , another one that always remembers me death doesn’t mean gone
10. Lady vengeance (2005) - my favorite Park Chan Wook movie , I just love vengeance movies and this was one of the first I saw of Korean cinema
11. Evangelion death and Rebirth (1997)- I was like 12 when I saw this and hadn’t watch the anime and I understood nothing cause this is like a review of the first 24 chapters and still I watched it in repeat
10 films i love
tagged by @zurdoabsurdo my bisexual wife (acrylics on canvas)
in no particular order except the first two im adamant about, also they’re all very poignant because i don’t like to have fun
jean de florette/manon des sources — counting these two as one because they’re part the same story (the water of the hills), and hands down the most beautiful films ever made (in my unbiased opinion). the score, the acting, the settings, the everything I can’t recommend them enough. they’re very dear to me
persepolis — a powerful movie adapted from marjane satrapi’s autobiographic graphic novel that rewired my entire brain when i was a child. I cry every single time 🦢
whiplash — very intense, very beautiful, miles teller and jk simmons rock my entire world
i’m thinking of ending things — i’m gonna stop calling every film in this list beautiful but it’s the truth (i even got a line/still from this one tattooed). i hated this one upon my first viewing because it confused me, and at the same time i was so fascinated that i eventually came back and watched it again and again and again. i find something new every time
bye bye morons (adieu les cons) — another french one, a comedy drama that was very touching
tandem — french, i’d describe it the same as i did the previous one. they’re both about lonely people
the truman show — another childhood favorite, it’s whimsical and it hits you hard
slumdog millionaire — incredibly powerful film in my opinion, with an amazing score that i would listen to on loop as a kid
the chorus (les choristes) — i joined a choir when i was little because i loved this movie so much, i still remember all the songs. this one holds a very special place in my heart
life is beautiful (la vita è bella) —this one will also make me cry every single time. it’s a war movie but it’s about love what more can i say

This post frustrates me so much.
First, they make it sound like the skater can avoid including a Lutz in their programme.
(This is going to get a bit technical but bear with me)
So in figure skating, there's 6 types of jumps and the free skate requires 7 jump passes and 3 combinations. Only 2 triple jumps are allowed to be repeated. So unless the skater does a solo double jump (not including 2A) in replacement for a triple, there is no way they can avoid not having a Lutz in their programme without flouting the Zayak rule. Why can't they replace a Lutz with a solo double jump? The triple Lutz has a base value of 5.90points and the double jump (that isn't the 2A or 2Lz) is the double Flip which only has a base value of 1.80points. Should a skater choose to replace a triple Lutz with a double Flip, their total base value would drop by 4.10points. Which is a lot especially in the Ladies event that has extremely tight competition. So it is more efficient to have a 3Lz in the programme and get deducted one or two points for the unclear edge than switching it out entirely for a double flip. (Which would only get at most about 0.9points GOEs should she get +5s across the board.)
And in Evgenia's case, her layout for Memoirs of a Geisha is the most ideal for her, which features a single 3Lz in the beginning of her programme.
Now onto the issue I have with this post's comments section:
Issues with Evgenia's Lutz that the comments brought up:
Full blade take-off
Underrotated
Wrong take-off edge
And here's an example of Evgenia's Lutz:
Actual issues with Evgenia's Lutz:
Wrong take-off edge
And that's basically it. If I have to be picky, I'll mention her toe-hammer as well, but since everyone's treating Yuna Kim's 3Lz (Yuna does have a toe-hammer too) like it's perfect, then I'll overlook Evgenia's toe-hammer as well.
Also, they are talking about Evgenia's Lutz like it hasn't been penalised.
Here's some of the scoresheets from her 2019-2020 season:
^Shanghai Trophy, Skate Canada and Rostelecom Cup respectively.
My biggest problem with this whole 'Lutz Flutz' complaint is that whenever it gets mentioned, people drag Evgenia into the picture like she's the only skater that Flutzes. And they use this to mark her as a 'bad skater'.
Here's some other skaters that have an unclear edge on their Lutzes:
Alena K.
Eunsoo Lim
Alina Zagitova
Anna S.
Mariah Bell
Bradie Tennell
Satoko Miyahara
Kaori Sakamoto
Etc.
Also, a wrong edge Lutz, while should be penalised, does not mean the skater is a bad skater.
It is but one jump out of the whole sport. To base off a skater's prowess with one single jump is ridiculous. Back to Evgenia again, her jumps in general have good flow and size, her toe jumps are all picked cleanly and her edge jumps are simply sublime, and all her jumps have good success rates and usually fully-rotated. And her interpretation and performance is good, and her spins are above average. To dumb that all down with a "she flutzes so she bad" is insulting on so many fronts.
