OH MY GOD YOUR THOUGHTS GAVE ME SO MUCH THOUGHT FOOD TO CHEW ON ..... this is amazing
the stickmen being worms ........ yeag. this is just them
but it does make me wonder what exactly would be the breaking point for an antivirus to step in. chosen basically ravaged the whole pc so with the whole worm thing it isnt surprising for him to be noticed but when exactly would a program notice that. man. this symbol right 'ere is foreeeignn
a side dish for thoughts: large spiders were observed to eat worms in nature. wuhahahuwveve evevegw. the symbolism will go crayzayzay
I LOVE INTERNET AND DIGITAL HISTORY. the first virus and antivirus???? oh my god. AND THE HISTORY BEHIND THEM?????? OH MY GOD. my chosen & dark duo soul will enjoy dissecting this frame by frame ...
love these silly internet and digital stories its actually crazy that i didnt know given how much i read on it. op pls share more. also love how you referred to it as an autoimmune disease lmaooo
THE OUTERNET!!!!!!
i love the addition of branches of cables stemming from the internet because. god yeah. exactly. all of it makes up the in n' out
and then the portals.
back when showdown premiered ive interpreted the portals as just teleportation. but given the fact they physically travel thru these portals, the fact that they lead through something does make me think how do they connect to the internet
(again. my huge amount of coins on how i just love the way digital world is converted to a 3d one in ava. my beloved concept and probably one of the biggest reasons i adore the series so much)
after dark n cho travel through these portals they just end up on the flat sites surfaces. we didn't see an observable point of how they get there from the outernet because the shots just changed quickly from the portal travel –> the internet
the first theory* that www adresses are under the outernet is something i didnt really think about before ... but assuming that these adresses are the same ones pc users use i think that the second theory** is actually the case. im drawing a complex map of it in my mind ill actually sketch it hold on
HONESTLY now that i drew it it DOES click more in my mind right now. for dark the programmista having a constantly accessible travel to the internet without having to go through pc's of users (and god forbid the pc of their torturer) and without having to deal with a possible threat of being detected making completely independent portals that link the 3d space of the outernet with the internet is a great solution. yet i think how does it manifest itself in the outernet if it does go to the same locations the pc users are in? it goes through the cliff ground under darks shack and then ... uh. huh.
going back to the theory of the adresses located under the outernet... would it mean that the pc users travel through the outernet, to something undernearth it? and the outernet is an in-between of the pc and the internet?
man the last assumption does. feel slightly possible
but then theres still a question how does a travel of pc users to a space beneath the outernet manifests itself as well. in general do any of these possible portals show themselves in the sky of the outernet or do they behave like regular portals with an just an invisible link connecting them . . .
thoughtline C. ohhhhh my go.
i can find it completely possible. and that our chosen rejected and fulfilled their destiny ... op im breaking down on my knees right now
based on the previous post about tdls arc i rb'd and filled with my ramblings and ascii art i also just rb'd im going to continue my ramblings about the rules of code in ava
(with doodles!)
okay so. all we know right now is that all sticks to begin with have a script. and that it starts with their name and influences their destiny?/powers. its obviously notable with the hollowheads and also but im rambling on other sticks as well
i have lots of questions about how much code and programs work in the universe and influences everyone. the first obvious question is the coding of tdl with their command of destroying chosen. i adore the interpretation of it still affecting them in some way in the fandom !!!! however in canon it isnt elaborated upon. which begs the question of did it affect them? if it did, just how much did it affect them?? was any of this code left in their programming?? if it did affect them, how did they manage it??? have they tried to mess with their programming?? honestly, how did they start programming in the first place???? since they came directly from the pc, interacted with programs and the fact that code wouldve been useful in their terrors its not surprising for them at all to code by themselves, but no other hollowheads were shown to master it to a point of creating something — could it been the consequence of trying to remove their command? another question, if it was still somehow left in them, how did it affect them during showdown?
one of the interpretations of it that it's been "dormant" and that their need of destroying had shown itself in their seven year long reign of terror and why it was SO hard for them to back off. and that the showdown eventually made both dark and chosen to go "back to their roots". but since the command was targeted on chosen specifically i believe that if thats were the case the need to destroy wouldve been expressed to him and not to the whole web (god all this stuff opens so many ideas for them)
my second big wonder that i have is about the creation of chosen himself. as i mentioned in my rb all hollowheads attacked only when they felt threatened or had a command ingrained into them like with dark. except chosen
he attacked the second that he was born without being threatened. just by getting his name. (its also interesting to note the names noogai considered before bringing him to life – again victim, killer and BEAST. did any of that influence chosen too?). in the instant messenger conversation programmer021 mentioned stickmen having levels which i believe is most widely interpreted in a non literal sense, just in the "how powerful is he" way. but if it is used in a somewhat literal sense? it opens a big conception of leveling??? and that being the "chosen one" is, supposedly, one of the highest levels possible for a stickman to have. and the fact that making him the chosen one was called a suicide???? god
it isnt really known from the series alone how much being the chosen one influences a stickman or a creation in general besides having very high levels of power. at the same time, having powers isnt an instant call to attack — unless there are in-universe rules that suppose that being the chosen one immediately means destruction being ingrained into a sticks code. but if thats the case... how much would it influence chosen as well?? wouldnt he have an innate, coded need of destruction too? and if its like this, how would he come back down from it? and if it goes in hand with tdls command too, why it was easier for him to denounce destruction than to tdl? does being the chosen one imply a variety of abilities, with destruction being part of it, but not it being the part that is impossible to suppress?
along with the "literal levels" idea, where would the second coming and the dark lord come in the "hierarchy"? and with the idea that being "the chosen one" initially supposes destruction, did the dark lord, given their name, have any initial code of destruction prior until the go and kill chosen command? why instead of attacking noogai as well they stretched at first instead, until they got their command?
these thoughts bring me to the idea of how exactly adobeflash brings a stick to life, to have a code of their own that influences them and ill probably have to dig information on the program itself and its coding language to know more about its functions. if bringing a stick to life, giving them powers is a function of animated programs in the universe, what else can a program do with them? how does adobeflash makes its creations interact with other applications? how could a creator get rid of a sticks life except for the supposed "dont save the changes" button? man. the whole idea of ava having interactable, 3d and alive internet, animations and creations in general, the existence of outernet as a whole makes me really happy since i just adore internet and digital concepts. i love exploring ava rules !!!
now getting to the second coming. to begin with, how was the program aware of who they were a second coming of in the first place to give them powers? the question feels answearable, but at the same time, second wasnt aware of their powers up until literally the last episode of ava. theres a lot to be thought about their awakening too
if most applications, art and creations has their own consciousnesses [desktop applications, youtube, browser stuff and etc], then how did specifically the last frame of second's animation come to life? could any previous frames of that animation be alive as well? and if they could be, would second's "clones" have the same powers and the same name?
in general, sticks are perceived as a separate entity in ava, but i do wonder if that could be the case, based on the fact that victims clones were able to be created and used after lol. even with vics clones, even with the idea that they're temporary, do they share the same memories with victim? given that victims life was "unsaved" along with their clones, were they able to "uncopy" themselves, or did they continue to just exist? are the clones that agent deployed in the box the same clones or new ones, just made with the amount that what victim is personally used to/the amount of weapons that victim is used to? if they are the same ones and were somehow able to "get back" into victim, do they continue sharing the same memories with them?
talking about other sticks i also have questions about their code. color gang for example
so far we had only seen the creation of hollowhead sticks by noogai and we dont even know about how other types of sticks came to life, not even mentioning the process of it, their code and their possible "program of birth". we do know that other alive sticks, and other HOLLOWHEADS, created by users exist given the stick rights banner in ava 3, yet it is the only clue of stickmen like noogais hollowheads existing. and we know that nonhollowheads are considered "naturally created" sticks both in internet and outernet, and that they're naturally weaker than "artificial" hollowheads are and that, supposedly, they reproduce by themselves. but how did they come to exist in the first place? do the rules of the universe imply them just coming into life by themselves, with the outernets existence? we do know, again, that users, other computers and programs exist in the universe and that some sticks are created by other artists, but were any of non-hollowheads like the colorgang, mercs, king, purple, gold, navy&orchid, everyone in the cities we have seen created by someone else as well? and why noogais stickmen are more special than others? are there stickmen stronger than noogais hollowheads? ... how would you tell two solid-headed sticks apart if, say, some artist created a copy of a "naturally" made stick?
if non-hollowheads stickmen are created too, are they in touch with their creators? besides the enslavement fact-freedom guy stick banner, do creators tend to torture or befriend their sticks, creations in general? are there stereotypes about sticks and their creators? is it more or less acceptable in stick society to be in touch with your creator? are other creators, besides noogai, aware of the outernet?
