Joining the college after a depressive year to joining the college accelerator club, I never thought it would be so fun...
The flux to the speed and sound, the rhythm of air wave tingling my ear, to the success of following race lines... I could proudly say, I am the member of team TRIDENT, which is the well known GTU team leading the heights of the national events, Edgeline championship, Indian Karting Race, Formula kart design challenge to the upcoming Formula Student <Supra>.... I could proudly represent myself as The Woman Driver!
But behind the scene it takes so much?
All days practices, bodyworks design, CAD design, social media, B-plan presentation, and the scars into making.... It's worth it!
Following one of my bucket list goals, and more to continue. Year now, and year after, and to the Years following!

Men fucking scare me.
Now, some are going to go like, "it's not all men", " Are you also scared of your dad/brother/male relative?", "Another 'feminist' hating on men" and so on probably. Sure, it's not all men but it's always men.
I was scrolling insta when I came across a reel where a guy is complaining about how whenever there is a crime concerning a woman, we raise our voice and protest yet when there is a crime concerning a man, there is barely even news coverage. Which is certainly true and fair. But seriously, right now? Why is it that men always complain whenever people are trying to give justice to a poor victim girl?? I totally agree that whether men or women, all victims should get their justice but have some fucking sympathy instead of complaining?!?
Next, another reel where a lawyer guy was talking about women's safety laws and all, the comments? "Law for women, la*da for men". Well, why don't you go and take a look at the statistics? Maybe read the news daily, I mean the local one. Again, I'm NOT against men's safety, ofc no. It's just that, why can't men complain or raise their concerns without pulling the women with them? What do you want? The laws that are made for us (not that they're REALLY useful) to go nil??? Or what?? Equality? That is feminism. Fucking equality!! You don't hear a true feminist complaining, "why do men get paid more than us? Salary for men, chillar for women" or anything, instead it's "We want to get paid the same as that of a man." Again, I'm NOT speaking against men particularly, just the ones who feel enraged towards us just because we want to get treated as a human first, and equally.
I was talking to a guy friend and his attitude is, "Yeah what happened to her is TERRIBLE but hey, it's not like I can do anything about that? I would never do that and be a good person but that's all I can do, I can't tell the rapists that what they did was wrong and they'd too be like 'oh yes yes oops we did wrong' right?". Now, I do understand his perspective but sure a bit more sympathy and kindness won't hurt anyone?? He even has a sister!! And in the age of social media, anyone with a phone can contribute to some extent.
When I read the details of the case, my soul cried out. I can't even imagine her sorrow. Oh my goodness. My insides felt all queasy reading those gruesome details. All girls of all ages have almost experienced a bad incident with men. Harassment, molestation, abuse, assault, SOMETHING! So many cases everyday and so many more which don't even get registered. Rapes have become so common in India that unless and until it's something very gruesome, people don't even bother that much. It's always "What has it got to do with me" until it's someone you, someone who is close to you. 78 years of independence yet girls are still caged behind walls.
It's always "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao", Beti padh toh li lekin Beti bach nahi pai. Why is it always "Arre voh toh ladhka, voh toh aise he karega", Voh aisa kyu karega?!?
Why is that ladhkiyo ko mana karte hai raat mein bahar jaane ke liye because it's not safe for her, lekin ladhke puri raat awaaragardi kare, koi dikkat nahi.
Why can't we just teach boys to respect women? To not just respect women, but to respect everyone? The next person is a living being, is that not a good enough reason to not be cruel??

Driver Profiles: Sergio Perez
Hello, this is part of a series where I focus on one driver on the current (as of Oct 2024) grid and give an overview over their career and driving styles. I will be going in championship points order. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
Name: Sergio Michel "Checo" Pérez Mendoza
Age: 34
Nationality: Mexican
Years in F1: 14 (2011-2012 Alfa Romeo Sauber, 2013 Mclaren, 2014-2020 Force India/Racing Point, 2021-Present Red Bull)
Number: 11
WDCs: N/A
Driving Style: Perez is most well know for his patient and defensive driving style. He regularly is able to hold off stronger and faster cars behind him for extended periods of teams, meaning he holds position well and also is an asset while defending his teammate. Perez is also known to have great tire management skills, often patiently waiting until his rivals tires wear out before going on the attack with his better-maintained ones. He is also excellent in complex weather conditions, including full wet and wet-dry. A downside of Perez's style is that he struggles with consistency and setting a qualifying pace. He often is outpaced and out qualified by his teammates, especially his current one.
History:
Born not to a legacy racing family but involved in racing nonetheless, Perez began his karting career in 1996 when he was six years old. In his first year of competition he achieved four victories in the junior category and was 2nd in the standings as a rookie karter. In 1997, he participated in the Karting Youth Class, where he was the youngest driver in the category, and had a positive year, finishing 4th in the championship. The next year, in 1998, he would become the youngest driver to win the championship in that same category.