And that goes to all skaters and all aspects. Just because Rika's interpretation and performance isn't 'up there', doesn't mean she's far less competent than the 3A, and just because Alina's jumps may be unstable at times doesn't mean she should retire. Though it does seem that the other skaters aren't 'called out' as often as Evgenia's Lutz edge due to Koola King's hypersensationalised and targeted content.
My point is, Lutz edges are hard to maintain and wrong edges are hard to change. Making it such that the inclusion of the Lutz in the programme is the skater's fault is simply narrow-minded and not understanding at all. Also, do not use the Lutz as a way to demean skaters of their abilities and act like it is the only defining point of the skater's capabilities. And do not hold the skaters accountable for their results. Whatever the judges give them isn't the skater's fault. It is out of their control. If you wish to complain about incorrect judging, do not slight the skaters in question.
So sorry for the rant, I've been a little upset over this for a while.

🍸 (izo promptly tries to pat her shirt dry.. .)
Oh the tension || Accepting
Chaldea’s lunch time was probably the noisiest time of the day. The hustle and bustle for each day’s special menu, brought to them by the mothers servants who enjoyed time in the kitchen was real. Sometimes, the Director was there too, dishing out his famous pasta dishes and desserts, which was what Kiomi was having today for lunch-- a decadently creamy looking bowl of fettuccine, some nice ice cold water, and a cherry lemon trifle.
Lately though, it seemed like food wasn’t the only thing on people’s minds when they dropped by the cafeteria for that warm and hearty meal.
“Who allowed them to gamble in the cafeteria?”
“Beats me. It’s not like we can stop servants from doing what they want anyway.”
“That’s true, but they are pretty loud, aren’t they?”
“Yeah. But they’re just playing, so it should be alright.”
The passing comment didn’t go unheard as the magus took the seat that opened up. Then again, it’s not like the ruckus from the alleged “gambling” table was that hard to pick up either. When she took a peek at what was happening, her eyes caught glimpse of the cheeky old man with constant complaints of back pain, dealing cards. She also spotted Oryou who flew towards her when she saw Kiomi shaking a bag of frogs. The master would have been earlier to lunch, but she promised the nice dragon lady a snack, and she wanted to do good on her promise. The fact that Oryou was there meant that Ryouma was too. Never thought him to be the gambling type. She mused, “Here you go, Oryou.” all the while, surrendering the treat over to Sakamoto’s partner. Spying a little more, it seemed though that he wasn’t engaging in it at all.
“Hoooo, for a human, you did well bringing Oryou so many frogs.”
“Naturally. If it’s just frogs, even I can handle getting them for you.” She replied proudly, smugly, even. The two snickered to themselves, and proceeded to eat their meal together. Often times, Oryou would show some benevolence and offer a frog, but Kiomi always insisted that Oryou deserved them all. “Oryou-san, Oryou-san, I didn’t know Sakamoto-san gambled.”
“Oryou told Ryouma not to bother, but he’s making sure stupid Izo doesn’t throw all his QP away.”
Izo, huh? “Ah right, he’s the one with the massive gambling addiction, of course it wouldn’t be Sakamoto-san.”
And as if on cue, the person in question roared his frustration at having lost another match. Curious, she’d let her eyes stray over to the table once again, her icy drink in hand, ready to take a sip. Not only did Izo look frustrated as he slammed the cards down on the table while coughing up the QP for that round, but he ended up laughing boisterously anyway when Moriarty engaged them in another game.
Ah-- He looked so happy.
“AAAH! COLD, COLD, COLD!” Aaand there goes all the water that she had planned to enjoy, missed its mark as she ended up spilling it all on herself. Thankfully this wasn’t something that would leave a stain, but it soaked so quickly through the fabric that the cafeteria’s air conditioning was making it feel colder than it should have been. Oryou commented on how it was the first time she saw someone mess up drinking from a glass, and grinned a little. And as if that wasn’t embarrassing enough, despite Kiomi’s argument that it was an accident, she was suddenly grabbed by the shoulder and spun around by the manslayer that marched over from the other table. There was that little knowing look of disdain on his face, as if saying she interrupted his game. He could have chosen not to come over, but he did.
“Oi, Master. Stop makin’ a fuss 'bout somethin’ so small.” Sometimes, he felt that his master was also quite the idiot on top of being careless. The front of her uniform along with her skirt was totally doused. He could probably wring a good amount to help her dry off, but still, just who messes up drinking a glass of water like this anyway? Was she tired or something? He did tell her not to sweat the small stuff and leave that kind of thing to him or the others, but his master was as bull-headed as they come; a reckless thing, she was.
