Obsessed with the idea of Fran, this seemingly inconspicuous bookish clumsy girl, being a deadly shot with terrifyingly good aim (to the point where I had to sketch SOMETHING, second one is a design I have for her training gear)

She's farsighted mainly due to her animal spirit, so she's relatively clumsy when working at JKP and needs her glasses when reading, but put a gun or any long-range weapon in her hands and she's like a seasoned military fighter, has great night vision, and can see up to half a mile in front of her.

One day the Rangers are dealing with a long-distance MOTW and while they're getting their asses handed to them, Fran goes out on her own and perches on top of a high surface so she can snipe at it and it works.

Of course the Masters and Rangers are simultaneously impressed by and terrified of her, and this is BEFORE she becomes a Ranger, so imagine her abilities amplified by the Morphing Grid (especially if she's allowed to fly)

After watching Cosmic Fury myself....yeah, my opinion still the same really: it doesn't really feel like an ending to a 30 year old franchise like Power Rangers, it just feels like another series of Power Rangers.

= Yeah, if you're wondering how the Triceratops coin will come into play this issue.......it doesn't. Honestly they don't even make it to this lab, so the whole question of what Rangers existed in this world or how much the Eltarians know about Rangers is still heavily under wraps. Which on the one hand is fine because they clearly want to draw out the mystery of it all, but at the same time it makes the worldbuilding feel half-baked, because we still have no real identity for this world beyond MAYBE "the Samurai were Earth's main defenders." And like.....I wouldn't be questioning it if they didn't want to brag about showing off all aspects of the franchise. The Return pulled off no other Rangers existing because it didn't try to advertise itself as anything but MMPR. Prime WANTS to be more than MMPR, but will barely commit to it.

You're the meaning in my life, you're the inspiration...

The Maiden of the Barren of the Rime wouldn't exist if it weren't for Critical Role, Liam O'brien, and most importantly Caleb Widogast.

I'm sure every Critter out there has asked themself the question: 'What character would I play if I ever got to play at the table?' My answer was Mina.

Mina, originally, was a ranger/bard eladrin cursed to stay forever in the winter season. Specifically made with Campaign 2 in mind, I wanted to design a PC that would create a good juxtaposition to those already at the table. A literal iceblock that the Mighty Nein could chip away at as they often did with too-serious NPCs, and someone who could be mirror to Caleb, my favorite PC from Campaign 2.

As Campaign 2 steered it paths towards Aeor and the Eyes of Nine however, Mina didn't fit in the campaign any more (as most fandom OCs will do as canon goes along) but I couldn't abandon her. Couldn't throw her into my constantly growing pile of character sheets.

And she wouldn't let me forget her. In fact, her and her eventual counterpart, Sebastian, are some of the first characters of mine in recent memory to invade my dreams.

There was something in her I had to explore. Her rage echoed my rage. Her want to overcome her trauma, but fear that she would always be chained by it, mirrored my own healing journey.

Other characteristics of myself and themes I wanted to explore became the other characters. Sebastian became the other side of Mina's coin, someone who met inconveniences with relentless optimism instead of rage. A self-sacrificing people-pleaser against a self-preserving misanthrope, whose flaws both came from coping with past hardships.

A dirty little fire wizard sparked a rich story exploring the societal expectations of womanhood, the nature of generational trauma, and the complex journey of learning how to love one's self through others (among many other themes)...

...and a incredible talented singer/songwriter from Ireland helped hone them.

When I first started writing The Maiden of the Barren Rime in 2021, Hozier's music played an important, but minimal roll in providing emotional clarity for the characters. "Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene" helped to color the more ethereal and deadly nature of Mina, the fae part of her that lures people in, while "Nina Cried Power" grounded her fury, and helped to shape the larger world of Mina's story that will be revealed in later books.

As the core of the novel was written and finished in January 2023, the editing and refining process became my next great beast to slay. A huge slab of marble that with my fantastic editor and outside readers I was able to carve away at, but Hozier's Unreal Unearth steadied my hands.

