#really love this whole album but the pretty outro of this song in particular has stuck with me#kinda gives me Muse vibes - particularly something from OOS/the outro to Citizen Erased#(yes Muse have infected my musical brain so much that I'm now hearing echoes of them in French heavy metal 😅)#gojira#Spotify#gojira band

If you watched the Olympics Opening Ceremony you saw French heavy metal band Gojira preform Ça Ira, a song that was first sung during the French Revolution.
youtube
Let’s take a look at those lyrics!
Ça ira- it’s going to be ok/it’ll be fine (lit. ‘It will go’)
Les aristocrates- the aristocrats
à la lanterne- ‘to the lamp post’ (in the early days of the revolution, supporters of the revolution would extrajudicially kill their enemies by hanging them from lamp posts)
On les pendra- we’ll hang them
Réjouis-toi- (you) rejoice, be delighted
Le bon temps viendra- good times will come

The French heavy metal band Gojira having the historic Revolution of their country as theme of their performance in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics in Paris reflects the enduring relevance of Enlightenment ideals to this very day as well as the unnerving similarity between the contexts of both periods, with deep social inequities and skepticism of the promises of elites, whether aristocratic or capitalist. In this essay I will-

If you aren’t watching the olympic opening ceremony you need to right now. The heavy metal band Gojira playing while standing on the walls of the Conciergerie immediately followed up by an opera singer in a prop boat wearing a feathered hat singing Habanera from Carmen. Imagery directly evoking the execution of Marie Antionette performed in the place she was held during the revolution. Blood red streamers. A gaudily dressed throuple eyefucking in a library. The torchbearer is an individual of indeterminate gender dressed like an Assassin’s Creed character and parkouring on top of roofs like one. Direct references to Arrivée d’un train en gare de La Ciotat and Le voyage dans la lune the former of which came out of the screen and almost hit the torch bearer in a very cinematic moment. Apparently Lady Gaga and Celine Dion sang earlier. Holy shit.

And now an introduction post. Who am I and what do I do?
I'm Febris, Asteria Febris. Swaggitarius, ex-Molecular Biologist and Forensic, now full-time artist and I intend to do so. The other person is my fiancé who goes by the name of Mr. Frost. Askael Frost. Remember that name, he will the most active on social media being the attention whore that he is. But be aware, only I can love him.
Right now, I'm doing some small designs for apparel and utilities. Kinda feel empty without a big project. I'm waiting for more info from publishers and writers for few upcoming books, but besides that COMMISSIONS ARE OPEN BABY
You can just ping me and we'll negotiate the price.
What do I like? I like dark and gothic stuff. You know, like macabre. Little goats. Black dogs, black cats. Darkness. I'm vegetarian and cannot stand smell of meat. I like heavy metal, a lot. My favorite bands are: Tool, Soen, Karnivool, Gojira and Linkin Park... and my fiancés solo project...
I'm not good with people, but I will drop by here and tell you what I've been working on, show some art, show some tips and tricks around Procreate and some brushes I'm using, style and such.
Looking forward to meet you all!

Metal/punk Bands
This sounds crazy but for some strange reason, I came up with this so to speak headcanon of what metal or punk bands the Octonauts would like soooooo Barnacles definitely and I have no doubt he would like Gojira, Gorija is known for their lyrics about the environment and the preservation of species, nature and ecology, even the name of the band comes from the Japanese words gorija and kujira which translates as whale, he would definitely love it
With Kwazii I have several doubts, on the one hand I would say that he could be a fan of System Of A Down, like Gorija he has messages about nature, but at the same time they also have very political and anti-war songs, although he also has songs against the system (bruh) and about things in life, but at the same time I would say that he has some punk and perhaps some bands like The Offspring or Suicidal Tendencies or The Adolescents, also and perhaps Limp Brizkit or Korn are to his liking, in general I think that Kwazii is the most metal of the entire crew, especially of the nu metal genre.
Peso is an enigma in my head, he is obviously not someone who listens to metal or any heavy songs, but I think if there is a song he would like it would be One for the Money by Escape the Fate, his music is described as metalcore, post-hardcore, emo, and screamo, so he fits very well into our catalog of metal bands.
Dashi would be more of a pop rock band, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't like some metal bands like Baby Metal or Linkin Park, some of them easily have songs that border on pop, so she would really like it. Shellington, why lie if he is like my best friend, but going back to what I was saying, maybe he is not into listening to heavy and strong metal music, but that doesn't mean that he could enjoy SOAD, Ghost, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden, perhaps, and he might also listen to some music from the DSBM or grindcore genre or also goregrind, although that would be very rarely, something strange but I like to think that (thanks to the one I'm working on)
Tweak is noticeable that it has punk vibes, Suicidal Tendencies and The Offspring appear again here, but I would also add Nirvana since they are also a punk rock band, all three have lyrics that perhaps describe their feelings of rebellion, it is noticeable that they do not like the rules that much, but I would also add the Nintendocore genre or also known as nesscore. Nintendocore is characterized by the use of chiptunes (8-bit music) and samplers of old NES game themes, almost always combined with subgenres of Heavy metal, Hardcore punk and to a lesser extent Rock perfect for our gamer, lol. Inkling, let's go to this man of culture, play Black Sabbath with their song Paranoid, Iron Maiden with The Trooper, Megadeth with their album Rust in Peace, Judas Priest with Breaking The Law, Pantera with I'm Broken, Metallica, Slayer, just play him the classics and he will gladly tell you about each one. Tunip, play a metal cover of children's songs and it's more than cheerful ;)

