sharing the bed with seventeen
how they sleep next to you
Tumblr media
seungcheol
tucks you into his side and keeps you there all night
will not let you move, even if you complain that it’s too hot
his dramatic ass will say that he’ll die if he can’t sleep with you in his arms
pouts at you if you don’t go to bed at the same time as him
if you want to stay up later to watch tv he’ll stay up with you, falling asleep in your lap on the couch while you watch your show
“baby, just go to bed without me”
“i can’t get comfortable unless i’m with you”
jeonghan
a little shit
teases you whenever you want to cuddle up with him
but if you refuse to cuddle him he’ll pout until you cave
if you try sleeping away from him he’ll pull you over to him and smother you
loves to feel like he’s protecting you
always the big spoon, needs to be holding you instead of the other way around
“can i be the big spoon tonight?”
“no”
“but-!”
“absolutely not”
joshua
loves his personal space
literally cannot fall asleep if he’s touching someone, which he feels bad about
but at least he can sleep next to you!
will try to read you bedtime stories to make up for it
googles ‘best bedtime stories’ and ends up reading you goldilocks and the three bears
“why are you reading me a child’s bedtime story?”
“shhh we’re getting to the best part”
jun
blanket hog
you’ll have to sleep with an extra blanket next to your side of the bed so you can pull it on when you wake up in the cold
will claim that he’s not doing anything and you’re just imagining it
even when he hogs all the blankets he’s still searching for your touch
so, you might wake up cold but your hand is warm, engulfed in his
at this point you’ve stopped mentioning it to him so he doesn’t feel bad
plus the warmth of his hand is enough to show you he loves you
“i didn’t steal all the blankets again, did i?”
“nope”
hoshi
nuzzles his head in your neck
likes to be as close as possible
literally a baby tiger
so what if he feels safe in your arms? sue him
likes it when you talk about your day or tell him a story, your voice soothes him to sleep
“can you tell me the one about when you fell off your bike again?”
“honey, i’ve told you that story 10 times already”
“but it helps me sleep!”
wonwoo
surprisingly, is the little spoon
he’s sick of having to be so strong, loves being babied by you
gets sad when you go to sleep first, but he’s playing video games deep into the night, so who’s really to blame here?
but, will feel even worse if you stay up late just for him
“are you ready to sleep yet?”
“just one more round”
“fine, i’m going to sleep without you then”
“no, wait!”
jihoon
usually doesn't sleep until very late
is always working on producing and will even spend nights in his studio
when he comes home you're almost always sleeping already, he feels bad that he can't hold you and soothe you to sleep
but he opts for crawling into bed and holding you while you sleep
you'll subconsciously curl up into him, it always makes him smile
you constantly badger him about getting more sleep and he always promises that he will (he won't but he knows it eases your mind)
“when did you get back last night?”
“not too long after you fell asleep, don't worry”
(he came home after you'd been asleep for 5 hours)
minghao
doesn’t tell you that he does/doesn’t like cuddling
literally just doesn’t give you any information
some days you’ll wake up in his arms and then other days you’ll wake up about to be kicked off the bed
but, even if you wake up away from him when you try to get out of bed he’ll grab your arm and keep you there
“don’t leave me”
“i was just going to make breakfast”
“i said don’t leave me” :(
mingyu
smothers you
literally will not let you breathe
claims he needs to hold you to fall asleep, pouts if you don’t let him
you can try to put a barrier of pillows between you but you always wake up in a death grip
“you’re sleeping on the couch until further notice”
“i promise i won’t do it again!”
he does it again.
seokmin
cuddle bug ™
loves being close to you, absolutely obsessed with skinship
genuinely cannot sleep if he’s not holding you which is why it’s so hard for him to get sleep when he’s overseas
plays with your hair while you’re asleep
will not get out of bed without you, so he’ll just lay in bed and watch your sleep until you wake up
“have you been watching me sleep?”
“of course, i could never get bored of your beauty”
“you’re a sap”
“funny way of acknowledging that i’m madly in love with you”
seungkwan
big old teddy bear
sleeps peacefully as long as you two are smushed together in any kind of way
big spoon, little spoon, he doesn’t care if it’s with you
let’s you play with his hair, plays with your hair
he just loves you so much he’ll take whatever he can get
going to bed with you is his favorite time of the day
“kwannie? i’m tired, you ready for bed?”
“always”
vernon
very specific about how he sleeps
quite literally cannot sleep if he’s cuddling, also says it’s impractical
will link his pinky with yours or grab your hand in his sleep, though
if you wake up and get out of bed before him he’ll pout a little bit, he likes spending time in bed with you
your presence next to him is enough, even if you think you’re bothering his routine
“you sure i’m not messing up your sleep by being here?”
“i’d never not want to be with you”
dino
wants to be a cuddler but is a kicker
you can fall asleep in each others arms but you will be woken up by him kicking you and pushing you nearly off the bed
you’ll try and get back to a normal position with him but he will still kick you, making you grab a pillow and blanket and go sleep in the guest room
he’ll wake up to an empty and cold bed and feel absolutely horrible
will rush into your guest room and shake you awake
“did i do it again? :(”
“don’t worry about it, honey”

Being in fandoms where the characters are clearly based on other pieces of media/famous figures is so much fun because then some of my ships look like this:
Parentified Goldilocks who is also The Beast x Avoidance attachment Beauty who is ALSO also The Beast, one of my fav moments with them is when they off the Minotaur together who is ALSO also also The Beast
Little Red Riding Hood if she was also the Wolf and has galloons of repressed trauma x Snow White but she’s heavily knight coded and the poster child of daddy issues
Edgar Allen Poe’s Lenore x Annabel Lee but they’re in gay ghost love
The poem ‘The Last Rose of Summer’ x Odin’s raven Huginn but they’re exes still in love in a milf yuri divorce that ends super mega tragically and domino effects mommy issues out the ass
Historical figures Cleopatra x Frida Kahlo with the most chef’s kiss height difference you’ve ever seen
A polycule with Joan of Arc x Mulan x Thor x Achilles but they’re all genderbent/trans
The Velveteen Rabbit x fashion icon Coco Chanel if she was a lesbian with a gun
Frankenstein’s monster x a different sapphic Cleopatra bc baby gays <3333
Okay okay that black cat from Poe’s, well, The Black Cat x Poe’s Eulalie is cute yes
But I actually really REALLY love Poe’s Eulalie x Poe’s Berenice bc they’re “me and the bad bitch I pulled by being autistic” personified
The Snow Queen with mega daddy issues x Robin Hood if he was a socialist lesbian I SAIDDDD ITTTT
Imma say it historical figures JFK x Confucius were adorable bros
Aesop’s Fisherman x Odin’s other bird Munin you will always be famous my tragic old man yaoi <////3
Y’all will really have to hear me out here when I say Cinderella if she fucken snapped x ice cream Mad Hatter because couples who are terrible to each other but in a “only I’m allowed to be a horrid to them” way can be so funny
And I could go o n fer ages but the point is imagine explaining these ships to someone like 30 years ago with ZERO context their heads would explode and it’d be so funny

Goldilocks / drunk drive home
Tumblr media
David
“Come on Elle! You can drive!” David exclaimed, Oliver was in the backseat singing his heart out while cursing like a sailor. Emmanuel’s grip on the steering wheel tightened, “But I don’t have my permit!”
David scoffed and rolled his eyes, “You know how to drive.”
“And you’re sixteen and you don’t have a permit or know how to drive.”
“Just drive!”
Emmanuel was driving, one the highway, late at night. Oliver was singing his heart out in the backseat, while David was making sure Oliver drank water and stayed at least somewhat calm. No police in sight, but they can’t jinx it yet. She kept her eyes on the GPS, listening to Siri telling her the directions to David and Oliver’s neighborhood.
“How did he get drunk? We were just waiting for him for thirty minutes and all the sudden he’s drunk.” Emmanuel questioned, she was still in disbelief how her older friend is drunk so quickly.
“He was just with his bandmates.” David responded, he was keeping an eye on Oliver. Oliver just had a goofy, drunken-smile on his face.
Nirvana was playing, there was no conversation except for Oliver’s loud and obnoxious singing and laughing. David looked unfazed by this. Emmanuel was just focused on driving. Not a lot of people in Houston were good drivers, so it’s best to stay aware than be sorry. David was happy she doesn’t drive like a maniac on the road.
The drive seemed nearly endless, the night sky painted in black with only specks of white stars. Emmanuel still kept her focus on the road and her surroundings, David kept pestering Oliver to drink water.
Emmanuel
Soon enough they got out of the highway, and closer to the neighborhood where David and Oliver lived. Emmanuel parked Oliver’s car in front of his house, David got out while helping Oliver up and walking him to the front door.
Emmanuel knocked on the door gently, and an older woman answered the door, but it wasn’t Oliver’s mom. His mother died years ago. David and Emmanuel shared a confused look before the older woman spoke up. “Ah… You both have my lil brother.”
“Little brother?” The two said in unison.
“Yes, I’m his older sister, Elena.” Elena replied.
“Older sister?!” The two exclamation in unison.
—••—
Soon as David went home and Oliver got settled, Elena decided to drive Emmanuel home. Emmanuel gave Elena her address, and the drive was silent. Almost too silent, like if it was deafening. “So,” Elena hummed, a soft smile was on her face. “Has Oliver ever mentioned me?”
Emmanuel was a bit caught off guard by the question; no he’s never mentioned an older sister. “No.” Emmanuel muttered sheepishly.
“Never?” Elena questioned.
“No, he never did.”
“Well, he’s talked to me a lot about you and David.”
“Oh? So you know us?”
“Yeah, I do. Aren’t you too young to be driving?” Elena questioned, almost worried.
“Yeah, I’m fourteen.”
“Fourteen?” Elena chuckled, “Damn, well, I gotta hand it to you kid. I never seen a kid drive as good as you could, driving my lil brother home.”
It got quiet again, Elena didn’t seem to ask how her brother got drunk. Emmanuel though, has a lot a questions about Oliver having an older sister. Emmanuel took a deep breath and asked the question that’s been clogging up her mind. “Are you really Oliver’s older sister?”
Elena gave Emmanuel a slight glance, “Yeah, I just never been around a lot.”
“How come?”
“Kid, I’m in my early thirties, adult stuff.”
“Oh.”
“Well, I can’t blame you. I’ve just never really been around a lot.”
Emmanuel hummed in response, she knew Oliver’s parents were old, but she didn’t know Oliver wasn’t an only child like her. Elena seemed like a nice person so far, which Emmanuel had more questions. “Do you and Oliver at least talk?”
“Yeah, but I’m mostly busy. Taking care of two kids, me and my husband working out asses off just to make a decent living.”
“What kind of job do you have?”
“I work in an office, just something boring for kids your age.” Elena chuckled softly, “You ask a lot of questions, don’t cha, kid?”
Emmanuel nodded slightly, looking a bit shy and embarrassed.
Elena laughed softly, “Hey, it’s fine, you seem like a nice kid. It’s nice to know that Oliver has good friends like you and David.”
Elena parked in front of Emmanuel’s house, Emmanuel unbuckled her seatbelt. Elena spoke up before she got out of the car, “Hey, don’t get into any trouble. Stay a good kid.”
Emmanuel turned her head back, and gave Elena a soft smile and nodded her head.

What’s your favorite fairytale(s) reimagined piece of media? I’ll start first, beanstalked. It already looks so cool and reading about the characters makes me so excited to see more. The character design are amazing, your style is so damn nice to look at and seeing just how much these characters mean to you is so nice to see. MORE UNAPOLOGETIC LOVE FOR YOUR OWN STORIES! Everyone should I their own little fandoms in their heads! Draw those badass monsters! Make your silly little guys kiss! Your brain should be mush from your love of your own works! Also thanks for indirectly bring back my love for my oc’s from middle school, I missed those guys. Your stories have feel so nostalgic, so familiar and comforting but new and refreshing.
T thank yo ou u. I get so happy when people like Beanstalked, I KNOW I SAY THIS EVERYTIME SOMEONE SAYS THEY LIKE IT BUT I'MMA KEEP ON SAYING IT, because it is my baby 😭
AND YES-THE SELF INDULGENCE SPREADS
Tumblr media
As for fav fairytale reimaginings-OH BOY here we go because do I have a LIST
Hammerstein's Cinderella (1997): One of my earliest memories of a fairy tale retellings that I actually enjoyed as a kid. There are so many things in it that just hit along with the songs. Honestly, every other live action Cinderella falls flat in comparison for me.
Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child: I grew up watching reruns on HBO and it was a big motivation for me to say "fuck it" and make a vast majority of the characters in Beanstalked people of color. Plus, I love the design choices they make for a lot of the characters. And the 90s vibes are just sooo good.
