I wonder how Taigen must have felt after realizing that all of what he had valued once had no importance anymore, it must have been as eye opening as it was heartbreaking. Coming to realize how misguided you had been or see that what you had built your life upon had meant nothing was probably cathartic as well. I wonder when it dawned on him, to see no value in being a noble anymore, in having a title.

To touch on something else, in a sense, I had found it pretty naive of Taigen to think Akemi would have left the burning city with him that day (but I do understand that naïveté as well, he hadn’t seen Akemi for a while, hadn’t seen how tenacious she had been for him at first, for herself at last), she had stood up to her father, took the reigns of her own life for quite sometime even after being chastised for her decisions.

I always wonder, at least since I finished the show, what he would be doing after episode 8. I wonder if he’d go back to Swordmaster, reunite with Ringo, or if he’d just wander in search for happiness, sharpen his skills (i’d even say start from scratch, no presumption (i feel this word is a bit too harsh for him now because he’s learned, seen where he’s lacking and what needs improvement) in the way he’d train) if he’d settle somewhere and learn to live how he ultimately wants to live. I think of the last scene we saw him in, between destruction and new found ideals and ever continuous growth of nature and soul searching. I wonder who Taigen would discover himself to be without anyone to impress or have disdain for. I wonder if a rematch would truly be what he’d actually want in the end.

Seeing your drawings has made me want to get back into drawing. I’m so rusty though but that’s not surprising since it’s been months lol. But anyway, I love your drawings and how lively they look, facial expressions, body language, it’s so dope. Can I ask how were you able to progress? Like did you study anatomy books and things like that? Sometimes I hate being so precise especially since I feel like anatomy calls for that, but I have to endure it if I wanna get better

you need to give yourself time, you can’t improve overnight.

anatomy is very much a big part of my art, mainly because i enjoy it a lot. but ive never actually opened an anatomy book, so if you’re not into that dw, there’s only so much you can read anyway. Id recomend studying references. and im not takling about those dramatic anatomy refs on pintrest, i mean just basic pictures of like some guy just standing there.

the positive is that if you figure how one guy moves his arm you’re gonna know how everyone else does too. everything else is just mass.

AND don’t be afraid to use references!! USE THEM!! that’s the easiest way to learn!! apply anatomy to your oc’s, and you’ll want to do it more!!! IT DOES’T EVEN NEED TO BE THAT CLOSE!! ex: this one’s from last year i think