... where would the creators of the color gang, mercs, king and purple & co be?
talking about the "natural" and the reproduction part, i do wonder, if, in case of non-hollowheads also being created by other people and animators, purple and gold came to life as a will of creators or as a will of the sticks themselves. we have only seen symbolic depiction of purple coming to life in their song, and i feel like it can be a depiction of a stickman drawn for two other stickmen (with the existing code of them being their child) or a proof of actual, natural reproduction. if child sticks were drawn for the parent sticks, were they drawn by their creator or by the parents themselves?
talking about creation again, i do wonder why king was called "king" in the minecraft code, given that he had a life prior to becoming one. was it a player name inside minecraft that he has given to himself, or a name that he had outside minecraft as well? if its the second, why was he called king before? did he do anything king role related prior minecraft? and if it is not his real name, what IS his real name? and did he end up changing it back?
in general, talking about my favourite alive internet concepts, how did outernet appear? did it come into existence along with the internet? is outernet an extension of internet, and does it serve as a sort of a "backstage" for what is happening in the internet sites?
in my personal interpretation, i feel like outernet IS and extension of internet, and it develops with it — that, if you needed to describe it, the internet is the flat front of a regular box, while the outernet is the 3d space inside the box.
goooddd i think im done with my questions and ramble. my beckerverse brainrot consumes all. this is so long omg
if you read till the end...... have an aurora borealis duo doodle !!!! thank yew
#alan becker#animator vs animation#this is so much to dissect ......#THE USERS TAG: THE VIC CLONES THING YES. are they a hivemind or could they develop their own personality#avam fandom theorists definitely do have a hivemind though LMAO#going back to the pcs and the ip sky#its. interesting. that only alanspc box is seen to be broken through#have no other sticks travelled from the ip sky to the outernet?#it slightly backs up the theory of outernet existing naturally and sticks there spawning naturally as well#even then. sticks still have access to the internet. the stickpage itself was 2d with an internet surface#which means that there are places that allow outernet and internet to connect that arent darks portals or the ips#and if the sticks that we've seen in the tco&tdl seven year long terror bit were just created and came from the internet#and dont have a link to the outernet#then the theory that created sticks are more powerful than “natural” ones doesnt fully work#because if everything that noogai needed was to call a stick the dark lord for them to be powerful#and yet not immediately have it destroy the pc#wouldnt there be countless of dark lords as well?

I now present: Chapter 2 of Day One!
I think that might be the fastest I've ever finished a thing? Idk, but I'm pretty proud of myself
They flew for hours. And it was awesome.
They raced each other in straight lines for miles, before circling back to play-fight in the sky over the bay. They plunged into the water dozens of times, and each time Chosen had to remind himself that he still had to breathe– he could have stayed under there, in the peaceful darkness, forever.
They flew until their fire sputtered, and then they crashed on a cliff overlooking the water right as the sun went down.
Chosen could only stare. Or, stare as well as he could considering how bright the sun was. How unfair.
The sky was painted pink and orange and purple, streaks of clouds overhead casting strange shadows. It was beautiful.
Chosen looked at his companion. Dark had also been in awe at the sunset, but after a little while had started to absently pull up grass from the ground flowers too– and burn them in his hands.
Chosen whacked him lightly on the arm. “Hey.”
Dark startled. The ash blew away in the wind, and he winced. “Whoops. Sorry.”
It was… quiet. But not silent. The wind rustled the grass and the leaves on the trees, the waves below them crashed against the rocks.
Quiet, but not silent. Peaceful.
On the PC it had been so quiet. The virus chest was a void; nothing to see, hear, or touch. Only him. Even when he was allowed out on the desktop there wasn’t much sound. Only the clicks and scrolls of the cursor, the occasional pop-up that he’d have to burn away.
This was nice.
The sky had turned blue-black. Up against it was a grid layer of what must have been IP addresses, glowing softly. But among them, glowing just a bit brighter, was a blanket of stars.
Chosen felt himself smile, and when he looked at Dark he saw that Dark’s eyes had widened, drinking it all in.
When he spoke it was quiet. “What are they?”
“The glowy dots?”
“…yeah.”
Chosen grinned. “Stars.”
“Stars,” Dark repeated. “They’re beautiful.”
Chosen laid down on his back. The grass had cooled. “Do you know what constellations are?”
Dark laid down beside him. “No?”
Chosen held up his hands, trying to outline his explanation in the air. “It’s like if you took a group of stars, and used them as points to draw a picture.” He waved a hand over their heads. “I don’t know any of the ones here…”
Dark hummed. After a moment of silence, he spoke again. Even quieter.
“Thanks.”
Chosen turned his head. Dark was decidedly not looking at him, instead fixing his gaze on the stars overhead. “For…?”
Dark sighed softly. “For getting me out. Of there.” He gestured up to the IP grid.
A million responses ran through Chosen’s head.
You’re welcome.
Of course.
Thank you for coming with me.
But none of them felt right. So he simply reached over and gently took Dark’s hand in his. The same hand Dark had reached back to him with. They were both free.
Dark startled, before relaxing. He squeezed Chosen’s hand. Thank you.
Chosen decided right then and there that Noogai was never going to touch either them ever again. He’d make sure.
They laid there together, under the blanket of stars, until they both fell asleep.

Mass Effect development insights and highlights from Bioware: Stories and Secrets from 25 Years of Game Development
This is the Mass Effect version of this post.
[In case you can’t read it the subtitle in the bottom left logo above is “Guardians of the Citadel”]
Note: Drug use is mentioned.
Cut for length.
Mass Effect 1
ME began its life in a vision document in fall 2003
Codenamed “SFX”
Conceived of by Casey Hudson and a core team from KotOR. Its genesis was the intention to create an epic sci-fi RPG in an original setting that BioWare owned (so they could have full creative control), and in a setting that was conceived of first and foremost as a video game
Initially players could control any squadmate, but they wanted it to be about Shep and for players to be focused on Shep being a battlefield commander, rather than on switching bodies
By the start of 2004 its story was shaping up. Initially humans landed on Mars in 2250 and discovered evidence of an ancient alien race and a powerful substance, Black Sand, which rapidly advanced tech to the point that FTL travel was possible. (My note: obviously now the Prothean artifacts on Mars & associated mass effect force tech enabled this in the final canon, but I wonder if aspects of the ‘Black Sand’ naming-type & powerful substance stuff was rolled into red sand from final canon) Humans were suddenly capable of travel to multiple star systems and made contact with a multitude of other species. At the start of the first game, these species together with humans had a fragile peace, with focus placed on the political center of the galaxy, a hub known as Star City, later renamed the Citadel
Multiplayer was a vision for the series as far back as 2003. The plan was for ME1, an Xbox exclusive at launch, to take advantage of the platform’s online components. Early designs saw players meeting in one of the central hubs to interact and trade items in their otherwise SP adventures
By 2006 it had the name ME and the story was more specific, with the theme of conflict between organic and synthetic lifeforms. The story’s scope now stretched across 3 games and included scope for full co-op MP
They tried to do MP in every game, discussing it from the get-go, but it always just fell by the wayside. “When you’re trying to build something that is a new IP, on a new platform, with a new engine, you’ve got to really focus on the core elements of the game.”
The conversation system prototype was made in Jade Empire, and some of ME’s earliest writing was done in an old JE build. At first there was no conversation wheel. Paragon was “Friendly” and Renegade “Hostile”. In the prototype Shep was a silent unnamed Spectre. Many conversations in the prototype about the player’s choice in smuggling a weapon through Noveria made it into the game
In said prototype a merchant referred to themselves as “this one”, though the word hanar never appeared. The PC in it also had the option to end a conversation with “I should go”. In the prototype also, Harkin was voiced by Mark Meer
An early version of the Mako got used as the krogan truck in ME2
Early concepts of the Citadel were drawn in pencil by CH. A piece of concept art of its final design was painted based on a photo of a sculpture near Aswan, Egypt
As with any new IP naming it was a struggle. They put out a call to all staff for ideas, did polls, made a name generator that combined words that they liked in random ways and made pretend logos of ones they liked in Photoshop to see if they could make themselves love the name or find visual potential in it. (Some of these names are in the pic at the top of this post.) CH liked “Unearthed” as it was a reference to Prothean ruins dug up on Mars and humanity’s ascendance going away from Earth. They knew the game would have a central space station featuring prominently so some of the ideas were based on that - “The Citadel”, “The Optigon”, “The Oculon”. “Element” was another one they had in mind due to the rare substance in the game
CH: “I was a big fan of John Harris’ book Mass, which had epic-scaled sci-fi ideas, so that was a word that came up often. Many of the names came from the idea that the IP featured a fifth fundamental physical force (in addition to the known four of gravitational, electromagnetic, strong nuclear and weak nuclear) so the word ‘effect’ came up pretty often.” Ultimately none of the ideas really felt right. One Monday morning they were going over the names and Greg Zeschuk said he had an idea on the weekend: “Mass Effect!” CH: “I said, ‘I don’t hate it’, which in the naming process is a high compliment. And it stuck!”
CH on Shep’s Prothean vision from the beacon: “It was hard to imagine how we would do this. CG was - and is - really expensive. Instead I wanted to try doing it through photography and video editing. So I went to a local grocery store and bought a few packages of the weirdest looking meat that I could find. Then I set up a little photoshoot in my basement, complete with some electronics parts and some red wine for juicyness.” He used these props to create a video sequence where the photos were rapidly cycled and blurred, along with production paintings, to create the scary vision an organic/machine experiment on the Protheans. These mashups were also used as inspiration for concept artists and level designers who were working on these themes
Tali used to be called Talsi
On the licensing side they often joke that they’re licensing N7 not “Mass Effect” due to N7s popularity
There was a confidential internal guide to the IP in 2007 to help devs along and summarize/synthesize the vision etc. Some excerpts from it are shown in the book and this is the first time the public have ever seen them
Early versions of Asari had hair
Asari were designed as a nod to classic TV sci-fi (with human actors wearing obvious makeup and prosthetics to play aliens)
The turian design guideline was “we want them to be birds of prey”. They also wanted a range of alien types, some close to human like Asari, while others were to be a lot further away, like turians
BioWare patented the conversation wheel, which was a first for them. CH had been frustrated with reviews of Jade Empire that said that the actioncentric game was too wordy [with its list dialogue]. “I’m like, story is words. [...] What is it about our games that is making people feel like they’re wordy?” Then he thought “In a game you kind of need to feel like you’re continuing to play it. Maybe you should continue feeling like you’re playing it actively into the dialogue.” “[The wheel] kind of gave a new experience with dialogue when you did start to react based on emotion, and that’s ultimately what we’re trying to bring out in our games”
The original krogan concept was based on a bat “with a really wide squidgy face. We just used its face on top of this weird body and it kinda worked”
Geth musculature was based on fiber-optic cables, with flexible plates of armor attached
The vision for the IP was 80s sci-fi inspired space opera
The concept art of Saren lifting Shep by the throat inspired a similar scene in-game. The staging wasn’t planned til designers saw that art
A squadmate with Shepard on the way to meet Ash in an old storyboard was called Carter. Early name of Kaidan or Jenkins?