It was already a wild enough coincidence that 'Blood Upon the Snow', a song meant to capture the brutality of winter in God of War: Ragnorak, released during writing MBR; eerily capturing exactly how I pictured Mina's upbringing. Hearing Unreal Unearth, a beautiful album about heartbreak, healing, death, and grief among other things, while I was writing an novel about heartbreak, healing, death, and grief among other things was surreal. And wonderful.

It helped to inspire the words I was missing, helped me carve out more cutting prose to capture the depth of my characters' emotions, and most importantly gave me the reassurance that the themes and emotions I was exploring were not singular, but shared. In different shades and presentations, but all coming from a same source of universal human truth.

I can not thank these two enough for the inspiration they've given me, and I can not thank you enough if you've read this much of my ramblings (and suffered my cheesy use of a Chicago lyric.)

Camille choosing the Phoenix for her Phantom Beast Armour and Spirit feels so perfect. In Spirit of the Tiger during Super Megaforce, what is it that Casey says about the Phoenix Spirit to Emma?

"Brave and Resiliant."

That was what Camille was, and what she wanted to be. She CHOSE the spirit of the Phoenix, because she wanted to be braver and resiliant, a better combatant for Dai Shi.

But she ALREADY WAS brave and resiliant. She withstood and recovered time and time again from defeat and from abuse and made it to the other side, showing resiliance, and what can be braver than standing up to Dai Shi himself in order to protect the man she'd fallen in love with, and then doing it AGAIN to protect the Rangers?

Camille went through hell, and arose from the ashes brighter and better.

And with an absolutely KICKASS phoenix armour to boot.

I just know Tamotsu Shinohara knew he was that bitch when he came up with these designs like, he had a vision and made it work, like he just woke up and decided to make one of the most goated outfits one day, top tier ranger designs✨✨✨

Adventure Heaven is finally opening on July 28!

Hirakawa: In this movie you will meet a new side of Rita never before seen. Filming the movie is a fresh experience for me from start to finish.

Kaku: We will touch on Kaguragi's past in the movie. It will be very important for him in the future.

Ikeda: The coronation scene we shot with a crowd of extras. It is our biggest and grandest scene yet.

The guest cast including Ms. Sakura Ayane as Debonica is impressive too.

Ikeda: Ms. Sakura has a distinctive method of vocalization. When the two of us talked in private and she said "Royal Arms", I was stunned.

Is Ms. Sakura's "Royal Arms" cool?

Ikeda: It's very powerful, very cool indeed.

Kaku: As a king, you have to be cool.

Hirakawa: I didn’t get to meet all of the guest cast in person, but Mr. Nakamura Shido (Rainoir) has a solemn and powerful presence just from being. He brought on set a positive tension that alerted everybody "the movie is about to start!".

In the movie, Gira finally becomes King of Shugoddom. Has the star behind Gira, Mr. Sakai Taisei changed in any way?

Kaku: He's getting less nervous in public appearances. He'll still say "I'm so nervous!" even now, but he's getting better at relaxing into the role and just enjoy the show.

Hirakawa: The Taisei I saw is the one who's super nervous during filming.

Kaku: In the scene with Rainoir? 

Hirakawa: Yes! His lips turned purple (laughs). "It's method acting for the Land of Death!" he said, but I think he's just nervous. Recently, he seems to have accepted his role as the cute mascot.

Ikeda: Since I only joined the cast later as the sixth ranger, I haven’t seen his nervous era. But I see where you're coming from about him turning cute.

Hirakawa: When we used to call him cute, he'd say "There's no such thing!", now he just nods, "Um..."  (laughs)

Everyone: (laughs)

Ikeda: He might be somewhat happy to hear that.

Please tell us more about the main series as well. In Episode 16, Rita's past is revealed.

