Metabonds (or Metaphysical Bonds) is a term I came up with that basically encompasses all consensual (emphasis on CONSENSUAL) bonds or relationships one can have with a spirit, entity or egregore.

These relationships can range from PLATONIC (e.g. mentor/menteeship, patronageship, acquaintancships etc.), FAMILIAL (soul parentage, soul adoptionship and even considering a spirit/entity/egregore to be a familial/parental figure) and DEVOTIONAL (devotee/practitioner and the spirit/entity/egregore they've devoted their life, work and practice to (whether permanently or for a specific amount of time) bonds.

To WORKING/PROFESSIONAL (working/helper relationships, where the spirit/entity/egregore helps you with a spell, a specific task, path, project etc. and priesten/oracle hood), ROMANTIC (18+ ONLY (romantic spousalship and boyfriend/girlfriend (or whatever you identify as) type of relationship)) and SEGGSUAL/INTIMATE (18+ ONLY (seggsual/intimate spousalship, seggsual/intimate relationships (like F.W.B, D/S etc.) and so on)) bonds.

These bonds are NOT for MINORS. A lot of these bonds, especially working/professional (specifically when it comes to priesten/oraclehood), romantic and seggsual/intimate bonds require consent and to LEGALLY and ETHICALLY consent to ANYTHING, you need to be EIGHTEEN or OLDER.

You can also THINK about possibly offering some of these bonds to the spirit/entity/egregore only AFTER you're of age, you and the spirit/entity/egregore have a strong bond and it's a direction BOTH you and the spirit/entity/egregore are interested in moving your relationship in). Don't force anyone or anything into anything they don't want to do and don't allow anyone to force YOU into anything you don't want to do. Respecting their boundaries is just as important as them respecting YOUR boundaries.

NO MINOR is allowed to participate in any of these relationships and practices at all! Wait until you're eighteen or older before even considering going down this path only after it's been CLEARLY hinted at and CONFIRMED that it might be a path you'll walk in whether now or in the future. This is not a path you can walk down if you're not mentally, emotionally, spiritually or physically prepared for it.

It’s ok to have a bit of a crush on your deities.

Like hello they’re beings that accept you for who you are, love you and appreciate you, are always there for you, and let’s be real a bunch of them are pretty as fuck. Why WOULDN’T someone have a crush on them? If you can have a parental, best friend, sibling, or even just strictly devotee/deity like relationship, then why would it be wrong to have a bit of a crush?

Of course, no god will be going after anyone underage. Like hello they’re deities, they know that’s wrong. But who didn’t have a bit of a crush on an older celebrity or something as a teen? They’ll just see it as ‘aw, that’s cute’ the way we see kittens and puppies cute, something that’s endearing and sweet, and leave it at that, as any responsible adult would. Maybe they’ll gently tell you change your perspective if they’re seeking a different dynamic with you. And that’s ok.

I’m no expert on godpartnering or anything like that, but the fact it’s even a thing means deities have been knowing about us mortals getting all heart eyed for them for centuries. I promise you it’s nothing they haven’t seen before.

So yes, it’s ok to be a little giddy and leg-kicking for your deities. It’s totally normal for someone who experiences a romantic kind of attraction to have feelings. We all have feelings. The gods know that.

I saw a post recently discussing this topic, and I wanted to mention that it's ok if a deity reaches out to you first (and early on) about having a romantic relationship. It doesn't make you hubristic. It doesn't mean that you have to making it all up because why would a deity want to be with you? It doesn't mean the deity favors you over other worshippers.

Sometimes deities are just the ones to make the first move, just in general. I've had it happen before to me, actually.

I do want to add that it's ok to decline their offer, by the way. You are not obligated to accept just because they're a god. Deities are mature beings and have lived for thousands upon thousands of years; they have been rejected before and know how to handle such situations maturely. Your life isn't going to be ruined or cursed just because you told a deity that you're not interested. Obviously, be respectful about it, but please do not fret about the "consequences" too much. You're also welcome to say that you're simply not ready yet but are interested in looking into it in the future.

I was just studying with some dragon's blood incense lit and noticed the smoke was kind of staying it one spot until I felt a very warm and familiar change of energy and it became a beautiful consistent stream which ended up alerting me to the presence of Ipos. We flirted a bit and I've now come to the conclusion that there's nothing I'd love more than a pendant with his sigil on it, although due to the fact that the sigils in the lesser key of solomon have a lot of problematic history, I am instead opting to get a pendant of a mallard, which is what I associate him with UPG-wise. basically i saw the term "godspouse" online and not knowing what it was at the time i started doing some research into it. i spent some time over a couple days researching and while i was doing the research i noticed Apollo was always present. anytime i was reading about godspousing in any way, he was there at my side. i eventually got the hint and asked him in several ways (pendulum, tarot cards, etc etc) if he wanted that kind of relationship with me. every way i asked i always got a yes, so i spent some time thinking about it and if i wanted that kind of relationship and ended up deciding that i did

we've been together for almost two years now and im very happy in the relationship :)

Can you give advise for someone who is romantically interested in Deity? Like, I am pretty sure it's mutually, so what should we discuss or take to attention? Thank you for your answer!