Tumblr media
(Perez in karting)
In 1999, he raced in the 80cc Shifter category, finishing 3rd in the championship. He actually was too young to race in this category, but obtained special permission to do so and was the youngest driver to achieve a win in the category. In 2000 he would go on to do much of the same, regularly being the youngest in the categories he race din. He would soon draw the attention of various sponsors and national racing organizations. The next few years of his career would yield similar positive results, though he did not win any titles.
In 2005 Perez moved from Mexico to Europe in order to compete in the German Formula BMW ADC Series. His first year in this series would not yield super positive results, but he would improve in the 2006 season, improving to 6th in the standings. In 2007 he would switch into Formula 3 for the first time. He competed in the National Class and would win his first title that year. In 2008 he would compete again, but only get 4th in the standings.
Tumblr media
(Perez racing in Formula BMW)
Pérez joined GP2 in 2008 for the GP2 Asia Series 2008-2009. He was the first Mexican driver to compete at this level of motorsport since Giovanni Aloi took part in International Formula 3000 in 1990. He would show significantly positive results in this series, bringing home multiple podium finishes and sprint race wins. 2009 he would switch to the main 2009 GP2 Series. Pérez finished 12th in the standings, with a best result of second coming at Valencia. His 2010 run in GP2 would be a lot better, ending the season 2nd in the standings.
Tumblr media
(Perez after a win in GP2)
Late 2010 it was announced by F1 team Alfa Romeo Sauber that Perez would be joining their team for the 2011 season. Through this, Perez became the 5th Mexican to compete in F1. During the time of the announcement, he also became a Ferrari Academy Driver. Perez had a relatively average rookie season with Sauber, finishing in points positions a few times. He would finish that year 16th in the standings after. bad crash knocked him out of three races. 2012 was a better year for Perez, as he achieved his first podium in Malaysia, and two more during the season. He finished the year in 10th, above his teammate.
Tumblr media
(Perez on first podium)
In 2013 Lewis Hamilton vacated the Mclaren seat and Perez was announced as his replacement, ending his relationship with the Ferrari Driver's Academy. He would have a middling year withe Mclaren, his highest finish being 4th. He would also have friction with teammate and WDC Jenson Button, who described his driving style as 'overlyaggressive'. Perhaps this is why later Perez evolved into a cautious and patient driver.
Tumblr media
(Perez, right, with Mclaren teammate Jenson Button)
In 2014 Perez would join Force India, and solidify himself as a midfield driver. For a majority of his career with the team he would be a steady driver, most often outpacing his teammates. He achieved a few podiums with them, but also had moments of disaster, famously suffering several crashes throughout his time. He outlasted the Force India name, and was retained when the team became Racing Point in 2019. He would achieve his first win with Racing Point at the 2020 Bahrain GP, an energetic race that allowed him to show his skill. All in all, his time with midfield teams yielded good results for him, often outperforming his teammates and pulling the car to higher positions than it should be. That year it was announced that he would be joining Red Bull for the 2021 season, replacing Alex Albon.
Tumblr media
(Perez after first win)
His time with Red Bull would be a mix of bad and good. During this time, he would regularly achieve podiums and a few wins. In 2021 he would finish 4th in the standings. While this was deemed a positive result, his teammate finished first and it put some scrutiny on Perez. 2022 saw Perez finish 3rd in the standings, behind his teammate in 1st and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. That would also be the year he achieved his maiden pole position, at the Jeddah GP. 2023 was his best year in F1, being one of few drivers to win a race that year other than Max Verstappen. He would finish 2nd in the standings behind Verstappen, and help Red Bull win another WCC. He would also help Red Bull win their first ever 1-2 in the championship.
Tumblr media
(Perez with teammate Verstappen, 2021)
2024 so far has been a mixed bag for Perez. While he has achieved multiple podiums, he has also regularly qualified and placed multiple positions behind his teammate. This performance has led to speculation that Perez would be removed from Red Bull half way through the year, or in the 2025 season. The speculation was put to rest when Red Bull announced a contract extension through 2025 with Perez.
Tumblr media
(Perez on the podium at the 2024 Austria GP)
Major Races:
2012 Malaysian GP - Perez's highest finish of his career then, and his first pole position. He displayed excellent tire management, completing a long stint and maintaining a competitive pace.
2014 Bahrain GP - His first podium with Force India. Perez displayed his famous defensive driving, holding off much faster cars for the entire race.
2020 Bahrain GP - Perez's first win in his last year with Racing Point. He had the greatest comebacks in his career, after being spun to the back of the grid. It was a remarkable race as he battled his way to 1st, and is the race that won him His Red Bull seat.
2021 Baku GP - His first win with Red Bull. Baku would become a track that he is known for competing well around. He held off Lewis Hamilton (who was fighting his teammate for the championship) the whole race. Many attribute his win in Baku as a major part of Verstappen's first WDC.