Hirakawa: I think through Episode 16, the audience can now feel Rita’s burden. Revisiting the past, we reaffirm Rita's resolve and sense of responsibility, as well as pushing forward in the mystery that is Fury of the Gods. This development will impact the TV series going forward.

How do you see the relationship between Rita and Morfonia?

In Episode 10, we saw a change in the relationship between each king and their aide. Rita also got somewhat closer emotionally with Morfonia. I believe the guard around Rita’s strained psyche has lowered a little. They won't have a heart-to-heart conversation just yet, but the distance between them has been shortening since. In real life, we are becoming closer friends as well, that will sure be a positive influence to our interaction in the story.

On the other hand, Kaguragi has a lot of mature bargaining that hide his true intentions with characters like Racules and his younger sister Suzume.

Kaku: It is fun to bargain with Racules. Yano-chan put his predictions of the future in his performance, I too kept that in mind and considered many aspects in my own. Suzume is both cute and a strategist, I find her duality interesting.

What if your character goes on a summer break?

Ikeda: Jeramie would sleep through it, wouldn't he? "What I thought was an afternoon nap, took a whole year. Happens to anybody." He did say that once... When he wakes up, it'd probably be winter. (laughs)

Everyone: (laughs)

Kaku: Kaguragi is a festival man. He'd for sure host a big summer festival in Toufu.

Hirakawa: Rita would just marathon "Together with Moffun", wouldn't they?

Kaku: Absolutely! Rita would rewatch every episode up to now.

Hirakawa: There are 4000 episodes, it'd be a miracle to finish it before the end of summer (laughs).

(laughs) Moffun is not slowing down with his merchandise release either.

Hirakawa: It's amazing, isn't it! Without a word you grew interested in its shape and voice. It's just that Rita's imitation is a little different though...

I think Rita's imitation of Moffun is adorable! At the end, please tell our readers the highlights of the movie.

Hirakawa: Surely it's being able to see a new side of Rita different from the one we know so far. Even the details in the background carries meaning, I would love for you to see it on the big screen, and two or three times if you can!

Kaku: The movie is presenting a whole new world, with imagery much grander than the ones in the TV series. The characters will face their pasts, and the audience can learn more about them as people. This is the part I find myself enjoying.

Ikeda: In a trip to the Land of Death, there is much to think about on each of the king's attitude and way of life. It adds another layer to the world of King-Ohger too. Please look forward to the movie.

アニメイトタイムズでは、シュゴッダム新国王の即位と映画公開を記念して、キャスト6人へのインタビューを2回にわたってお届け！　

本稿では、リタ・カニスカ／パピヨンオージャー役の平川結月さん、カグラギ・ディボウスキ／ハチオージャー役の佳久創さん、ジェラミー・ブラシエリ／スパイダークモノス役の池田匡志さんにお話を伺いました。

――映画『王様戦隊キングオージャー アドベンチャー・ヘブン』がいよいよ7月28日から公開されます。

リタ・カニスカ／パピヨンオージャー役 平川結月さん（以下、平川）：今回のリタは今までにない新たな一面を見せるので、映画の撮影は最初から最後まで新鮮でした。

カグラギ・ディボウスキ／ハチオージャー役 佳久創さん（以下、佳久）：映画では、カグラギの過去に触れるシーンもあります。今後の彼にとっても重要な話になりそうです。

ジェラミー・ブラシエリ／スパイダークモノス役 池田匡志さん（以下、池田）：エキストラの方々と一緒に撮影した戴冠式は、これまで以上に華やかで壮大なシーンになりました。

――デボニカ役・佐倉綾音さんをはじめとしたゲストキャストの方々も非常に豪華です。

池田：佐倉さんは、声の響き方が全然違いました。2人でお話したとき「王鎧武装」を実際に言っていただいて痺れました。

――佐倉さんの「王鎧武装」は格好良い雰囲気なんですか？

池田：迫力がすごくて、とても格好良かったです。

佳久：王様たちはクールに決めるからね。

平川：私は直接お会いしていない方もいるのですが、ライニオール役の中村獅童さんからは、そこにいるだけで威厳と強さが感じられました。現場が引き締まり「映画が始まるぞ！」という良い意味での緊張感が生まれていたと思います。