American McGee's Grim: I love this demented little game and its style. The execution makes it worth it to play for me even if you aren't into fairy tales. Plus, how can I turn down technically having the ability to run around inside an ACTUAL level based on fairy tales. I have Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood, Pinocchio, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella and I like to play them occasionally just for the fun of it. And yes, that Jack and the Beanstalk is 100%ed
Shrek 1 and 2: I love both these films and they are very nostalgic to me but I especially love the second. It really goes all in on that "living in a fairy tale" aspect with Fairy Godmother, Prince Charming, the Frog Prince, Puss in Boots, etc. Plus, that "I Need a Hero" montage just goes so hard. It's honestly one of my fav animated scenes in a film.
Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio: I love stop motion. And I love retellings that know their source material while also adding their own flavor. This film is such a work of art from head to toe and I balled so many times watching. Plus the way it touches on the aspect of life and death makes me so happy.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish: I could gush on and on about how much I love the animations and characters but like…everyone has already done that for me so I will focus on what specifically made me love the film. And that's how it handles fairy tales. It takes a much more earnest approach than Shrek, which while I love, you have to admit it can be a bit mean spirited at times. So I enjoy how this movie was more of a "these tales are people living their lives". I love the found family aspect of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Puss in Boots being a legend and a bad ass and cocky like the OG tale. I even liked Jack Horner and how he was just that good classic "I am a dick and I own it" character. Personally, I view him as a sort of commentary on how companies will IP dump things to seem cooler and more successful. In this case, it's Fairy Tale dumping which is DEF something I've seen SO MANY TIMES because companies will thing having a bunch of tales in one thing automatically makes them cool since "DISNEY DID IT SO IT'LL WORK" and they just land flat on their face. I genuinely hope that more films in the Shrekverse have this sort of down to earthness to them…and if no the Shrekverse then maybe some more animated films that genuinely reimagine fairy tales.
Relating to the previous point but I do not care what anyone says that little boy with the cow and the giant covered in greenery was def a fuckin Jack and the Beanstalk reference and I will fight everyone tooth and nail about it I SEE A REF TO MY FAV TALE WHEN I SEE IT DAMMIT
Alice and the Nightmare: A webcomic that's based off Alice in Wonderland. Currently, it's one of the only Alice based reimaginings that I like and the art is just so GOOD??? I am always hyped to read the next update.
I'm sure there is like...a crumb of more but these are the ones that really resonate with me and motivate me to work on Beanstalked when I see them. I keep thinking the list is gonna be longer but honestly...it's the list of fairy tale retellings that I'm NOT into that is the long one. It doesn't help that I occasionally watch the off brand animated fairy tale based movie on Netflix for funzies and come out mildly disturbed.

Behold....
My RWBY Fairy Tale AU:
Ruby Rose: Little Red Riding Hood. Was cursed as a child to become a monstrous and aggressive grimm-like wolf when she is mad or in a full moon. She has a magic cloak to try to prevent these transformations. She was still protected by her family, but she wanted to get out and find her mom, who disappeared years ago. Yang and Tai tried to stop her and said it was too dangerous, but Ruby didn't listen. Unfortunately she got into some trouble in her mission, and almost got slayed by a hunter in her wolf form.
Weiss Schnee: Snow White. The princess of a kingdom was already sick of her father's authority, so she started to act more rebellious the more she grew in that kingdom. Jacques found out through a profecy from a witch that Weiss' rebellious behaviour would lead to his downfall. He tried to lock her in the castle but she ran far away. Jacques hired a desperate but brave huntress that lives in the woods to bring her back. But of course Weiss wouldn't be taken away so easily, and she would fight if needed. She wanted to leave the kingdom of Atlas to go after her older sister, who was on a mission in another kingdom.
Blake Belladonna: Both the Beauty and the Beast. Her story deviates a bit from the original tale but basically, as a faunus, and an outsider in her village, everyone treated Blake like she was strange, and she never felt like she belonged. One day she started to learn magic from a mysterious book, and she started to find out clues about the nature of the world of Remnant... But the hunter of the village, Cardin, found out about this and accused Blake of being a evil witch, so she went to the woods to hide and kept doing magic researches.
Yang Xiao Long: The Goldilocks. Yang always lived in the woods with her family, away from the village, and she was relatively popular around for being such a good huntress as such a young age, managing to fight bears when she was just a teen. However, Yang is different from most hunters, and hunts for survival rather than using that for status. Her younger sister Ruby was gone, and completely desperate to find her, Yang accepted a deal from the Atlas king. If she brought the runaway princess back, the king promised he would offer Yang all resources needed to find her sister. But when she found the princess (and after getting her ass kicked) Yang realized that bringing Weiss to her father wasn't right, and both of them started to help each other in their respective objectives.

Carnival part 2
Teens years
The annual SAMCRO charity carnival was in full swing, and Donna and I watched the boys ride the rides. School has been a bit much lately, and between that and club business, we needed something like this. After the tilt-a-whirl ended, we found ourselves under verbal attack from one of those smart-assed clowns that sit perched up on the dunk tanks, trying to get tough guys to spend money for a chance to drop them into the water.
“Ladies and gentlemen, what do we have here?” the clown barked, eyeing up Jax and Opie. “Well, if it isn’t SAMCRO’s finest! The big bad biker gang!”
“You used to throw a pretty mean fastball back in little league,” Opie said, handing Jax a dollar toward the ticket price.
“I don’t know, man, I haven’t thrown a ball in years,” Jax responded.
“Aw, what’s the matter, goldilocks? Pretty boy can’t throw a little ball at a little target? I should have known you biker bitches couldn’t handle this. Too much thinking involved,” the clown taunted.
“Think you can handle this, funny guy?” Tig said sarcastically, flashing the gun on his waist.
“Whoa, hey, guys!” the clown’s tone changed quickly, “I’m just ribbin’ ya. It’s part of the job, you know? I was just trying to get a rise out of—”
DING
Jax nailed the target on the first try, and we all laughed as the guy plummeted into the chilly water. Well, the clown didn’t laugh.
“Nice shot, Teller,” Tig said, patting him on the back and walking toward the clown. He walked up next to the tank as the man resurfaced. “So, what do you have to say now, funny guy?” Tig asked.
“Nothing, nothing at all. I’m sorry, I was just—” as he pleaded, Tig grabbed him by the head and forced him back under the water for a few seconds before releasing him.
“Relax, I’m just messing with ya,” Tig playfully slapped him on the cheek, kind of hard if you ask me.
The clown was so scared that he pissed himself in the tank, and they had to shut it down for a few hours. It was crazy but funny at the same time.
Little did I know that this carnival outing would become a yearly tradition, even when Jax wasn’t part of the living anymore. Even though those of us still above ground carried on the tradition year after year, it would never be the same after he was gone. I’m not much of a fan of “the now” or “the future,” which is why I do most of my living in the past, through my memories.
“This is too much,” Donna laughed as we watched Jax, Opie, Bobby, and Tig cramping into the child-sized carts on the Merry-Mixer ride.
“I know,” I chuckled, taking a bite of the funnel cake Jax had bought us to snack on. I had a bit of a headache earlier and wasn’t so sure about jumping on any rides right away, but Jax knew anytime I had one of my migraines setting in that, sometimes something sweet helped. The first thing he did once we got to the carnival was buy me some chocolate peanut butter candies, then minutes later; he handed me a funnel cake. Even though I wasn’t cramped into those tiny little carts with them, it was great to stand on the sideline and take in the view, locking the memory away in my head forever.
Bobby was the most cramped; I’d have to say. He was shorter than the others but also on the heavier side. Jax was still pretty nimble, and while he didn’t look comfortable, the look on his face told me he was enjoying himself. Opie too. Tig, well, let’s just say I’m sure Tig has been in tighter situations, and from the marks on his neck he supposedly got from one of the crow eaters, I would say he likes a little pain and discomfort. Ew, it’s gross just thinking about Tig like that. But as open as he is with her sexual adventures, it’s hard not to have some of his stories burned into my brain.
It was good seeing Jax smiling. School had been getting to him lately, and it was good seeing him relax and unwind a little.
“Having fun, Teller,” I giggled as he plopped down on the bench beside me. “Why yes, I am,” he shot me a smile before stealing a sip of soda. “Are you?”
“Yes, I am,” I replied, eyeing the photo booth. I must have been staring at it obliviously as the next thing I knew; he was ushering me over to it.
“Come on, let’s go,” Jax said, already pushing my wheelchair toward the booth before I could utter a word. But it was like I didn’t have to. He always seemed to know just what was on my mind, even in our younger years. As we approached the old blue weathered booth, Jax effortlessly scooped me up in his strong arms and sat me down on the cushioned bench, then sat down beside me. We started by making funny faces at the camera and then at each other. Then, just before the last picture snapped, he planted a kiss on my forehead, another little tradition between us that I was incredibly fond of.
The rest of the night was fantastic. Everyone had a great time. Opie won Donna a huge stuffed bear after she bet him that he couldn’t knock over all the bottles at the bottle game. Jax had won me a cute little stuffed red panda playing the ring toss too. But perhaps the most interesting thing that happened was Tig getting an invite back to the bearded lady’s caravan, which he seemed much too eager to accept.
We left the carnival; well, Tig didn’t, but the rest of us stopped for burgers and milkshakes at this old diner off the interstate that’s been there since the 50s. I still couldn’t believe how excited Tig was to spend a night with the bearded lady. He had been chatting her up since we walked through the sideshow and kept saying that hookin’ up with a bearded lady was something on his bucket list. Of all the guys in the club, Tig was easily the strangest.
Once we were seated at the diner, most of us weren’t too hungry. Opie swore by the cowboy burger there, claiming it was one of the top three best burgers he had ever had in his life. In fact, he put off eating anything big at the carnival just to make sure he had enough room for this thing. Jax got some fries, and Donna and I ordered the biggest milkshakes on the menu and split a slice of lemon meringue pie. Bobby, on the other hand, ended up spending more than the rest of us combined, despite trying something from nearly every concession stand back at the carnival.
“You know, you love Elvis so much, keep eating like that, and you’re going to have a heart attack just like’em,” Opie joked as the waitress lined up a row of burgers in front of Bobby.
We all shared a laugh at Bobby’s expense that was met with a sarcastic chuckle from the Elvis impersonator. “Precious has me on this all-green, all-lean diet. So, hell with you guys, I’m indulging a little,” Bobby grabbed the first of many burgers and did precisely that; he indulged.
After a pleasant dinner followed by an unpleasant moment of watching Bobby throw up $42 worth of fried food in the parking lot, we decided to call it a night. Opie drove Donna home, Bobby went back to his place, and after a quick payphone call to my parents, I had permission to stay at Jax’s.
“This is good, Jax; thank you,” I smiled as we sat on the sofa in his living room with our strawberry milkshakes. After that, we lay in the moonlit bedroom; all snuggled up next to one another. Jax kissed my neck, making me giggle, and I could feel his hand moving up to my breast, but as he got closer, he hesitated.
He must have remembered our conversation on prom night when we talked about taking things slow.
“We don’t have to if—” but before he could finish, I grabbed his hand and placed it on my breast,
“What kind of girl would I be to deny the mighty prince himself, Jackson Teller?” I said flirtatiously.
“Are you sure? Only if you’re okay with it. I don’t want you to think I’m pushing you into something you’re not ready for—” I had heard enough, and although I loved the sound of his voice, I was ready for him to stop with the talking and start with the love-making.
“You can feel me up all you want. I’m all yours,” I leaned over and bit his bottom lip.
“I love you, darlin’,” he whispered.
“me to” I whispered back.
And we made love for the first time. Of course, this would be the first of many love-making sessions, but no other time was as magical or memorable as this one.

Guess who watched the new puss in boots today and could only think of how he could turn it into an au? Me.
So i’m gonna explain my thoughts on an sbi/dsmp au puss in boots, spoilers ahead for the film
-
Puss in boots - techno, bad ass with a sword, doesn’t feel fear ect ect. He had several near death experiences and somehow made it out alive, but never truly enjoyed life, so dream (death) comes to finally take his life
Softpaws - wilbur. He is not in love with techno, cus that’s just weird ew and also it just makes aus better when they’re found family (says literally everyone ever). Wilbur distrusts techno after he left him alone in a room full of people who hated them, and somehow made it out. Has trust issues, but is still a badass
Perrito - tommy. Chaotic little shit, just wants friends, sees the best in everything and everyone because we love a good optimist :) tommy just wants techno and wilbur, two friends he starts to see as brothers, to be happy, and can see their brotherly relationship from miles away even when they can’t. He also saves the day, cus he’s actually awesome
Death - dream, man dedicates his life to hunting down techno because he doesn’t value his life as much as he should, and also just hates the fact he keeps getting away. After an epic battle, he realises that techno realises his life has value when there’s people he cares about in it, and that Wilbur and tommy make him a better person
Goldilocks - PHIL. That man just wants a family, idk what to tell you, him and his crows (cough cough the bears) dedicate their very souls to getting that wish because Phil wants a family. And he sees The renowned technoblade, Wilbur soot and some random blonde kid called tommy trying to get this wish, and decides if he can’t wish for a family, maybe he’d just make them his own, and bring his crows along with him
Jack Horner (the dude who eats the pie) - i didn’t actually have a set person for this, horner in this film is a horrible person through and through, the conscience on his shoulder not being able to influence him at all was proof of that. I dont know a character that didn’t change at all, like even c!dream learned at the very end it wasn’t worth it, and tho that was hardly anything at least he learned something! Horner was loved as a child, given everything including love and respect, and still he remained horrible, so i don’t have someone for him lmao
The cat lady Luna - I can just imagine Niki or Puffy taking all these stray cats in and taking care of them, :000 maybe BOTH OF THEM!!! Omg what if they both take in stray cats and like omg i had a realisation this is so cool
Anyways it was a fantastic film highly recommend, like it was genuinely awesome

Doesn't Tomato have his horns? If he does, why hasn't Ginger abandoned him? Also, how common is it for a Satyr to be raised by both bio parents like Cinnamon? Big fan of your work btw, please accept this meme as tribute.