Bono from U2 was kinda instrumental in bringing us ME lol
Finding the right cover art for ME1 was notably tricky
Matt Rhodes got his start drawing helmets for ME1, including one which would become Shep’s “second face”. He estimates he drew between 250-270 different ones
Some of the sounds in-game were people smashing watermelons with sledgehammers and sticking fists into various goos
The audio team had fun trying to slip the iconic main theme into unexpected places throughout the MET. “We were very aware of how powerful that track was for the fans and it was tempting to overuse it for any moment we wanted to make really emotional”.
The theme was creatively repurposed in ME3: slowed down and reworked as the ambient sound for the SR-2. “If you listen to it for a really long time, just stand in the Normandy and listen, you’ll actually hear the notes change slowly. It doesn’t sound like music, it sounds like a background ambiance, but it’s there.” (My note: Well no wonder the Normandy feels so much like home?? 😭 sneaky..)
Bug report: “Mako Tornado”. There wasn’t enough friction between the tires and the ground, causing testers to lose control of the vehicle and send it spinning into the air like a tornado. “As it turns, the front end comes up, and then it starts spinning and spinning and spinning and spinning faster and faster and faster until it just flies up in the sky” (My note: Sounds like a regular day in the Mako to me)
Cerberus originally had a bigger role in this game. It was cut but they had a whole explorable outpost. “I called it Misery,” says Mac Walters, “It was this planet with a little outpost that said ‘Welcome to Misery’”. Everything on the outpost was shit - dirty worn stuff, no windows, no kitchen, the vehicle bay was open to the elements etc
The Reaper sound is literal garbage. Some audio designers went on a recording trip to a national park. One of them got fixated on a garbage can, “a metal bear-proof receptacle with a heavy lid that creaked horribly when opened”. “It was like, ominous, spooky, tonal and almost musical. I decided to throw a mic into the garbage and record it moving. I didn’t know what it was going to be until later”
They were making lots of noises to record like throwing logs and rocks around. An old couple peered at them through the window of their camper van in the woods and must have called the cops because then the cops showed up, pulled them over and told them to stop. The cops towed their car (the driver’s plates were Cali plates and expired), drove them to Edmonton outskirts and then the audio producer Shauna got a call and had to go pick them up “like three little boys”. “We got a stern talking to”. Once back they were playing around with the garbage sound, editing it etc. Casey heard it and proclaimed “That’s the sound of the Reapers”
Preston Watamaniuk: “There are things I could have done to Mass 1 to make it an infinitely better game with better UIs” and some simple cuts and changes. “But when you’re living with it, it’s very hard to see those things”
BioWare Labs
As social media and smartphone games exploded, BioWare dedicated a small team dedicated to exploring opportunities here - BioWare Labs
Mass Effect: Galaxy used a unique graphic art style and static visual presentation common in visual novels. It has the distinction of being the only iOS game BW have made during their first 25 years
Scrapped ideas were a 3rd person space shooter called Mass Effect: Corsair and 2 DA titles - a strategy game and a top-down dungeon crawler starring young Wynne. (My note: Maybe the corsairs stuff was rolled into Jacob’s backstory in 2, the Alliance Corsairs)
Corsair was a very short-lived project that never got its feet under it. It was a spin-off on Nintendo DS featuring a behind-the-ship perspective and branching dialogue. At one point it had MP. The idea behind it was basically “ME: Freelancer” - fly your ship around, do missions, get credits. It had a limited branching story but was a gameplay-centered experience intended to fill the gap between ME1 and 2. That gap ended up being filled by Galaxy
Galaxy and Corsair’s smaller screen allowed concept artists to use bold colors and a simplistic character design style to help those games stand out from Shep’s story
Nick Thornborrow did some art for Corsair but was worried his art style didn’t fit ME. He moved to DA where he feels his art style fits better
Lots of BioWare VAs and even a lead writer and the VO director are drawn from Edmonton’s local community theater scene, which is vibrant. Think this is how Mark Meer got involved
Mass Effect 2
Player choices carrying over was a first for BW
Dirty Dozen-inspired plot
Its plot is a web of conditionals (see Suicide Mission)
Was more of a shooter than anything BW had made since Shattered Steel
There was 2 camps on the team, those who wanted to push combat and systems forward and redefine the ME experience and those who wanted to make a true sequel, with the same gameplay and systems but a new story. Karin Weekes: “I think it ended up being a good push-pull. It felt like a pretty healthy creative conflict”
“ME2 was a game you could hold up to someone who argues that games aren’t a serious medium and go ‘Oh yeah, then why is Martin Sheen in this?’” Sheen was their first pick for TIM
The idea for TIM came from a mash-up of concepts CH had collected over the years. The name “Illusive” originally came from his pitch for naming DAO’s Eclipse engine, a word inspired by Obi-Wan’s line “It’s not about the mission, Master. It’s something... elsewhere. Elusive”. “I thought, what if we called our next engine 'Elusive', but used an ‘I’, and then it’s like ‘Illusion’. [...] I still really like the word with an ‘I’ and what it conjures”
When ME1 DLC was in production, CH had been watching a lot of CNN, specifically Anderson Cooper. “How is one guy travelling to all these places and never looking tired and always being able to speak with clarity?” CH says it seemed almost superhuman. “What if there was someone who is the absolute maximum of the things you would aspire to be, but also the worst of humanity?” Cooper, though not evil, became an inspiration for TIM down to the gray hair and piercing blue eyes
Inspiration for TIM’s behind-the-scenes role pulling political strings came from Jack Bauer’s brother Graem in 24. Graem “can call up the president and tell him what to do and hang up, because he’s so connected and so influential”. Sheen had played a president and his performance brought gravitas and wisdom to the role. He had quit smoking, but the character smokes. He didn’t want to fake it, but he also didn’t want to smoke, “so he actually asked for a cigarette” to hold so he could stop his words to take drags with natural cadence
Writing was still pushing to write and revise lines hours before VO started. A series of problems like injury and some writers leaving for other opportunities left it so that Karin, Lukas Kristjanson and editor Cookie Everman hand to land the story safely, with PW helping where they could. Lukas: “We took over the writing bug and task list, and I can’t stress enough how much [Karin and Cookie] did to get ME2 out the door. There’s no part of that thing we didn’t touch”. Karin: “That was the most dramatic 2 weeks of my life”
Initial fan reaction when they started promo-ing ME2 was very negative because people didn’t want to know about new chars like Jack and Mordin. “[fans were like] ‘Get them out of here. We want our characters from the first game’. But then when they played them, those became some of the most popular chars [of the series]”
Concept art of Thane has an idea annotation saying “Face can shapeshift?”
At one point when designing Thane concept artists sent multiple variations of him to the team asking them to vote on which was the most attractive
Most of the Normandy crew was written by lead level designer Dusty Everman. Lukas gave him advice in the evenings between bugs
BioWare Montreal made ME2 and 3 cinematics
CC for Shep was based on tools used by char designers to create in-game chars. Under the hood similar tools existed to create aliens
Aliens were much easier to animate than humans. When something is human it’s very difficult to make it look realistic and you can see all the mistakes and everything
Over the holiday period in 2007 CH worked out a diagram on a single piece of paper that would define the entire scope and structure of the game. The diagram is included in the book
Bug report: “I shot a krogan so hard that his textures fell off”. At one point shotgun blast damage was applied to each of the pellets fired, and shot enemies ended up with just the default checkerboard Unreal texture on them after their textures got blown off
Blasto was meant to be 1 step above an Easter egg but his fan popularity prompted them to bring him back in ME3
They rewrote chunks of Jack 2 days before she went to VO. She was the only one they could change because all the other NPCs were recorded. They redesigned her mission by juggling locked NPC lines and changing Shep’s reactions by rewriting text paraphrases to change the context of the already-recorded VO
Lukas snuck obscure nods ito ME2′s distress calls. In the general distress call for the Hugo Gernsback, there’s BW’s initial’s and Edmonton’s phone number backwards. In a fault in a beacon protocol there’s the initials and backward phone number from Tommy Tutone’s “Jenny”. In 2 other general distress calls there’s initials and numbers from Glenn Miller Orchestra’s “Pennsylvania 6-5000″ and initials and numbers from Geddy Lee and Rush’s “2112″ respectively
Mass Effect 3
“The end of an era marks the beginning of another”
ME3 “marked the end of Shep’s story”
Saying bye to Shep was as difficult for devs as it was for players
JHale’s final VO session included Anderson’s death and romanced Garrus’ goodbye. “We were in the session and we both just started crying”, Caroline says. “I couldn’t come on the line to give her notes because I was crying, and she was crying. And so there was just this minute-long pause of like, nothing, nothing, nothing - just silence through the airwaves. And then I came on and just told her that I was crying and she said ‘I’m crying!’” They talked about these anecdotes also here on the N7 Day reunion panel
The Microsoft Kinect voice support required devs to teach Kinect hundreds of commands in a variety of accents across multiple languages. The result was useful but made for some awkward moments. Numerous players accidentally said “geth” or “quarian” while making a particular decision and accidentally killed Tali
MP chars were voiced by cops and military people
The helmet on one of the MP chars was originally designed for cancelled project Revolver
The payload device at the end needed to attach to the Citadel while essentially serving as a giant trigger. “It ended up becoming quite the engineering feet just to visualize how this thing would move and connect to the Citadel”
Concept artists explored creating an anti-team, where Kai Leng was almost an anti-Shepard essentially, with an elite squad to counteract your team. This idea never went beyond concept phase
ME3 Special Edition was released on Nintendo Wii U exclusively. This exclusive version of the game includes Genesis 2 (a sequel to the original Genesis comic) and unique gameplay features that took advantage of the touchscreen GamePad. For years Sonic Chronicles: Dark Brotherhood had had the honor of being BW’s only game made for a Nintendo console
FemShep regrettably didn’t feature in major ME marketing til ME3. Later releases like DAI, MEA and Anthem have taken increasing care not to gender their protagonists in cover art
To capture combat sounds they took a trip to CFB Wainwright, a military base southeast of Edmonton. They got a big tour of it and were allowed to record anything they could find. The tour ended with them getting to drive and shoot tanks (real shells). The force of doing that sent waves through Joel Green, he felt his whole chest compress when it went off; the perfect sound for the Black Widow! After the trip the soldiers let him keep the shell he fired and it’s been passed on like a torch to various devs since
Kakliosaurs began life as a joke in the writers’ room after John Dombrow placed a Grunt figure on a t-rex toy he had on his desk. Lore was brainstormed to justify the mash-up before someone asked, “Why don’t we put this in the game?” They loved it so much Karin had custom coffee mugs made
Bug report: For a while Tali’s final romance scene would fire when she was supposed to be dead
“Balancing combat: how designers in ME3 entered an ‘arms race’” - the solution to players feeling OP vs players feeling frustrated by really strong enemies is to find a good middle ground, but for designers Corey Gaspur and Brenon Holmes, it was war. Brenon designed enemies, Corey designed guns. Corey “was obsessed with bigger, heavier guns. We had this sort of informal competition where he’d make this crazy overturned gun that would just murder all the enemies, and then I tuned some stuff up to compensate”
Brenon had to invent new ways to “stop Corey” and this led to the Phantoms. Corey had in turn designed consumable rockets that could wipe out entire waves of enemies. He must’ve figured this would make short work of Brenon’s space ninjas, but Brenon had other plans: “I had just added the ability for her to cut rockets [when Corey was playing MP and he was watching]. She cut the rocket in half... Corey just turns and looks at me and is like: ‘Really dude? I just shot a rocket at this Phantom and she’s fine? Not even damaged? Zero damage?’”