“T-this is all your fault!” She was ready to shift all the blame on him for being so damn distracting, but what he did next ended up startling her, more than his stupidly jovial face did earlier.
“Tch! The heck ya tryin’ ta pin the blame on me for!” He growled, all the while patting her down, promptly, adamantly as if that would magically dry her off. Kiomi smacked his hand away only for him to smack hers back, telling her not to be a pain in the ass and just let him do what he came to do. He left his card game for this so she had better be grateful and make it count.
Izo, well, he wasn’t the gentlest tool in the shed, that was for sure. The nerve of this guy smacking her; putting his hands on her and touching her so casually... with those rough and calloused hands that did more ‘harm’ to her than not. He was just trying to help, sure-- “I can do it myself--” but the more he did that, the cold was becoming less and less the issue; compared to the burn that seemed to set her skin ablaze. “Listen, I aint sayin’ this ‘nother time--” Annoyed, he would instinctively grab her by the collar, to drive a point, however--
Huh? Why’s it so soft?
“Hnyaaa--”
A small, choked up whimper that he had NEVER heard her make before, coupled with a rather violent push would make Izo realize his crime. His master was so red in the face, obviously angry, as she protectively covered that surprisingly supple chest-- and he'd finally notice how the spilled water hardly left anything to the imagination. He probably would have whistled if he hadn't been so taken aback by how vulnerable she looked. The normally strong-willed, stubborn master, about to cry-- O-oi. This was... doing nothing good for his loins.
“Wait, I--”
“J-just go and get me a towel!” Oh no. There goes a command spell, getting wasted on something so trivial.

I love your writing! I'm so glad there's still a good Persona 5 blog🖤 May I please request the girl, also a Phantom Thief, that loves Ryuji (and vice versa) that is jealous of Ann because she thinks he likes her? She gets distant from Ryuji because she feels like she'll never be pretty enough like Ann? (No hate on Ann, she's awesome, I just thought this would make an angsty but good ending idea haha)
Hi Anon!! I love Ann because she’s such a sweet girl but of course I can write this. They are pretty close after all.
- Nexus.
Skull { Ryuji Sakamoto }
✧ Ryuji is not the most perceptive. Often, he finds himself misinterpreting people & what their actions mean. He likes to think that he makes he intentions pretty clear but quite often, he is off the mark.
✧ So when he fell for her, he tried his best to make it clear that he liked her without having to explicitly say anything. Not that he was not going to confess! It was more he wanted to see if she would reciprocate so that he could build his own confidence.
✧ Spending time with Ann was something that he had to do because she was the key to helping him. He knew next to nothing about how to court a lady & even then, executing it would be difficult.
✧ However, from her perspective, it looked as though Ann & Ryuji were slowly becoming closer. She knew that the mighty Panther that looked oh-so-dazzling in the Metaverse was someone she could not compare to but the reality of it all was heart shattering.
✧ Ann was beautiful physically & that seemed to be something he was interested in. She was a model: Beauty & elegance were everything. Everyone loved her & although she was a dear friend, sometimes comparisons would be made between the two of them in her mind. She had seen Ryuji try to look down her Phantom Thief costume in Futaba’s Palace or the way her hips swayed whenever she walked.
✧ So, distancing herself felt appropriate. If Ryuji did not want to be with her, the least she could do is lose these feelings & be a supportive friend.
✧ After a few days, he noticed that they were not hanging out. At all. It was strange to say the least. So he did what he thought best: Talking to Ann. She sighed at his idiocy. It was quite obvious that she liked him back but she thought that he was not interested because he was spending time with her.
✧ Cue the ‘ ooooh ’ moment.
✧ Quickly, Ryuji found & confronted her. Articulating his feelings for her properly but once he found the words, he confessed that he liked her a lot & that he had been spending a lot of time with Ann because he wanted to figure out how to impress her.
✧ In return, she told him that she felt in inadequate to Ann. How she was powerful in both reality as a model & in the Metaverse as Panther.
“ Look, Ann’s just my friend!! It ain’t anythin’ like you think, I swear. I really care about ya, even if I struggle to say so. Sure, she’s pretty but there’s a lot of girls like that. You’re a lot different. I like you because you’re here for me, cause you’re super nice to me in the Metaverse, checkin’ up on me even when I say I’m fine. In the end, I’d choose you over her any day. ”

Persona 5 AU
Ok, here it is!