Zeffer and Even after Connor went *missing*
Tumblr media
First of all, thank you for the meme and the huge laugh that came with it! Too accurate lmao. I love this!
Tomato has had horns since he was around 9-10 years old, which is typical. But Ginger wouldn't dream of abandoning him! Terrible things happened to her right after her own mother abandoned her, and it left her so traumatized that she swore she'd never impose that tradition on her children. She wanted to raise her children more like the "civilized" folk do, in a stable house with parental support.
However, Ginger lived in a city before, and she knows the civilized folk can be just as uncivilized as the feral folk in the wilderness. She considers the city too busy and the wilderness too remote to raise a family, and wished to raise her kids in that perfect Goldilocks-zone; a town that was not too big, not too small, but just right.
She knew Drifter's Hollow was home the moment she arrived. It was rural enough that she could be self-sufficient, but not rural enough to be menaced by feral folk. It was urban enough to have basic amenities like a market and tavern, but not urban enough to be blighted by social decay. The Hollow was the quiet, cozy town she was looking for.
It's uncommon for horned satyrs to still live with their parents, and almost unheard of for them to have both parents in the picture. Typically if they're being raised beyond puberty, it's by their mothers only. Satyrs hardly know the meaning of the word "father" because that instinct is just not in the male satyr's blood. Their instinct is to wander, to spread their seed as far and wide as possible, for as long as possible.
Itchy is a rare gem in that respect. Part of him wants to wander, but another part of him craves love and stability, and the latter is what keeps his ass planted in the Hollow with Ginger and their kids. They give him the love and warmth he was denied in his youth. He wouldn't trade them for anything, because he already knows what it's like to be a homeless, wandering bum with no one to love. He'd rather die than go back to that.
Cinnamon's situation is also rare. Satyrs have a bad reputation for a lot of things, but one of those things is abandoning "defective" young prematurely. It's common to find sick or dead baby satyrs in the woods, usually just on the outskirts of town. Like, so common that many jurisdictions have task forces specifically to deal with it. Not all of these children have birth defects (satyr mothers may abandon young early for many reasons) but a significant number do, because these mothers know that such a child won't be able to survive on their own, meaning they'll be stuck raising them forever. They also know that being a healthy satyr is hard enough, and the world will be extra cruel to a disadvantaged one (Everyone knows the story of Erasmos...). So, they do what they believe is merciful and hand them over to the universe.
Ginger and Itchy did not do this. They never once even considered abandoning Cinnamon. They fell in love with her the moment she was born and only felt the urge to protect her. Itchy even powered through his phobia of water to clean the muck off her.
And as for Tomato...it's rare enough for male satyrs to stick around for their own kids, but it's even rarer for them to stick around for someone else's. Tomato may not share Itchy's blood, but Itchy was there when he was born and he was there every step of the way after that. Itchy, too, was raised by a man who didn't share his blood--wasn't even the same species--but he still considered him "grandpa" all the same. So, it makes no difference to him where Tomato came from, he cares about him as if he were his own.
This is all just a long-winded way of saying...Ginger and her family are very atypical. You'll meet satyrs like them about once in a lifetime. Their situation is so rare that when Itchy met other satyrs in jail, they all thought he was lying when he told them he was married. Like, they straight up didn't believe him because the notion of a married satyr was so farfetched to them.

Story Preview
As I’m plugging through the second draft of my Zakkura omegaverse/werewolf story I thought I might drop the first chapter as it stands right now. The story itself will contain a lot of smut. A lot of monster fucking. And... you know... some compelling character exploration and growth. Future story tags will include, but are not limited to: omegaverse, werewolf, monster fucking, non-con, past physical/emotional/sexual/child abuse, character death, violence, secrets, heat, bucket loads of cum, breeding kink, sex toys, horror elements, swearing The tags don’t adequately describe how delightfully self-indulgent an depraved this story gets. And looking at the things I have tagged for makes me feel that somewhere along my writing journey I took a sharp turn down a dark alley that’s leading to an even darker basement. 😂 The chapter is under the cut. It is rated M and is 7000-ish words long. Tags for this would be mild horror elements.
I’d love to hear what people think and if anyone would be interested in reading more chapters. I will take silence as a vote for ‘no thank you, keep your depraved shit to yourself.’
Chapter 1 - Homecoming
Discomfort and irritability have been building over the last few days. It is the price he is willing to pay to save a couple of bucks. 4 days of cruising between pill packets before he would break open the next blister pack on day 5 and then the whole 28 day cycle would start over again. It’s what Cloud’s been doing for the past 5 years.
Yes, there had been mishaps at first while his body adjusted to the medication and while he figured out where the sweet spot lay where he could avoid or interrupt his heat before it blew out of control. 4 days off the medication. That’s his Goldilocks zone. It’s now day 4. He’s been feeling… not good. His ass is uncomfortable, so he went to take a pill only to find all the blister packets empty. Cold dread had washed through him. Not that it did anything to douse the growing warmth in his body.
He’s still clutching the empty packet as he makes call after call, trying to book in with a physician who might see him and prescribe pentaprox to him. He’s not getting any luck with anyone.
Cloud shakes and crushes the box with the empty blister packets inside with a mildly satisfying crunch. It’s not the packet’s fault that he doesn't discard the old blister packs. Not its fault that he thought he had more medicine available to him than he actually had. It pisses him off all the more and he throws the packet toward the kitchen as he gets another disappointing response to his inquiries.
Cloud paces his small one-bedroom apartment’s open living area, thinking what he could do. His heat will be here soon. He screams, grabs a cushion, and hurls it at the wall near the front door. It smacks into the calendar, and both items fall to the ground.
Extra annoyed, Cloud stomps over, chucks the cushion back onto the couch and picks up the calendar. He pushes the nail which holds up the calendar back into place and straightens it up. The picturesque mountainscape cools him down just a fraction. He looks at the various circled dates and notes scribbled on his calendar. A special green mark indicates he needs to refill his prescription. Cloud rolls his eyes.
Too little too late. He’s at a loss for what to do or how to handle himself now.
He’s still staring at the picture on the calendar. He could try that. Could try going home, but without visiting home. Just pass on by and hope no one notices him driving past. Why would anyone notice? Cars drive down the road all the time. His car is nothing special and no one will know it’s him. He’s not been back there in 9 years. He’d virtually be a stranger.
It’s an option. An option that’s also deeply unpleasant if it doesn't go right.
Cloud’s eyes drift down to the future date with his good friend Tifa marked on the calendar. That makes him think of something else. She’s always been helpful. She’s given him her medication in the past. Hope returns.
He calls her.
“Hello, Cloud. So nice of you to call. How are you?”
“Hi, Tif. Everything's fine but… I think I need your help.”
“What's up? You sound tense.”
“I messed up. I've run out of pentaprox.”
“Oh, hon. Can't you go see Dr. Scantling? I'm sure she would squeeze you in if you let her know it's urgent.”
Cloud sighs. “That’s the problem. I thought I could book in and see her while I was cruising between pill packets, but she's out of town and won't be back for another two weeks.”
“What about the locum?”
“Apparently he can't prescribe the medication.”
“Oh no. Could you try a different doctor? I can get you some names.”
“I've already looked. All the ones close enough to get to are booked out for the week.” His lip curls and he grits his teeth. How could he have been so self-assured and stupid?
“When does your heat start?”
“Tomorrow? Or the day after? I’m not sure. But it’s soon. I’m… feeling it.” He swaps the hands holding his cell and wipes his palms on his jeans. Even with the absorption pad in his underwear he feels uncomfortably moist between his ass cheeks.
“Oh. You really didn't leave yourself with much time. I keep telling you, cruising is a bad idea if you don’t have a backup pack ready.”
“Yeah, yeah. I know. I thought I had another packet somewhere, or still had a sheet left inside the pack I had, but I was wrong. Do you have any? I'll pay you back when I get mine.”
“I'm sorry, I don't have any to spare, and even if I did, I was put onto a different brand and I wouldn’t feel good giving those to you.”
Cloud hums. “Why did you change brands? Was there a problem with it?”
“Well, I’ve been getting flushes and I’ve had a few bad reactions to alphas coming to the shop. My doctor said we should try a different brand with a higher dosage.”
Cloud breathes out hard. This couldn’t have come at a worse time. “What if I have like half of a pill? If you have enough, could you share them with me?”
“I'd rather not risk it. You know the side effects can be lethal if the dosage is off. I couldn't live with myself if I gave you my pills and you ended up in a coma or something.”
Ending up in a coma sounds better than the idea of going through heat. He keeps that to himself though.
His silence is noticed as Tifa says, “I'm sorry.”
“It's alright. It was a shot in the dark.”
“What will you do? Do you want to book into Petals? I can see if they have a vacancy for you.”
There is a heavy weight in his chest when he thinks about the breeding clubs. He swallows painfully against the constriction in his throat. He supposes that it is an option. An option which isn’t palatable on many different levels. “I can't afford to go there for the full four days.”
“What about during the worst of it? Just a day or two? Take the edge off.”
“Still can't afford it,” he says snappishly.
“You're not thinking of going to a cheaper one, are you?” Tifa says, in an aghast tone.
“No,” Cloud says with disgust and grimaces at the thought. “I’d rather bankrupt myself to go to Petals than go to a heat hole.” His voice shakes and he clenches his fists. Taking a deep breath, he pulls his shoulders down from around his ears and says, “I’ve sworn myself off that scene. I’ll never be desperate enough to go back.”
“It’s not about being desperate, it’s—”
“I don’t care to hear your opinion.”
Tifa huffs. “Don’t bite my head off. I’m trying to help you think of all your options.”
He’s got nothing to respond with so gets up and purposefully goes to the hallway storage cupboard and pulls out a large backpack.
“How long has it been since you last went through a heat?”
The question catches him off guard in more ways than one. It’s a relief to not know. A relief that his heat hasn’t consumed his thoughts and behaviors in so long that he needs to count back the years and really think hard.
When was the last time? He vaguely recalls his 21st birthday. “Five years, maybe?”
“That is a long time. What about sex?”
Cloud purses his lips and closes the cupboard with an audible click.
“You know I don't mean to pry—”
“I know, I know.” The roll of the eyes is unavoidable. She doesn't mean to pry but she still is. He knows it comes from a place of genuine concern for him. He's concerned too, or he'd never have called her up. “It's probably been about the same amount of time. I haven't been with anyone since I quit the club scene and got medicated.”
Thoughtful hums come through the line. “So you're possibly going to have a tougher time than normal during this heat. It’s a drawback of the medication. Do you have enough supplies? Cold compresses? Heat packs? Heat aids? Pheromone diffusers? You have access to a bath, don't you? Do you want me to come over to check on you over the next few days? If you’re missing anything I can bring you supplies form my shop.”
“No.” There is nothing for him here. Resigned to his fate, he takes the backpack to his bedroom because he’s going to have to get packing. “Don't trouble yourself. I think I'll go away for a little while.”
“Where to?”
“Back home. I think I told you how I used to swim in the lakes there when I felt sick?” The idea of freezing water, and cold mountain air actually heartens him. The discomfort of the location aside, it might not be such a bad idea after all.
Tifa sucks in a sharp breath. “Do you really think that’s a good idea?”
He shrugs. “The Shinra’s have moved out of town, so it should be okay. I'm thinking of avoiding the town and everyone in it. I might visit mom on my way out. It’s been years. Might as well take the opportunity to say hi.”
“If you’re sure.”
“Yeah. I am. Thanks for the chat.”
“Sorry I couldn't be of more help. If you need anything, call me.”
“I only need pills,” he fires off.
“Sorry,” she says quietly.
Cloud swaps the cell to his other hand and wedges it between his ear and shoulder while he studies his wardrobe's contents. “Sorry for being snappy.”
“It’s okay. It’s the heat.”
“Yeah.” He sighs and grumbles, pulling drawers out to gather clothes for his impromptu camping trip. “I won't have reception where I’m going, so don't freak out when I don't call you, or if you can’t reach me.”
