I can see why some disagree...but? I really DO think it's sad some fans veiw Gales ending in MJ as this attempt to make him some message from SC that people like him are evil and aweful because to me the masterful way Gale's story was handled as non-main character is missed out on.
Gales story was built up to be what it was, in a POSITIVE way, from the very first pages. We learn RIGHT away that he wants to rail agasint the Capitol, to help people be free of the suffering he's seen and expereinced. Katniss says this is so vital to him she lets him go on about it. We see right away where his passion is, what he wants. And the arch he goes through brings him to that exact place he wants.
Like ALL other characters, he looses so much as a price for that but he gets to enjoy that freedom. Gets to make that passion of his a reality.
And the fact his ending can't make fans as happy as Katniss and Peeta's bothers me sometimes.
Katniss useing spesific words like 'rage and hate' to desrible him espeaislly when it isn't in context where it seems like she is saying this in a negitive way (cause mind you...she says the same thing about herself in THE SAME BREATH and not in a 'oh look how horrible I am!' way either in fact I would say she says this in a very comfortable and confident way) should not discount that Gale got a very similar ending to every other character. To me the sad part is so many people seem to think this is somehow meant to mean the audiance should somehow take away that Gale is a bad person.
That was never the case: Gale was representing a different path, one Katniss didn't want. Nothing about that makes him out to be the bad guy, NOTHING does. He just isn't who Katniss wants romantically. And outside of that, he was able to achive what he wanted and find a life doing that. Which is something fans should celabrate I think!

the fact that Tokugawa industries actually had managed to achieve space travel to the point they just have shuttles ON HAND for whenever makes the fact he didn't take daichi or atlas to the moon himself at any point so much more fucked

Yknow I'm not sure I was ever "radicalised", more of, I watch The Young Ones (cliff Richard film) from a very young age and just really internalised the "all for one one for all united we stand divided we fall" message that they were really slamming home with having a group of "youths" fight tooth and nail to keep their space and actually succeed

Moving towards false goal always leaves the happiness in an illusory future. Achieving false goal brings disappointment and devastation, but not happiness. Your goal is what gives you real pleasure. It is't something that brings temporary satisfaction, but something that gives a sense of the joy of life. Your "door" is the way to move towards your goal, where you experience passion and inspiration. I don't say that everything is always easy there. The main thing is that the movement through your "door" doesn't devastate, but, on the contrary, causes a surge of strength.
False goal is always violence against oneself, coercion, obligation. If you find even the slightest coercive necessity in your goal, you can safely refuse it. You don't have to persuade yourself if the goal is yours. It is pleasant for you to go to your goal. The process of achieving it gives you pleasure. If you try to reach false goal, there are always so many obstacles. The path to false goal is always a struggle.
Also if you want to prove something to yourself and everyone by achieving whatever you want, then this is not your goal.

dont mind me im just gonna ramble as i think out loud:
While she’s not developed that much, Lucille definitely has the potential to be an interesting character: While she can be a bit lighthearted(? that’s not the right word) and such, at her core she’s very much determined to try and uphold Order to make sense of all the chaos in the world, & to maintain some form of an Earth-like sense of stability and normalcy that Sannikov seems to lack. Lucille views Sannikov as a place of roiling chaos that will eventually destroy them if they don’t do anything about it; She specializes in containing dangerous events that occur throughout Sannikov, as well as shifting the blame for if the Bureau messes up.
She’s really trying to help the other Taken residents, as she cares about humanity. However, she doesn’t go about it the best way, and can come off as stubborn and distant. She also isn’t above using certain items and artifacts found within Sannikov to achieve her goals (kinda hypocritical tbh), or even lying to and/or manipulating others. She excuses her actions by claiming it’s all for the greater good- but she might just be saying that to try and absolve herself of guilt. (I think she’s just lowkey so scared all the time, maybe.)
It’s also possible she’s connected to whatever happened to Michael- did she cause his injury and/or memory issues? Were they on good terms before, if they knew each other? Does she care about him and is watching over him out of concern or is she merely observing his behavior? Either way these two are married, and Michael cares about her, but he’s kinda considering a divorce for multiple reasons (he feels as if she’s too distant, he’s kind of discovering he’s queer, etc)