This friendly rivalry helped elevate ME3′s gameplay. Corey had a knack for making a gun feel so good to fire it had his fellow designers scrambling to keep up. It was his version of balancing. Before Corey sadly passed away he mentored Boldwin Li in all things weapon design and the arms race continued
Corey designed the Arc Pistol. It was causing problems for enemies because it was too powerful. It seemed hell bent on staying that way, Boldwin would tune down all its stats and it was still doing 3x the damage it should have been doing. “I was like ‘What the hell?’, and then I looked closer. It secretly fired 3 bullets for every pull of the trigger! Corey, you sneaky jerk”
The day it launched there were midnight launch parties across North America including one near the BW building. Numerous devs sat at long tables greeting fans and signing autographs as the fans picked up preorders. When midnight struck the line was long enough that it took several hours for some fans to get their game. One particular fan is remembered: “It was 3am. Some guy drove up from Calgary with his friends. He was like one of the last people in line. I think he was sort of tired-drunk. He threw himself across the tables, pulled up his shirt and shouted ‘Guys, sign my abs!’ And like I did, because he waited so long. It felt impolite not to. So I hope he enjoyed his copy of ME3″
For designing Protheans concept artists had free reign to design something that read as ancient
Before the concept art team had the story of the game to work toward, they explored wild ideas of their own including an image of the crew stealing back the Normandy to go after the Reapers
Jen Cheverie was testing scenes and was initially excited to be testing Mordin scenes, til she saw she was testing the Renegade version of his death. “This is even before like all of the audio and everything was in, so you didn’t even have the sad music. I remember sitting at my desk and my hands just went to my face when I saw that the gun Shep pulls on Mordin is the gun he gives Shep in ME2. I burst into tears and was crying for the rest of the day. People are waving to me as they walk by and I’m like, ‘It’s ok, I’m just killing my best friend’”
There’s a segment called “Shepard’s story ends”. Casey on the ending: “There’s a whole bunch of things that come together to make it incredibly tense and emotional for players. I think the biggest one was the sense of finality, that whatever it was that happened in that very last moment... was it.”
Wrapping up the story was a massive feat. In a way all of ME3 is an ending. Its final moments were the players’ last with a char they’d been with all the way from Eden Prime
“And while the critical reception of the game was extremely positive, many fans were unsatisfied with the ending, which became one of the most controversial in the history of games.” CH: “We were, on one hand, at the end of a marathon trying to finish the game and the series. But as devs we also knew that there would be more. We knew that we would continue to tell the story. In retrospect, we didn’t fully appreciate the tremendous sense of finality that it would have for people”. He envisioned an ending that posed new questions, something in the tradition of high sci-fi that left players dreaming about what that particular galaxy’s future could hold. “Frankly, there’s a lot more that we could have and should have done to honor the work players put in, to give them a stronger sense of reward and closure”
AAA games are massive undertakings with a million moving parts. Somehow they come together but even the best-planned projects don’t turn out quite like devs hope. From start to end video game production is a series of compromises. It’s rare if not impossible for devs to ship a game they’re entirely happy with. “I think that people imagine that when you finish a game, it’s exactly the way you wanted it to be. But whether people end up loving or hating the final result, we work hard to finish it the best we can, knowing that there’s a lot we would have wanted to do better. I think that’s true of any creative work”
As the dust settled after the initial reaction to the ending and later its epilogue, meant to show the wide-reaching ripple effects of Shep’s final choice, “players emerged mostly asking for one thing”. CH: “Now, most of what we hear, after both ME3 and MEA, is ‘Hey, just go make more Mass Effect’. And that to me is the most important thing. Knowing that players want to return to the ME universe is what inspires us to press on and imagine what comes next”
Mass Effect: Andromeda
By creating a new ME in a new galaxy the team was challenged to put their own visual stamp on the game while keeping it true to the franchise
Being the first ME game on a new gen of consoles meant for more detail
“Massive transport ships called arks populated with salarians, turians, humans, asari and quarians” made the risky jump to the Cluster
MEA was the first time BW had truly codeveloped across 3 studios: Edmonton, Montreal and Austin. The bulk of the work especially early on was done in Montreal, which was composed of a handful of Edmonton expats and heaps of experienced devs who joined from elsewhere specifically to bring a new ME experience to life. Series vets in Edmonton then came on to contribute writing, cinematics, design and QA, along with leadership from creative director Mac Walters and the core Production team. Austin writers and level designers also joined the fray
“It took a new team to take ME beyond the Milky Way”
Mac: “A lot of people in Montreal joined BW as fans of the franchise, so they just had this passion, and it felt like it was more like the days of Jade Empire, where a smaller younger team gets to do something for the first time. Even though it wasn’t necessarily a new IP for me, it felt fresh and new because of that. The team was just super excited to be working on it”
Early plans had the player exploring hundreds of worlds, procedurally generated, allowing for a nearly infinite variety of experiences. But as development wore on, it became clear that the game narrative required more specific, hand-touched level design on each world to keep the story focused and the experience engaging. “The plan was to give players numerous uncharted worlds to explore. Designers worked hard to come up with procedural elements that would make such planets special. Eventually the team made the difficult decision to abandon procedural planets in favor of more memorable hand-touched alien worlds, each with a specific story to tell”
One challenge was defining what ME meant without Shep. Care was given to include many of the MET’s key species. “Ryder recruited turian, asari, krogan and salarian followers”. Like Shep Ryder represents humanity’s hope for a peaceful coexistence among aliens who had long operated without human contact
Beginning with MEA the team decided that with few exceptions vehicles in ME have 6 wheels. Early Nomad concepts were bulkier. Later ones focused on its ability to move over its ability to protect itself from hostile fire, underlining the themes of exploration
German concept designer and auto-motive futurist Daniel Simon was contracted to create the Nomad and Tempest. The Tempest’s final design took inspo from the Concorde
Concepts for angaran fighter ships have the following notes: “Two doors swing open, wings rotate down to function as landing struts, the landing struts split open. It has a spinning turbine engine
Despite being set a galaxy away and some 600 years after Mordin’s death, there was a time when he had a cameo. It wasn’t cut due to running out of time however, it was cut due to drug references. John Dombrow explains: “One day I had to write a small quest for Kadara. I thought it’d be amusing if these 2 guys living way out on the fringes in a shack were growing plants for uh, medicinal purposes, and needed Ryder’s help with it. It occurred to me, wouldn’t it be amusing if Ryder had the option of actually trying ‘the medicine’ to see what would happen? And I thought, what if it turned into some hallucination that somehow involved SAM - like maybe SAM would sing? But why? How could I motivate that? Then it hit me. Who else in the ME game sings unexpectedly? MORDIN. As a nod to him I wrote SAM singing Modern Major-General. It got even better when our cine designer John Ebenger wanted to take it even further. Bless him, he came in on a Saturday to do a special hallucination showing Mordin himself. It was great. Til the fateful day we were told MEA had already been submitted to the ratings board. That’s when you declare things like drug references in your game. Mordin fell under that category which meant it was a no-go. We were too late”
Ryder’s white AI armor contrasts Shep’s iconic dark armor (intentional design)
Concept art for Ryder involved experiments with cloth (cloaks, ponchos, capes - “Pull here to release cloak”) and asymmetrical design elements
For alien design, there’s a few exceptions but humanoid figures are the ME standard and this persisted into MEA
Kett and angara concepts explored striking lines and textures

Default Router Password List

This private IPv4 network address can be changed at any time using your network router's management console. In the case of other routers, you can sort ‘admin' as the default username and password. Occasionally, you can also variety pass' or ‘password' in the password box.