“Is that such a good idea? To go somewhere where you can't be reached? What if you have an emergency?”
Cloud rolls his eyes. “I’ll be fine. I know the country like the back of my hand.”
“You know that’s not what I’m talking about.”
“I’ll be fine.”
An unhappy sound leaves Tifa. “Heats need to be managed. You haven't had yours in five years. Your body won't be used to the sudden changes,” she nags. But then follows up in a softer tone, “Take it easy. Stay hydrated and cool, okay.”
“Yeah. I will. Thanks.” Tifa's such a mom when it comes to this stuff. It’s nice to be cared for and worried about. He smiles despite himself and crams a handful of items into the backpack. If she wasn't so thoughtful and sweet, Cloud would have never befriended her—correction: he'd never have let her befriend him.
“Get your meds when you come back.”
“Yeah. No worries. I’ve learned my lesson.”
Cloud hangs up and sighs with the world's weight on his shoulders. His wristwatch reads 12:11 PM. A frown draws his brows together. He's still got to pack. It's cutting it close if he hopes to set up camp before sundown—especially in the valley he's heading for.
Is this really such a good idea? Tifa’s nagging puts doubts in his head now. Does she have a point? Maybe? Is she being overly cautious? Yes. He may not have been camping for a long while, but he's a country boy, born and bred. That stuff doesn't leave just because he’s moved to the city.
And the heat… He's heard the stories. Everyone's heard the stories of coming off pentaprox or something equivalent without support. Whether that be medical support, or a willing alpha, or other omega's to care and assistance while the heat rages. It can't be so bad. They're just stories. After all, his body decided to go into heat spontaneously when he was 15 and that didn't kill him.
Though… it might have been better if it had.
Cloud looks through his possessions, realizing how grossly under-prepared he is for this expedition. He doesn't have a tent, or even a sleeping bag, or sleeping mats. There’s a water filtration system he needs to clean and change the filters on. He’s got tin camping utensils and cups, as well as canned food stuff. It goes some way but he knows he’ll have to head to the shops to get the remaining things he needs.
For now, he shoves the things he does have into the backpack, amongst his clothes. Though, he debates with himself how many pairs of pants he’s going to need. Is he going to wear pants? Or any clothes? He remembers feeling too hot to wear anything and spending hours in cold water. So maybe no clothes? It would lighten his load. But the idea of his ass leaking all down his legs makes him grimace.
He'll definitely wear clothes. At least pants. And that reminds him… Cloud goes to the bathroom, gets toiletries, and pulls out absorption pads in the back of the drawers. They are years old but still work just fine. He knows. He’s wearing one right now. With chagrin, he changes the one he’s got on and takes the rest with him, stuffing everything into the backpack.
How severe will his heat get? Will he feel like crawling out of his own skin? Will he throw up? He did, once. The more he thinks about it the more he hates himself for having landed in this predicament.
Cloud looks at his packed things. There's still room, which will be quickly taken up with all the extra things he’ll need to buy. He sighs with exasperation. He’s gotta get moving if he hopes to get anywhere before nightfall. The days are already short because of early spring. They’ll be even shorter in the mountains.
So he heads to the shops and buys some of the things he needs. But for some reason the main camping stuff: tent and sleeping bag, are not to be found. Correction: there are tents but they are all for large families. He only needs a single occupancy one. Carrying anything else is a waste of space. And so Cloud has a difficult choice to make. Buy a massive tent here, or head out and buy a smaller one at his destination.
Sure, he could go to another store, but he doesn’t want to waste any more time than he already has. So he settles on the idea of heading out and getting what he needs in town. But he’s no fool. He checks the stock levels on the website for the chain store, and sure enough, they have what he’s looking for in-stock. At a reduced sales price too, thanks to it being off-season in the tourist town.
It’s settled and he goes back to his car and drives off.
The two hour drive out to the country is filled with deprecating thoughts. He clearly knew he'd run out of his meds and needed a refill. It had been marked on the calendar.
Why did he forget? Yes, he's been busy at work helping his boss refurbish a fleet of vintage cars, which he’s really enjoyed and spent a lot of overtime doing. But that’s a poor excuse. He hates the omega part of his biology enough that not letting the heat happen should have been number 1 on his list of priorities.
He blames his doctor. If she wasn’t away this wouldn’t be an issue right now. He’s on day 4 of his pill cruising. He’d have gone to get a refill today and tomorrow he would have been right as rain. Even if he’d gotten a refill in another day or two he would probably be okay. A day or two of heated agitation and a leaky ass he can deal with. But the agonizing need to be filled is what he wants to avoid ever feeling again.
Going so many years without enduring heat has made his body all weak and intolerant. Cloud vaguely remembers that for a few years before he considered medical treatment as a serious solution, he rode out the heat using various methods. He cringes and pushes those thoughts out of his head. He’s not that person anymore. He’s learned. He’s forgiven himself and is a more tolerant person when it comes to alpha’s.
When it comes to himself though… Has he ever had a heat he actually enjoyed? He thought he enjoyed some, but on reflection, he really never did. He convinced himself he liked them. It was easier than seeing how much he hurt and hated. And now he’s about to go through all of it again, because of his own fucking negligence.
He hopes it'll be like riding a bike for his body. Realistically, it won't be anything like that though. His body isn't used to any of the changes. His resilience is at an all time low.
Why did he let it get to this stage? The more he thinks about his dissociative behavior toward his own biology the angrier he gets. That, in turn, makes his skin prickle and he rubs and scratches at his arm while he drives, digging and scraping fingernails along the inside of his arm.
It takes the focus away from what's really upsetting him. Catching his own action, he stops, turns the radio on louder, and grips the steering wheel harder as he races against the day to get to his destination before nightfall. ~~~
Cloud finally arrives. He stops at the intersection that leads from the freeway to town and he wrestles with himself. Does he really want to face these people? Most of them aren’t bad. A lot of them aren’t. He just doesn’t want those who sympathize with George or Shinra knowing he’s back. But what can those two men do to him now? He’s an adult. He can’t be forced into anything. Legally he can’t, anyway.
Cloud looks to the right where the road winds through fields and heads toward the mountain ranges. That’s the way he’s supposed to go. But he needs a tent. With a deep breath, he takes his foot off the break, turns the steering wheel, and makes for his hometown.
The going is slow. The road is peppered in potholes. Some are mere dents, while others are cavernous craters. This is one of the main roads in and out of town. It leads from the freeway into town, and in the other direction are the mountain ranges, which connect to other small townships and ski resorts. It can get pretty busy during the winter season, which doesn’t help the road.
Winter’s snow and sleet have eaten away at the road. Cloud knows it’ll get fixed in the summer, as it always has in the past, only to be broken again once the snow melts. It’s predictable. He should have anticipated this. Anticipated the forced slow speed eating further into his time. He’s jiggling about in his seat like he’s being put through a blender. It’s sheer misery.
Worst of all is that certain pot holes—no matter how many times they get filled in—keep coming back with absolute certainty, like they are haunting the road. Cloud comes up to one of the rare bends in the road. The trees and overgrown shrubs block the view of what’s beyond the bend, which is bad, because the mega pot hole, which Cloud has dubbed Shinra’s Asshole, practically forces him to cross onto the other side of the road to avoid breaking his car. Little Timmy is probably also waiting for him in the opposite direction. That sucker has tripped him up more times than he can recall.
He nods his head in wary greeting to Shinra’s Asshole and gets back on the right side of the road, heading into town.
When he gets there he’s hit with old feelings. Not nostalgia. It’s more of an eerie déjà vu. Nothing has changed. The lamp post by the post office is still crooked. The fire-hydrant by the grocer still has the same graffiti on it. The place also smells the same, as he gets out, wearing the one sweater he brought along, hiding himself beneath the hood.
With his head down, he goes about his business in the adventure store. He knows what he wants. It’s in stock. Good. He sees some compact floor mats that he grabs and a canteen. Unfortunately this extra time lingering in the store draws the attention of one of the shop assistants, who happens to be Jonas, a person Cloud used to go to school with. He asks too many questions about where Cloud’s been and where he’s heading, and wanting to catch up like they are old friends.
It’s mean in good faith, but all he is, is nosy.
Cloud doesn’t recognize the person at the sales counter and wishes he could have gotten to her before Jonas has ever piped up. There is nothing to be done about it. He acts as polite as possible without giving anything away, pays for his items, and leaves.
After that encounter, Cloud feels eyes on him. Maybe it’s paranoia. Maybe it’s the heat making him more perceptive to others' attention. Whether make-believe or not, he’s uncomfortable, and retreats deeper into his hood for the short duration that it takes him to get back to his car.
Once he’s managed to squeeze everything he bought into the backpack or strapped it on top of it, he gets in the car and heads back out toward the freeway exit. The going is slow. Cloud checks the rearview mirror, like he’ll be followed out of town, caught, and taken to the Shinra mansion kicking and screaming. He had nightmares of that happening. He hates that he remembers them now.
Carefully, he picks his way through the broken road. Unfortunately, the urge to get out of dodge gets him hitting some of the nasty pot holes. He hisses and winces every time it happens and prays that nothing’s broken underneath.
He could fix it if he had the tools. He didn’t think to bring any. So he hopes and prays and watches his speed and the road with greater care. He’s also watching the sun as it creeps toward the mountain range. It won’t be long now until twilight, and then a deep night.
Cloud’s former home comes into sight. Comparable to other farms around here, the brick house sits relatively close to the road, with a short driveway leading to the barren, dusty yard.
His stomach drops as he sees a person stand near the road. It’s his mother, Claudia, wearing the same floral-print dress he remembers her wearing for the majority of his life. She has a style and refuses to budge from it. It only reinforces how nothing ever changes in this place. Like it’s frozen in time.
Despite her not knowing Cloud’s car, she’ll see it’s him when he drives past. He wanted to avoid this. Wanted to only see her once he was on his way out. She hasn’t seen him in 9 years. He should stop.
As he nears the farmhouse he checks between the trees. George’s pickup isn’t there. It’s the only reason he does pull over. But he does so with grit teeth
He should have never gone into town. Jonas or someone else who might have recognized him called up his mother. Small towns and their gossip. It boils his blood and makes the growing heat inside feel all the worse.
Having put his car in park, Cloud sits there, hands on the steering wheel, looking straight ahead. How is he supposed to explain himself to her? What will she think? How had she been treated ever since he ran away? Does she begrudge him leaving? Is she mad that he never reached out to her? He had his reasons. She knows he did.
Cloud jumps at the knock on the window. He looks over, barely able to hold eye contact for more than a second, so concentrates on winding the window down.
“Cloud. Get out here, right now.” A tremble sits in her voice. Her breath is sharp.
Cloud takes a deep breath to fortify himself, swallows the lump in his throat, and pushes the door open like a heavy boulder sits behind it, holding it closed.
He feels exposed leaving the safety of his car. He still can’t look at his mother. All he sees is her dusty brown leather shoes with a floral pattern embroidered on the sides. The threads are worn and bleached of color. The hem of her dress is frayed and the dye has faded over the years.
“At last, you came back,” she says breathily.
Cloud gets yanked and stumbles right into his mothers winding arms. The grip is tight, squeezing him like she’s holding on for dear life.
Cloud stares over her shoulder with unseeing eyes. His mother's love and warmth radiates and permeates through all the years they’ve been separated. He feels like a child again. Frail. Afraid. But calmed. Secure. Safe. Relieved.
He clutches her and buries his face in the top of her shoulder. “Mom,” he sobs with the overburdened weight which still clings to him over having left her behind.
“Oh, Cloud. My baby. My boy.” She sniffles and hugs him tighter. They stay glued together until she steps back. But not very far and not out of reach. She holds Cloud by the arms, as if letting go would melt him, like a dream that fades after waking. Her eyes shimmer with unshed tears. She looks him up and down with a quavering smile trembling on lips.
Cloud looks at her now. Sees her in full. The gray hairs. The extra wrinkles. The thinning skin, and bags around her eyes. Nothing changes, everything remains the same. But time ravages on, and has left its mark on his mother. Tremendous relief overtakes him that time’s marks are all that he sees. He can’t help but wonder how many of those frown lines are there because of him. How much of her youth has been bleached away all because of him?
“I’m so glad you’re back. I still have all your postcards. Did you really go to all those places?”
Does he tell her the truth about his trips to gaudy souvenir shops and hours spent online imagining where he might go instead of actually seeking out adventure? “Some of them. Others I just thought you might like.”
“I do. Oh, I do. I loved them all. I loved knowing you were alright. You are alright, aren’t you?”
He thought he was, until his heat kicked in and he had to come out here. But objectively, he probably is. “I’ve been fine. I’ve got a place, and a job, and I’m doing fine.”
“What about a girlfriend—”she adds more quietly“—or a boyfriend?” Energy returns to her. “Kids? Oh, god, don’t tell me you’ve had children that I haven’t met yet.”
Cloud chuckles and it makes his own tears fall. “No. I’ve got no one. No kids. I’m fine though. I’m doing okay.”
