#Altheya#altheyatde#my ocs#Ser Valerie#I’ve been trying to find a last name for her for the past week#And for me that’s usually just hearing or reading a word somewhere and going ‘could that be a last name?’#So this week I encountered the word ‘Florett’ which is the German word for a light rapier sword that’s called a ‘foil’ in english#English has the worst name for them#Because every other language used a variation of the French word fleuret#So it’s florett floreto fioretto etc in most languages#We don’t know yet what language or region Mark is going to base the Suncrest isles on but southern french spanish italian etc should be fin#I like that word but it sounds a bit clunky as a last name paired with her first name (Ser Valerie Fioretto? Too long)#So I’m still workshopping that#Her first name came very easily so of course her last name is more difficult to find :(#I chose Valerie because it’s valiant+flattery with a hint of Valkyrie and it has a latin/roman/italian origin#So a very good name for her!#Anyway wow cool drawing I like it a lot

#feeling some disconnect from 'fresco' lately but would like to keep an italian name#i want it to be short. two syllables max#and my legal name is dalton so *maybe* i can get away with 'call me dante'#because christ i don't want to change my name legally again#i never bothered to change it to fresco#i changed my first name when i Transed and my last name when i Spoused#and good fucking luck changing an indiana birth certificate so i have to present ALL the paperwork any time i need a new ID or whatever#anyway a few years ago a receptionist told me dalton is a cool name for a woman#and i think thats the vibe i want strangers to feel upon meeting me#but i have so much baggage tied to 'dalton' i am sick of it#i just would like moderately aware strangers to see me and hear my name and think 'oh cool a lesbian'#if it wouldnt draw So Much Attention to me i would have a quadruple-hyphenated italian german (?) hawaiian surname#i already have the hyphenated german-hawaiian surname and can rattle off the spelling#anyway i think it would be funny/fitting to retire the name that means fresh/new and settle into a name that means steadfast/enduring#also I Guess the hell thing and me being an atheist. lol. lmao even.#i have a couple worries about dante as a name and one of them is people thinking it's Just a reference to dante alighieri