2022 Monaco GP- Monaco is famously a tricky circuit, and he raced extremely strategically, outmaneuvering both Ferrari's to win. It was also yet another race where Perez showed his skill in wet-dry conditions.
Alright, that's all for Perez! Up next is Fernando Alonso.
Cheers,
-B

Austria 2019
-The Styrian hills are so pretty!!
-Charles and Max front row!!
-“Sebastian Vettel couldn’t run because of a mechanical problem in Q3”
He had a mechanical issue in qualifying for Germany too I think. What is with his Ferrari??
-Why are we calling the Force India, Racing Points now??
-“Feels like the hottest race I’ve ever taken part it” damn, should I predict tire problems?
-“Lando Norris was what- one year old when Kimi Raikkonen made his debut here? They start alongside each other today” That’s so cool
-“Verstappen gets an awful start” Ohmygod he got passed by like three cars. That was horrifying
-Charles flew off though
-Not three cars, he got passed by more than three cars. How did this happen??
-Charles just put such a big gap between him and the second car now
-“Started second, now seventh” I will cry. What the hell is an anti-stall?
-Charles setting a fastest lap. The contrast between these two right now
-“Norris didn’t look at all phased wheel to wheel with Lewis Hamilton. That bodes well for him into the future” yes it does
-Also I forgot where Carlos started but seeing him in p15 is unsettling
-“Max Verstappen has lost more positions in the first lap today, than the previous 14 races combined” oh
-Ohmygod Lando almost got pushed off the track by Sebastian Vettel
-Aah they’re going wheel to wheel. He almost got back that position too
-The orange crowd in the grandstands look like minions
-“The iceman gave Verstappen the whole freezer to himself there” I-
-Magnussen getting a drive through penalty :/
-“Tell me when to start pushing” Charles…are you not, already pushing?
-Lap 23, drivers coming in to box now
-Bad stop for Sebastian :( (He’s down to p7 now)
-“Tires are good. Tires are still good” Lewis is having a good race then
-Aah why did Kimi pit now, he’s p15
-“Decent pit stop for him” I forgot he’s not in a top team anymore 😭
-I’m surprised Red Bull hasn’t pitted yet
-Oh Lewis trying to overcut Valterri
-Lando and Pierre stopping now
-Okay why do all of these look like very bad stops
-Going to enjoy both Daniel and Nico being in the points for the next few laps before they inevitably lose that
-I kind of like this light blue livery on the Mercedes
-I don’t know how but Lewis has a damaged front wing. That’s definitely going to hinder his pit stop time
-“The chase is on now for Hamilton against Vettel” Or it would have been but Max just came out between them
-Charles back to leading the race
-Carlos and Daniel have been on the same tires for 35 laps now
-“Lick the envelope and send it down the inside”Daniel! It’s so cool how he’s able to fend off Lando with those old tires
-Carlos finally pitting, going back to p14
-How is Daniel still out?
-“Lando if you can, just hold Ricciardo in your DRS. Hold him to allow him to have DRS, as long as he can’t pass” “What like, forever?” Hahaha
-Unfortunately that play by McLaren didn’t work out, Pierre has gotten past Daniel now
-Daniel really needs to pit soon
-“Come on mate, let’s get it done. Let’s get it” Watching young Max go up against experienced drivers is always such a treat. You just have to hold your breath the whole time
-“Get it boy.” “Yes boy come on” Haha, that was really good
-Sebastian pitting?? Now it’s him chasing Lewis
-✨Carlos back in points✨
-“Oh I’m losing power. Guys?!” Aaaaah no!!
-Getting directions to push buttons with different numbers while driving at intense speeds would throw me off the edge
-Ah yes Max!! Let’s go!! Back to p2!!
-“Verstappen! There’s no stopping him today”
-“Haha yes” “Alright this is game on”
-This is the most radio I’ve heard between Max and GP in a while
-“They’ve got history of course, back in the karting days. Only 16 days apart” My favorite emotional support rivals
-“I’m sure they will absolutely relish a battle like that, if it comes to fruition at the end of this race” Inchident pt2?!
-Ohmygod is this _the_ race? The race after which they unfollowed each other???
-“But I am expecting three happy drivers on the podium for once” I’m so sorry Martin
-“Here’s the glimpse of the future of f1. The youngest ever front row”
-“Verstappen’s now caught sight of him” Let’s go let’s go let’s go
-“Blistering pace Max, keep it up mate” GP has been the man this whole race. So many encouragements
-“Can Charles Leclerc win his first Grand Prix, or will Max Verstappen deny him that?”
