Great Potential at Native Foods Cafe

Today I had lunch at the Native Foods Cafe in Lakeview with friends. I love  Native Foods because their menu accommodates for many food allergies, has tons of healthy options, is entirely vegan and is reasonably priced.

I have visited several times and I always end up ordering the same thing, the Bangkok Curry Bowl. It has a base of brown rice that is covered with lots of fresh vegetables (kale, zucchini, carrots and cabbage), marinated tofu and has a wonderful red curry sauce. The whole dish is very flavorful and is not too heavy at all. 

As much as I enjoy the Bangkok Curry Bowl and think that Native Foods has really tried to provide gluten-free options, I feel the gluten-free menu they provide is fairly limited. I also think that this problem could be easily fixed if they considered offering to substitute seitan for tofu on some of their dishes to make them gluten-free. 

Overall, I would give Native Foods Cafe a 7/10. I love the Bangkok Curry Bowl and enjoy the fresh ingredients they use. I also think the price is fairly reasonable with most meals costing less than ten dollars. However, I wish the menu offered a few more gluten-free options. I would recommend Native Foods Cafe for a tasty lunch with friends, especially if anybody has a food allergy or restriction.
