It's astounding to him how you can make him come out of his shell almost easily. When he approached you in that manga shop and asked you out after getting to know you for a bit, a big step for him as he doesn't approach others often. How he'll accompany you through new and crowded places like train stations because he knows those places make you uncomfortable, how he'll order for you at restaurants even though you both would rather let others order for you, pushing himself out of his comfort zone so you can be more comfortable. When he talked about his beloved Yu-Gi-Oh! cards then apologized for rambling, but you told him to continue and said you like hearing him talking about something so passionately. You accept him completely and encourage him to be more open around you. It's comforting. He wants to be someone you can take comfort in too.

He was the one to propose. He took you to the manga shop where he talked to you for the first time, even though you both had moved to another city by then. He didn't even try and pretend he had a special order to pick up or something. If you guessed what he was planning on your way there and asked him about it, he didn't answer. There, by the furthest left aisle of the shop where he approached you, he pulled out a velvet ring box and popped it open to reveal a diamond ring. He got down on one knee afterward because he was so anxious, and forgot to do that before pulling out the ring, but he made it look natural like he was planning to do that so you couldn't tell. He's gained more confidence and maturity since you both started dating, but you can still see a glimpse of that nervous boy wanting you to accept his request to go out with him all those years ago in those teal eyes of his, no longer hidden behind his bangs. You see him fully, and he sees you.
