Head in hands. Ratchet can't see, but carries the lantern anyway because it's not for him, it's for everyone else. He can't see, so when he shines it towards the mechs approaching him, this is for them to see better in the dark forest. He can't see, so he makes sure everyone who might need him can see him. It was never about him, it was about what he does for others.

Rung here actually knows he's God, but can't perform divine miracles. Although he can and does know things he's not supposed to know. Also, ironically, he knows everything Ratchet did after he blinded himself because Ratchet was carrying his spark around with him the whole time. u guys don't fuck with soulless sam the way I do like that is my princess. oh the clean mechanical precision oh the animal boredom. I love his confused artificial attempts at gentleness. he's asking too many questions he's making everyone uncomfortable he literally cannot lose an argument bc his masculine rationality points are maxed out. and he humiliates everyone just by doing what they tell him to like he's soooo good at playing his role it breaks the game. bitches hate me bc I shattered the facade. it's more than just 'sam but evil' it's an earnest attempt to reconstruct the patterns of empathy without context. he only starts to thrash when he realizes it'll never be enough. and it does genuinely break my heart watching him beg dean not to shove his soul back in. I honestly should look at references more, I wing a lot of stuff when drawing, just going with what I remember and what feels right. How your own body feels, how your joins, your arms, your fingers bend. How other people draw things, from very realistic details to very simplified.