This is going from the beginning of the au to izuku’s persona awakening
Cw: Mental breakdown mention
In this AU, izuku doesn’t meet all-might
He heads straight home, and All-Might catches the sludge on his own
He only gets through a week at aldera before having a stress-induced mental breakdown
Just…constant bullying, mixed in with ruminating on Bakugo’s taunt is what caused it
Izuku spends 2-3 weeks in a children’s hospital recuperating and floating in and out of awareness
Even after he’s discharged, he still has those moments
He decides not to go back to aldera, as the mere thought makes him want to vomit
(The kids there cheer when that’s revealed, but Bakugo feels a twinge of guilt. He crushes it down.)
While at home, izuku notices a story about a teacher in Tokyo getting done-in by the “phantom thieves” while he was recuperating
He looks into it more, and finds the Phan-site
He falls into that rabbit hole HARD
He even begins posting a thread on who he thinks the phantom thieves are
Lots of people give their 2 cents; all in all, it’s a pretty popular thread
However, after Madarame is captured (which in this au takes place on may 23rd, since my version of Ren doesn’t like having stuff hang over him for too long) is when izuku decides to truly take action
He begs his mom to let him live in Tokyo and attend middle school there
She, obviously, doesn’t want him to go at first, but after heavy promises of calling her every night, and making sure he always has something on his person to defend himself, and most importantly, tell her if he’s getting bullied, she relents
He gets an apartment in akihabara and attends middle school there (it’s ok there, most kids there don’t hate him on sight for his lack of quirk, so that’s a plus)
He keeps investigating, and gets confronted in a pm by Mishima to hey, could you not
Izuku wants to know why, but Mishima gives no actual answer, and instead bans him for a few days and deletes the thread
While sulking, he gets a pm from somebody named Alibaba
Alibaba lurked around the site, and took an interest in izuku’s thread to discover the phantom thieves
They’ll lend their services, but on 1 condition: whatever izuku finds, Alibaba gets to know first
Around June 11th, he goes to Leblanc (since his mom recommended it for the food, and to meet an old friend)
There he makes quick friends with sojiro, and they discuss his mom
Context: Inko was a famous lawyer who was a prodigy in keeping innocent people from facing unjust punishments. She met Sojiro and Wakaba while at a cafe and the three of them became good friends
However, there was a massive political scandal that Inko was on the “wrong” side of (in reality, Shido didn’t like how close she was to discovering his Cabal, so he set that scandal up to discredit her)
What didn’t help matters was the fact that she supported Toranosuke Yoshida in that year’s election, who himself had been involved in a scandal a few years earlier
So she left, disgraced, met Hisashi, and had izuku
Anyway, Sojiro’s charge and his friends enter, ready for some yummy hotpot
Izuku & them banter a bit, and Mona gets pets from izuku
He leaves, and asks Alibaba to look into Ren Amamiya and his friends, as well as the Kamoshida case
Something about that friend group seems weird…
They comply, and by June 13th, he’s got school records and such, and an unredacted version of the Kamoshida case
The student that started Kamoshida’s downfall, Shiho Suzui, was a girl on the volleyball team who’d been M*l*st*d by the teacher
Her best friend? Ann Takamaki, who, along with Suzui, seemed to be a target of harassment by kamoshida, and both went to middle school with Ryuji Sakamoto
Sakamoto himself had assaulted Kamoshida in his first year, earning both a limp and the track team’s disbandment
Ryuji and Ren had been late to their first day of second year, which was a mark on their reports
Looking at it from a certain point of view, it seems like Ann & Ryuji had a vendetta, and dragged Ren into it
On the other hand, Yusuke Kitagawa from Kosei didn’t seem like he had any involvement, at least until Izuku reads that Kitagawa was Madarame’s pupil
The pieces click together, and Izuku, in order to confirm his suspicion, hangs out at Leblanc more often
(This is by June 15th btw)
He also follows them around to catch them in the act
On the 26th, he manages to catch them going into Kaneshiro’s palace
He gets swept up in it, and appears in the cognitive Shibuya
He follows the Thieves into the actual palace (later, when asked how the hell he got up there, he’d shrug and say “I’m not really sure myself”)
Ends up getting captured and brought to shadow Kaneshiro
They banter a bit, with him accidentally revealing both his surname and his quirklessness, and Kaneshiro taunts the thieves by saying he’ll execute this weird green kid that showed up
The thieves make it to where Kaneshiro & Izuku are, and a whole interaction takes place where the context from earlier pops up
Kaneshiro tells the story of inko, and muses about just how much money her son would fetch on the black market, even willing to cancel Makoto’s debt
They say no, obvi, and the shadow says things about how quirkless are only useful for whatever price they can fetch (they are quite rare, after all, and many rich people might want one or two around, for servants that can’t fight back), and any other thing they want to pursue is just delaying the inevitable
Izuku has his shut up, Hannibal! Moment, and awakens his persona: John Constantine