-“He’s right behind him, the last man to beat Mercedes in a Grand Prix, the old dominating Mercedes-Benz in 2018” ”And if Leclerc’s going to do this, he’s going to fend off a mighty adversary”
-“Verstappen behind 1s” “Leave me alone” Valid
-“Bravo Charles Leclerc, that was brilliant defending” Honestly there’s no one like Charles when he’s defending from Max
-Aaaah Max!!!! “Max Verstappen has just sent Holland into ruptures!”
-The way everyone talks about this incident- it was less dramatic than they make it sound. I thought he ran into him on purpose or something
-“It’s one, two, three, four, five…six! victories in formula 1 for Max Verstappen!”
-“Max you drove a might race. You are the man. I mean, what a race, we are so proud of you”
-“You and Charles certainly did him [Niki Lauda] proud”
-“It’s hard racing otherwise you have to stay home” He has never changed
-It’s hilarious that Valterri is the one sharing this podium
-Max pointing at the Honda logo in the end was so cute
-Going to go watch Charles win his first race now. I’m expecting karma to come for Max there cause that’s how the lore between these two seems to work

Carlos Sainz Jr - It's Always Been You
Requsted: on wattpad
Prompt: Y/n and Carlos were friends but when they become more competitive it turns into bickering etc
Warnings: nada
Tumblr media
Carlos Sainz and Y/n Y/l/n. They had known eachother their entire lives. Their father's were both racers and childhood friends and theur mother's were friend too before they met the drivers. Naturally, they spent a lot of time with the eachothers family, even though she lived in Barcelona and he lived in Madrid. They visited each other for the weekends but then things started to change when they were eight. She began karting and so did Carlos. Now, for the first few races they were friends and they got along fine, but then then during the last race of the season, he cut her off and she went spinning, making her lose the championship and ended with Carlos winning it.
She stormed up to Carlos after the race. She threw the helmet at his feet. "You son of a bitch!" A gasp escaped her mother. "Y/n! Language." She yelled. "You took my championship! You made me spin out!" Her father grabbed her hand. "No! You just aren't good at racing! Girls cannot race and I tried to tell you but you wouldn't listen! Girls.cant.race!" The statement felt like a stab to the heart. Tears poured down her cheeks as she ran by him to hide under the table in my tent. She had worked so hard for this, she worked so hard only to end up crying. Carlos walked in and knew she'd be under the table, it had been her go to when escaping family. "I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't have done that. I think I forgot what I was doing and just-" he slapped his two hands together, indicating them colliding. "Yeah." She sniffed. "It was dumb. You shouldn't have done that." He put his arm around her shoulder as a form of comfort. "I won't do it again. I promise. Oh, and-" he paused taking something. "you left your helmet." She believed his promise. She shouldn't have but shs believed it.
Formula Renault. Y/n was about to become the first girl to win the competition. Final three corners of the final lap, he bumped into her rear wheel and off she spun. There was nothing she could have done to save the car, she could only brace herself. She felt the front get hit, then the back and that was it. The car came skidding to a stop. She un buckled herself and hopped out of the car without a scratch. Y/n took her helmet off and walked back to my team. Carlos was up on the podium with the Spanish anthem baliring. She stormed over to the tent again and booted the helmet across the ground. "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! It's always the fucking same with this sneaky bastard!" Y/n was finally done with him and his stupid promises.
Her first race in Formula 1. She wasn't the first woman in formula one but was still a woman none the less. Y/n was driving along the straight of Australia in 2016 and yet again, that pesky Madridsta hit the car but this time, it took both of then out of the race. She hopped out, actually finished with him now. She was not going to pretend like it just happens. He was out of his car, observing the damage and taking off his gloves. He turned around to be faced with her, the small catalán girl, in a Force India suit, about to rip his head off. "What's your fucking problem?" He was speechless. "Do you have a problem with me at all? If so just say it so I can stop trying to be nice to you."
"Why would I have a problem with you?" he asked, scratching the back of his ear. "You are fucking joking! You always hit me off the track! Now look! Karma is a bitch isn't she?" She threw her arms up in the air. "I didn't mean to-" she shushed him by placing her finger on his lips. "No, no, no. I'm in a silver, orange and green car in the middle fo the day! You can't miss it! You made a promise when we were eight that you would stop crashing into me and here we are again Carlos!" He still doesn't say anything. "Just come find me when you want to talk because I'm not doing this right now!" She tried to walk away but he grabs her hand to pull me back. "Get off me!"
"No. We are talking now." He leans into my ear. "The cameras are on. Just pretend at least." She scoffs and walk away with him reluctantly. "Explain why you won't stop being a douchebag." She says coldly. "Ooh. That hurt. It's almost as if you haven't called me that before." he replied in a mocking tone. In all honesty, she had called him that a couple of times but it was true. "Yeah? Well don't feed the bullshit excuse of 'I didn't mean to, I didn't see you' cause that what you always say and I played along but now I'm in Formula one! You can't miss my car! Look at it Carlos!" he looked back at the car stranded. "That wasn't my excuse this time."