――映画ではついにギラがシュゴッダムの王になります。撮影開始からギラを演じる酒井大成さんの変化や成長を感じることはありますか？

佳久：公の場で緊張しなくなってきていますね。本人は今でも「緊張する」と言っていますけど、徐々に楽しめる余裕が出てきたんじゃないでしょうか。

平川：私は映画の撮影でド緊張している大成を見ちゃったけど（笑）。

佳久：ライニオールとのシーン？　　

平川：そう！　唇が紫だった（笑）。「死の国だから役づくり！」と言っていたけど、普通に緊張していたと思います。彼は最近、可愛いキャラを受け入れてきているんですよ。

池田：僕は追加戦士で途中から参加したので緊張している時期を見たことがないんですけど、可愛くなったのはとてもわかります。

平川：以前は可愛いと言うと「そんなことないよ！」と言っていたけど、今は「うーん……」って（笑）。

一同：（笑）

池田：どこか嬉しそうだよね。

夏休み中のリタは「もっふんといっしょ」を一気見する!?

――TVシリーズについても聞かせてください。第16話「10才の裁判長」では、リタの過去が明かされました。

平川：リタが抱えているものを、観ている方にも感じていただける内容だったと思います。過去を通じてリタの覚悟や責任感を再確認しましたし、大きな謎である「神の怒り」についても進展があったので、今後のTVシリーズに影響していきそうだなと思います。

――リタと側近であるモルフォーニャの関係性についてはどう見ていますか？

平川：第10話「伝説の守護神」で、各国の王と側近の関係性が変化するシーンがありました。モルフォーニャとも心の距離が若干縮まり、リタが張っていた心のバリアが少し減ったんじゃないでしょうか。話し合ったわけではないのですが、自然に距離感が近づいていると思います。リアルでも仲が深まっているので、作中の掛け合いにも良い影響が出ているはずです。　　

―― 一方でカグラギは、ラクレスや妹のスズメと本音を隠した大人な駆け引きが多いですね。

佳久：ラクレスとのやり取りは楽しいです。矢野ちゃん（ラクレス・ハスティー役・矢野聖人さん）も今後の展開を予想しながら演じていて、僕もそれを受けて色々考えながら演じています。スズメは可愛らしさと策略家の顔があって、その二面性がとても面白いと思っています。

――TVシリーズの今後も非常に楽しみです！　ちなみに、もし自身が演じるキャラクターに夏休みがあったらどのように過ごしていると思いますか？

池田：ジェラミーは寝ているのではないでしょうか。「昼寝のつもりが1年経ってたなんて、ザラさ」と言っていたので……。多分起きる頃には、冬になっていると思います（笑）

一同：（笑）

佳久：カグラギはお祭り男だと思うので、トウフで盛大な祭りを開催しそうです。

平川：リタは「もっふんといっしょ」を一気見するのではないでしょうか。

佳久：確かに！　これまでの話をおさらいしてそうだね。

平川：4000話もあるから、夏休みで観終わるかは怪しいですが（笑）。

――（笑）。もっふん��アニメやグッズの展開も盛り上がっています。

平川：すごいですよね！　何とも言えないフォルムと声がお気に入りです。リタが真似しているのは少し違うのですが……。

――リタが真似するもっふんも可愛いと思います！　最後に公開を楽しみにしている読者に向けて、映画の見どころを教えてください。

平川：やはりこれまで見せていなかったリタの新たな側面を楽しみにしていただきたいです。背景の細かい部分まで意味が込められていて、大きなスクリーンで観たら、吸い込まれそうになるくらい物語に入り込めると思います。時間に余裕があれば、2回、3回と観てほしいです！