The equipment's makers configure routers to develop a new network (kind 192.168.1.) if a 192.168.0.1 network kind currently exists! The router will have 192.168.1.1 as default address and will give other machines on the network addresses ranging from 192.168.1.2 to192.168.1.254. Most routers have a specific button just for this purpose that you can press with a pointy tool, such as a pen. Basically press and hold the button for at least ten seconds or until you see the LEDs begin flashing.

In most instances, the 192.168.0.1.1 shouldn't have the last numerical value, which means that it need to be 192.168.0.1. It is very typical for router manufacturers to print the default administrator login name and administrator password on a sticker, along with other valuable data, such as the name of the router or the web site of the manufacturer.
For the safety of your network, it's critical to have a robust password Never just rely on the default a single. To change your password, login as detailed above and search for the admin tab. Here you are going to locate the choice to change your password. It will prompt you to type in the password twice for security causes. To adjust the password of the router, first go to advanced settings and from there you should decide on an admin password. Then click adjust it and Save Settings and then it is accomplished. Pressing the reset button of the router for 20 seconds will reset each the username and password to the default ones.
192.1681.1 Router Admin Passwords and Login IP 192.1681.1 is an IP address which routers like Linksys and other network brands use as an access point or gateway.Firms set up router admin access in this address to let network administrators to configure their routers and networks.Concretely one can manage Safety Alternatives, Network Management, IP QoS, DNS, proxy, LAN, WAN, WLAN settings, DSL, ADSL, MAC, WPS block amongst other individuals.
Every single router has an internal router IP address that's used to access its admin interface. Some routers have this IP address written on a sticker on the bottom, but a lot of others do not make it practically as simple to discover. Fortunately, there are internet sites such as where you can discover the router IP address details you need with just a couple of clicks. Then open a browser and enter IP address 192.168.0.1 in the address bar of the browser.
Step 7. A new page will open and this page will inform you two vital things. The IPv4 Default gateway (router's IP address) and your device's IP address to that router which is the IPv4 Address. You need to be greeted by a login prompt asking you for a username and password. In most situations, both the username and password are admin.” Nonetheless, it is attainable to come across a router that utilizes a distinct password, and we explain what to do in that circumstance in the subsequent chapter of this post.

192.168.0.1 Default Router Password List
192.168.0.1 is a Private IP Address for use only inside of a Private Network. A private IP address is an IP assigned by a router to devices within a private network. These IPs can't be accessed from outside the network. For example, your router and each and every device connected to it make up a private network. Computers that are connected to the exact same router can access each and every other but no 1 outside the network can access your computer through the private IP. 192.168.0.1 is a default Router IP Address for all Routers. As we all know that each device which is connected to the net has its IP Address. This IP address is Public and Private each. The IP address 192.168.0.1 is Private IP, which is a default IP address for Routers from D-Hyperlink and Netgear models.
If you can not figure out the username and password, you can look for the default usernames and passwords for the certain make and model of router or modem, which you have, or you can try to find out by contacting your World wide web Service Provider. It really is so easy to set up and uninstall, and even it's fairly simple to add and reset the password in nearly no time. You're in a position to alter the router password.
The 192.168..254 IP address belongs to the 192.168.0.1-192.168..255 variety of private IP addresses, which are frequently utilised for neighborhood area networks (LANs) and have been originally defined in an effort to delay IPv4 address exhaustion, which has been anticipated for decades now due to the dramatic growth of the quantity of internet-connected devices. You will see the default IP address of your modem or router from the Default Gateway section.
Public IP or the IPCv6 Standard addresses should be globally distinctive. This posed a issue for the IPv4 common considering that it can accommodate only 4 billion addresses. Therefore, the IANA introduced the IPv6 standard, which supports numerous more combinations. Instead of utilizing a binary program, it uses a hexadecimal method. An IPv6 address is as a result composed of eight separate groups of hexadecimal numbers, each comprised of 4 digits. For example: abcd:9876:4fr0:d5eb:35da:21e9:b7b4:65o5. Clearly, this system can accommodate nearly infinite growth in IP addresses, up to 340 undecillion (a number with 36 zeros).
When you've accomplished that, here's something else you can do. Disconnect your router from the world wide web and then make certain you have your Computer plugged straight into a LAN port on the router. (NOTE: make note of where each and every cable connects so you can put them back into the exact same location after your accomplished. Make a diagram, take pic's with your sensible phone and so on.) As soon as you have the the two devices connected as I recommend, they will be isolated from almost everything else and this will support to preserve troubleshooting as easy as possible.
Since we're talking about private IP addresses, you need to have to maintain in mind that accessing a router's internet interface is achievable only when you're on the identical network as the router. What is more, you require to know the correct login and password combination otherwise you won't be in a position to get previous the initial login window. The explanation why there are certain destinations on the net that do not have public addresses has every little thing to do with the Net Protocol version 4 (IPv4), which defines an IP address as a 32-bit number. Since the IPv4 pool is 32-bits in size, it can contain only 4,294,967,296 addresses.
Verify the Manual how the reset button functions. Normally you want to hold the reset button for an extended period of time to restore to factory settings. The value for IPv4 is your private IP address. Step three: Open Browser and type 192.168.1.1 and press Enter. Turn on your router and connect it to your computer with an Ethernet cable. Some routers allow you to connect to them wirelessly, but Linksys routers have this feature disabled by default for security reasons.
Let us describe 1 widespread scenario to you: You finally get back home following a lengthy day at school or perform, and all you want to do is kick back and unwind on the web. But the moment you fire up your internet browser you learn that you can not access the web simply because one thing is wrong with your router. The remedy? Use the 192.168..254 IP address to access the router's admin interface and fix the issue there.
192.1681.1 Router Admin Passwords and Login IP 192.1681.1 is an IP address which routers like Linksys and other network brands use as an access point or gateway.Firms set up router admin access in this address to enable network administrators to configure their routers and networks.Concretely one can handle Safety Alternatives, Network Management, IP QoS, DNS, proxy, LAN, WAN, WLAN settings, DSL, ADSL, MAC, WPS block amongst other individuals.
The most widespread router passwords include: admin, password, 1234, unknown, epicrouter, user, root, smcadmin, motorola, zoomadsl, guest, conexant, vodafone, mysweex, airlive, telus, 3play, 12345, ubnt, sky, dsl, cciadmin, admintelecom, 123, zxdsl, speedstream, router, public, highspeed, gvt12345, 3bb, 1234567890, tmadmin, op3n, kpn-adsl, cisco, changeme, atlantis, administrator, 123456. By default, routers of several Net Service Providers (ISPs) will develop a 192.168.. primarily based network, employing the quantity 192.168.0.1 as the router IP by default.
Change the password in Network Security Settings and click Next. Step 1: Connect your Cisco Router to Pc utilizing RJ45 cable. Out of these, the Internet Engineering Activity Force (IETF) has directed the World wide web Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) to reserve 17.9 million addresses for private networks, which are usually utilised for regional location networks (LANs) in residential, workplace, and enterprise environments.
In this instance the router's IP address is 192.168.1.1. Now, if you want to alter Router Password, then go to advanced settings, and from there, select admin password > Change it > Save Settings, and it is done. You should now see a login window with two input fields: one particular for the admin username and a single for the admin password. Often due to improper connection or broken cable, you cannot access the Router residence page. In that case, change the cable. If you forgot your router username and password, then you have to reset it.
At the C:> prompt, type ipconfig and press Enter. In case you never remember the particulars you can use the following technique to access the IP address. If you cannot access 192.168.0.1, you must 1st restart your router and try once again. If that does not support, you may well want to erase your router's settings. Most routers have a specific button just for this objective that you can press with a pointy tool, such as a pen. Basically press and hold the button for at least 10 seconds or till you see the LEDs begin flashing.
If the IP address 192.168.1.11 is not your router IP you can retrieve the router IP with the Ipconfig command (only Windows, for Mac & Linux use ifconfig). 192.168.1.11 is an IP address in the variety 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.255. A extremely typical default IP address for a router or a modem is 192.168.0.1 — you kind this in a browser and you're accessing the router's or modem's interface to make the changes you require.

Yo,
I have never doubted my feelings towards anyone I have told I love them. And outside of going a little beyond my means to make them smile I've never had to prove how much I truly love them....
But I've been dealing with this company BasicInvite.com
Screwing up our Save the Dates... And watching my fiancee tear up enraged me to a level I never knew... Like I love her so much and on such a primal level that just half tears in her eyes
Let's back up a bit.
Wedding Planning Pt2: invitations
I'm kinda jumping ahead of a bit but im pissed rn so we'll circle back around to the cute fun stuff of this topic. I'm sure by now you all have seen our bomb ass engagement photos. We loved them so much we wanted to use them as our save the dates!
We ordered our save the dates through this company. Being the life-long procrastinators we have chosen to be admittedly we sat on this longer than need be. So we Paid extra for the faster shipping. We get all giddy and excited because it's just one more step towards our new lives. Of course she goes to check on it first ... But the tracking number we received was not working. Called customer service and TREVOR explained that somehow our save the dates were lost!!
Some shit about the post office not scanning the box or something. Now they are a small business, probably have one person taking mail. Part of me felt like they just forgot to put the box in the mail. None of that mattered though. We NEED these save the dates ASAP.
He assured us he was print us new ones and they would be shipped out immediately and they would refund me The extra shipping cost. I lightheartedly tell him The misses will kill me cuz The was my task so don't worried about refunding the money and if we have to pay more to get same day shipping we'll do that. Apparently they can't do same day shipping which makes no damn sense but whateva. The next morning the original package mysteriously gets an update on the tracking number. Interesting... But regardless Trevor said he would send us a new set. Then we get an email. They TOO have noticed movement on the package and now will WAIT and see before they send a new set.
Um..