"Aha, but you had an excuse!" She laughs. "Yes. My brakes weren't responding. They just, stopped working. You can go have a look now if you want but they don't work." That...that actually made sense now. "Oh. Sorry I guess." That apology sounded so ingenuine. "I should be saying sorry. I ruined your first race." Damn. He was actually apologising for something that wasn't his fault. "Can I do anything to make it up to you?" he asked. That took her by surprise. "No, no. It's fine. Brakes well, break sometimes and there's nothing we can do about it really." I reasoned. "How about dinner? It's the least I could do." She stopped dead in her tracks. "Dinner? Like a candle lit dinner? At night?" He nodded with a smirk growing onto his face. "What time?" His smile grew as he heard my response. "Eight or seven. Up to you really."
"Half seven. Would that be alright for you?" He slung his arm around my shoulder. "Definitely. Can't wait princesa." Y/n looked at him again with a smirk. "Princesa? Since when was I princesa?" She asks while being in a state of nervous giggles. "It's always been you."

Raj and Wayne Headcannons (Cause I love them).
They obviously have sleepovers at each other’s houses even in their teen years.
(This is before TD2023) Wayne likes to set Raj up with girls from school for fun, but Raj always said “They’re not my type.”
They give off “We’ll marry each other if we don’t have a partner before our late 30s” vibes.
Raj is an Xbox player and Wayne is a PlayStation player. But they both have Nintendo Switches for long trips.
They play Mario Kart, they always pick duo characters like Mario and Luigi, Peach and Daisy, Toad and Toadette.
They play Overwatch, Raj mains Ana cause of her snow owl skin and Wayne mains Cassidy cause he has good aim.
Wayne pulls an all nighter in sleepovers. Raj tries to but falls asleep easily.
Raj looks up to Wayne like a big brother and inspires to be team captain of a hockey team one day. Wayne treats Raj like a twin brother.
They celebrate each other’s birthdays even if theirs is months apart.
They did a blood pact.
Raj has a sweet tooth and Wayne prefers spicy food.
They both watched SpongeBob and dresses up as SpongeBob and Patrick on Halloween.
If one of them is sick, they go to their houses and comforts the sick one. And they don’t care if they get sick.
Raj learned how to cook from his mom, who owns an Indian restaurant in Canada. And Wayne is basically microwave cooking, but learns from Raj’s mom when he visits.
They met each other in preschool, Raj moved from India and Wayne lived in Canada his whole life.

Hi, sorry for the late response but I wanted to make sure I had some things for you to read along with what I'm about to say. I would say mine is a bit more objective than the links I'll be posting, so do keep this in mind. These thoughts also will connect with each other in some sort of way.
Racism/Francophobia
As funny as that sounds, francophobia is a real thing apparently in the F1 community. It's littered around all sorts of different platforms of people hating on him because he's french. Joke or not, their hate for him is real and they play it off by making fun of his ethnicity which is not okay. We also see people calling "baguette" (which I do acknowledge they use on both him and pierre) which is also just weird. I think it's important to acknowledge how these jokes are not okay to say, and their harmful. People seem to hate the French, and Esteban gets the short end of the stick compared to the likes of Pierre--- something I'll talk about later.
You also are right about him being of Spanish descent with his paternal side coming from Malaga, but he's also part Algerian (hence the Ocon-Khelfane) on his maternal side. Algeria is in Northern Africa, and there does seem to be a bit of racism involved. It rubs me off the wrong way when they call his face "punchable" or "rat like" seeing as his face has many features present in Algerians. I personally find Esteban attractive, but I see that he's often voted as one of the "uglier drivers" which seems to be a reason why he's not as well liked. I think if he were more conventionally attractive he would have a lot more fans, thus more support.
Classism
I wouldn't say that Esteban grew up in poverty or even poor--- in fact, I would even say he grew up middle class--- but he definitely wasn't rich. His father was a mechanic who owned a garage that he would later sell along with their house to fund Esteban's career. They would live in a caravan after this. His mom would also sell snacks at karting tracks to earn more money. Another point that I'd like to bring up is that he would buy Pierre's used chassis because he simply couldn't afford his own, though of course this was still when they were friends.
I say that he's hated because of classism because he can't afford to not fight. His family basically gave up everything for the chance of him getting into F1 and I think that reflects on his driving style. I think that this is more on F1 as a sport than on fans though. F1 is notoriously known as the 'rich boys sport' and Esteban is not included in this.
Teammates
I could talk about this more, but I'll keep it simple. I think this is the most important one because one of the biggest reasons people hate on Esteban is because he "is a bad teammate", and I think that is simply ignorant of people to say. I'm going to only bring up Fernando and Checo in this as they seem to be the major ones.
