Ok, before the Good Omens Twitter panic also takes hold over here, let me just say, do we actually need to be scared even if it turns out Douglas Mackinnon and Neil hate each others guts now and there is no way he ever wants anything to do with the show again?-

1) Neil Gaiman has assured us on different occasions that he will definitely tell the story, in fact he has already an ending and is writing the script right now! We don’t know if there even will be a season 3 but we will definitely get told what happens to Aziraphale and Crowley, if not on screen then on paper.

2)Again, we don’t know if we get S3, why panic over the director if AmazonPrime could just screw us all up anyway? I know we don’t like to acknowledge it but with the strikes and the huge backlash/possible bans queer shows will experience in the next years in America (Amazon being an American company) there is a very real danger of it being canceled and we are probably better of preparing ourselves for that.

3) IF S3 gets filmed, the shows main focus, what makes it so good, what we are watching it for is the relationship between Crowley and Aziraphale, they are the only really important characters, all the humor and the emotion comes from their interactions. And both David Tennant and Michael Sheen are amazing actors, not just because they are adorable and we love them, but just objectively looking at their work catalog and the technicalities of their acting. And they have already proven in „staged“ that they don’t even need a director, their acting chemistry still works without any input from a third person. I absolutely trust these two to nail their roles and do an immaculate job, no matter who the director of a potential third season will be!

I'm perfectly aware that I'm talking about a community theater play & I'm a dork, but can I just say that if it weren't for Aziraphale I would never have been cast as my literal dream role?

First, I feel like I should say that in the DMV, community theater seems weirdly professional and competitive. We have a really strong pool of companies that put on such good shows. So being a fat AFAB person, who is too poor to afford actual tap dance lessons and voice coaches, I assumed that I would never fit in here.

But I did! And I did some theater but I was finding it hard to... fit into any of the female roles available to me. And I figured they'd never cast me as a guy because why put a 5'3 person with a giant rack in a role when you have a traditionally attractive man? Who is probably tall?

And when I came out as nonbinary, they were all really supportive of me and I began to be asked to be a guy in like, pub scenes and servant scenes. Little guy moments. Then, one of my friends was like, do you want to cosplay as Aziraphale to my Crowley? And I was so nervous that first time, so uncomfortable, until about halfway through the photo shoot I realized- In the books Aziraphale is fat. It's okay if I have a double chin, or a belly, because I'm Aziraphale right now. This weird moment of 'It's okay to be ugly if you're doing something else well- like being funny or being passionate or being in character' kind of washed over me. It changed the way I audition for things. The pressure to be 'pretty' just went away.

Kind of.

I wasn't going to audition for Watson because I truly didn't think I'd get it. And then, in that room of cis male actors who were heckling me for my knowledge of fandom, I was scared. But I went in knowing John Watson in and out, knowing how to be a guy, and there was a moment that I was like, "I'm fat. I have tits. I'm short." But I remembered it didn't matter. Because I'd been a believable Aziraphale, and six dozen believable servant roles, and I was a believable Watson. No one knew Watson like I did.

And the director noticed. I didn't believe her when I got the email that I'd been cast. I thought it couldn't possibly be true. But it was, and I'm having the best time, and I'm in the most gender affirming costume I've ever been in and I'm playing on my favorite stage.

I used to be an acting major in college but I dropped out because... well, a lot of people told me I'd never go anywhere with it and never make any money. But back then, in the early 00's, I told my now-Ex that my dream role was to play John Watson. And he laughed.

And now I'm playing John Watson.

teacher single-handedly made my whole class watch Good Omens.

He referred to it as “satanic” and “an example of how the woke left is using popular media to influence children” and I think he severely miscalculated the effect this would have on a bunch of teenagers and young adults.😂

Needless to say, when I offered for everyone to come binge-watch Good Omens after school at my place, pretty much the whole class came to be “influenced” by this gorgeous piece of “satanic” media.

The character development here... the fact that Crowley, who runs and evades when things get hard or scary, stays and watches one of the hardest things (if not the hardest thing) he’s had to go through so far, simply because he can’t bear to do anything else. He can’t let Aziraphale go without making sure he knows that Crowley will be there, but he also can’t leave until he knows for sure that Aziraphale isn’t coming back. 

No you don't understand, he could have driven away in agony listening to whatever sad ass break up song there is at full volume (we all know it would be "love of my life" by queen) but he didn't. Even after being rejected MULTIPLE times by aziraphale he still stands there, hoping so desperately that the angel might have changed his mind. He's not willing to give up just yet. I'M SOBBING