..No. We explain to them that we could not afford to wait, which is why we paid extra for the shipping anyway. I asked again for Trevor. He said they understood and would go ahead making the second batch. They were just "letting me know"... Ok... A day goes by and we reach out again because we havent got a tracking number for the second batch. They tell us that the second batch did not pass its quality control inspection and now they have to print a THIRD batch which would take another 3 days!!! They said the good news was that it looked like the original batch would be there the next day anyways. Upon hearing this my sweet little future wife begins tear up off pure frustration. Because honestly, and tell us if we wrong, but it really felt like our original assumptions about them just forgetting to mail the first box was correct. And now they are dragging us along until it shows up so they don't have to make a new box...
Am I wrong?
At this moment my patience had worn out.
I demanded to have this new batch made and shipped the same day because at this point we had wasted too much time to get a refund and go anywhere else. They gave me some b.s. about having a contract with USPS and can't do same day. I demanded to speak to a higher up which i was denied.
Fuck that.
You see the unseen problem small businesses have is that They rely too much on their own social media. So finding the CEO was only a click away.
And I sent him a lengthy FB msg
After that They assured me I would be getting my package that day and give me a full refund. Of course I had heard this three times already. I told them I would NOT get off the phone until my packing is literally in the hands of the postman and I get an email SAYING it was shipped. I'm not kidding you guise. I put the phone on speaker at work at say there with them for 5hours.
They actually sent a picture of the box on the truck and then tried to hang up on me! Hold up. No. I said I needed both the picture AND update on the tracking. Not just being a dick about the situation but if we all remember in the beginning how this all started was them saying "the mail man must have forgotten to scan it..." So you will WAIT with me as I refresh until it says on the way. But I felt bad for the poor girl on the phone, syd I think her name was. So I said this is Trevors fault put his ass on the phone.
There was a strange silence then she says he's out of the office... I really hate when people try and play you like we haven't all worked customer service and managers have given us the I'm not here face
I asked when he would be back and she says she can't give me his schedule. I then tell her if I have to call back for him the civility of this interaction, which was already at a low point, will be null. Further more I have enough sky miles to fly to Utah in the morning if I have to.... By this time the tracking has updated... She tries again to get off the phone. I say where's Trevor.. Oh he has magically reappeared.
Sounding annoyed by having to talk he immediately goes into this bland ingenuine corporate apology. BUT instead of apologizing on behalf of BasicInvite.com this foo says he stands by the quality and service of BasicInvite.com and he apologizes for USPS!?
Bruh...
How you gonna be so self absorbed you gonna blame the Untied States government.
Even if it's true they messed up the first box, which I still don't think they did. What about the 2nd box? Why did I have to curse two poor customer service reps out for you to figure out how to do same day shipping? He then tells me he thought maybe we were trying to get something for free
I went ALL the way off.
I said several times I didn't care about the money for these cheap ass save the dates I wanted the save the dates! I even suggested paying extra. So where in the fuck you get the idea I'm trying to get over?.. He hung up. I called back and got poor syd answers. I say put Trevor on the phone she again says he's not taking calls. I told her I will call everyday for the rest of this year until Trevor or Brock takes my call and gives me a real apology.
They truly had no idea who They just crossed.
I called everyday And only saying hello can I speak to Trevor til They blocked me. I then used the website chat. They blocked my IP from going to their website, then gave me a refund. I went to Starbucks used two pcs and vpns til they had to install a new chat service that could block instantly. Still all I said was hello I need to speak to Trevor. Finally getting a formal cease and desist email I stopped.Trevor you should thank your god that my god put a woman in my life with some sense because I was really prepared to torture you for the rest of my living days.
So now I have double the save the dates and nothing to do with them. If It were up to me I'd burn the whole lot of them post the video on IG and tag BasicInvite.com
Anyone out there listening please do not use these people. I should have known from the name they some basic bitches.

taking this out of tags RIGHT NOW
tags by @navy-leader
this. makes me go fucking insane. continuing
im still going fucking insane about my last tags
there's NO possible way of victim not seeing something that was streamed on alans channel and respectively streamed in the outernet. its canon that avm original was streamed there. even if it wasnt every episode of avam it is still there. victim lives there and knows what outernet has (and most likely knows about oranges and cg existence. not their powers but existence from at least an avm original episode)
and given that vic learned about chosen and that he was wanted. that victim KNEW about their existence and chased after them. that he had seen something that made him realize that chosen inherently had ties with alan??
one of my thoughts is that only specific stuff is accessible to outernet in canon. maybe not even the whole content of vids. (though the avm original was sixteen minutes and in "the king" it is seen that the video streamed is also sixteen minutes) which could explain how victim only knew a small bit of stuff and didnt just see the a bit of a whole thirty minute willingly and went "well thats all i gotta know about it".
its likely victim accessed chosen(and possibly dark) videos streamed and connected the dots by recognizing alan, similar methods of torturing chosen and the interface of alans pc.
(since its canon victims torture is on youtube and possibly chosens its kinda fucked if they accessed it as well. which perhaps made them even more vengeful)
thought. was showdown something that was streamed or something that was uploaded on youtube? at least the beginning of it?? and victim knew only bits of it???. it could be possible that victim knew about chosen&dark place of living and darks technology. from just bits of information and his company couldve investigated it? but ultimately didnt find chosen nor dark there. and therefore placed a damn bounty on chosen. and they mightve used leftover darks technology there for their own shit. victim knowing about darks tech and possibly small pieces of the showdown could also be explained that he didnt seem to mind the events taken before yellow coded the cursor into the outernet when going through chosens memory. but it does make me think whether victim knew that the cg went back to the pc and therefore didnt place wanted posters of them ??? did he know about darks death and therefore didnt place wanted posters of dark?? wouldnt he try any means to find how to get to alan? is it possible that only the cursor and tscs awakening parts of the showdown video were erased and vic, again, wanted to see more to it (i had a thought that he couldve known what is up with the showdown due to having surveillance technology but im doubting it because chosen and dark lived really secludedly from the city).
but in case the showdown was somewhat seen? by other sticks? and vic couldve known about darks and chosen terror shit from other sticks/a news outlet? oh my god i just realized something
so theres a comic about me wondering how did sticks treat chosens&dark terror in the internet and possibly outernet too. that dark blasted a whole fucking beam in the sky near the stickcity and it wasnt unable to be seen. could victim see that???? could he connect the dots that it was hollowheads power??
the rocket logo. dude. i JUST THOUGHT about it yesterday. and it made so much sense to me
my possible thought was. that victim did escape alanspc through the ip/pc sky. somewhat. in one way or another. and it was the reason why a rocket was picked as the corporations logo.
a rocket is something that is able to literally fly to the sky. to access the higher parts of the world. the ip/sky part of it that had a wormhole to alan in it. the person victim chased after.
and given that rocketcorp specializes on tech. another reason to it besides victims knowledge and ability to use it before and deciding to bring it into the outernet and devote a whole company to it. a rocket is literally something that is made of technology. and since they had to chose a logo that symbolizes tech
victim chose something that represented his goal.
fucking insane about it
i basically treat it as a base for my theories that victim established/reformed a corporation that used internet technologies he himself brought into the outernet (in one way or another). but his company is widely known as a regular tech company that produces all different kinds of it. including domestic stuff like tvs and surveillance cameras and also weapons. but due to technology and digital stuff literally forming the internet and outernet itself they also act as some force in the outernet that upkeeps and protects its citizens. since theyre the only ones with that kind of power
and all these projects that cover many areas of technology that are made by them are used to cover their shady underground shit like. the box and torture and victims true goal (which i believe he could be secret about even to his mercs and colleagues)
and that the point of victim bringing internet technology there. his whole plan of revenge.
it is done in order to protect his kind from something that he experienced. giving them a mean to defend themselves. ESPECIALLY after knowing cursors of users can be manifested in the outernet and damage sticks.
and he is the kind to be ruthless about it if it means creating safety. something he lacked.
(violence and oppression cant be solved with peaceful talks kind of mentality)
im fucking INSANE about this right NOW.
also. another thought
giving the possibility that victim "fell down" from the ip/sky. him providing the internet with basically "divine power" that regular kind of outernet sticks didnt have. him trying to protect outernet sticks from danger and death.
makes the interpretation of victim with angelic/halo symbolism in the fandom so much more sense. and so fucking amazing. oh my god i NEED to make something about this idea.
tom you opened a whole different dimension to my thinking and it fills in the holes ive thought about. im going to be so fucking insane and annoying about this.
pinning this. im
(go to tags here if you want to see my another idea of victim that is so fucking. mind changing to me)
#animator vs animation#alan becker#animation vs minecraft#animation vs animator#ava victim#prev rb#ava theory#ava theories#ava headcanons#avm headcanons#avm theories#storgesinsaneramblings#another thought.#that the reason victim draws is that he had seen that he is able to literally bring things to life. that alan is able to do that.#that the adobe program can do that#he wanted to try and see if he can do it in the outernet.#he wanted to try and see if he is able to do something that will replace his lack of power.#which makes it SO much more upsetting#and that another possible reason for bringing internet and pc technology to the outernet#is that he wanted to have the possibility to do these things again#to have something to make up for his weakness.#and. seeing tsc. that can create life everywhere from scratch. wields an OBJECT from the pc that gives them power#makes it so. so. so fucking tragic.#that they have it. but he doesn't#and the fact that.#orange stood in the victims figure in animation vs youtube#makes them being parallels. two sides of one coin. the one who had a decent life on a pc and the one who didnt#makes it SO FUCKING INSANE.