Checo
He was teammates with Checo from 2017 to 2018 in Force India, 2017 being his first full year in F1. He would lose out to Checo in his 2017 but then a year later beat him with a 9 to 5 win to loss rate. He would also go on to have many notable crashes with Perez, with most of them having Esteban at fault. Except this isn't exactly true. In races such as Hungary and Spa both of those incidents were Checo at fault, yet people refuse to acknowledge this. Checo is also a notoriously aggressive driver (not to max now though).
Fernando
I would say that they both were just hard racers. I think that both of them drove dirty with one another, but Esteban always gets the blame.
Most of his teammates and people he's fought with have also been very popular which I'll talk about next.
Toxic fucking fans
I might catch some slack for this one, but it's true. His teammates (Daniel, Fernando, Pierre, Checo) have all been more popular than him making him less popular than all but one of his teammates (Pascal Wehrlein who he "raced" with in 2016). Checo obviously has a bunch of Latin American fans and Fernando Spanish ones, and they go hard for their drivers. Some of Max's fans are also insane, but I won't go into that one.
Esteban fighting and racing peoples faves push their buttons and they'll send truck loads of hate towards Esteban that other people see and internalize it and spread more hate to him.
Social Media
I think its just so generally accepted that Esteban is a bad driver (which makes people think he's also a bad person) that it makes more people also hate him. These posts from toxic fans of other drivers that Esteban has "beefed" with give a often wrong or at least very negative view on Esteban that a lot of people will latch onto. I think it's more of a snowball effect than anything. There's a very good quote from reddit that I can't find but it goes along the lines of, "F1 fans love his racing style, but not the driver." and I think it sums a lot of things up very well. They say they like hard racing but hate Esteban when ever he does it (may be a hot take, but I don't think he's bad at wheel to wheel racing).
Pierre
I think this is a topic I could spend a lot of time on, but I'll just give you the basics of my view on this loaded topic. I see Pierre as being more well liked because of his connections with Charles who is obviously a fan favorite and because of his girlfriend Kika and that makes every single complaint about Esteban basically fuel to the Esteban hate train. Pierre and Esteban are constantly fighting, and since both are not very well popular people would rather side with someone their fave likes than the other person. I think people also often forget the times where Pierre has been a horrible teammate as well, like in Australia.
Not being well known
He's not as big on social media ( I heavily agree with you on your point that he definitely needs a new PR manager ) and that's where it really hurts him. He doesn't have as many fans that will back him up and defend him on things which makes him a easier target to hate on. It really disturbs me on how people will laugh at Pierre saying "Ciao" to Esteban after passing him in Austria and how they'll send him death threats after Monaco. I think you bring up a good point of you not knowing him well as it rings true for many F1 fans. He's in a back marker team who's consistently getting shitted on so who would like him? I think if say Max or Charles tried what he does they wouldn't get nearly half the shit he does. In fact, I think they'd even get praised for it. I also will say again that I believes he's also a rather good driver which doesn't seem to get enough recognition.
To finish off this long rant that I honestly strayed from in certain spots, I'd like to say that Esteban is unfairly hated. This of course is all subjective and some of my points don't apply to everyone, but I think this is a pretty good basis on my stance. I do want to put out there that I do agree with the fact that he does actually have to listen to team order and that he does do some stupid shit sometimes though!

Really good summary of reasons on why he's hated. If you dont want to read any other of links, READ THIS ONE!!! Very informative albeit long response from HONcircle.

pretty solid summary of his time in F1 and is rather interesting.

This is some people's thoughts on why he isnt a team player, though keep in mind that some of these are very negative.

goes more into the whole Checo situation and their time together as Teammates. Someone provides a good outline on some of their crashes and provides video evidence as well!

Esteban Ocon & Pierre Gasly: What Went Wrong?
Tumblr media
Esteban & Pierre. Let's start all the way at the beginning.
2003
Esteban was 6 & Pierre was 7. They both grew up together in Normandy, France, the pair only living 20 minutes from each other. Both being on the track, they decided to get to know each other & over time actually becoming good friends, the two even describing their relationship as "very close". With Esteban even claiming that the first kart Pierre got into, was Esteban's. The two were friends for 4 years.
But the start of this beef between the two, started in 2008.
2008
Esteban & Pierre were racing in a national championship & Pierre overtook Esteban on the last lap of the race, which made Pierre the winner. While however Pierre did end up getting disqualified, it still made Esteban upset, therefore creating a wedge in between the two of them. While the two still competed against each other it is believed the rivalry continued brewing over the years until 2016-2017 came around.