She sighs and a firm warm smile graces her lips. “Oh, Cloud. Look at you. You’ve grown into such a man.” She hugs him close.
Cloud doesn’t think he looks too different. Clearly not different enough to not be recognized in town. Though he supposes he’s filled out a bit more, and his haircut’s changed too. Maybe it’s the scruff around his jaw and chin? He’s been too stressed to shave.
She pulls away again, but still holds on to him. “What’s made you decide to come back now? Have you come to visit me?”
Regretfully, he shakes his head. “Passing through.”
She glances toward the car. “You’re going camping? Where at? It’s getting late. How about you come inside and stay the night? We’d love to have you stay, even for a little bit.”
The implications of the ‘we’ sends a chill down Cloud’s spine. “I… I’d rather not. I need to go so I can make it before it's completely dark.”
“So you won't stay?” Dejection collapses her face. “He’s changed, y’know? It’s been better. A lot better.”
Cloud swallows down the visceral rejection threatening to bubble up and form a scream. “It’s not that. I’m… I have somewhere I need to be.” He looks over his shoulder at the mountain range, to see the sun slipping further down.
“Can you tell me where you’re going?”
Cloud’s stomach clenches tight and feels heavy. His chest might as well have a rock sitting right on top of it. “Down to the lakes.” He gives his mother an intensely pointed look.
Her mouth drifts open. “Because of… the flutters?” she whispers in abject dread.
He gives a small, almost imperceptible nod. His gut twists into knots.
Claudia’s hazy blue-eyed gaze falls off him for the first time. She pulls her arms around herself and after a moment speaks, “Will it happen soon?”
“Tomorrow.”
She takes a deep breath and looks at him again.
“You don't have to worry about me. I’m okay. I’m doing really good with all of that. And I want to keep it that way,” he says, with emphasis.
She nods. She understands. She knows. She knows everything. Quietly, she says, “You can't go to the lakes.”
“Why not?”
“It's not our land.”
Cloud wrinkles his face with confusion. “Not our land? Since when? I swam there all the time when I was younger.”
“Well… that was… it was never our land to begin with. It belongs to the Valentine family. His nephew lives there now. You can't trespass.”
Cloud scowls. What the fuck is he supposed to do now? “Maybe if I go ask him?”
Claudia smiles bitterly. “That's a wonderful idea. But he's not here. He leaves once a month on farm business. He should be back by mid next week.”
Cloud looks around, increasingly frustrated and annoyed. “What am I supposed to do now then? I… mom. I have no other option. I’ve been on medication to help me, but my doc is away and I’m out of pills and it’s happening tomorrow. I can’t… I can’t do the other thing. I need to go to the lake.”
Claudia looks down the road toward the mountain. She then looks the other way down the empty road. “It’s a big plot of land. He probably won’t notice. If he does, maybe I can bake him some pies as an apology for letting you trespass. He’s really a nice man. He probably won’t mind if you go.”
Cloud sighs and his shoulders slump. “Yeah?”
“Yes.”
“Okay. Well… I’ll get going then. I’ve—”
“Wait. It’s too late now.”
“I’ve got to go, ma. I can’t stay here.”
“I know.” She pulls his head down and kisses his forehead. “Just wait here a moment.” She hurries off toward the house.
Cloud waits, his gaze turned toward the road, keeping a watchful eye out for a dust cloud or any sign of a pickup coming this way. The sun is setting fast. He refuses to be here when George comes home, no matter what his mother wants him to wait for.
The longer he waits and watches, the itchier he gets to get back in his car.
His mother finally comes out, cradling an old shotgun Cloud recognizes from the mantelpiece above the fireplace.
“Take the gun,” Claudia says. “You still know how to use one, don’t you?” She holds it out to him as well as a box of ammunition.
“Yeah, of course I do. But I’m not taking a gun. What do I need a gun for?”
“Bears have moved into the hills, especially around Shinra's Pass. The lakes are fed from there. The bears come down in spring.”
“That's crazy. There're no bears here.”
“You haven't been here in a long time. I know it must'n't feel like it, but things do change. About four years ago now we lost almost all of our calves. Your pa was furious. He was going to bear trap the whole lower gully, but then that new fellow moved into old Valentine's abandoned farmhouse and said he’d put a fence up to keep the bears out. And he did, and it did. But you best take a gun with you. If not for your safety then at least do it to make me feel better about letting you go out there, trespassing and everything. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.” She begins to tut and shoves the gun against Cloud’s chest.
Frowning, Cloud takes hold of the weapon. “Are you sure it’s for bears?”
“Only for bears,” she says sternly. “He has changed. He’s given up drinking. Things are better.”
“Because I’m gone.”
“No. I mean… maybe, yes. He needed a break to see what he’d done and how he was. He misses you. He’s… sorry.”
Cloud grits his teeth. “Sorry doesn’t—” He bites his words down. This isn’t what he came here for. Not even remotely. “Alright. I’ll take the gun. For the bears,” he says with a sarcastic drawl.
“Thank you. It’ll make me feel better. Don’t forget the ammunition.” She hands that over and looks down the road with a hesitant gaze.
Her unease rubs off on Cloud. He checks the safety on the weapon and opens the back of the car, storing the gun and ammo in a safe spot. He comes back around to his mother.
“When will you be back? I have so much I want to talk to you about. Please come over before you leave. We both want to see you. After you feel… better,” she says in a thin voice and gives him a brittle smile.
He doesn’t know how he can feel so loved and yet shunned all at the same time. He knows it’s not his mother, but more George that’s causing the tension. And as much as the idea of being around here doesn't appeal to him, he still does the required mental arithmetic to figure out when his heat might end and he might come back. “Wednesday. If I’m not back by sundown the bears’ eaten me,” he says wryly.
“Not funny, darling.”
Cloud chuckles. He catches a rising dust cloud in the distance. His mother looks over as well.
“You’d better go, dear. It was so good to see you. Please, don’t be a stranger. He’s changed. Really. I miss you.” She gives him a loving kiss and hug but doesn’t linger.
Cloud hurries into his car and makes to leave while his mother tells him to take the Steadman paddock and to follow the road down to save some time. “And don't forget to close the gates,” she says as she follows Cloud, who’s driving at a crawl.
“Thanks, ma.”
“Love you.” She blows him a kiss.
A pang of guilt hits him square in the chest at the image of his mother growing smaller in the rearview mirror. He's lost count how often he's fantasized about coming back to the house and taking her away from this hellhole.
He focuses back on the asphalt, eager to gun down the road, but he needs to avoid the potholes, so he goes carefully and pays attention.
Lucky for him, he gets to the slight curve in the road before he sees the pickup truck in his mirrors. The more distance he can get between himself and that man the better.
He checks the mirrors while keeping an eye out for the paddock's gate. Discomfort thumps in his chest. This was such a bad idea. He should have gone to Petals.
While he berates himself anew, he finds the paddock gate, does as his mother requested with closing it, and drives across the field, following the dirt trek as it leads him to the next gate, and the next gate.
He's miles into the farmland. Nothing but fields surround him and it is there, at the Steadman paddock which backs onto wilderness, that Cloud pulls over. This is the closest he can get to where he's going by car. It's been a steady decline driving here and many trees and shrubs are between him and any possible view of the farmhouse, so Cloud relaxes his tense hold on the steering wheel.
The mountains loom like sleeping giants in the distance, casting the land into twilight as the sun has long sunk between the peaks.
Cloud watches night descend behind the wheel of his automobile. He definitely can't get to the lakes now. There is nothing to be done about it and he opts to sleeping in the car tonight.
Better that, than to unpack everything only to repack again in the morning.
Cloud makes space, reclining the front passenger seat as far as he can. He unrolls the sleeping mats and digs out the sleeping bag. The heat hasn't fully set in yet so he feels the chill in the air. The sleeping bag should keep him comfortable.
With the interior of the car decked out he turns to his other immediate needs: food and personal comfort.
The plan was to cook over fire. He can't really do that out in the field. Plus, despite being out of sight from the house, he doesn't want to risk rising smoke being seen and drawing unwanted attention.
So it's a plain dinner affair. Bread. Cold cuts of meat. A protein bar. He's not really all that hungry anyway. There is a buzz in his body. His ass feels gross. What he wouldn't give for a shower. He also reeks. It's the pheromones, or something. Usually he can't smell himself, but the heat gets him sweating up a storm.
He wishes he could tell his body to calm down. There is no one out here to take notice of him. No one to fill him or… breed him. Cloud grimaces at the turn of phrase. It's all so gross. Omega's and the entitlement of alpha's to omega's bodies is all so gross.
Sitting in the dark, in front of an electric lantern he's brought along, grows an introspection that hasn't been there in a long time. He's been preoccupied with running away from himself by keeping busy. But out here, among the star-studded sky that feels so vast and expansive, it's like being adrift in the ocean of his own thoughts.
He's successfully denied himself the feelings and sensations that are now stirring and waking in his body. He's always hated his biology, for as long as he can remember having been made aware of them. He hates how he's been made lesser in other's eyes. George's eyes. His own eyes.
Cloud rubs his face. These thoughts aren't at all enjoyable. In fact, he thought himself better than this. Better than feeling so much resentment toward alpha's. Not being in heat made him put that stuff behind him. But now that it's starting to build, and with it his urges that need someone else to be properly satiated, all the old resentments rise to the surface again.
All the omega positivity movements can go to hell. ‘Alpha's service you.’ He thinks that line in a mocking tone. He is and always will be something that alpha's see as theirs to get their rocks off to.
Even the alpha's at clubs. Their fake respect can't make up for the fact that they get paid. If they weren't getting paid—if there wasn't a risk to their livelihood being taken away if they let their true nature ring out even a little—Cloud feels certain that even the 'good alpha's' would turn to self-serving assholes the minute they got inside an omega on heat.
Cloud breathes out a loud huff of air, which turns into billowing mist. He's getting worked up for nothing. Clubs serve a purpose. He shouldn't get upset about it. He made the choice to walk away, which is why he's out here right now.
Insects buzz, chirp, and some even lightly clink against the glass of the lantern. Cloud hasn't felt this exposed to the elements since he left his hometown. It brings with it good and bad thoughts.
He steers clear of the bad, packs up the food wrappers, turns off the light, and hops into the car to settle down for sleep.
It's cramped and hot. He cracks the window, grabs Choccy, his Chocobo stuffie, which used to be a lot more vibrant in color and rounder, and snuggles with it as he twists and turns to get a comfortable position. ~~~
Cloud wakes up with a grunt. His heart races. Sweat drips. It's stinking hot. He grabs the lantern before he exits the car. The moon's light is bright, but Cloud's still got the lantern on so he can make out the dark shapes on the ground.
Not that it helps him much at all. The stumbles are unavoidable as he walks across the uneven paddock toward the fence to take a leak.
The cold night air offers welcome relief as he stands outside going about his business. Cold nips at his skin and fingers. The sweat clinging to his brow actually serves its purpose and draws the heat from his pores.
Slowly, he draws his vision up toward the cloudless sky. The brilliant specks of light twinkle above and take his breath away.
Looking up reminds him that he isn't all there is. It makes him feel like a speck of dirt and insignificant enough to get perspective from his day to day problems. It makes for welcome relief and he finds himself smiling up at the endless worlds and possibilities that exist out there in the vast reaches of space.
He finishes off and pulls his gaze back to his more earthly needs. Cloud tenses with fright and looks out across the next paddock at two points of light, reminiscent of cat's eyes.
They extinguish. Just like that. Cloud's breath remains stuck in his chest. He lets out a slow sigh.
What was that just now? Fireflies? Not in this weather or in this season. He tucks himself in and raises the lantern as he peers into the still darkness.
It is still. Almost too quiet. Where did all the insects go? There is nothing but silence. With narrowed eyes, he stares into the dark, straining to see and unable to tell if it's his vision playing tricks or if there really is a patch of darker shadow on the dark ground.
The wind blows, taking the last of the sweat on his skin with it. Slick gushes from his ass. Cloud jumps with a squeak and squeezes his sphincter to try and stop it from coming out. Futile really.
He turns back to the car and waddles over to freshen up.
God. He hates this so much and can't wait to get to the lake tomorrow.
After getting himself settled, he takes one last long look out across the paddock, but sees nothing. The insects chirp. He returns to the car to get more sleep.

when you get this you have to answer with 5 things u like about yourself, publicly. then, send this ask to 10 of your favorite followers (non-negotiable, positivity is cool) ♡
WHY DO I NEVER GET ANY NOTIFICATIONS ON THIS HELLSITE? HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN SITTING HERE? God ?? 10 things I like about myself ??? fbdbsjklbfdjks uh
I have just a ton of freckles that never completely go away, including one very tiny one near the center of my right palm. Sometimes the Child wants to have freckles like me, so I call this palm freckle the 'freckle stamp' and just bop her all over until she's laughing.
My hair is turning a silvery white color in places. I hated this, especially when it first started a couple years ago, but last year I decided, y'know - fuck it. I've always thought characters with dual colored and graying hair were super cool, now I am one.