佳久：映画では全く新しい世界が登場して、TVシリーズ以上の壮大な映像が見られます。キャラクターが過去の因縁に向き合うシーンは、それぞれの深掘りにもなっているので、個人的にも観るのが楽しみです。

池田：死の国へ行くことで王様たちの在り方や生きる意味など、色々考えさせられることがあると思います。『王様戦隊キングオージャー』の世界をより一層楽しめるので、ぜひご覧ください！

having too many villain!fran thoughts

thinking about how fran is captured by dai shi and they pull an astronema/tenaya and turn her evil

thinking about the pent-up resentment fran has from being mistreated by the rangers at jkp, having to forsake a lot of her time and body to their effort without anything outside of a measly thank you. going from having to hold things down for them while they fight to now being one of their most dangerous foes from being brainwashed into running on pure rage

thinking about fran having an owl spirit that gets awakened when she becomes a villain, causing her to be even more formidable because she can fly and swoop in on them without warning. even rj isn't safe from this despite mastering the swoop technique

thinking about fran's villain armor being based off of a knight (something something "night owl" pun)

thinking about how fran no longer addresses the rangers by their names, she simply refers to them by their titles (it breaks rj's heart when she only refers to him as 'wolf master' or 'violet ranger')

thinking about fran forming a bond with camille; both of them adore their bosses but feel mistreated by them; however, while rj does it unintentionally, dai shi is intentionally callous, remorseless, and uncaring. the two of them have heart-to-hearts while in the woods together during patrols, and it's fran who lingers in camille's mind once she departs, since fran is the first character to come out and understand what camille's going through

thinking about how rj is absolutely restless until he gets fran back; he's very aware that his and the rangers' neglect facilitated this, and they all feel guilty and want to make it up to her, but he feels exceptionally guilty because he and fran were not only each others' first and best friends since he came to ocean bluff, but he was the boss of the team and he never put in much effort to check on her. he now realizes how terribly they've fucked up and that they can't just get her back, they have to treat her right when she actually comes back.

thinking about how dangerous of a villain fran is, not just because of her animal spirit but due to the sheer amount of intel she has about where the rangers work and live; she could easily have the rin shi swarm them and destroy them by catching them off-guard, but she chooses to put off that plan until later

thinking about fran fighting rj one on one and him absolutely refusing to hurt her; not only would using his wolf spirit be exactly what she wants, he'd rather be put through hell and die than hurt her, and he'd be willing to take a million beatings if it meant he could get her back. at first fran thinks of this as him having a terrible judge of character (no wonder lily got it into her head that she could help camille, she berates him for this), but in reality, he's determined to right his (and the other rangers') wrongs and shower his girlfriend with the affection and appreciation she deserves but was never given

thinking about how camille would feel betrayed and jealous upon seeing how forgiving fran is and how apologetic rj is; betrayed because of how she felt she & fran had bonded and understood one another so well only for her to go back to the one they called "enemy", and jealous of how much rj adored fran to the point where he was willing to acknowledge how terribly he and the team treated her and that it wouldn't happen again, knowing that dai shi would never be that considerate towards her despite having devoted her life to him

thinking about how this entire experience has fran consider the way she bottles up her emotions and doesn't feel like she's able to express herself to the extent that she wishes, especially with her tendency to simply absorb neglect like due to her shyness and low self-worth. she encourages herself to be more open about her emotions because she doesn't wish to let her negative emotions build up and eventually turn her into that same monster again with dai shi's influence

thinking about how, knowing that she has an animal spirit she can utilize in combat, fran could hone her skills and perhaps even join her friends amongst the ranger ranks. for now, they work to treat her as someone just as important to their family, with or without an animal spirit or colored spandex

thinking about fran, all the time. every day. how she deserved so much more and was given so little.

Summary: On a random day at BuzzBlast you decide to call your boyfriend, Javi, weird names as a prank and later on in the week he gets you back.

A/N: This fic is based on these videos.