2016-2022
Over the years Esteban & Pierre would try their best to steer clear of each other which meant not becoming teammates & not talking basically at all. So 2016, Esteban Ocon joined F1, signing as a reserve driver for Renault Sport F1. Esteban Ocon in 2017, signs with Force India which was a part of his multi-year Mercedes deal. But at the same time Pierre is making his debut with Scuderia Toro Rosso, at the Malaysian Grand Prix. 2019, Esteban joins Mercedes as a reserve driver after Racing Point (Force India had a name change) replaced Esteban with Lance Stroll. However Esteban was supposed to go to Renault, but the deal fell through. 2019, however for Pierre, was the year that he signed with RedBull Racing. But before the Belgian Grand Prix, Pierre is demoted back to Toro Rosso. 2020, Esteban joins Renault, signing a 2-year deal. At the same time, Pierre is signing with AlphaTauri, a 2-year deal. While in 2021, Esteban just signed a 4-year deal with Alpine.
2022
In 2022, it is announced that Pierre will be joining Alpine. Which for Esteban is a sore spot. But the two don’t seem to forget about the feud even bringing it up in Drive To Survive where the two say they will never be friends again but will try to be cordial teammates.
A/N - hiiii so I’m Gigi, this is obviously my first post here, let me know anything you guys would like to see about F1, if you want more deep dives about drama, let me know :)))

"I care, I care, I care"
The weirdest brainrot pairing I've ever gotten lol. Set in the aftermath of the sprint today. Please enjoy this Oscar/Logan fic
You ’ll get it soon.
Unspoken words, hovering above his head. Like a lightbulb in a cartoon, just waiting for the idea to strike. Talent finally awakening. Light flicking on.
James, telling him that he’ll get it soon. The car is different, it’s new, and it’s a beast which Logan still needs to tame. But soon. Soon he’ll get it, whatever it is. The ability to finish, to get out, to smile. To be something other than an embarrassment, a pay-in, a stupid American.
“You’ll get it soon baby,” Lacy runs her fingers through his hair. He hums, scrolling through Instagram. Blue light, burning his eyes. Mindless. Anything not to look up, to not see her pity. She’s two years younger than him. A part-time student, full-time model. Oscar had raised his eyebrows at Logan when he first saw her. Blond hair as straight as rain, skin perfect, tight white tea with a neat skirt. Ticking all the boxes. An influencer and he’s a driver, and they look so good together, everyone says it.
“You sure caught yourself a good one with her, didn’t you?” He joked later. Elbow knocked into Logan’s side, and he forced himself to look up, offer a small smile. Wait for the joke, the barb tangled into his flesh.
“Lucky”, Oscar had simply said. A quick wink, as if it wasn’t just the two of them.
Who? Logan had imagined saying. Cut his tongue out. No need for words in a car anyway.
“You’ll get it soon,” his mother tells him. Voice soft, even over the line. About two continents and three oceans between them. Lacy still beside him. Updating her own Instagram, and Logan watches her edit the photos. Manicured nails in the pattern of a chequered flag tap on the screen, zooming in and out. I’m surprised you even know what a chequered flag looks like.
“Thanks,” he says. She zooms in on her skirt, dragging her finger over the material, instantly smoothing out the wrinkles. Saturation turned up slightly. In other life, I think I’d like to be an artist, he had once said. Laughter. Turning to look at him, eyes bright even in the darkness. Why wait for another lifetime? Why not this one Loge?
Maybe when I’m older, he had conceded. But for now, I’m too busy winning races to bother with sketching.
Don’t you mean too busy losing to me? Oscar giggled. An arm out, hand playfully pushing him in the darkness. Night heavy. Thirteen, heart too big in his chest.
“It’s just unlucky,” his mother continues. It’s dawn back home. He wonders has she slept at all. “Quali set you back, and the car isn’t good overtaking in circuits like these. You couldn’t do anything else, Logan. The car isn’t good with grip, you’re just getting the hang of it. It’s unlucky, could’ve happened to anyone.” He nods, even though she can’t see him. Lacy is now zoomed in on her face, softening her skin texture and smoothing the imperfections away. Filter only her lips, brightening them.
“Are you tired?”
He nods again, and then feels stupid when the silence stretches. “Yes. A race is always tiring, you know?”
Of course, she knows. She’s the one who stood with his dad at the side of every race, every go-karting competition. American wind and American rain and American sun. Home saturated on the track, accents matching his own.
“Yes, sweetheart. Are you going to the after-party?”
“No, I don’t think so.” Logan pretends not to notice how Lacy stills.
“Really?” His mother tries to keep any inflexion from her tone. “Not even with Oscar?”
Logan huffs a laugh. “Oscar will be way too busy mom. He won the sprint.”
“I know, that’s what I meant. Not even to celebrate his first podium?”
He swallows, looking down at his trousers. Thumb fingernail trailing up and down the seam, made to perfection. India, China? Mass-produced, workers whose names he’ll never know. He wears and uses and discards their work, move on to the next thing to taint with his touch. Always new shirts, new trousers.