My memory for music is pretty great! The other day I turned on Hairspray for the first time in a few years and was shook by how much of it I remembered. I can sort of ?? Hear it ??? In my head? Idk if that makes sense. It's sort of like I can just turn Youtube on in my brain and rock out.
I won't do work I consider sub-par for someone else. Sometimes this can just bite me in the ass, but like... anything worth doing is worth doing correctly, I guess, especially when it's a token for someone else. I spent about a week renovating my old dresser set for my cousin last fall: replacing the hardware, stripping, sanding, painting, polishing. It was a massive pain in my butt, but giving her something nice to call her own felt really important to me.
Mm uh. I can find compassion for most creatures, even those I don't personally like. Except for moths and grasshoppers, fuck those guys.
To quote the child: I am "soft, squishy, comfy like a pillow". Everyone likes snuggling on me.
dsnflksdlkdnfl this is so hard? My creativity, but specifically for like... child based things. I enjoy making little stories and puppets and props for kids. I made a homemade felt board for Goldilocks once, including figures, and it was a blast using them to create new stories for the kiddo.
I'm excited over every child, plant, animal, and cool rock I see. Tiny dog in the next car over? Fuck yeah. Cool stone? I'm taking a picture and sending it to fifteen people. Plant? SNIFF IT. Just an endless enthusiasm for stuff that comes out of nowhere. I spent an hour in Lowe's the other day just wandering around the garden section.
I have a way with animals, by which I mean I respect the hell out of them. I will not distract your dog. I will lift a mini trampoline over my head to rescue a stuck cat. I am the queen of chickens.
I'm only 4 ft 11 so I can fit into some small places, which is fun. Being unable to put my feet on the floor is annoying, but I can walk under open cabinets, curl up on exactly one couch cushion, and hide under my bed. You know who thinks of looking for a grown ass adult under a bed? No one. I am the hide and seek champion.

quick addendum in anthropocentrism in science fiction: you can go wild. it's fictional. don't be scared of making aliens be, well, alien. that's the entire point- they evolved in very different ecosystems and in different ways. convergent evolution is a thing, of course, when ecosystems are similar (and keeping the Goldilocks Theory in mind, their planets will be, at least in terms of climate, somewhat similar to Earth, so there's that) but otherwise don't assume they'd be like us in any other way.
hell, all tomorrows made a very good job at creating a good bunch of intelligent species (out of all the non-sentient ones) that look nothing like humans and are utterly alien to us, down to their technology and culture, as they developed from wholly different animal species in wholly different planets... and that's taking into account most of those animals they descended from were humans heavily genetically modified by fascist bug aliens. including flesh blocks, flesh cones, talking giraffes, cat-men, and human flatfish. and when the human-descended aliens interacted with each other, and then with other separate species, like the saurosapients (lizard people) and the nested heads (two-headed space snakes), guess what! they all were different! and they interacted with zero issue up until they eventually went extinct!
and what about man after man? it also created new species (sentient and not) out of humans, but it went even more off the rails, including non-scientific elements such as psychic powers and whatnot, and ended with humans becoming fucked up alien invaders!
so if TWO science fiction books can make loads and loads of extremely weird, fucked up, un-humanlike alien species WITH HUMAN BODY PLANS as a basis for them, you can go and make that roach alien be so fucked up comparing it to a human would be like comparing an egg to a strawberry.
Star Wars has loads of aliens (a shame they aren't on the spotlight more often), Star Trek made a lot of species and cultures, doctor who is the poster child for weird-ass aliens, Men In Black has loads and loads of non-anthro aliens that look nothing like anything on Earth and are treated just as any other human would be treated, and the Valerian: City of Alpha movie (it's good go watch it) has a very varied cast with very interesting designs.
GOD even Howard Poward Lovecoward created a bunch of alien species whose entire thing were being so weird and alien to us it was impossible to describe unless you compared them to other things, and even then the mere fact of knowing such shit exists was enough to make you have a mental breakdown because not only we're not alone in the universe- the other things in the universe are nothing like us, they don't care about us at best, and also have always been there. this was coming from a racist crusty asshole-- you are capable of writing similar stuff with much better quality and even more imaginative designs.
and just so that you have an idea of where I'm going: our own animals are very weird. octopi are weird as hell. birds are little fucked up dinosaurs. the mere fact sloths exist bogles my mind. now imagine something so out there, they find our most "normal" animals impossible to comprehend, and you have the idea.

More Than You Think
Pairing: Butchercup/ Greens (Buttercup x Butch)
Fandom: PPG
This was a commission/gift for the amazing @over-under-through1 who trusted me enough to write her some greens.
The dynamic is much softer for greens than i usually write because we love soft butch. This is just a journey of Butch realizing that he is in fact dumb and fancies a light green puff :)
----
Butch: Age 12
Of course Boomer would trip the alarm, he always did. Butch grumbled as he herd the familiar buzz of the bank alarm going off. They weren’t supposed to get caught, well he was the only one here anyways. Boomer was in the back room messing around with the safe and oops, now that loud ass sound is piercing through his head. Brick’s gonna be pissed.
They hadn’t robbed a store in months, kept more on the down low as they got older but even pesky twelve year olds need money and food and hey, Butch liked to have a good time. He would have preferred blowing some shit up instead but Brick’s bitching wasn’t something he wanted to challenge this late at night.
“Make that thing shut up!” Butch growled towards the back where Boomer had shouted “I’m trying damnit!”
But it didn’t matter, it never did. You could have all the fun in the world but it would be ruined no matter how good you were at your job. Eventually all the fun would come to an end.
He could hear it. Like noticing a fly when having dinner. The slight buzz of its wings, that's what it was like. The siren cut off and soon he could hear it crystal clear. He had it memorized by now. Their flying patterns and how each of them landed was its own noise. He bit back a snarl, barely tasting blood as they touched down on the ground. Fuck.
He turned on his foot with a slouch in his hip and a roll of the eyes as they stood before him.
“Buzz kills” He mumbled and locked eyes with the three super heroines.
They stood tall and proud as always. The princesses of the kingdom were here to rescue it once again, it was just a measly break in. Did they have to deal with every single small inconvenience. Guess the cops were no help but he’d rather get in a punch with someone who could handle it then in a pair of handcuffs.
He stared them down. First was the leader. Blossom or he liked to call Pinky because, well he didn’t need to explain himself. Next was Goldilocks whose voice was like nails on a chalkboard to him. Cute but annoying, no wonder Boomer was her counterpart.
And then there was her. She had a deep scowl and hooded eyes as if she had just woken up. Which would make sense as the moon was high in the sky and the only lights were the ones in the broken building. Buttercup was the only one who ever caught his eye.
“Alright just drop whatever you have and make this a clean deal.” Pinky spoke. It was startling how similar she was to his older brother, by like thirty seconds, she had that same cold stare but the baby doll pink eyes really didn’t add much fear.
“Not holding anything dumb ass.” He spat at her and held his palms open. He watched her visually straighten her shoulders from the insult and Goldilocks scoffed and yet the girl who rivaled him just had an icy glare.
Unlike her sisters, she was the only one he could tolerate, if anything. She had a killer kick and plummeting punch but she matched him in wit and snarky comments. Deep down he enjoyed whenever they got to have a full on thrashing but right now, he wasn’t in the mood and clearly, she wasn’t either.
“Got the alarm to-shit!” Boomers eyes widened as he stumbled out of the back and he wished he could have just punched him in the face for being so careless.
He watched as Pinky glanced around. The only broken item was the lock on the door and nothing had been stolen either. It should have been but blue eyes had to fuck it up. His knuckles cracked within his fists, the loud noise echoing through the untouched bank.
“Look.” Blossom started. “You broke in, disbanded the alarm and there's no way you can steal anything now, so I suggest just taking whatever dignity you have left and just walk away. Maybe next time you can do something worth our time.” She finished.
“Worth your time.” He heard Boomer mutter under his breath. A low blow for sure.
She might have been ‘everything nice’ but over time her words had taken to the spice side.
If Brick were here he probably would have gotten into her face and a brawl would have started. But he wasn’t and that pissed him off. He didn’t even care about the money any more. He had a headache and wanted to sleep and if Brick really wanted this shit, he could come down and bust it out himself.
He turned on his heel to Boomer who just raised his brow. He nodded towards the door and they both decided that a full on fight wasn’t what they wanted to do. After all it's been a couple of years since they had one and getting his ass kicked by a girl when they were outnumbered really wasn’t on his to do list. They would easily take dumber than the dumbest down in a flash and his ass would be a full buffet. 1 against 3 wasn’t on the agenda.
Butch scoffed and began to walked towards the door but stopped in front of the girls. Blossom narrowed her eyes and he saw the flash of pink within her palms.
“Relax doll, we are leaving. Boomer, get going.” He scoffed at his little brother, by twenty seconds, for making goo goo eyes at Goldilocks. He didn’t miss the small smile she was trying to hide and just rolled his eyes at them. Pathetic.
Butch passed Blossom and stopped at his own counter part. The neon green eyes seemed to glow slightly under the dim light and they wore matching expressions that held unamusement. She only blinked and raised her eyebrows.
“We don’t have all night Butch.” She spoke and he rolled his shoulders back before pushing past her. “Get your sorry ass out of here before I beat it.”
He flashed her a smirk before gripping the collar of his brother’s shirt and pushing him forward to leave. “Kinky.” He winked at her before they took to the skies and he let out a laugh as he could hear her frazzled complaint from below.
--
Butch: Age 13
There was something comical about him entering the school gates for the first time in his life. After Mojo Jojo was thrown in the slammer, again and again, the boys' custody shifted towards Ms. Bellum who decided to take on the challenge of three thirteen year old boys who had the mindset of destruction.
“This is all yours.” Ms. Bellum gestured to the nice apartments. Each of the boys got their own room, a kitchen, a living room and loft space. There was even a room that was dedicated for use of their powers. She had said something about the powerpuff brats having something similar so if they ever got the urge to blast lasers, it would be down there.
It wasn’t too bad after all. Butch finally had his own room and didn’t have to worry about Bricks loud ass snoring or Boomer waking up at the crack of dawn for some unholy reason. His temper had died down slightly and the urge to steal really wasn’t there. Mostly because food was provided and the new mom actually cared about him.
She was sweet and sassy and even when his fist sparked an electric green, she simply placed her hand over it and told him to stop. The boys then worshiped her. What kind of non-super does that? One worth respecting of course.
He also found it funny that dear old dad Him was upset but after a talk about child support and schooling, the boys were left to the brain of the city. So much for wanting custody.
“You should make some friends Butch.” Bellum said to him as she fixed his hair and finished zipping up their bags.
Boomer had already attached his hip to the Goldilocks and Brick had found Princess annoying ass tolerable, how? He would never know.
He grumbled before taking his bag. “Sure.” Maybe the lady was right, after all it would be lame to only hang out with his bros.
The limo was kinda cool, he wouldn’t lie. Being dropped off in front of everyone with a car worth more than these kids parents salaries always puts a skip in his step. Plus she wanted to make sure that they actually made it to school. When his feet touched on school property, she was gone.
His brothers ditched him in a flash. Boomer was now deep inside the school probably trying to talk his way into the blondes heart and Brick was most likely rolling his eyes at Princess while not so secretly looking for his redhead counterpart. As for him. He didn’t do too well socially.
He was much more of a homebody and tended to keep to himself. A social outcast like him didn’t need to be disappointed when fake ass people turned their back on him. Maybe people who did bad things were more his type but when you went to school with the Puffs, he imagined no one really did anything bad.
Mama did tell him to make friends. The only person who came to mind made him scowl but he did need a good laugh, and someone who could take the heat. He had about twenty minutes until the annoying bell rang so he followed the path of the school grounds towards the back.
From a distance he saw her sitting alone at a table outside. There were books and papers laid out and he never pegged her for the studious type. Why was he nervous? It wasn’t like it was a secret that they had joined the school but he hadn’t had a run in with any of the girls, unlike his brothers.
His fist held a death grip on his backpack strap as he walked towards her. His mind yelled at him to turn around and go the other direction, maybe befriend the group of boys who always ditched class to smoke behind the school. Those were his people in the long run and mama would probably be proud. The rule breakers, the ones without a care in the world so why in the hell was he going towards a girl who probably hated his guts and wanted his ass in jail.
He stood in front of her table and when she didn’t notice he finally spoke up.
“Sup.” He said casually and she lifted her head.
Her face was slightly scrunched as she looked around and then focused back on him. “Uhh...Hi?” She narrowed her eyes at him. Typical. But not in the “why am i awake at 1 am to deal with your ass”. More like “why are you talking to me?” Kinda way.
He didn’t wait for her to protest him being there so he threw his shit on the table and sat down. “This place is pretty lame.”
She gave him a blank expression before returning to her stuff. “Yeah I guess.”