Sea Of Thieves Evaluation In Progress
Rare's Sea of Thieves for Windows ten and Xbox A single appears to have gotten off to a sturdy start off on both platforms right after lately launching. As a proof of idea though, The Hungering Deep's campaign is significantly far more promising. Merrick, the Captain Ahab-like NPC at the centre of the new DLC, and his quest to find and kill an ancient aquatic beast, is precisely the kind of focus the game needs. He creates a fantastic Sea of Thevies pc download anchor point for the new content material update, and serves as a welcome strand of lore in a world which has constantly felt like it has stories to tell, but never ever fairly manages to tell them. What is seaoftheviespc.download , it really is a enjoyable way to introduce the update's new tools, and, far more importantly, gives a sense of purpose, albeit fleetingly, to the usual sandbox meandering. Sea of Thieves does not need huge marquee additions to keep its world feeling fresh it just requirements to maintain a steady flow of interesting, varied approaches for players to interact (be they collaborative, nefarious, or each), so as to ensure that its spirited higher seas adventuring remains appropriately unpredictable. The factor how to download sea of thevies is I never personal Xbox, I'm not interested in owning it and I do not need xbox pass on Computer. I heard someplace that xbox pass was like 600 RUB but I would I acquire it on Computer? Without having xbox pass alternative this games value is sky high in Russia. There is tonnes of customisation on offer as well, from the ‘infinite pirate generator' that greets you when you very first boot up the game, offering a speedy selection of character models, to the plethora of accoutrements you can earn to modify your in-game appear. Pleasantly, each and every item is universal, so anticipate how to download sea of thevies to see a fair handful of bearded ladies or bodice-sporting gents on the high seas. Ships are just as open to redesign, but new ship parts are considerably far more pricey than costume products, requiring you to take on a number of challenges before you can pimp your ride. If you don't have any pals playing Sea of Thieves, matchmaking can be rough—again, the fun depends on your firm. And the structured, competitive game of hunting down treasure and stealing it from others is not a comprehensive accomplishment. It drifts into us now and then when we spot an additional vessel, but rapidly evaporates when they turn tail, or are revealed to have nothing How to Download Sea of Thevies at all but themselves on board. Objective-oriented play is like sailing into the wind, typically actually even though en route to an island to dig up however another chest, or metaphorically as you hold your bladder by means of way also significantly tedious skeleton combat. The graphics efficiency of Sea of Thieves is remarkable, and certainly it's enjoyable to sail with your buddies. But dull combat and repeated missions ruin it. There's a Pirate Code of Conduct stuck to the wall in each and sea of thevies pc download every tavern in Sea of Thieves. It promotes neighborhood and fair play, and if these have been rules rather than ideas, the ocean would be a lovely spot. However pirates seldom adhere to suggestions. To further add to the problem, Sea of Thieves will quickly charge players gold when they die , which is unsurprisingly an extremely unpopular notion with the playerbase. Uncommon promises that death expenses will differ how to download sea of thevies, depending on the sort of death and whether it could have been avoided or not, but that it will not charge players at all for PVP associated deaths. After you and your crew have made it to square T26 on the Sea of Thieves map, you all require to pull out instruments, and begin playing the very same tune in unison. You will want at least one particular person (possibly two) on the drums at when, and you will want to hold the tune for at least fifteen seconds prior to the Megalodon shows up. Sea of Thieves is an open-globe pirate-themed adventure for Xbox A single and Windows 10 Helmed by Uncommon - the British developer responsible for classics over the years such as Best Dark and Conker's Undesirable Fur Day - it was billed as the ideal sea of thevies pc download game Uncommon has ever created. But, Sea of Thieves is anything but that. Behind its amazing water effects, gorgeous lighting, and pitch excellent controls is a game sporting a litany of troubles. Ignoring the pirate speak and lovely wordsmithing, the message basically speaks of ships coming to a new world. What is the world” in technical terms for a game like this? Effectively, it really how to download sea of thevies is the server instance that you and your crew are currently connected to. So the message, in brief, signifies that the game has moved your crew to a new planet, a new server instance. Sea of Thieves is an ambitious and risky outing for Uncommon. It is the studio's very first wholly new IP since Kinect Sports back in 2010, and you'd require to appear even additional back in the developer's timeline to uncover anything matching the open adventure vibe this is going for. In essence, it begs the question of regardless of whether the studio nevertheless has what it requires.

rolls up sleeves. today's short guys.
the short brought me SO much to think about — particularly, how the news outlets DO exist in the outernet, and how the showdown was seen from the stickcity — which does confirm that if they were around, it was impossible for vic not to see at least bits of it before.
so in this post i am . once again . compiling my thoughts into a big victim theory that tied in my Head
victim theory: the point the show went down
again. warning this is me going on a RAMBLE that is so insane that i constantly switch from one topic to another. expect insanity
in case i interpret something incorrectly in your opinion, or forget a major detail — feel completely free to add on! my memory is horrible
so. presenting the thing that the outernet and the internet are connected with each other, yet still have a barrier in-between them there is a possibility of outernet citizens not having access to it full-time. at the same time, so much stuff is digitally reliant on pc tech that i doubt outernet sticks wouldnt know about it at all
im thinking that when victim has been ‘unsaved’, one way or another — they couldve gotten into the outernet, also one way or another (this is a raw supposition that it would happen that early but). which made them separated from the pc/internet in the first place — severing them from knowing about how things really work there aside from what they learned when needed to survive, as well as knowing about the existence of other cursors.
and given the last, when showdown happened — this was their first cue to become involved in the whole hollowhead tragedy. a thing they didn't know before due to being out of the pc — which was also the point where they became obsessed with revenge.
we now DO know that the outernet has news outlets; whether they saw it on the news or themselves, this was their first step into getting revenge. (at the same time, seeing it on the news would sort of? elaborate on why rocket tech most likely also streams news n such. perhaps as some weird kind of thanks "for showing me where my torturer was" or, perhaps, wanting others to see what has been going on too/how much of a danger cursors are. it would support the freedom guy=victim theory just a tad bit if victim Did care about stick rights prior showdown)
(another point — i must mention that we now know that sticks have phones, and most likely their own in-gadget social media now — but we don't know if they have the same internet as humans do. honestly the whole reason why the theory of sticks not having full access to internet didn't crumble yet.)
going to investigate, either by themselves or having already been in rocket — they could've possibly found the tech dark owned (as well as the mega blaster that literally shoots things in the ip sky) and, importantly, dark's own portals to the internet — and perhaps, have used them, for minor things and scraps or, something bigger. like actual travel.
whether by connecting the cursor with alan or not, by the point of them getting into the internet they DEFINITELY saw what happened with them, chosen, dark. (ava 4 as well, but it is talked about later.)
and thats the point where theyd get the adobe tools = i believe they would have to go to a pc to get them, but i also am not against the possibility of them just. downloading it cracked or something. they got the tools and. if thats the point where they left the pc/internet and didnt come back (perhaps, danger of another user) it mightve been the reason they didnt know about the powers of second.
this whole thing elaborates on why they found the showdown in chosens memories first — having seen what happened, they wanted to fully understand what went down — perhaps where such power came from. it was kind of.. impossible to see sec from such distance? and there werent any news outlets seen next to the showdown site itself, which could explain why they didnt know about secs powers once again.
the thing that makes me doubt this in a way is the reason why they didn't go to alan right away, having acquired the adobe tools. but there is a thing i believe might explain that — victim saw, and realized that chosen, dark and them are peas of the same pod; that they managed to destroy alan's computer — and that they don't have such power to do the same ¯\_(:{)_/¯
having came back to the outernet, with the adobe tools — they might've started to enact the plan of getting revenge by gaining power that they first lacked, now especially that they had some tools to do so. them getting the instruments that outernet citizens didn't have before, perhaps didn't fully know about — they could've been seen as someone who brought something special to the outernet. they could've been a person that, aside from revenge, would want to protect sticks (it would genuinely clash with how they treated chosen, but at the same time i can believe it was their own anger of not getting what chosen "had". power and ability to get revenge on their creator.) — being seen as some sort of saviour or, at least, someone powerful — this is how they could've gotten up the career stairs of rocketcorp in the first place.
what makes me think of the box episode — this could've been the point they have acquired enough power to challenge alan, causing them to FINALLY hang up posters after 5 years (sorry it just tied in so well in my mind thats why i capitalized it. like holy shit thats the reason for posters being late as shit)
knowing about the showdown, they wouldn't put up dark as well, whether she was mia or . yknow.
what EXACTLY the power to challenge an animator, a god requires. oh this is a brainworm of mine.
knowing about the showdown#2, perhaps having investigated it itself — could bring back the theory of dark being captured by rocket and, perhaps, being in her weak state — used by victim in order to gain more power that they lacked. victim could've known about how challenging dark was to beat + how chosen and dark managed to destroy chosen's computer = a recipe to gain power to go at alan themselves.
and have finally gained enough power, whether with dark or not — they could've went for chosen, who WAS active — and difficult to beat.
finally being ready to go at alan, they went to get the only person alive that was connected to him.
i could also bring in the fact that they COULD'VE possibly tried to go at chosen for using his own powers for themselves as well — at the possibility of them being "good and powerful" in the eyes of society, being a "saviour" — capturing a well-known terrorist, moreover brainwashing citizens (a raw assumption, but perhaps even rocket) into thinking that they need to get him to get revenge on a person that murders sticks — that it is something that they were okay with doing. at the hands of their own, bitter desire for revenge.
one thing that contrasts it all, however — showdown has happened when ava4 already happened. and in case victim went to investigate their roots — it would've been impossible for them not to know about sec. but at the same time, orange used his own wit (and a small sprinkle of chosen silhouette flashing) to try and defeat noogai — and he didn't !! alan has trapped and spared him on his own !! which could've made them think it's not someone worth paying attention to, someone isn't powerful enough that they may need.
i must mention that it is possible for victim to gain the adobe tools without looking at the hollowhead's history after they were created at the time. for example, stealing the app and not opening youtube to do so, lol — but the whole existence of alan's tv makes it at the same time impossible, and at the same time — so confusing on why victim did not know about sec's powers.
im clutching my pearls . oh god this is so long
im going ins
i would APPRECIATE ALL of your input!!!
