On the one hand I enjoy Dwayne's presence when we actually hang out but on the other I feel conflicted about possibly taking too much of his time up, especially when it's been a while.

It's fairly late in the evening when he gets the message.

Late meaning it's quarter to seven, and he was sprawled out on the cough, half an hour into some horror movie when the text lights his phone up, the device buzzing atop his thigh. It's welcome, yes, but he was halfway to dozing off, and he's only slightly inconvenienced by it. But the prospect of a new friend and some fresh coffee was enough to get him up. He'd gotten dressed, not in anything fancy, and headed out.

Twenty minutes later - no thanks to the traffic and the asshole that almost t-boned him - he's standing outside the local coffee shop, one hand in his pocket, the other holding up his phone so as to scroll through the feed.