He eyed the books on the table. Chemistry. “What are you? A nerd now?” He picked it up and flipped through the page. There were tons of sticky notes coming from all directions and more highlighter than what seemed as necessary.
She scoffed and rolled her eyes before flipping to a fresh page in her notebook. “It's called homework and chemistry is pretty cool.”
“Doubt it.”
“Well you do need an IQ over 5 to understand it, so you probably wouldn’t enjoy it.” She smirked as she stuck the end of the pencil to the corner of her mouth.
He didn’t know why he laughed as well. Usually a taunt like that ended with a fist in the face and a smash to a wall, but for once, he just laughed and threaded his fingers through his hair.
“Whatever.” And she laughed too.
There was something almost supernatural about seeing her in such a mundane place. He only knew her in the skies, fist clenched and dirt smeared on her face. Hair going crazy as her green streak followed her and the hard hit of her power. Eyes glowing with an insane amount of rage but here it was different.
There was no yelling or screaming. Maybe a glare here and there but she was...normal? She wasn’t all powerful and mighty to the eye. Instead it was a calm and cool energy. Someone who was busy with school work not monster fights and demons.
“So what do you do for fun in this dumb?” He took a book and flipped through its pages. Too many words, eh.
Her eyes were back on her book as she jotted down something. “Eh not much. Sports and just hang out with people who aren’t lame”
“Like your sisters?” He teased and she snorted.
“Yup” She popped the ‘p’. “Mostly friends my teams or Mitch the boys.”
Mitch and the boys. For some reason he couldn’t understand, hearing that his best friends were boys and put him in an odd place.
“They must be cool.”
“Oh we are.” He heard a voice come from behind and soon the table had two extra members. “Names Mike.” The first dude outstretched his hand towards him with a smile.
“Careful you don’t know where those hands have been.” Buttercup said and Butch shot her a glare before accepting the handshake, the first one he ever did.
He glazed at the other dude. “You must be Mitch.” And he nodded.
“The one and only.” He responded before looking at all the books. “Geez B how much have you been slacking off?”
She grumbled something and shot him a deadly glare. “Geez Mitch how many times do you save the city a week?”
His hands went up in surrender and Mike laughed before tossing her an energy drink. Here I snatched this from my dad.” His eyes went to Butch. “So you obviously know our little lamb chop here, how?”
“Lamb chop?” Butch laughed.
“Ignore him. This is the dude I blew up.” She closed her book.
Mike’s eyes widened. “Yo you’re death kiss boy!”
They all turned towards Mike and Buttercup kicked his shin. He made a noise and Mitch rolled his eyes before taking the initiative to change the subject.
“Your brothers were taken in by Bellum right?” Mitch asked.
Butch leaned over and took the rest of Buttercups drink without a protest from her. “Yep. Pretty sweet deal. She's not too bad.”
“Bellum is a goddess and you better treat her with respect.” Buttercup spat before shoving the rest of her stuff in her bag. “I have to get to class early, see ya.” She glance at Butch. “Try not to do anything stupid and don’t rob them, they are both broke.”
“Hey!” Mike and Mitch yelled in unison.
Butch gave a small laugh before giving her a small wave. “See ya Lamb Chop.”
Her expression turned sour before she scoffed and turned around towards the main building.
“So you two are now buddies?” Mitch asked. “Thought you hated each other.”
Butch’s eyes were still locked on her even when she disappeared into the hallway. There was this stranger feeling within him, one he didn’t know the word too but hatred wasn’t in his system with her anymore, at least that he knew of.
“She’s not bad.” He finished off the soda while the two boys just nodded. --
Butch: Age 14
Buttercup never expected to be sitting in the room that belonged to the person who tried to kill her many times. It was weird but also felt completely natural as they sat on his bed and played video games. She was beating him of course and he said it was because she had video games growing up.
His demeanor had changed over the months as they got closer. Mitch and Mike as well as a few others welcomed him into their little squad. They would go see movies and even though he was born for evil, he rarely did anything bad. Besides the teasing and pranks, he was like a normal kid.
Just with laser beams and dark glowing eyes.
The round ended and she laughed in victory. “Take that snail guts.” She beamed with pride and he only pouted and started another round.
“Whatever Lamb Chop.”
“Told you to stop calling me that.”
He finally got a hit in on her character. They were playing a fighting game and just like real life, he was losing.
“Can I ask you a question?” She said as her character kicked him in the face.
“Shoot.”
“What was Mojo like?”
“You’ve met the monkey.”
“I met in terms of a father.”
The clicking of the buttons filled the room and she suddenly felt bad. “Sorry that's really personal-”
He paused the game. “No it's fine, I just didn’t think you would care.”
“I do.”
“Well for starters, he's super annoying with those damn monologues.”
Buttercup snorted. “For sure.”
“It just sucked to be honest. To know that he only wanted us for control and to defeat you, not because he wanted kids.”
“That must be rough.” She stated. “I never thought about it like that but I would be pissed if it was just for personal gain.”
“Your dad created you for personal gain.”
Buttercup brought the soda to her lips again. “I guess so.”
“But then again.” Butch took his own drink. “It wasn’t about power. It was about having daughters.”
“Yeah.”
“Too bad he got stuck with you.”
She punched his arm lightly. “Shut up!”
Butch only let his back fall to the bed as he swept his hand through his black locks. “Sometimes I wonder if anything good ever came out of this for Mojo.”
“I think you being here was the good thing, whether or not he deeply cares doesn’t matter anymore. There's a lot of people who probably care about you more than you think.”
“Yeah I guess so.” He thought about his brothers and Bellum.
“Well I’m happy Mojo created you and then you know, Him did.”
He gave her a scoff. “Yeah after you fucking killed me.”
“To be fair. I didn’t know what would happen. But on the bright side, your hair is better.” She shrugged before reaching her hand out and pushing her fingers through it.
A weird and unfamiliar electric buzz ran through his system from the contact. Her hand came back to her side as the notion of what she just did registered in her mind. She looked at the clock on the wall before hopping off the bed and grabbing her back pack.
“I got to go but I’ll see you tomorrow.” She said and he nodded. She began to walk out and spotted his hoodie lying on the desk. It was black with the sleeves having a dark green color. She picked up the fabric and turned towards him. “I’m stealing this.”
“Wait!” He called her and she turned around.
“What?”
“Why do we call you Lamb Chop?” He asked.
She stood there debating whether or not to tell him. He did tell her something personal so she looked at him with a blank expression. “I once choked on a lamb chop.” And then she opened the door and left.
He sat on the bed looking at the closed door. He furrowed his brows before looking at the screen that was glowing slightly.
There's a lot of people who probably care about you more than you think.
“Maybe.” He whispered to himself. --
Butch: Age 15
He decided high school was a personal hell hole. Even with his powers and snarky attitude and gross sense of humor, people really liked to push his buttons.
“Dude what crawled up your butt and died?” Mike asked as he sat at the lunch table.
Mitch joined them and looked at Butch who had a scowl on. “Probably because Jason asked out Buttercup.” He smirked.
Mike took a bite of his apple. “Oh shit really? Does he even play sports?”
“Track and debate. I don’t think he has the highest scores.” Mitch replied. “Butch seriously you look dead.”
“Couldn’t sleep last night.” He mumbled before slamming his head down.
They heard the footsteps approaching the table and soon Butch felt the shift in weight on the shitty lunch table bench.
“Sup losers.” Buttercup said as she took her seat. She was wearing the hoodie she had stolen  last year and they had forgotten that it even belonged to the green ruff.
“Who's your new boy toy.” Mike asked and she shot him a glare.
“Don’t call him that.” She looked at Butch whose face was flat against the table. Her hand came down on his neck and he shot up. “The hells wrong with you?”
“Didn’t sleep.” He rubbed the back of his head. “No need to hit a guy you bitch.”
She only rolled her eyes and smiled.
“Aww don’t worry Lamb Chop, he’s just mad that you aren’t gonna pay attention to him.” Mitch smirked.
She leaned over and pinched his cheek. “Aww does someone want my attention.” She said mockingly in a baby voice.
Butch pushed her offer before stabbing her side with his finger. “You wish you had me toots.” He said darkly before pushing her towards the edge of the bench. She caught herself before falling.
Buttercup flicked his forehead before standing up. “I got to go but I’ll see you assholes later.” She grabbed her bag. “Also one of you smells like pine and I don’t hate it.” She said before ruffling Butch’s hair and leaving.
Butch’s mood went fell back to the scowl and he also got up. “I'm gonna go see Boomer, said he needed help with something.” He scooped up his bag before flinging it onto his shoulder. “Later.”
Mitch and Mike waved to him before Mike took the last bite of his apple. “Hey Mitch?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you smell like pine?”
“Nope.” he popped the ‘p’.
“Thought so.” --
Butch: Age 16
He was sitting on the edge of the skate rink. His feet swayed slightly until the heel of his shoes hit the pavement and bounced forward again. He thought about lighting a cigarette and clearing his mind. The pack was in his hands, his thumb toying with the flap. The rolled paper sat on his lips as he debated whether or not to light it.
“Where the fuck is she?” He grumbled to no one. It was dead quiet with no one in sight. “Probably out with the dumb ass”
The end of his cigarette sparked to life with a green flash. He tilted his head up to see Buttercup.
“Bout damn time.” He blew the smoke out. “What took you so long? Jason couldn’t keep his clammy hands away?” He snickered.
She would usually laugh at the tease but instead she was silent as she dropped her board and sat next to him.
The lighthearted mood they normally shared was off and he gave her a weird glance. “Damn Lamb Chop, you’ve been crying or some shit?” He asked as he took another drag.
“Um” Her voice sounded dry. “We-I, broke up with him.” She said slowly.
He bit his lip and nodded. At first he had nothing to say. He wasn’t good with comforting other people's feelings, especially not the green puff. They may have had their fair share of tender moments that were movie bond but this was the first time a break up was ever in place.
“Oh.” He didn’t really know what to say so he just shrugged. “I’m sorry. Was there a reason?”
She pulled her knees to her chest. Her eyes were red at the corners and she looked as if she had been crying but he didn’t say anything.
Her fingers toyed with a pebble on the ground. “He said that he didn’t like us hanging out and how close we were.”
“Thats stupid.”
“Y-yeah. It is.” She said as the breeze came and made her shiver.
He noticed this and shrugged off his jacket before placing it over her without a second thought. He had missed the way her cheeks turned pink and their way her shoulders relaxed.
“He also said that he didn’t like the way I dressed or wanted me to be more like Blossom.” She spat. He gave a low whistle. “Thats fucked up bro. I may be dumb sometimes but the last thing you wanna do is compare a girl to her sister.” He snuffed his cigarette out next to him.
Her laugh was dry as she wiped away her tears. He hated seeing her cry. She didn’t deserve to have a guy do that to her, not when it was ultimately about him. The thought of Jason yelling at her because he was jealous of Butch made his blood boil. He wanted to go and find him and maybe knock a few teeth in. Mama Bellum might let it slide since it's an act of friendship, right? Especially since that shit he had said.
“I can’t believe I went out with such a sleaze bag. When I broke up with him, he just asked if Blossom was available.”
“What did you say?”
She was silent before looking at him. “I slapped him.”
Butch leaned back and let out a loud laugh. “Lamb Chop rocking his shit? I wish I was there to see.” He laughed some more.
She toyed with the ends of the sleeves. “I felt bad but I wasn’t about to let some slug talk about my sister like that.”
“Hey don’t go calling a guy a slug.” He gestured to himself. “That's an insult to some of us.”
She nudged his shoulder and rolled her eyes. “You were made from a snail dumb ass.” She smiled. “And a dogs ass.”
“Fuck off.” He stuck his tongue out at her. “Where's all the sugar and nice shit in you?”
“No where. Not now at least.” She fell silent.
Jason didn’t deserve someone as cool and bad ass. What kind of guy would even think about ruining a person's emotions over something that petty when that said person can break their bones with a snap.
She was looking straight ahead trying to muffle her tears and quivering of the lips. His gaze went to her and his eyes traced the profile of her face. The way the tears slipped out under those dark lashes and the smallest red to her face. He didn’t even know there was a freckle beneath her right eye.
Butch continued to secretly stare at her. His mouth slightly parted as he felt his heartbeat pick up. The look of her in his hoodie made his head spin and he really enjoyed the sight.
“On the bright side, you don’t have to be stuck at prom with his lame ass.” He tried to lighten the mood.
Her eyes met his. An array of light greens and a tang of yellow swirled his iris and he couldn’t understand why he never bothered to look closer before.
“I probably would have left him before that anyways.” She whispered. Another breeze came and their shoulders touched as she leaned slightly to his warmth.
“Really?” He asked and her eyes fell to his lips then came back to his eyes.
“Yeah. I think so.” She said as she leaned closer but he gave her a small nod before looking back out towards the rink. “Should have left him sooner anyways.”
He hadn’t seen her blow up her bangs or what she whispered to herself.
“Well I wouldn’t give an ass hat like that the time of day. Fuck him. You’re Buttercup Motherfucking Utonium and you don’t need any lame guy to be by your side.”
