To an extent I agree. However, there was one individual human the Emperor loved. One being in the whole galaxy the Emperor considered a friend. One person the Emperor trusted more than any other.

Yeah but Tzeentch swapped out all the DVDs so it’s exclusively Dragonball GT and Boruto. In a rather helpful twist, the pain he goes through when watching them actually allows him to ignore the psychic agony of the throne for a while.

There are 2 brands of Fantasy: LotR & Dune

I love them both, for different reasons

LotR Fantasy is defined by a struggle between good and evil, with a happy ending. I love it because it makes me feel happy & safe. It gives me hope that things will end well

Dune Fantasy is defined by Grey Morality, and has bittersweet (or straight up miserable) endings. I love it because it makes me think. Both sides are fully justified in their point of view. I have to consider whether I agree with the Protagonist (God-Emperor Leto ii is a prime example. He does atrocious things, but only for the ultimate survival of humanity. Can I abide a self-admitted genocidal dictator for the greater good of humanity)

Do you think The Emperor or Malcador ever mourned the 2nd and 11th?

The Emperor seemed sorrowful when he fought Horus. "I forgive you and I will wait for you."

He seemed disturbed when Magnus turned traitor. He even hoped Mortarion would side with him.

I wonder if any small part of Neoth misses his lost Sons. I wonder if Malcador was tormented at having to mind wipe the remaining brothers.