#animator vs animation#alan becker#animation vs minecraft#animation vs animator#storgesinsaneramblings#ava theory#artofstorge#dark being held in rocket amphibia marcy wu style when

MSI Alpha 15 Review
MSI's Alpha 15 made waves at its debut a year ago for using all AMD hardware, the only gaming laptop to do so at the time. Other vendors have joined the ranks since then, but MSI prepared well by refreshing the Alpha 15 ($1,199 as tested) at the end of 2020 with a more powerful "Renoir" Ryzen 7 processor and a beefier 6GB Radeon RX 5600M graphics card. The new notebook churned out great 1080p gaming performance in our testing while keeping the high-end features of the original, such as its per-key RGB backlit keyboard. Our top choices among upper-entry-level gaming rigs remain the HP Omen 15 and the Acer Predator Helios 300, but the Alpha 15 is a creditable alternative, especially if you can catch it on sale.
Touched Up by 'Renoir'
The new Alpha's eight-core Ryzen 7 4800H CPU (2.9GHz base, up to 4.2GHz boost) gives it a leg up on similarly priced Intel gaming notebooks powered by the six-core Core i7-10750H. The Helios 300 is one example, going for $1,174 on Amazon with a 6GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti as I typed this review.
That said, the Alpha 15 must also contend with AMD-powered notebooks; HP offers a comparably equipped Omen 15 (model 15-en0029nr) for $1,249 while the Dell G5 15 SE goes for $1,205. These minimal price differences highlight the fierce competitiveness of this segment.
The MSI looks much the same as before on the outside. Its dark silver palm rest contrasts nicely with the black of the rest of the laptop, though I'm still lukewarm about the green logo on the back of the lid. At least it's not backlit.
The lid backing is the only metal on this laptop. Considering the Alpha 15 is now $100 or $200 more expensive than last year's model, it could stand more of it to feel as sturdy as the Acer and HP laptops. That said, all its surfaces do a good job of resisting flex.
The system is slightly oversize and overweight for a 15.6-inch gamer. Its 1.1-inch thickness is 0.2 inch more than the Omen 15, and it's heavier at 5.3 pounds versus 4.6 pounds. Trim side display bezels translate to a reasonable 14.1-inch width, though a thick bottom bezel extends its depth to 9.8 inches, 0.4 inch more than the HP.
The full HD (1,920-by-1,080-pixel) screen leaves little room for complaint. It not only offers IPS technology for wide viewing angles, an anti-glare coating, and a 144Hz refresh rate, but AMD FreeSync Premium technology to smooth out frame rates. Laptops with Nvidia G-Sync are far more expensive.
The screen has average brightness but an overall enjoyable picture with its rated 72% coverage of the NTSC gamut (about 100% of sRGB).
The Keyboard: Per-Key RGB Backlighting
Its SteelSeries-designed keyboard is one of the Alpha 15's high-end touches. It integrates with the SteelSeries Engine app for its per-key RGB backlighting and reprogrammable keys, features usually reserved for more expensive gaming notebooks. (The Omen 15 and Predator Helios 300 offer neither.)
The island-style keys have satisfyingly soft key presses and a font that says "gamer." Layout-wise, the keyboard is partially nonstandard since the arrow keys are forced into the main keyboard area, downsizing the right Shift and number pad 0 keys. (The Lenovo Legion 5i avoids this traffic jam by properly divorcing its arrow keys below the keyboard.) The Windows key is also located to the right instead of left of the space bar, though the MSI Dragon Center app lets you swap it with the Fn key if you wish. A maximum-cooling-fan button, a key to launch Dragon Center, and the power button sit above the number pad.
Meanwhile, the traditional two-button touchpad offers a smooth surface and ample space, though its physical clicks are loud.
The Alpha 15's generous port selection includes four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (three Type-A and one Type-C), Ethernet, full-size HDMI and mini DisplayPort video outputs, separate headphone and microphone jacks, and a full-size SD card reader.
The ports are divided between the left and right sides, though some are positioned right up against the front edge (near the user) so plugged-in peripherals can protrude into external mouse or elbow-resting territory. Fortunately, the included power adapter has a right-angle connector to keep a low profile.
The Alpha 15 uses an Intel AX200 wireless card for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 connectivity, an upgrade over the original Alpha's previous-generation wireless standards. However, like most gaming notebooks, it still lacks a fingerprint reader and face-recognition webcam to support Windows Hello biometrics. The 720p webcam also delivers merely average quality, like most laptops' in this price range. The stereo speakers located beneath the palm rest are equally unremarkable with their bass-shy sound.
Team Red on the Bench: Testing the Alpha 15
The Alpha 15 model A4DEK-004US that I'm testing packs an eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 4800H processor, a 6GB AMD Radeon RX 5600M graphics card, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB NVMe solid-state drive for its Windows 10 Home operating system. MSI backs it with a one-year warranty. The system was hard to find for sale as I typed this, though the close-cousin A4DEK-005US model (which doubles the SSD storage to 1TB) was available for $1,199 on Newegg with a $100 mail-in rebate that brought it to just $1,099. That's commendable hardware for the money.
For our performance benchmarks, I compared the Alpha 15 to the gaming notebooks listed below...
The HP Omen 15 teams its Ryzen chip with a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti to make an ideal comparison with (and foil for) the Alpha 15's Radeon RX 5600M. The Acer Predator Helios 300 will show what a more expensive GeForce RTX 2070 (Max-Q) can do, while MSI's Bravo 15, another all-AMD model from earlier this year, uses an entry-level Radeon RX 5500M to save money. (It was $999 as tested.) Let's go.
Storage, Media, and CPU Tests
Our first test, UL's PCMark 10, assesses general system performance across different real-world productivity and content-creation workflows. The Alpha 15's score of 5,950 points is outstanding, far above the 4,000 points we like to see from high-performance PCs. The system's showing in PCMark 8's storage subtest is also competitive. (That said, most modern SSDs ace this test.)
Next up is a pair of CPU-crunching tests: Cinebench R15 stresses all available processor cores and threads while rendering a complex image, while in our Handbrake test, we transcode a 12-minute 4K video down to 1080p.
The Alpha 15 kept pace with the Omen 15 and Bravo 15, since all three use AMD's Ryzen 7 4800H CPU. The Intel-based Acer and Lenovo trailed.
The final test in this section is photo editing. We use an early 2018 release of Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud to apply 10 complex filters and effects to a standard JPEG image, timing each operation and adding up the totals. This test is not as CPU-focused as Cinebench or Handbrake, bringing the performance of the storage subsystem, memory, and GPU into play.
The Predator Helios 300 and Legion 5i did better here mainly because of their higher-clocked Core i7-10750H chips, which top out at 5.1GHz; the Ryzen 7 4800H reaches just 4.2GHz. The "bursty" Photoshop test tends to reward machines that can ramp processing-intensive tasks up and down quickly. Nonetheless, the Alpha 15 still makes a powerful photo-editing platform.
Graphics Tests
Our first two benchmarks in this section measure the gaming performance potential of a PC. In UL's 3DMark, we run the Sky Diver (lightweight, capable of running on integrated graphics) and Fire Strike (more demanding, for high-end gaming PCs) subtests, both DirectX 11-based. Our other gaming simulation, Unigine Corp.'s Superposition, uses a different rendering engine to produce a complex 3D scene.
The Alpha 15 and Omen 15 slugged it out, though the Alpha took the lead in 3DMark Fire Strike. However, the Superposition 1080p benchmark shows their GPUs are neck and neck. Both were far ahead of the Bravo 15.
Next, we'll try some real games. We use the built-in 1080p benchmarks of Far Cry 5 (at its Normal and Ultra presets) and Rise of the Tomb Raider (at its Medium and Very High presets). Far Cry 5 uses DirectX 11, while we flip Rise of the Tomb Raider to DirectX 12.
The stalemate between the Alpha 15 and Omen 15 continued; it's clear that the Radeon RX 5600M and GeForce GTX 1660 Ti are well-matched. The GeForce RTX-equipped Predator and Legion performed slightly better.
As far as Intel versus AMD goes, the Core i7-10750H is just as capable of gaming as the Ryzen 7 4800H, though the AMD chip's two extra cores can be advantageous for livestreaming or recording gaming sessions. It's undoubtedly an all-around faster CPU.
Impressively, the Alpha 15 didn't get more than lukewarm on its top and bottom throughout my gaming sessions. Its processor and graphics card also stayed under their maximum rated temperatures—the Ryzen 7 4800H topped 86 degrees C while the Radeon RX 5600M reached just 68 degrees C.
That said, I wish the fans were quieter. It was easy to pick out the noise from across my living room while the Alpha 15 was running full tilt.
Battery Rundown Test
For our last benchmark, we measure a laptop's unplugged runtime while playing a locally stored video with screen brightness at 50 percent and audio volume at 100 percent. We use the notebook's energy-saving rather than balanced or other power profile where available, turn off Wi-Fi, and even disable keyboard backlighting to squeeze as much life as possible out of the system.
The Omen 15 lasted another hour, but the nearly nine hours of the Alpha 15 is an excellent time for a 15.6-inch gamer. MSI deserves a shout-out for vastly improving the battery life versus last year's model, which lasted barely five hours in this same scenario.
Well-Priced AMD Power, Take Two
MSI's refreshed Alpha 15 is a much stronger performer with its eight-core Ryzen CPU and Radeon RX 5600M graphics card, as it's now able to go toe-to-toe with GeForce GTX 1660 Ti notebooks. It offers high-end features not often seen at its price point—a 144Hz FreeSync Premium screen and per-key RGB backlit keyboard—and showed impressive stamina in our battery test.
It's a little chunky and could use quieter cooling fans, but its low price makes those downsides easier to digest. Well-priced and well-rounded, the Alpha 15's value torch continues to burn brightly among upper-entry-level gaming laptops.
