At the shelter where I met the little lady, where I was volunteering at the time, she was very shy because it was a new place. She only really approached me because she was pretty scared, and she almost right away took comfort in me. She spent many of her early days there hiding under the couch away from everyone. She's also very small- only a few kilos [don't worry though she's a healthy weight, she's just small]- and I think she's aware of how small she is even when compared to other cats.

Flo goes to me for comfort because, we think anyway, that she's traumatized and I'm her chosen person. My theory is someone hurt her before she was dumped and later found by the shelter's trapping team. Even now she can be a bit jumpy, but she's much more confident.

She'll interact with people and even give them friendly face rubs and such, but I'm her main person. She sits at the bottom of the stairs the moment she hears my voice, she'll rush over to me if I show up, she'll yell at me to pick her up and climb up my leg for it if I'm doing something else... she's comfy now, but it's clear I'm her chosen mom.

She's anxious like her momma lol but she's a sweetheart. Especially now, she's so affectionate and loves belly rubs. At most she'll run away from you to one of her preferred spots, really.

But no, Flo is not a mean cat. She's a very friendly, very good kitty, with a very obvious preference for who she likes lmao