“Yeah.” She huffed. “Fuck him.”
“Plus.” He jumped up and grabbed his board. “I'm the only guy you need to worry about.” He winked and she looked up at him with glossy eyes. “Now forget about him and let’s skate so I can see you fall on your ass.” He pushed his board down and took off smoothly before dipping into the rink.
She finished her tears and hugged the jacket before grabbing her own board and joining him.

Butch: Age 17
Butch sat there staring at his drink. The ice cubes melting at such a slow pace he wondered if time was even real. The song changed for the third time and yet he was sitting on the sidelines feeling sorry for himself for a reason that he couldn’t comprehend.
His head was a mess, his palms were sweaty and he was pretty sure that his facial expression was dull and unreadable. He had decided in that moment that prom was stupid. He saw Boomer out on the dance floor twirling Bubbles and was glad that someone was having fun at least. From a distance he could make out the hair of his brother and probably Blossom, they probably fought before deciding to dance. Stupid teenage hormones.
“Hey man.” Mitch joined him at the table, drink in hand and more hairspray than the cast of a Broadway musical.
Butch gave him a half smile. “Hey Mitch. How's it going.” He was trying to be as polite as possible but all he wanted to do now was leave this shit show of a dance.
“Fine.” He popped the tab on his soda. “How's it for you?”
The fake laugh was a give away as Butch took a sip of his drink. “Peachy.” He really wanted to leave.
Mitch stood there watching him with raised brows and his mouth tightened into a straight line. His eyes raked over the dance floor and then to the other tables. He turned back to Butch and smirked.
“What?” Butch snapped a little too hard and Mitch shrugged.
“Why don’t you just ask her to dance?” Mitch looked towards the dance floor.
“Who?” He was met with a sigh and a look that said “you're an idiot.”
“Buttercup you dumb fuck.” He rolled his eyes. “And here I thought Boomer was the dumb one.”
He looked away over the vast crowd of people. All dressed up for a dance they would forget in the next ten years or even tomorrow. “Why would I-”
His eyes landed on her and he felt his breath catch in his throat.
She sat at her own table. A light conversation going with some random girl, probably a team mate. Her fingers traced the rim of her soda, a small ring sparkling under the light. She had gone with her sisters to this damn thing and it was the first time tonight where he actually saw her.
A dark green dress that seemed a little uncomfortable to her as she picked at the skirt pooling around her heels. He had laughed at the thought of her in a dress. She had told him how stupid she was going to look and he had agreed with a lighthearted sigh.
But he was wrong.
So incredibly wrong.
“Oh for fucks sake.” He whispered under his breath and his eyes met Mitch’s. A blank stare with a sly smile as he took another sip.
“You just realized?” Mitch laughed and patted his back as he stood up to go find his own date. “I’ve been waiting for this moment ever since Jason had asked her out last year. Took you this long. Hell I’ve been waiting since we first met.”
Mike walked up to the table, his eyes looking towards Mitch before he grabbed his hand.
“Babe Butch just found out he likes Buttercup.” Mitch laughed, making his face turn red with embarrassment.
Mike looked towards Butch with wide eyes and an even wider smile. “About fucking time dude! Go get her!”
Mitch left the table and he sat there staring at his drink again. The feeling when she had told him that she was going out with Jason made his blood boil and his skin twitch and he never knew why. Or at least he pretended not to.
And then the following year when they had broken up. The tears in her eyes were genuine and even though he was comforting her, he felt fine about the relationship ending. Happy even.
But now he stared at her from across the room. The music had turned to white noise and he was focused on her only. He furrowed his eyebrows before chugging his drink, it wasn’t alcohol but it would do. He got one step in before she shifted in her seat and her eyes fell to his.
It was an electrifying feeling that jolted through his body. Her eyes didn’t leave his even as he straightened his tie and walked towards her. In those few moments he kicked himself on how he didn’t see it before. --
“You got a date?” She asked him while they were lounging at the skatepark, the rest of their friends had left for the evening. The sky had melted from blue to a candy floss pink, a light breeze in the air.
“Eh might just ask some random girl passing down the hall.” He shrugged. “Not really feeling it I guess.”
She pushed her hair back as she tilted her head towards the sky. “No ones got your eye?”
At first it didn’t make sense why she was asking. Her face had a slight red to it but he thought it was from the heat. He had brushed it off, thought nothing of it.
“Not really.” Why did he feel like he was lying?
“Maybe I’ll steal Blossom’s thunder and ask Brick.” She teased and Butch glared at her. “Stop saying my brother is hot. He’s not.” He pouted and she laughed lightly.
“But he is. I leave him to Blossom.” She winked.
He crossed his arms. “I’m way hotter than him.” She heard him mumble.
She let the topic die in the wind as they sat there in a comfortable silence. She noticed the way his flannel clung to his arms and turned her face away with a blush and a twitch of anger.
“Really not going with anyone?” She asked again and he shook his head.
“Think I might wear a dress, Bubbles will probably force me.” Buttercup sighed but in all honesty she was looking forward to these things. Once in a while she liked to get all dolled up and have a good time, sue her.
“I say show up in shorts and tell her to suck it.” He teased and she laughed but it didn’t reach her eyes.
“I’ll probably look horrible.”
“Most likely.” She hit his shoulder.
And they left it at that.
--- In the moment he spent walking up to her table he had finally come to his sense of what had made his mind crazy for the past days, months and years. It was never going from bad boy to someone who played by the rules or the wild ride of high school.
No, it was simple. She had made his heart clamp up and taken over his thoughts. Every action he did somehow was tied to her and if he had a question, she was somehow the answer. The things he did like wearing that pine cologne because she said she liked it or even wearing flannels because he saw her looking at them on her phone. All of those small details he never thought twice about lead him closer to her.
She would steal his hoodies or even run her hands through his hair even when he protested against it. He could tell her everything in his head and she would sit and listen. It all made sense now. And when they were sitting at that skate park, she wanted him to ask her and then he didn’t.
It never clicked that he liked all those things she did. Really liked it. Maybe even loved.
He always thought he was observant, you had to be with a life of crime as your past but he was inconsiderately dense when it came to the one person he didn’t realize mattered the most.
But sometimes the best things come to those who wait. Or figure their shit out. Whichever came first.
“Hey lamb chop.” He said over the music. He was thankful that the other girl she was talking to was gone now. Just them.
She looked up at him then smiled softly. “Hey.”
“You wanna, uh, dance, maybe?” He held his hand out with slight hesitation.
Buttercup looked at the outstretched hand, a small blush dusting her face and he thought she looked pure and delicate in that moment. Her fingers touched the tips of his as she stood up and glanced at the floor with a new found shyness.
“Yeah, I’d like to.”
He pulled her towards a spot away from the heavy crowd and even from their friends. He didn’t need the two lovebirds to add any comments when he was trying to keep his composure together. By the time they got to their location, the upbeat pop song had shifted into a slow song where couples across the floor were grabbing their partners closely.
He gulped and looked up at the tacky disco ball before he felt her arms slip around his shoulder and he looked at her. She offered him a smile that showed she was just as nervous and he let out a breath before relaxing and setting his hands on her hips.
It was a little weird at first. They were the two toughest people in the school and probably the city. He had seen her burp and get her hands dirty. Fall and scrape her knees and suffer punches to the gut and even blood trickling down her face.
He thought it was teenage hormones that were making him feel weird when he saw her like that. Calm, relaxed, free and even full of power and rage. He should have known that it was his heart trying to tell him that he had a fat crush on her.
But now looking at her in the dim lights, he laughed to himself.
“What’s so funny?” She asked.
He snorted. “I should have known.”
She cocked her head slightly with a questioning look. “Known what?”
“That you like me.” He stated and her eyes shot open wide like a deer in headlights.
“W-what-I” Her face had flamed up to the color of her sister’s bow and she began to panic. “I don’t-”
“And that I like you.” He said before she could pull away.
“Oh.”
He sighed. “I really should have seen it sooner. I mean come on BC, you’re a firecracker babe and my dumb ass couldn’t comprehend that all those feelings over the years were because of you? It's pretty lame.”
“It's not like I made it easy.” She whispered.
“Easy? It was crystal clear!” he laughed. “The hoodie stealing, the pine, the way you would run your fingers in my hair.”
“It's soft.” She bit her lip.
“I even started wearing flannels because of that damn ad you were looking at.”
“Is that why?” It was her turn to laugh.
“And then the skate park.”
“Oh when I tried to kiss you.”
“Ya when you tried-WAIT WHAT?” His voice boomed and some couples turned around before getting a glare from him.
That panicked look came back onto her face. “I like, leaned in and everything but you turned your head and I just accepted the fact that you didn’t like me I guess.”
“Wow I really am dumb, you should start calling me Boomer.”
“Ew no.” She shook her head. “I’d take you over anyone any day.”
Those words gave him a small tinge of pride. “You’re such a sap.” He murmured as he felt his cheeks turn pink. He held her closer before moving a strand of hair out of her face. Her eyes were bright and soft and he thought she looked beautiful.
“I think you were wrong.”
“About what?” She asked.
“The dress.” He looked down, then back to her face. “You look stunning.”
The expression on her face was of genuine bliss as she leaned forward and this time he knew what he was supposed to do. His lips touched hers and that jolt of electricity that happened all those years ago in his bedroom came back. He felt her lips turn up into a smile and knew she felt it too.
They pulled apart and just stared in silence at one another. It was like the world had faded into the background and it was just them. Dark and neon green dancing through the night.
She giggled, a wonderful sound that was rarely heard.
“What?” he asked.
“Nothing.” Buttercup ran her fingers in the back of his hair as they danced.  “I’m just glad you didn’t blow up his time.”
“Fuck me too.” His nose brushed against hers. “That just means I can kiss you more.” He said before his lips crashed to her again. It was quicker and more hasty as she melted against him. It was as if he was trying to make up for lost time, to show that he had truly cared about her deeply through the years.
There's a lot of people who probably care about you more than you think.
He thought back to when she had said that. It was a phrase that played over and over in his mind and now he knew she was talking about herself. He pulled away and she pecked him quickly again before leaning her head against his chest. She felt like she was on cloud nine and he liked his lips. She could feel the vibration of his laugh through his chest and looked up at him.
“Don’t make fun of me for being sappy or I’m going to kick your ass.” She gave him an icy glare.
“No it's not that, I think it's cute.” he kissed her forehead. “I just think Lamb Chop isn’t a good nickname anymore.”
Her eyebrows quipped up. “Really?” She was surprised because he was so determined to call her that at any given time. “What would be better?”
His lips pressed to her ear as his hand squeezed her hips lightly. “Cinnamon.”
And when he kissed her again, she then realized what flavor her lipstick was.

Butch: Age 18
“You know how you asked me about Mojo all those years ago?” He said out of the blue. Buttercup propped her head on her hand as she rolled onto her side.
“Yeah I think so.” She responded, not really understanding why he brought up the topic. Over the years the conversation had been put to a stand still and it was something he rather not talk about.
“I remember asking if anything would come out good for Mojo.”
She hummed as she wrapped her finger loosely around the string of his hoodie.
“Well the thing is, I was thinking. Maybe it wasn’t what good Mojo got from the creation, but instead the good that came out of it for me.”
“That’s a better thing to look at. A lot of stuff is good. You have a super sweet mom and you just graduated high school. Colleges want you to play for their teams and your brothers have grown closer over the years.” She said.
His lips turned to a smile as he reached out to brushed the hair kissing her face. “And you.” He chuckled as her face flamed up and she buried her face into his chest.
“Sap.” She stated, her voice slightly muffled.
“I’m just saying.” Butch ran his fingers through her hair. “I think out of all the things that could have happened, you were the best thing.”
She tilted her head slightly to meet his eyes before looking to the side. “You weren’t too bad yourself.”
“Gee thanks.” He teased as he tapped her nose. “But I am serious babe. You make me want to be a better person. Someone who is worthy enough to stand by your side.”
“I think you’re worthy.”
“I know you do.”
“And I don’t care what anyone has to say because you make me feel like no one else can.” She placed a hand on his cheek before he reached and put his own over it. “
Her eyes fell to his before he leaned and kissed her softly. It was a mystery of how he actually let himself get through high school without kissing her. It was his favorite thing to do as it provided a comfort and he really liked the taste of the chap stick she wore on the daily. Not to mention that her lips were incredibly soft anf he relished in the fact that it was something only he got to do.
“I love you.” She whispered as they pulled apart. His eyes widened slightly as if he didn’t hear those words correctly. He blinked as he stared at her and she only gave him that soft gaze he adored so much.
They were hardly any words to describe how he felt about her in that moment. “I love you too.” He said back and she looked like she was glowing.
“How much do you love me?” She winked as teased him with a feathery kiss.
“More than you could even know Cinnamon.” He finished before capturing her lips again into another passionate kiss.

I hope you all enjoyed! This was a monster to complete and really fun
