I've been looking through my screenshots from inquisition and stumbled across this. The art book confirmed that they had planned to have Cole as a compassionate voice for Solas, but seeing this made my chest hurt even more.

#they had it planned from the beginning :(#it's such a shame we didn't get this in the game #and those are just empty words now #they probably planned to allow us to import more decisions from previous games but cut it down to three #so they had to abandon this idea because there were people who had cole become more human #god it hurts #dragon age inquisition #dragon age the veilguard #cole #solas #i'm not sure if i should tag this post as veilguard critical #it's not really critical i think?