It's a normal day at BuzzBlast, so you walk to your boyfriend, Javi, who was at his desk and called him weird names.

"Good morning, my buttery croissant." You said in a funny voice as you stood behind him. Javi gave you a 'really?' look, and you giggled. After a few seconds, he looked up at you and said with a straight face as he spoke in French,

"Oui Oui baguette."

You laughed at his reaction. An hour or so later, you walked over to Javi, who was making coffee.

"Hello, my little Yankee Candle." You smiled, hugging him from behind.

"Hi, sweetheart," Javi replied.

"Hi." You mumbled, kissing his cheek.

"How are you?" He asked.

"Good." You say in a baby voice.

"Am I a pinewood candle?" He joked. You laughed again, and he smiled.

You saw Javi sitting on one of the couches later on and walked over.

"How's my baby..." you asked, playing with his hair.

"You called me 'baby'." He smiled.

"Hippo. How's my baby hippo?" You added. Javi gave you an annoyed look as he moved away from you.

"No." You state to him while laughing.

You were now at Javi's house, sitting on the couch while he was in his room writing a song.

"Where's my blob fish? How's he doing?" You called out to him as you giggled silently. He poked his head out from the side of the door and looked at you as he spoke.

"You know, blobfish have feelings, too." Javi sassed, pretending to be mad at you.

It's been six days, and you've been calling Javi weird names non-stop, so he decided to get you back.

"Hi, my baby boo bear," Javi smirked, kissing your neck playfully as you made something to eat.

"No." You whined as soon as you figured out what he was doing.

"What's wrong, Love Bug?" He chuckled.

"Oh my god, Javi, stop." You whined again.

"No, I will not, my lil ketchup packet." He answered.

Sleep Token X D&D

An expansion of this post because je suis trés unhinged and I miss playing DnD. I'm not including homebrew content for simplicity sake, guiding myself through this website. Feel free to add or change as you will. I'll leave some links for each class specs in case you wanna read more, or aren't super familiar with it.

At first it would make sense for all of them to be different types of Warlocks or Sorcerers, with Sleep as their common patron. BUT I think that would be an easy cop-out, and I want to make things interesting. This is just my headcanon so yeah, don't mean, don't be weird. Let me know how you'd do it!!

(and if there are any DnD players who happen to come across this post and want to take inspiration on it, you're more than welcome to do so!)

Vessel

Race: Tiefling. A lot of room for inventiveness here, and you can change his appearance as you'd prefer. Maybe that's why he's always cloaked and masked. Maybe he gets even more disfigured every time he connects with Sleep. Class/Sub-Class: Warlock, The Great Old One (mysterious entity whose nature is utterly foreign to the fabric of reality). Obviously Sleep would be his patron. I like to think Vessel had an encounter with Sleep whilst not knowing who or what They were, and eventually became their servant. For the pacts, I had thought of Pact of the Tome, where the Book of Shadows would be his lyrics, but Pact of the Talisman is also great, because of the mask. @a-s-levynn had suggested The Fathomless for his sub-class, which is also AMAZING, especially if you want to lean into the whole tentacle/water horror aesthetic. Alternatively, Sorcerer, Divine Soul is an EXCELENT class for Vessel (actually, now that I'm editing this, I kinda prefer this one lmao). Read this and tell me this isn't exactly what Vessel is: Sometimes the spark of magic that fuels a sorcerer comes from a divine source that glimmers within the soul. Having such a blessed soul is a sign that your innate magic might come from a distant but powerful familial connection to a divine being. Perhaps your ancestor was an angel, transformed into a mortal and sent to fight in a god’s name. Or your birth might align with an ancient prophecy, marking you as a servant of the gods or a chosen vessel of divine magic. Yeah.