KORN kicked off its summer/fall 2024 North American tour on September 12 at MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, Florida. The band's 18-song setlist, which is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of KORN's debut album, included "Oildale" mostly the band's 2010 LP "Korn III: Remember Who You Are" and "Hey Daddy", a track from KORN's 1999 album "Issues" which had only ever previously been performed almost 25 years ago.
The rock cultural icons' 25-date Live Nation-produced trek featuring special guests, Grammy-nominated band GOJIRA and Canadian heavy metal group SPIRITBOX, will wrap up in St. Paul, Minnesota at Xcel Energy Center on October 27.
When the BMO show was first announced in March, KORN singer Jonathan Davis said in a statement: "Reflecting on thirty years of KORN fills me with such immense gratitude for our journey, the growth we've experienced, and the incredible bond we share with our fans. It's humbling to see how our music has touched so many lives across the globe. From our small club beginnings to now headlining stadiums, it's been an unforgettable ride, and we owe it all to our amazing, undying, loyal community that's made it possible. I'm really looking forward to this incredible night to celebrate together."
KORN changed the world with the release of their self-titled debut album in 1994. It was a record that would pioneer a genre, and blur others-leading into a larger cultural movement. Since forming, KORN has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide, collected two Grammys, toured the world countless times, and set many records in the process that will likely never be surpassed. KORN has continued to push the limits of the rock, alternative and metal genres, while remaining a pillar of influence for legions of fans, and generations of artists around the globe.
The level of KORN's reach transcends accolades and platinum certifications. They are "a genuine movement in a way bands cannot be now," attests The Ringer. They represent a new archetype and radical innovation, their ability to transcend genre makes barriers seem irrelevant.
In a March 2024 interview with the WSOU 89.5 FM radio station, KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch spoke about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the follow-up to the band's 2022 album "Requiem". He said: "Well, I'll just say, yes, we are passionately and intensely working on new music. We're a little bit behind. We've been really digging deep into sounds and tones and miking techniques and just really focusing on every aspect of just the miking and the sonic levels of everything because… I love the last few records we've done in the last 10 years, but I think — I just have something in me that thinks we could beat the tones. I love the songs that we've done, but tone-wise I feel like we can beat it. So we're spending a lot more time on this new music, we're spending a lot more money [chuckles], and we don't have any record label involved, so it's all coming from us. And we really want to dissect our sound and remember where we came from and how we did it back then. And having a vintage KORN feel with a modern twist — sonically, I'm talking about. So it's very intense. The songs are amazing. I'm very proud of it. I feel like we are closer than we've ever been in the studio. And Jonathan [Davis, KORN singer] has been there every day."
According to Welch, he and his KORN bandmates are working on new music "off and on. We'll work for — I don't know — a couple of weeks. Then I won't see [Jonathan] for a month or two," he explained. "But it's starting to pick up now because we wanna put new music out. We're a little bit behind, but we're very proud of what we're doing. And we can't wait for people to hear it."
Regarding the musical direction of the new KORN material, Brian said: "I think it's the best and heaviest KORN stuff in years. And I think it's gonna be raw and just kind of more basic, as far as sound and recording and everything. I don't wanna give it all away, but we're just very, very pleased with where we're at right now."
Welch — who rejoined KORN more than a decade ago, eight years after leaving the band and at the same time announcing that he kicked his addictions to drugs and alcohol by becoming a born-again Christian — also clarified that he and the rest of KORN "haven't started recording" the band's next album "yet, but we're very passionately heading toward that direction. And we can't wait for everybody to hear it."
KORN bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu announced in June 2021 that he would sit out the band's tour in order to "heal" after "falling back" on some of his "bad habits." He has since been replaced on the road by SUICIDAL TENDENCIES bassist Roberto "Ra" Díaz.
Released in February 2022, "Requiem", which was produced by Chris Collier and KORN, entered Billboard's Hard Rock Albums chart at No. 1. The band sold 23,000 equivalent album units in the February 4-10, 2022 tracking week, according to Billboard. Of that sum, 20,000 units were from album sales. "Requiem" also landed at No. 2 on the Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts. On the all-format Billboard 200, it arrived at No. 14.
Despite the fact that he hasn't performed with his KORN bandmates for more than three years, Fieldy did play on "Requiem".

In my head he'd like soad, not his favorite band, but just one he enjoys because they're silly but their songs are still meaningful
also, gojira i think he'd like
Oh! I have to admit that I'm not into heavy metal enough to know who those bands are, but now I'm definitely going to check them out!
I just really like the idea that Barbatos lets out some of that stress you know he keeps locked away all day every day by listening to heavy metal. Everything else he does is so chill, he needs something a little more intense lol!
#I'm gonna listen to these but I trust your judgement on it anon#obey me barbatos#anon asks#misc answers