Oscar wrinkling his nose. Eleven. Carting academy in Brexton/ Brixton. Both are the only non-Europeans there. Locked as roommates, these foreigners who speak English differently. Logan’s first time sharing a room. Oscar’s first time meeting someone like Logan.
“That’s a waste,” he told him, watching as Logan sorted through his wardrobe. His parents had left him to unpack. His father telling him he was growing up, he was taking the first step in his career. His mother’s tight hug, promising to call every night, promising that he can come home whenever he wants. “You don’t need all those clothes.”
“Yes, I do.”
“No, you don’t.” Incessant. Australian accent foreign and harsh against his ears. Bouncing through tones. Up and down. Higher-pitched than Logan’s.
“I don’t have half as many clothes as you have, and I’m fine,” he continued. Logan just shrugged. “I keep my clothes until they fall apart.” Proud, and Logan couldn’t help but turn, nose wrinkled in disgust.
“What?”
Oscar nodded, happy to finally have his attention. Cross-legged on the bed, skin still warm from Australian weather. Freckles. Front tooth missing, young for his age. “My mum even stitches them, if the tear isn’t bad. It’s a waste. It’s bad for the environment. Why buy new things when the old things are working fine? Plus, it’s an easy way to save money.”
Saving money. As if money was a finite source, something to be counted and hoarded and saved. Saving time, saving face, saving money.
Logan had never thought about that before.
“Tell him we’re happy for him, will you?” His mom is continuing. “I remember when he was just so small I just wanted to put him in my pocket.” She laughs, and Logan wrinkles his nose.
“Whatever mom.”
“I’ll text his mother too. She was always nice to us. Don’t tell Daddy, you know what he’s like.”
Another laugh. Like it’s nothing, just a joke. Logan continues to run his thumb along the seam of his pants.  His mother always the one to ring him after the races. DNF, fighting with HAAS for the bottom three places. An investment. That’s what his dad used to call it. Carting is a creature surviving on a steady diet of money, and his dad is always there to provide for it. Up to F1, and success brushes against his fingertips before racing away.
“You made it to the family fridge,” Oscar once told him. Grinning, tone pitched lower, finally broken. Spots and acne. Seventeen and on the edge of something great.
“Oh yeah?” Logan replied, smirking. “Nicole couldn’t get enough of me, could she?”
Oscar laughed, pressing his side against Logan’s. A wall of warmth, his gentle sandalwood aftershave lingering in their shared space. Then pulling back, telling him he’s an idiot, the smile shaping his words.
“You’ll get it soon,” his mom says, the quiet stretching. She always had a knack for knowing what he was feeling, even though he’s lived away for longer than lived with her.
“Yeah,” he says, still picking at his jeans. “I better.”

-There are also plentiful Renn and Hant feet shots. toku foot perverts rejoice
-POV you are just a little upside down hater
Tumblr media
-Actually I think teaching beast fist to the go ongers is a dangerous idea. they should NOT have this power they WILL do stupid shenanigans with them
-Sosuke getting his geki powers not though training but by being really passionate about saving Speedor. they would be so yaoi if Speedor wasn't a sentient toy car
-Incredible Blueisms on display here

-THE LONG IS OUT I REPEAT THE LONG IS OUT. WOW IT WAS THAT EASY HUH
-Go on Wings trained under Gorie Yen specifically what is this lore
-Bruh it was literally that easy to revive Leo and Mele lmao that doesn't cheapen their deaths at all
-Oh but they're going to perma super hell after this aight sure
-2 minute roll call babeyyyyyy
-Long's bipedal hydra form is so silly looking. tho i guess anything would be a downgrade compared to a horse hydra
-Bae is back from India (in a turban) no thanks to WORST FRIEND EVER GOU
-God the go on mechs are so ugly
-"Engine beast grand prix" sounds like a wild mario kart track
-Jan's hair is very long and pwetty
Tumblr media
-Unhand him you purple furry
Tumblr media
-Just as well Natsume's favorite food is egg tarts bc it seems Renn canonically cannot cook anything that isn't egg based. also Gunpei being so proud of buying the eggs ough kawaii doggy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Jan doing Bomper's "bom bom!" ahhhhhhhh kitty
-Genki reds genki redding
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Oh neat they included some bonus live event footage. G3 princess rap and engine formation rap goated
-LMAO THERE'S A PREVIEW FOR KR DECADE HERE? also shinkenger. wow 09 sure was a while ago huh. don't like the passage of time much
Closing thots: cute lil movie! nothing particularly amazing or funny but the contrast between "competent and sensible people" gekis and "heads full of sawdust" go ongers was amusing enough. i would say that bringing Leo and Mele back from the dead AND releasing Long from his Ball Prison kinda cheapened the ending to geki but man. its sentai it ain't that serious lol
6/10 not enough genki red shenanigans for my liking. maybe Jan and Sosuke should have kissed a lil idk