Awesome question!!!! There are a few things you'll need to do before discussing godspousal with a deity.

1: research! Do NOT forget to look at personal experiences, but also verified facts. You'll want to search for the history of devoting yourself to a deity, the history of oaths, the history of spousal itself, and experiences to do with godspousal. You'll also want to research the deity themselves. For example, Artemis doesnt accept spousalship because she is a virgin goddess. She has never, and will never, have a partner. I can provide links for research if needed!

2: signs! Look at the signs that your deity is offering spousal. These can be symbolism of the deity, dreams, spousal being brought up in conversation, etc.

3: confirmations! Please get at least five confirmations (although I recommend 10) that your deity is offering spousal. Do NOT bring up spousal unless the majority of your confirmations are a yes (for example, 4/5 or 8/10 "yes"). Confirmations can be found on etsy, and I am also offering them currently! You can DM me for a reading any time 💖

When you have done all of this, you can speak with your deity about the spousalship. Ask them what their boundaries are, what they need from you, and tell them your own boundaries and needs. This is a give-and-take thing! It isn't just about your deity. Additionally, if you are unsure (or you don't want to do spousal), you are allowed to say no, and it's okay to wait. You don't have to jump in right away.

If you decide to start the process of spousalship, first of all, congratulations!! This is a very big deal. During this time, you'll start the process called courting. Courting is where you go through tests and do certain activities to determine your compatibility with the deity. This will be a long, and sometimes difficult, process. You can always call off courting if you are unwilling to move forward! Many people recommend at least six months of courting before you complete actual spousalship. I'm trying for at least a year with my spouse!

Completing spousalship is a whole different story, but I won't explain that here. This post is already long enough!!

For Godspousing and Spirit Partners

These are frequently used on our 4-year-old godspousing discord, some were developed / coined there, some are terms with existing history.

Otherpartner

general term for an entity who is your romantic, s*xual, or otherwise intimate partner, where intimate does not include familial intimacy

can be applied to any entity (spirits, ghosts, heroes) not solely deities

useful when discussing groups, i.e. "What does your Otherpartner like?" when directed at multiple people.

capitalization is up to the user, but I find sometimes it differentiates Otherpartner as intentional word combination versus otherpartner as a typo

Compersion

a preexisting term - search for other definitions!

joy felt in polyamorous (or non monogamous) relationships when your partner is intimate with another person

applicable to godspousing due to shared partners and inherent polyamorous nature of god-relationships

Godbothered

preexisting internet term that refers to being "bothered" by a deity, in the simplest terms

although "bothered" can have negative associations on its own, godbothered is/was originally a neutral term

godbothering is commonly associated with the sense that Something/Someone is trying to get your attention, via divination, any of the "clairs" (seeing, hearing, sensing outside of IRL), or through media / social media

the term seems to be most commonly associated with tumblr pagans, where godbothering can occur through "dashomancy", where it is presumed the bothering god in question puts repeated signs/symbols on your dash (feed) to get your attention; the veracity of dashomancy is up for debate due to algorithm interference

Godbothered is often just a way to say, "I feel like something wants my attention and I don't know who or what yet" rather than any specific stigmatized/irritating actions

Is it possible to be godspoused/godpartnered to Solace? Keep in mind that godspousing isn't inherently romantic or intimate and many gods spouse to "stake their claim" in other ways such as in a familial sense or if one is their high priest/priest/Oracle/seer/etc.

If the answer is yes then, out of these, how is it possible to be spoused to Solace?

Devotionally, romantically, sexually, queerplatonically, platonically, famillialy.

Adhara! Oh, how we missed you dearly, welcome back! Poor Seraphina, getting so shy... And about your question... It is indeed possible to be godspoused to Solace, however it is extremely rare and hy only does it when hy receives our approval. Possible ways include devotionally, platonically, and famillialy. We have not and will not allow hym to spouse in any other way, as that kind of affection is reserved for us and us alone.

Edit: We've since changed our views a tad. In addition to the same ways as The Doctor, we allow sexual godspousing for Calypso as well. The Saboteur still remains loyal and faithful to us, of course, and we both view it more akin to a consensual "harem" of sorts. @theangeliclibrarian