Race: Lightfoot Halfling (yes I'm making him a hobbit, what about it?) Fire Genasi is also very apt. Class/Sub-Class: Druid, Circle of Wildfire (these druids bond with a primal spirit that harbors both destructive and creative power, allowing the druids to create controlled flames that burn away one thing but give life to another). This primal spirit, of course, would be Sleep. They are a bit of a mysterious entity. ii was the hardest to come up with. I knew I wanted him to be somehow connected to the land/elements, because I think that would be the best translation for his rhythmic prowess (drums wouldn't make much sense as a Bard). And that photo of him with the painted red fingertips reminds me of fire, so it seemed like a perfect fit. Some other alternatives: Druid, Circle of Dreams or Monk, Way of the Four Elements (monk would be SO good because of his silence, like LoZ Link, and the ability to harness his energy).

Race: Obviously a Dark Elf. Obsidian-black polished skin, pale blond hair, pale blue eyes, slim figure. Need I say more? Earth Genasi could also be a good option, due to his golden vein-like paint. Class/Sub-Class: Ranger, Fey Wanderer (a ranger who represents both the mortal and the fey realms. As you wander the multiverse, your joyful laughter brightens the hearts of the downtrodden, and your martial prowess strikes terror in your foes, for great is the mirth of the fey and dreadful is their fury.) I quite like this because the options of how you acquire the magic are endless, and can be traced to Sleep or even Vessel (maybe he granted them?). iii is our favourite chaotic boy, but he can be so intimidating at times, this one plays off his duality quite well. Plus you get Otherworldly Glamour similar to iv which makes sense. A cool alternative could be Sorcerer, Wild Magic, as it has a similar base to Vessel and it draws magic out of chaos.

Race: I thought about making him a Genasi or Half-Elf, but honestly I love him as a Human. I just love the idea that this human is sooo charming and talented, that even all these supernatural creatures can't help but be enthralled by him. Changeling or even Eladrin could also work. Class/Sub-Class: Bard, College of Glamour (these bards are so eloquent that a speech or song that one of them performs can cause captors to release the bard unharmed and can lull a furious dragon into complacency). I like that iv appears to be super low-key, but is actually insanely seductive (I see you mask pulling) and talented. So out of all of them, he was my obvious choice for a bard.

The Vesselettes

I think they could either be sort of like a greek chorus or muses but for Sleep, that appeared at key moments to help the party, or actual campaign members. Race: Aetherborn Class/Sub-Class: Clerics, Twilight Domain (The twilit transition from light into darkness often brings calm and even joy, as the day's labors end and the hours of rest begin. The darkness can also bring terrors, but the gods of twilight guard against the horrors of the night). It would be awesome to have them as healers and protectors of the party, who serve Sleep directly (if Sleep is evil, they could also be secret spies? To make sure the party does as Sleep intents). Or maybe they are protecting the party from Sleep (they can never sever their connection to them, but they will do everything they can to make sure the vessels won't go too far).

I'm not sure how they would all get together, but my [abridged] story would place them all as servants of this magical deity, called Sleep. Vessel was the first to encounter Them and lives as an actual, living vessel for them. They believe that Sleep, albeit mysterious, is a benevolent creature, who was wrongfully cast away from Their plane/stripped of their powers or divinity.

As the one closest to Sleep, Vessel can sense that something isn't quite right, but he's already so entangled and manipulated by them, that he doesn't even care.

So they fight all these people and creatures, believing they're doing something Good, but then it turns out that Sleep was evil all along? The people they have conquered and killed were actually good, trying to stop them from giving this awful, terrible being their power.

Sleep basically uses them to defeat their enemies and get back to whatever place or power they no longer have access to. Maybe the vessels turn their back on them? Maybe Vessel doesn't want to and they fight with each other? Or maybe they just keep serving Sleep?

Or, you know, Sleep could also be an actual helpful deity, and they are genuinely doing good by fighting in Their name. But maybe in the end Vessel can't let go of Them and drama ensues and everybody cries.

I don't know, this is just an idea. I spent WAY too much time researching for this, but it was fuuun. I love talking DnD.
